Opinions de TAKATO Fort Lauderdale
We tried a little bit of everything. To drink, we had the Shikoku Margarita and the Golden Bee, and we started with the Duck Bao Buns. For our entrees, I ordered the Spicy Hotate Maki Roll and the Spicy Yellowtail Roll, and my boyfriend had the Chilean Seabass. The Spicy Hotate Maki was unreal! I had never tried scallop sushi before, and it was such a pleasant surprise. We finished with the Ube Cheesecake for dessert, do it! The service was fast, the drinks were great, and the restaurant itself is lovely with gorgeous beach views and a fantastic atmosphere. We went on a Wednesday night with a reservation, which felt necessary since the place was packed. Everything we ordered was fantastic, and our server, Yujeong, was delightful. We will definitely be back!
Our server told me that almost all of the sushi rolls could be adapted to be gluten free, as well as the nigiri and sashimi, which was amazing to hear. We also ordered the shrimp fried rice gluten free. I’m not completely sure about cross-contamination protocols, but everything I tried was absolutely delicious. And I can’t forget about dessert — it was the best I’ve ever had in my life. It was a sushi-style roll with crispy rice on the outside, vanilla ice cream on the inside, and chocolate sauce on top!!!!!!!! Absolutely incredible!
Our meal here was the best meal that we had in The Miami-Fort Lauderdale area in over a month's stay. The restaurant has a long raised patio overlooking the beach as well as a large dining room. It is located at the ground floor of the Conrad hotel. Service is attentive, prompt and friendly. The meal that we had consisted of Miso soup that was puping hot and very flavourful. A seaweed salad that was larger than expected and tasted great; rock shrimp tempura with aisle sauce that was very tasty and well done; tofu with (japanese) eggplant in truffle ginger soy sauce that was amazing and (2) bao buns with roasted duck. Each and every dish was exceptional and we will certainly be back on a future visit.
Everything about this dining experience was impressive from start to finish. The skirt steak was incredibly good--tender, flavorful, and clearly made with top-quality meat. The lamb chops were just as amazing: perfectly cooked with a great sear and juicy, well-seasoned interior. I was also pleasantly surprised by the sushi--it featured real crab meat, which is a rare and appreciated touch. The tuna tartare was fresh and well-balanced, with great texture and flavor. The shrimp fried rice was another standout--definitely top tier, with perfectly cooked rice, plump shrimp, and a rich, savory taste throughout. On top of all that, the service was top notch-friendly, attentive, and professional. And the view? Absolutely stunning. Whether you're coming for a special occasion or just want to treat yourself to a great meal with a beautiful backdrop, this place delivers on all fronts. I'll definitely be back
Not the best photos, and I didn’t get a chance to snap pictures of everything, but that’s definitely not a reflection of the experience! We’re visiting from out of town, and this restaurant absolutely did not disappoint. Everything we ordered was delicious, and I would happily order it all again. The service was amazing as well. Daniel was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, attentive throughout our meal, and went above and beyond. He even brought over a picture and crayons for my nephew when he noticed he was starting to crash out. We would definitely come back!
From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed first by the hostess, then immediately by the chefs before being seated. I loved having the option to sit indoors or outside with a beautiful ocean view. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and sets such a great cozy atmosphere. Our waiter was pleasant and professional, and since it was our first visit, he took the time to explain the menu thoroughly. Now, the food??? OMG absolutely incredible. From the fresh, flavorful nigiri to the rich lobster udon, every bite was amazing. My husband enjoyed the braised short rib so much that he ordered a second one. I also appreciated their selection of cute and delicious non-alcoholic beverages. Since we were celebrating our anniversary, they even surprised us with sushi ice cream for dessert which was very tasty & innovative . We’re honestly kicking ourselves for not visiting Takato sooner. We will definitely be back!!
We celebrated our wedding anniversary on the outdoor terrace with a beautiful ocean view. The service was excellent, and the sea bass was absolutely outstanding — the best we’ve ever had. A lovely surprise was the complimentary sushi ice cream dessert for our anniversary. A truly wonderful dining experience. Highly recommended.
Dinner at Takato was outstanding from start to finish. Phenomenal flavors, elevated execution, and truly superb service by Yuyu - every single one of her recommendations was a hit. We started with the Duck Bao Bun and Short Rib Kimchi Taco, both packed with bold, perfectly balanced flavor. For mains, the short rib jabche was rich and comforting, and the wagyu hot stone was an absolute highlight. Chef Taka personally came to our table to show us how to grill the wagyu, which made the experience interactive, fun, and unforgettable - grilling the wagyu over an open flame on the hot stone is a must-have experience. Dessert sealed the deal with pistachio shaved ice and ube cheesecake - creative, beautifully executed, and the perfect ending to an incredible meal. Everything was excellent. Takato delivers on flavor, service, and experience in every way. Can’t wait to return. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Stayed at the Conrad for 10 days and had breakfast every morning at takado. Food was excellent and service was even better. Ask for Fernando as he is absolutely wonderful. Kept my coffee hot at all times and totally attentive to all our needs! Remembered our order and made us feel totally at home and pampered! Will definitely be back!

