Wow! This place out did all my expectations. The service, atmosphere and food were incredible. The belly dancer really made the night spectacular! The treated us like queens and we even ended up dancing on the tables! Definitely recommend if you are celebrating anything!
We went there for a team dinner and the atmosphere was really great. The place was packed yet the service was quick. They have great Greek food options along with sea food on menu too. It gets a a bit noisy as the evening goes and with belle dancer around which adds to atmosphere
We found this place on Tik Tok because of the table made hummus. Christina was so kind and welcoming and helped us decide what to order. We got the sampler, the meat for 2, beet salad and baklava. We loved the sausage and the owner came over and talked to us too! Very family oriented and delicious food. My husband is a picky eater and he said that this place was probably the best food he’s had in a long time - I’d say that’s a win!
Great experience and unique experience! Fun atmosphere with great staff and great food. Belly dancers were a nice touch too! Only knock was my salad had a lot of oil with little to no vinegar - but still delicious. Would come back again and probably eat tons of appetizers 👏🏼😋
I was absolutely delighted with this place🔥 and the staff❤️Everything was incredibly delicious, the portions were generous, and the team was so warm and welcoming🥹😻🥰 I want to give a special thank you to the staff for their kindness and attention. My daughter was sleeping in her stroller, and there is a bell in the café that makes a loud siren-like sound. Some kids were pressing it, and my baby got really scared. The staff immediately apologized multiple times 🥹and by covering the button so children couldn’t press it anymore🙏❤️❤️👍 That meant so much to me❤️❤️❤️This level of care and thoughtfulness is truly priceless🙏It’s rare to meet such attentive, kind, and genuinely caring people. Thank you so much we felt really valued and will definitely come back🥰❤️
Taverna Opa in Hollywood is always such a FUN experience! The atmosphere is always alive especially if you come for dinner. Belly dancers, music, and napkins flying in the air! The food is delicious and very authentic Greek cuisine. The service is always good. I have been here many times with friends and for special occasions and it never disappoints. Perfect spot for great food, entertainment, and unforgettable memories right by the Hollywood boardwalk. Totally recommended!
Felt like we were in Greece! The most unique idea was the mortar and pestle at the table to make your own hummus!! I'm going to steal that idea. The key to running a successful restaurant... Owner engagement!! Top notch, too bad we live 3000 kms away!! 🇨🇦
I just can't say enough.. we lived in Greece for a few years and just loved the food and Greek hospitality. Taverna Opa takes us back every time we visit. We usually work weekends so this is our first visit on a Saturday nite... WOW!! A wonderful dinner, amazing entertainment, and simply THE best service. George, we ♥️ you! Oh, and the food was simply amazing, just like we remember from our early 90's stay in Greece.. Sincerely, "The retsina guy" 😁
Gent, listen: We stoped at this restaurant by accident just because we liked the view, but this restaurant is one of the best restaurants I ever visited in my life.(45 today is my birthday) The food was wow, fresh, delicious and very tasty. Service was the best part of it, Alex our server was amazing, he explained everything about the dishes about spices, cocking temperatures and everything else. I don’t usually write reviews but when I do they generate a thousands of views. This restaurant is the best in Miami, you don’t need to travel to Greece, save the tickets and come and enjoy a great traditional Greek meal in this location you will thank me. Ask for Alex he is the best ever team member at this restaurant.
Last night, I had the pleasure of dining at this wonderful Mediterranean restaurant with a group of friends and family. We were looking for three things: exceptional Mediterranean cuisine, a fun dining experience, and a great atmosphere – and this place exceeded our expectations on every level. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance struck the perfect balance between lively and intimate. The warm lighting and thoughtfully designed space created an inviting environment that was perfect for our group gathering. The energy was vibrant without being overwhelming, making it easy to enjoy great conversation throughout the evening The menu impressed us from start to finish. Every single dish we ordered was expertly prepared and bursting with authentic Mediterranean flavors. The appetizers set a high bar – each one showcased fresh ingredients and bold seasoning that immediately transported us to the Mediterranean coast. The standout of the evening was undoubtedly the bronzino. Cooked to absolute perfection, the fish was flaky and tender with a beautiful crispy skin, seasoned with herbs that complemented rather than masked the delicate flavor of the fish. It's clear the kitchen knows how to handle seafood with the respect it deserves. Our main dishes were equally impressive, with generous portions and presentation that showed real care and attention to detail. The flavors were complex and well-balanced, showcasing the best of Mediterranean cooking traditions. The service throughout the evening was attentive without being intrusive, and our server was knowledgeable about the menu and happy to make recommendations. This restaurant has definitely earned a spot on our regular rotation. I'm already planning my next visit and looking forward to exploring more of their menu. If you're seeking an authentic Mediterranean dining experience with great food, wonderful atmosphere, and a fun night out, this place should be at the top of your list. Highly recommended!
I had a really good experience!! Amazing good food and great service! Dennis was our server and he did an outstanding job. Definitely coming back! Great greek atmosphere and music as well!!
We hosted my aunt’s birthday party here and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The food was delicious, the service warm and attentive, and the atmosphere perfect for celebrating. Thank you to the team for helping make her day truly unforgettable!
🌟 A Mesmerizing Evening at Taverna Opa, Hollywood Beach 🌟 From the moment we arrived at Taverna Opa, we knew we were in for something special. Nestled along the Intracoastal Waterway, the restaurant offered a stunning waterfront setting that felt both vibrant and serene. We were seated outdoors, right by the river, where the gentle breeze and rhythmic lapping of the water set the tone for a perfect afternoon. Our server was exceptional — warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the menu. He guided us through the evening with grace, offering thoughtful suggestions and ensuring every detail was just right. His timing was impeccable, and his energy matched the lively yet relaxed vibe of the restaurant. As we sipped our drinks and watched the boats drift by, nature added its own surprise: a manatee surfaced just feet from our table, rising slowly to take a breath. It was a quiet, awe-inspiring moment that made the night unforgettable — a gentle reminder of Florida’s wild beauty, right in the heart of Hollywood Beach. The food was equally impressive. I had the Chilean sea bass, perfectly seared and served over a rich bed of sautéed spinach, accompanied by golden roasted potatoes that were crisp on the outside and buttery within. My wife chose the Lavraki Branzino, topped with a bright, citrusy ladlemono sauce that elevated the delicate flavors of the fish. Each bite was a celebration of Mediterranean finesse and fresh, coastal ingredients. Taverna Opa isn’t just a restaurant — it’s an experience. Between the impeccable service, the enchanting riverside setting, and the surprise visit from a curious manatee, our evening was nothing short of magical. We’ll be back, and next time, we’ll bring friends to share in the them.
Amazing long standing greek established that takes huge pride in the service and food. Drinks were excellent, bartender provided exceptional service and the food was on point. We had the chilean seabass and Athenian shrimp both dishes were full of flavor and fresh. Gorgeous view of the water and a little show to help dinner go down smooth
Tavern OPA was just as delicious as I remembered from a few years ago! The food was fresh, flavorful, and so satisfying. I’ll definitely be back again.

We had an 80th birthday party for my aunt here. The entire staff was so accommodating, very helpful, and took pride in their work. The food was absolutely incredible. We will be coming back and recommending this place to others.
This place is amazing is my 4th time here every time I'm in FL I stop by Great food, live dancers, great music very entertaining for all ages. Me and my family had a blast.
After more than a decade, this remains my favorite restaurant in ALL of South Florida. High quality, fresh ingredients. And they always treat me like a VIP … every time! I feel like family. I cannot speak highly enough. We had so much fun, I forgot to take pictures of the amazing entrees. Go with a good attitude and have fun!
Wow! Where do I start?! As soon as we arrived we were greeted by a garrulous and smiling host. He got us a table outside along the canal which was absolutely magical, with the occasional boat passing by, people waving as they enjoyed the cool evening breeze over the calm waters. As soon as we were seated, our server came by with menus, waters, and a tall pestle and mortar filled with whole chickpeas garlic, oregano and olive oil, to prepare hummus table side and it was SO SO DELICIOUS! We ordered a few appetizers including the hand-rolled dolmades (oh. my. GOD. - seriously, I've eaten my weight in these over the years and these were, hands down, among the best I've ever had), the opa chips - breaded and fried zucchini coins dusted in grated kefalotyri cheese and a side of one of the most flavorful tzatziki I've ever had outside of Greece, and lastly their Saganaki which came out sizzling on a cast iron plate. We also ordered the whole grilled Lavraki (branzino) and the whole grilled Dorado - seriously juicy, meaty, buttery, and filling. Also worthy of note was the Greek Mule cocktail - holy cow the mezcal and mastixa combo elevated this classic to a whole new level. To say I'm coming back is an UNDERSTATEMENT. One last thing to mention is that Friday nights they have belly dancers and some BOMB music playing. If you're looking for a great time and equally a romantic spot - this is it. To say they live up to the name Taverna Opa cannot be more true. Come here - you won't regret it!
The food is amazing and so is the atmosphere! They give you chickpeas and a mortar and pestle to grind your own hummus, which was fun and delicious. We had Greek salad (some of the best kalamata olives ever), tzatziki, and scallops for appetizers (they were slightly over cooked but tasty). Then we shared the meat platter for two, which was delicious. We finished it up with a fabulous espresso martini. Fun music and belly dancers. Definitely would recommend!
Went here twice in 4 days. Both my wife and I loved it. We sat outside, right next to the intercoastal catching a nice breeze. We had the meat platter for 2, a whole grouper and a filet mignon. 💯 delicious. Service is polite, accurate and prompt. Belly dancer inside every day, we did not witness, but from the cheers it sounded like they were having a great time.