If you’re in Ft. Lauderdale, you have to try Takato. Everything from the beautiful decor to the clean, modern layout makes for an amazing experience. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring your glass is never empty and the timing of the meal is perfect. The food was spectacular, but the real star of the show was the Wagyu skirt steak. It was easily the best yet—incredibly tender and flavorful. Highly recommend for a date night or a high-end dinner by the beach!
Great time at Takato! We had different kinds of dishes to share, but the highlight of our night was the Wagyu!! the restaurant Terrace was absolutely full on a beautiful January evening. It was a wonderful night. Our waiter was very good and lead us towards good choices.

Takato is a must stop when you’re here. Everything is so delicious. The wagyu gyoza is phenomenal and whatever sauce comes with it is so good, the short rib taco is out of this world, the crunchy tuna roll is amazing, and the kimchi roll is truly insane. Kimchi fried rice is also to die for, and the angry chicken is too. Adam is such a great server: we were well cared for and he was so nice and attentive. We’ve been here probably 10-15 times - the service is top notch every time. All the drinks are great but we love the bonsai mule and the golden bee. The ube cheesecake is the best dessert I’ve ever had. Literally. I crave Takato regularly and I live in NYC where we have every type of food.
My friend and I came here last night to celebrate my birthday, and I had an absolutely amazing time. The food was delicious, but what really made the night unforgettable was our waiter, Bun. His energy, personality, and overall vibe truly put the icing on the cake. Great food and outstanding service are the perfect combo for a fantastic night, and this place delivered both! Will most definitely return💞
Everytime I’m down in Fort Lauderdale, which is a few times per year, this is one of my stops. It’s my favorite restaurant because they are consistent. The Crispy Tuna & the hot stone Wagyu are some of my top choices. The crab rice is excellent as well & feels lighter & healthier than your traditional rice. Highly recommend!
The servers had great atmosphere, very charismatic. The Short rib japche had a delicious combo of egg and wagyu. And my god, the bao buns. I could eat 40 of them. Killer place, definitely coming back for lunch instead of dinner next time
This place is absolutely awesome! I came here to celebrate my birthday and was not disappointed at all. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Our server was fantastic—every recommendation he made was spot on and beyond our expectations. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the experience was unforgettable. I can’t wait to come back!
Absolutely love this restaurant! My husband and I had a small getaway in las olas for his birthday and decided to have a last minute dinner here. Of course the restaurant was packed so we decided to sit by the bar. They have some Korean and some Japanese options on the menu so we tried both. Every single dish we ordered took our breath away and the portions were generous too. 100% recommended!!

Takato is AMAZING. Everything we got was delicious. My husband and I went here for a dinner while we stayed in Fort Lauderdale. Everything from the drinks to appetizers to entrees were incredible. Some of the freshest sushi we have ever had and so flavorful too. Our waiter Vinny was excellent along with all the other staff. We would fly to Fort Lauderdale just to come here!