Genuinely one of the best meals I’ve ever had in my life. You HAVE to try the zucchini chips with tatziki. I got the pork entree that comes with a tomato, onions, tatziki, fries, and pita bread. It was absolutely to DIE for. The servers were very kind but pretty busy and i had to ask for water a few times. I would HIGHLY recommend this place. Come early for a good view next to the water!
Absolutely Beautifully Decorated authentic Greek restaurant. The staff is attentive, they offer Valet parking, they have outdoor seating with beautiful views of the bay, plus the food is exquisite. This was my second visit, we were craving a whole fried snapper and we were not disappointed. Very happy for the experience.
We had a wonderful dinner at Taverna Opa! The atmosphere is fun with great music and dancing. The belly dancers provided nice entertainment! We really enjoyed the greek salad and kalamari, along with the Gyro Platter and Pastitsio. Excellent greek food! Our waiter, Ozzy, was Awesome !! He was super friendly, knowledgeable and attentive to our needs. He recommended dishes for us to try and was very polite and professional!
Jasné, doplnil som to: “We visited your restaurant several times during the week and we were extremely satisfied — both with the food, the quality, and the great service. Thank you for making our stay in Florida more pleasant. We can highly recommend this place to everyone. We wish you all the best.”
It’s an experience coming here. $1 pita and you get fresh made hummus. The food was great. I had a Mediterranean salad and my husband had the chicken kabobs. The lemon potato’s they come was delicious. The meats were cooked well and tasted amazing. We even had a belly dancer performance during our dinner to top it off. One of my favorite places to eat at Hollywood beach
Taverna Opa is simply the best! Amazing food, great atmosphere, and lively energy every time. The staff makes you feel welcome, and the experience is always unforgettable. Highly recommend!
The best! So authentic and welcoming! Leo and the owner made us feel like we were in their home and kitchen. Best collages I ever had. Highly recommend!
We started out with handmade hummus made at the table with mortar and pestle. He put in olive oil, chick peas and garlic, mashed it to a coarse rustic consistency and served it with 2 mini loaves of crusty bread. I ordered a Lemon Rosemary martini, loved it and ordered another. The Saganaki arrived and brought us to another level, love that cheese. Asked for a pita and olive oil for dipping, their olive oil is real, tickle your throat real. My wife had the Chicken Souvlaki platter and loved it. I had the Moussaka and it was authentically unique, different than any I’ve had, but delicious. We ended our meal with a couple shots of ouzo. Our server, Vasilis helped us with our choices and attended to our needs. We’re from the Chicago area with a great Greek community known for their cuisine, Taverna Opa holds its own with the best. Great experience all around.
This place is a Gem. Outdoor on the water beauty to behold. All while enjoying one of the best dining experiences in Hollywood. What a Lovely Surprise. I suggest everyone give it a try. You'll find yourself hooked.
Fabulous!!! We had seven people in our party and everyone loved their meals. We were a tad bit disappointed that even though the saganaki is described as flaming cheese, it is not. Everything was so delicious and our server was fantastic that we quickly forgot we were sad!! We thoroughly enjoyed everything from the pitchers of mojitos to the Greek custard. Can't wait to go back to Ft. Lauderdale and return to Taverna!
This was a great experience. The food was terrific, and the restaurant was clean. I would recommend eating waterside if you can. The views of boats going by are amazing, especially at sunset. Our waiter was terrific and friendly. I would definitely recommend this establishment to anyone, and will definitely eat here again.
Had lunch and dinner here. It's lively, energetic and the staff was extremely helpful. As soon as we stepped in, from the valet to the manager, good vibes. Food, incredible! From the fresh hummus, warm pita, to the Aphrodite punch, couldn't beat it. Seriously though, we shared the appetizers and main course as well as the tantilizing baklava. A spot you definitely must stop at to enjoy the great food & welcoming atmosphere.
If you are in the mood for authentic Greek cuisine, look no further! 😍 Our meal began with fresh garlic-filled hummus & bread followed by sensational Mojito‘s, lamb chops, Pastitsio, Greek pastries… finished with some rich, Greek coffee! ☕️ We ended the night with phenomenal belly dancing and music! 💃🏽🎶 You will not regret the decision to visit this incredible Hollywood Beach find! 🇬🇷💙
Taverna Opa is a great place for a romantic dinner. The staff is professional, and the ambiance is classy yet comfortable. We ate outside on the patio, and it was exactly what we wanted. Inside looked to be outside of what we would have liked in terms of ambiance. They had music, a belly dancer, and it was more of a party/show experience, so we were glad we sat out on the patio. For drinks, we ordered the rosemary lemon cocktail and a white wine that we drank while enjoying the complimentary bread and hummus. We both ordered the grilled snapper with asparagus and rice pilaf. The dishes were amazing. The asparagus came out later than we would have liked, but we understand they were very busy. Overall, we had a great experience and enjoyed our time at Taverna Opa. Opa!
A great family style restaurant for large party dinners! We celebrated my mom’s 60th birthday and were not disappointed. Their service was impeccable and their timings even more so. Our glasses were always full, the food was more than enough to feed a village, the vibe and atmosphere felt super including. Mom was elated at the end of the evening, and it made her feel special that we put this together for her- when really we did nothing, taverna opa already had the best options to pick out from. Would recommend & would return. Thanks!
Came here for lunch and had the lunch special pork wrap with fries. I'm allergic to whole wheat which the wrap was made of so they improvised with slices of pita, I appreciate that very much. It was outstanding, everything so flavorful. As an appetizer I had the feta cheese with olives and they were out of this world. And also the bread and hummus that you mix up was unbelievably good. Dylan was my server, he was fantastic. Very friendly and helpful, especially when I asked about substituting the tortilla for the pita. I enjoyed everything about the place and having Dylan as my server made it even a better experience, thank you Dylan! I'm looking forward to going back!
Dropped by this cute little spot after a day on the beach. We were so hungry! I absolutely love greek food so I was excited to try out this place in Hollywood Beach /FT Lauderdale. The food was 10/10 and I can’t tell you enough just how good it was. The scallops with spinach feta was oh my god delicious! Wow! We shared a chicken souvlaki platter that was excellent! Our server was named Dylan and he was super attentive. Kept checking in on us without being too much. Just a perfect pace. The views were great and watched the boats and yachts go by. Thank you Dylan. I highly recommend this place and will 100% return on our next layover
I am visiting for a conference and my room wasn’t quite ready yet, so I decided to treat myself and boy was it a TREAT! I was their first customer of the day and everyone was so nice and professional! Valet parking, only $5. The BEST homemade hummus I have ever tasted…and it just got better from there! I highly recommend this restaurant if you’re hungry and in the area!!
What an awesome party vibe! A friend was in town for the weekend and I wanted to take her somewhere special to celebrate. Taverna Opa was perfect! The food is excellent and the party atmosphere is the best! We drank, we ate and we danced on the tables! For single men, this is the place to meet women. The ratio of men to women was probably 1:5.
We had delicious apps & dinner at Taverna Opa in Hollywood Beach. The ambiance and vibe are great experiences. Our waitress was attentive, and when although it took a little bit for our entrees, she kept us updated. Also, kudos to the hostesses. Smith was an extremely busy night, but the employees made it a point to deliver good customer service.
We dropped in on a whim during our last night in Florida and I'm so glad we did! We got the seafood and meat platters to sample as much as we could, and as expected, we had lots of leftovers for the plane ride home. The prawns were amazing, the orzo was delicious, the calamari could've been a little less chewy but that's most places. Great service, beautiful view!
What a fantastic experience at Opa Taverna! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting, lively but still comfortable enough to relax and enjoy a meal. The place is spotless and clearly well cared for, which made a great first impression. The chicken skewers were absolutely delicious, juicy, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to perfection. You can tell they use quality ingredients. I also tried the shakshuka, and it was bursting with flavor, rich, hearty, and beautifully presented. Every bite had that authentic Greek touch that makes you want to come back again and again. Parking was surprisingly easy, which is always a big plus in my book ($5 for valet). Overall, everything from the food to the service to the ambiance was excellent. Definitely a spot worth visiting and revisiting!
The lamb roast, chops, gyro and snapper were all excellent on our visit. Server was attentive despite a busy Friday night. Valet parking was reasonable for customers of the restaurant.
By far one of the best restaurants in the area. We almost had our wedding here but ended up doing a destination wedding instead! The food is phenomenal always. We have never had bad service here. The atmosphere feels like you’re in Greece! Gaby makes you feel like you’re at home when you come here as does everyone else. Please come and experience the best Hollywood has to offer!!!
Really enjoyed eating at this establishment. Menu section was full with nice options. The complimentary homemade hummus was delicious. Food was very tasty and seasoned well, water view was amazing and service was good. There to celebrate a birthday; however, they do not offer birthday selections (ie desserts) for the birthday guest like many other restaurants. The restaurant could use some updating inside and out given the volume of customers that come there daily and regularly. Definitely will go back and pick the outside dinning area.
This is the closest to authentic Greek food you can get! They bring out fresh chickpeas to mash for hummus (phenomenal). I ordered the souvlaki & my husband got the moussake. Neither disappointed! It has a great view as well with outdoor seating. The service was so-so, but the quality of the food surpassed expectations!!
The food was absolutely delicious, with flavors that delighted my taste buds and left me craving for more. The restaurant's stunning views added a picturesque backdrop to the meal, making it even more enjoyable. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff who catered to every need, enhancing the overall dining atmosphere.