Took my parents to Takato for their 53rd wedding anniversary. They aren't "fine dining" people, and they tend to be overly critical. In short, they are a tough couple to please. They loved the meal. Every dish was better than the last. My mother, who doesn't eat sweets, finished off the sushi cream. We had a wonderful time, the view was great, and the service was top notch. Highly recommend! Ordered: Wagyu Gyoza, Ceviche, Duck bao buns, Brussel sprouts, Sea bass, Wagyu skirt steak, Ikura, Torched salmon with trufle, Crab fried rice, Lava cake, Sushi ice cream --> yummy
I'm from Orlando and was down south on a quick getaway trip. This place delivered everything, from food, to service to atmosphere. Is right by the beach too. Like we went on a Tuesday night and it was pretty busy and still service was pretty fast. You can tell they are on point with everything. Definitely coming back whenever I'm in the area. Also the tofu appetizer was amazingggg , some of the best tofu I've ever had.
I experienced Takato for the first time this past weekend while staying at the Conrad and while I was concerned I wouldn't be able to eat much, everything was fantastic. We got the rock shrimp, mushroom gyoza, a few sushi rolls (tbd these were not to my taste but not bad), the lobster udon, and short rib jabchae. For dessert the ice cream sushi, ube ice cream with lava cake, and the strawberry cheesecake bingsu - all three were phenomenal however the bingsu was addictive. I will 100% return and this was likely one of the best restaurants I've been to all year.
Our recent dining experience at Takato Ft. Lauderdale was truly exceptional, and much of that excellence is thanks to our incredible server, Tyler. I had the pleasure of visiting with my wife, my mother-in-law, and my father-in-law, and Tyler made the evening unforgettable for all of us. From the moment we were seated, Tyler welcomed us with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality. His knowledge of the menu was impressive—he explained each dish with clarity, detail, and enthusiasm, offering thoughtful recommendations that perfectly matched our tastes. His descriptions of flavors, ingredients, and preparation elevated our expectations and enhanced the entire dining experience. Tyler’s attentiveness was remarkable. He anticipated our needs before we ever had to ask, checked in at just the right moments, and ensured that everyone at the table felt comfortable and well taken care of. Whether it was refreshing drinks, adjusting our pacing, or making sure my in-laws felt relaxed and accommodated, his service was seamless and sincerely caring. My wife, mother-in-law, father-in-law, and I all agreed that Tyler played a major role in making our evening special. His professionalism, personality, and genuine kindness set a high standard for service and truly elevated our time together. We left feeling grateful, impressed, and eager to return. Takato has our highest recommendation—and we hope to have the pleasure of being served by Tyler again on our next visit.

Takato was a great dining experience overall. We were able to snag an outdoor table. This restaurant has a great energy, good music, and a fun atmosphere. I also appreciated the mocktail menu! We ordered a plethora of menu items, starting with the wagyu crispy rice and hot hamachi, both were great. From there we moved into the truffle tofu, lobster roll, and kimchi tuna roll, they were all balanced and flavorful. We also ordered sake, maguro, and hamachi sashimi. The sashimi was good, not great, the texture of the fish was slightly off, leaning a bit chewy rather than the melt in your mouth quality you’d expect. We finished with the sushi ice cream Overall, Takato delivers on vibe, menu variety, and creativity. It has definitely evolved into a more tourist-heavy destination, and some of the elevated refinement has softened, but it’s still a strong choice when you’re in Fort Lauderdale!
We were very excited to try this restaurant. Since we get to this area very rarely, we really enjoy looking at reviews and deciding where to go for the few nights. Expensive by local standards, but everyone we spoke with assured us that it would be worth the price. Unfortunately our experience wasn't what we'd hoped for. The front staff were wonderful. They held exactly the table we had requested. The view of the ocean was wonderful too. There's something so soothing about looking at that big inexpans of water, we were delighted and excited. Our waiter, unfortunately, was in a bit of a rush. Not sure why, because he only had three tables from what we could see, but he was impatient and abrupt. We watched with envy as a waitress served several other tables calmly, smiling and speaking with the patrons. We even debated asking if we could switch because it seemed like our waiter was too busy to explain anything about the menu or discuss it without glancing around the room and his watch. Disappointing. The appetizers, especially the shishito peppers, were marvelous. It's because of those peppers that I'm giving it a four and not a three. The chef's choice sashimi, pictured here, was a disappointment. The server ran through what each piece was so quickly that anyone unfamiliar with sashimi would have been hard-pressed to understand what they were talking about. We did ask him to slow down and go back over a couple of things which clarified what we were eating, and were grateful for that. Based on the reviews, we were expecting truly extraordinary fish, and this was far from that. I had hoped the salmon would at least be the equivalent of ora king, or good bellies, but it wasn't even close. The toro tuna should have been fatty and melted in our mouths, but instead was the basic magiri tuna sashimi found in an average Japanese restaurant. Presentation was gorgeous though and I guess that counts. The rolls were good, pretty heavy on the mayonnaise. But in the end the biggest disappointment was the waiter and the sashimi. We had planned to stay and see the dragon dance for Chinese New Year, have some dessert and coffee and relax, but we decided to leave rather than feel so rushed. A note about the photo. I did use AI to remove another person at the table who preferred not to be seen.
This restaurant has gone down in its menu and quality when compared to at least two years back. There used to be a phenomenal Japanese omelette for breakfast with caramelized onions that seems to have disappeared from the menu. Run of mill menu which you would find anywhere else, and the ordinary omelette is okay. The restaurant does have an amazing location with views of the beach and the ocean road from the patio. The servers are nice. This is the review for the Takato restaurant and not the Conrad hotel