Food was so Authentic and delicious, prepared with alot of care. Service was top notch considering the place was packed, waiter was very attentive. Atmosphere was happy and celebritory. There was Live Entertainment from a Belly Dancer, unfortunately we were to late to enjoy. Restaurant was clean and well presented with alot of sitting to accommodate everyone! Would definitely recommend giving this Gem a try! You won't be sorry you did! Our favorite so far this trip!
A superb experience awaits if you are lucky enough to enjoy dinner at Taverna Opa. Taverna Opa has it all. A truly great restaurant begins with great service. Our server, Vasili, was outstanding - he was so well informed about the wine list, the menu and pairing- and was generous and kind in sharing his thoughts. He perfected the dining experience for us. The setting is stunning- with a small intimate and quite dining space overlooking the bay. The food itself was without a doubt, the finest we have had in many years- the cold mezze platter with perfect dolmades and tzatziki (not overly sticky or heavy), succulent and fork tender with a cripy exterior braised lamb was out of this world, the stuffed peppers glistened and delighted with layers of flavor. The portions were so generous, we have our Greek salad (with a very large servings of gentle feta) and much of our dinners for the next day. We bught another bottle of wine on Vasili recommendation to complete our meal the next day. Go. Enjoy. The Opa Taverna is spaectacular
We got to Taverna Opa because Gigi was full. Dinner with the family was good, great quality of food, good service. As we got the table inside, it was very noisy. Some of the tables are used for the stage when they are not occupied. I am curious if they clean and sanitize it after, as I am sure the tables were used for serving food too.
The food was AMAZING. There were tables outside on the water which were beautiful around sunset but it was too windy for us so we sat inside but it was still very nice. Servers were kind. The hummus and tzatziki were incredible I really recommend this place for a nice dinner night.

Today was my first time at Taverna Opa. I absolutely luv this restaurant. Real Greek food and sooooo delicious. The portions are generous too. We will be back for sure. 5 stars.
Beautiful dinner at Taverna Opa I had such a wonderful evening at Taverna Opa in Hollywood. The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, perfectly seasoned, and full of authentic Mediterranean flavor. The grilled octopus was tender and flavorful, the tzatziki bright and refreshing, and the lamb was cooked to perfection and the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, with that subtle coastal charm that makes you want to stay a little longer. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was just right. Even without loud music or dancing, it still felt warm and full of life — just the right balance between lively and peaceful. It’s one of those places where the flavors, service, and setting come together beautifully. I’d definitely come back again — next time maybe on a weekend to experience the more festive side too.
Since the moment you arrive at the valet, you feel so welcomed! The food is always SOOO good! The Opa Eggplant is amazing! And the lamb stew is my favorite. Ozkan, the server is a very professional waiter who takes care of every detail of your dinning experience. And I love all the dancers they are all beautiful, sweet girls 💝🙌
My parents were in town and we were thankfully able to get a reservation here on a Friday night! It was busy but the service was quick. All the food was delicious! I had the chicken souvlaki platter and it felt very authentic. I really liked the vibrancy of the restaurant and decor: I felt like I was back in Greece! The music was a bit loud but we were able to move to a table that was not fire to under the speakers. I will definitely be back and I would love to try and get a table outside on the water!
This restaurant hits the trifecta! The food is delicious and authentically Greek, the atmosphere is amazingly Greek, and the servers are fantastic! Lots of dancing on the tables. We were part of a huge party of 50 and they did an amazing job in their private room. I can't tell you enough how you should definitely go there for a dinner of 2 or dinner of 50, you will love the Greek experience!
It was an excellent choice. We arrived without a reservation but were seated on the patio. The food arrived promptly despite the restaurant being full. The food was delicious. The Greek salad is excellent and made by Greek standards: big chunks of feta and vegetables with a very tasty dressing. We got lamb kebab which was slightly burnt but still good and stuffed peppers-excellent. We also took a plate of fried smelts. In Greece it is called small fish. It was excellent as well. The portions are big, we could not finish them and they packed the leftovers for us. I would highly recommend this place.
EAT HERE!!! You won’t be disappointed. The drinks are comfortably strong, the atmosphere is lit, and the food is immaculate. My husband and I shared the octopus appetizer (seafood meze) and the meat platter for 2. It was both of our first times trying octopus, and it was out of this world. The meat platter was even more out of this world!! Everything was grilled to perfection, so tasty, and left us feeling generously full. They start you off with hummus that you have to smash yourself, and bread. We also had a few paloma’s each which was one of the best paloma’s I’ve had. We stumbled across this place while walking to try another restaurant, but are more than glad we decided to stop here instead! The waitstaff are super friendly, and the dancer that goes around to the tables made it a fun atmosphere for all. Can’t wait to come back to this place in the future!

Went for lunch, not crowded, valet parking. The Grilled Octopus was fabulous! Grilled, nice char and seasoned to perfection! Greek salad was fresh cut and we'll seasoned. I added Gyro meat for 6 bucks, seasoned well but on the dry side. Taste was good. My wife wanted a Gyro sandwich and was informed they only had platters. It was good but not what she wanted, plus the meat was on the dry side as well. Service was excellent and on ;b;;the water. Indoor, OUTDOOR dinning, Watch the boast go by with a nice breeze. All and all a nice lunch

The reason for the 4 stars is because our main course came to us undercooked and had to return it to the kitchen for them to cook it properly. Otherwise everything else was great! We loved the place, the atmosphere and the scenery. We highly recommend to try it out. Make sure to make reservations for the weekend as it gets busy, especially during the season.
Great food at a good price and good service and entertainment. Very loud there. Nice views of the intercoastal. Parking fee, but we walked there from Hollywood Beach Tower.
Food and service were great. -1 star because they had hearing-damage level music playing in the dining room for most of our meal
We were seated indoors despite requesting an outdoor table for a quieter experience, even though several outdoor tables appeared available throughout our meal. The service, while polite, was somewhat slow. The opportunity to grind your own hummus at the start was a fun and distinctive touch. For those with celiac disease or gluten sensitivities, the menu uses a small wheat symbol to indicate items containing gluten; however, our server mistakenly suggested these were the gluten-free options, which could cause confusion. Vegetarian dishes are clearly marked as well. The only local fish offered was snapper, which I opted for, and it was not particularly memorable.the appetizers and salad were excellent—fresh, flavorful, and authentically prepared. The napkin-throwing tradition and belly dancing created a lively atmosphere, though they felt a bit misplaced and, in the case of the napkins, somewhat wasteful. That said, many guests seemed to enjoy the spectacle. Valet parking is available for $5, though the lot itself is small yet easy to navigate independently.
The food was overall great. We had appetizers, drinks & mains. The ribeye was excellent. The appetizer sampler was delicious. Drinks were all very well made & tasty. I would not order the lemon potatoes as a side again. 3 stars for service because of how the rain was handled. We wanted to sit outside for the ambiance, but it rained. The servers/employees worked diligently to get the water screens down for every table except ours- even after we asked them to, it took a while. Wet rib eye was not as enjoyable as when it was dry. We'll still go back & hope for better service next time.

I used to love coming here. It’s right on the water and it’s usually a nice watching the boats as you eat. They open at 2 on Sundays and we came shortly after. We were seated inside by a window. The first thing I noticed was the dirty window. I could decipher whether it was greasy finger prints or a kids nose. With that said I was pretty disgusted knowing the lack of cleaning that was done prior to opening. Our table wasn’t balanced so every time you leaned down it wobbled. The restaurant has seen better days. The food is still good but they really need to do a refurb.
Outdoor seating is lovely (except when boats go by blaring music). Service is excellent and they seem to help each other. Bread and delicious garlicky mashed chick peas are served right away. Mediterranean and Greek salads are both excellent. The small is large enough to share before the entree. Branzino and I've other fish come a la carte and are not filleted. Sea bass is pictures and comes with spinach and potatoes. Fried cod was reported to be very good. There was a belly dance show inside and it was very loud. We could not hear it outside though.
Nicely set along the water, this Taverna offers traditional Greek specialties such as Taramosalata, Melitzonasalata, Hummus, Greek Salad, Octopus, Lamb Chops and many others. Service is friendly and the ambience extremely casual. One issue which requires the management’s attention is the Valet situation, where guests are mistreated and abused by the Valet Supervisor. Careful attention is urgent!
Let me first start by saying that I love this place and would recommend to anyone. As I always do! But on feb 14th 2026 i decided to have an early 4pm dinner with a friend, and the food was served not even warm, BUT COLD! After taking a bite or two we realize this, we decided to send both of our meals back for this reason. We asked for fresh dishes because re heating would only make the meat well done. And that’s exactly what happened. Same food returned with the already chewed pieces, well done and tough! Waiter did even bat an eye after we complained twice. No manager apologies, nothing off the check, not even a drink or dessert. Then the server had the nerve to give me the credit card machine with 18% or more gratuity suggestions. Not cool! My bad for not being a stand up demanding dinner!
After 10 years of visiting Hollywood, Florida, we finally stopped in at TavernaOpa for an early dinner. It was a bit of a strange experience. First, we pulled into the super small parking lot with only valet parking, $5 up front. It was raining, and we were directed away from the entrance to the far end of the parking lot, ok, but that means us two oldies had to get soaked getting back to the entrance! Thanks! Once inside, we had to inch our way past crowded tables and up a giant step to the seaside tables. Great view, although we had to switch seats cause the a/c was blowing wildly on my mate, whose clothes were still wet. DeAndre' our server was,.. well,.. Greek style, but nice and knowledgeable. There was no entertainment in the early afternoon except for our server. We had the grilled octopus and the halume, both were good. Ordered the Chillian Sea bass to split, plenty, although my mate thought it was too fishey. All the dishes served around us looked fabulous. We wanted coffee to have with our Baklava, but they ran out! It's funny because the place just opened for the day. Another thing was that the toilet was shabby with slippery floors, and the whole place could use a little TLC. Again, upon leaving, we had to hunt down the valet at the other end of the parking lot to get our car, still drizzling. I doubt if we'll go back, and I doubt if they will miss us after this review, but... am I wrong?