I was very excited about coming here, my husband and I made a great effort to come for our 1st anniversary as it’s not a place we can afford every day, it was our first time. When I made the reservation, I asked if they did a little something for dessert writing “happy anniversary” and they said yes, and that they would do it. I asked as a surprise for my husband; I made sure to get dessert and to my surprise there was nothing written on it which was pretty disappointing. This was very important to me for the occasion and it’s saddening that not even a Happy Anniversary was given to us by the server. He was okay, but also always short and quick when ordering even when we asked him about the plates as it was our first time there. Food was good and variety was good

price too high for the quality and specially portion size of the sushi we ordered. Nice place, staff did a good job. Good luck.
Temper your expectations with this place. Out of town visiting and wanting to try quality sushi the area had to offer given we're by the ocean. Was led to believe this place had higher quality given the price point and location...also thought it would be a more sophisticated atmosphere. It felt like I was eating in a night club. I sat at a high top right next to the kitchen so it was constant clattering of dishes and blaring house music. I had two specialty nigiri which they brought out at the same exact time one of which was the wagyu - tough to chew. I ordered one roll - negi toro which was poorly put together. All of which left me unsatisfied with how much the final bill was. The only saving grace was the waiter was incredibly nice. I'm more than happy to pay more when the quality, service, atmosphere all add up. I'm hoping this helps others steer clear from potential disappointment.
We are out of town and heard great reviews about “Takato”. We had a party of six and ordered sushi rolls, waygu sliders, shrimp fried rice and a few other small plates. Everything looked delicious but honestly wasn’t that great, especially for the price. We all got our food at different times and our server never came back to ask how everything tasted nor give refills. It took awhile to get our check and then we were told we couldn’t spilt it. The atmosphere was lovely but the food and service wasn’t good for any of us.

I’ve always rated this restaurant a solid 5 stars. It’s been one of my favorites for years, and I’ve recommended it to countless people and bring many of my clients here. Unfortunately, our server Taylor managed to turn what should’ve been another great night into a complete disappointment. His lack of menu knowledge was shocking, and his attitude was even worse. He brushed off our table entirely, barely spoke to us, and acted as if helping us was an inconvenience, yet he had no problem giving attentive, friendly service to the other tables around us. The difference was impossible to ignore. The most concerning part was the allergy issue. We clearly communicated a shellfish allergy, and despite that, a dish containing shellfish was placed directly in front of our guest. That’s not just poor service; it’s dangerous. One of the reasons I’ve always loved this restaurant is the exceptional service. Taylor was the complete opposite of that standard. He needs significant retraining, because no server should be able to take a consistently great experience and drag it down to a 1-2 star visit the way he did…

Very disappointed with our experience at Takato in Fort Lauderdale. We came as a group of 12 and unfortunately the food was extremely bad and overpriced. The only positive thing about the night was our waiter, who gave us excellent service and was very attentive. However, the kitchen service was terrible. The food came out at different times instead of all together. Some people received their meals 20–30 minutes after the first person had already finished eating, which made the whole experience uncomfortable and unorganized. On top of that, one of the dishes we ordered never arrived at all. To make matters worse, the supervisor was extremely rude, unprofessional, and ungrateful. Her attitude made the situation even more uncomfortable and disappointing. Overall, the quality of the food did not match the high prices or the reputation of this restaurant. I do not recommend it.