The atmosphere was great, but the food was just mediocre. The service was strange; the staff seemed to enjoy gossiping about the customers. I found the concept of grinding your own hummus to be quite odd. Having traveled to Greece multiple times, I've never encountered that before! Overall, the place seems to be more about the hype than the quality.

What a disappointment. I was so looking forward to this place with all the high reviews. But the food was so dry and flavorless. I inow Greek food and this is far from it. Plus I ordered a glass of house wine and was charged $23 for the glass, no not bottle. With no warnings. Back to the food verysubpar. Service was good. But for lunch time was very slow. Good luck if you come here. I will not sorry.
I wish I could give this place more stars! I was looking so forward to coming here. I’ve never been here before. I came for my birthday. I came all the way from South Maimi. I’ve heard commercials for Opa’s and I was recommended by a friend. But I have to say I’m extremely disappointed. I think it’s a good location, being on the water, but it’s also very loud off of the street. First, you have to pay to have your car valet parked. It’s only $4, so no big deal. Second, all of the tables are sticky. You know how when the varnish starts coming off the table, it doesn’t matter how much you clean it, it’s still sticky? Yep. That’s all of the tables here. Easy solution! Just put a table cloth on the tables! It doesn’t even have to be cloth. It can be paper. Anything so that your customers don’t have their arms, phones, menus, purses, etc all sticking to the table. That’s a BIG issue that can be easily remedied. Third, I ordered the Branzino. It was $30, but comes with NO SIDES?!? AND, I have to debone it myself??? Maybe this is the traditional Greek way? I don’t know, but it was not enjoyable to be constantly taking fish bones out of my mouth. I would really expect a $30 dish to come with rice, or potatoes, or grilled vegetables, or a salad. Anything! I ordered a side Greek salad to go with it, but of course that was kind of big, because it’s not really a side salad. I will say that the fish was very good. I did enjoy its texture and flavor. Had it been filet I would give it 5 stars. But since it was whole, with bones, I give it 4. Coming without sides, it goes down to three stars. Fourth, my husband ordered the Souvlaki gyro. He LOVES gyro. He’s had them everywhere! From Miami Subs to Santorini, Greece. These were the worst gyros he’s ever had. If you zoom in on the picture I posted of them you can see that it looks as though they fried the meat! It was so greasy that he couldn’t finish. He didn’t eat any of the fries either. They were also very greasy! I added his side salad to mine to take it home and you could see the thick layer of grease on his plate. At least his gyros were a more reasonable price of $18! But still, not worth the cost. They are literally better at Gyroville than here, but at a fraction of the price. Positives+++ 1. The hostess and waitress were both very nice! Thank you for the good service. Five stars 2. The Santorini Mojito was also really good. Five stars. Those two things gave Opa’s the two stars. Our bill was $105 before tip. I will not be back and I would not recommend this place to anyone else. I did see a belly dancer inside as we were leaving.
Went here last night with 2 friends and although the food was pretty good we had a terrible experience. We were seated by the window almost in the back which was ok but the table behind us when a family got seated there, they immediately spotted a roach. They asked to be moved and then a second family got sat there and saw the same roach. At this point our party was kind of grossed out so one of us went to speak to the manager who was condescending, dismissive and rude and refused to help us. Didn't comp anything off our bill for this disgusting display. My first and last experience here.
Mezes were very good. But I wouldn't recommend a dish with mussels, they have no idea how to cook them properly unfortunately. Server put everything on the same bill and cant figure out how to split the bill even though we told her the splits from the moment we sat down.
I think this place needs to be visited by the department of sanitation. Barefoot belly dancers climb up on the tables (and encourage guests to do so too) and then food is served on these tables without so much as a wipe down. That’s just disgusting. The food was very good, however the atmosphere not so much. Seems like this place has an identity crisis and doesn’t know if it’s a restaurant or a club. Even at 6pm the music was so loud that you could not hear the waiter, nevermind trying to have a conversation with people you are dining with. Also everything is extremely cramped, so you barely have any room and you are constantly being bumped against by people trying to pass.

I’m very disappointed with my experience at Taberna Opa. I arrived with one other person and was offered high bar stools, which we politely declined. There were clearly empty tables inside and outside, yet I was told I had to join a waiting list to sit outside. It made no sense. The way it was handled felt dismissive and disrespectful. We had a later reservation this evening but arrived earlier and politely asked the hostess if it might be possible to dine sooner. She mentioned it was busy but said she would “make it happen.” We appreciated that and were happy to wait. After waiting over an hour, I asked for an update on how much longer the wait might be. I was told, very dismissively, that she “does not have to tell me anything” and to “just wait.” We came all the way from New York specifically to visit this restaurant, and this interaction was extremely disappointing. The tone was rude, unprofessional, and disrespectful. We chose not to stay. Hospitality begins at the door. Unfortunately, this experience did not reflect that.
I’ve celebrated my birthday at Taverna Opa before and even brought my best friend back the following month because we had such a great time. The atmosphere is fun and lively, which is why I chose to host my birthday there again last night with 12 guests. Unfortunately, this experience completely changed my view. From the start, service was off. We waited nearly 40 minutes for water after asking multiple times. It shouldn’t take repeated reminders just to get water for a large party. When it came time for my birthday cake, it sat at the table for about 20 minutes before staff took it to the back. When it was finally brought out, there were no plates or knife. Again, we had to repeatedly ask. For a restaurant that markets itself as a celebration spot, it felt disorganized and poorly managed. After dinner, a couple of my friends told me they felt uncomfortable with how our server, Georgie, interacted with them. They described him as overly handsy and crossing personal boundaries, which was upsetting to hear on what was supposed to be a fun celebration. The biggest issue, however, was the billing. When I arrived, Georgie asked if we’d be doing family style. I said yes — but clearly stated only half the table (6 of 12 guests) would be participating. We physically counted together, and I was intentional about this because my roommate and a few of my guests had already eaten. What I did not realize is that they served and charged family-style meals for all 12 guests. Because I wasn’t eating and gratuity was already added, I handed over my card and left without reviewing the itemized bill (this past was a dumb mistake). The next morning, I saw I was charged $540 for 12 family-style meals instead of 6. I calmly called to explain. The manager, Gabby, was dismissive from the start and repeatedly spoke over me, insisting there was “nothing they could do.” She claimed Georgie told her we agreed to 12 meals, which is not accurate, and even said she would “check the cameras” — as if that would confirm a verbal discussion in a packed restaurant. She also referenced that my original reservation was for 25 guests but only 12 attended — which has nothing to do with being charged for food I did not agree to order. When I explained I had carefully planned the headcount, she sarcastically referenced my comment about being a “good planner,” which felt unprofessional and condescending. Between the poor service, guests feeling uncomfortable, and a $540 overcharge that management refused to properly review, the entire experience was extremely disappointing. After getting nowhere with management, I’ve had to explore other avenues to address the charge. I’ve celebrated multiple birthdays here and brought friends because of past positive experiences, but after this, I will not be returning. **ADDITIONAL NOTE** At no point prior to arrival was a family-style requirement, per-person minimum, or secured credit card communicated to me. I did not provide a card in advance or agree to any minimum. If there are records showing otherwise, I would appreciate seeing where those policies were disclosed and agreed to.
I’ve never had such a bad service experience. Food was great but service can make or break a dining experience. I’m a server so I can easily recognize good service or bad service. This was the worst service I’ve ever received while eating out and we had Vlad. I’ve been to this place many times, years ago and have always had an enjoyable experience but maybe things have changed in the last couple years. We waited 10-15 minutes after being seated to be greeted but the greeting wasn’t friendly at all. He just said, “what do you want?” no hi or smile. Figured maybe he’s tired after a long day or a busy shift so I try to be overly nice to him. For drinks, we asked for hot tea. He says no hot tea. We say coffee? He says no coffee or hot tea. No explanation, just a very straightforward rude answer. I’ve had tea here before so my assumption is he was too lazy to get hot tea. No worries though, we moved on to our food order and ordered just water. We ordered 3 things, one of which is the octopus and he shows with his hands that the octopus is about 4 inches and says he could eat 12 of them so we ordered an additional item on the menu cause we think we won't have enough food. I was very surprised when the octopus came out and it was a pretty decent size. About 3x the size he told us. I’m sure he was just trying to upsell but the portion size shouldn’t be lied about. We didn’t have plates or utensils until a food runner comes through and realizes we’re missing it and gives us some. My father asked for lemon and the server never got it for us. That's fine, it happens, we all forget things sometimes. Hummus is brought to the table but I remember it being smashed up tableside, but today, they just brought it to us unsmashed. At no point during the meal, did he check in on us. Meanwhile, the tables near us that clearly had bigger checks were getting his attention. He was smiling with them, asking them if everything was good, and with us, nothing. An elderly couple next to us was also getting minimal attention from him because I’m assuming he didn't care about them since their check was probably small. I almost always tip 25%+ because I take care of other people in the service industry but this server should not be a server. He missed out on what could’ve been a $30-$40 tip on an almost $150 bill and got $10 instead. I barely wanted to tip that but figured he may need to tip out.
