So I stumbled into this kava bar in downtown Hollywood on a random late night — you know, one of those “let’s just chill” kind of nights that somehow turn into deep life talks and random laughter. The vibe here? Super chill, like a mix of island energy and “I might accidentally join a drum circle.” The kava hit slow but hit, and next thing I know my friends and I were all smiling at nothing like enlightened sea turtles. The bartender’s chill too — they serve you like they’ve already reached enlightenment and are just waiting for you to catch up. 10/10 place to unwind, get your mind floating, and forget what day it is. Just don’t make any big life decisions while the kava’s still vibing. 🌺😅

The custom kratom beverage she created was fantastic — a perfect birthday treat. It tasted amazing, and I truly appreciated the care she put into it. Highly recommend!

Perfect mix of Polynesia and Pirate vibes. The decor is inviting and relaxing, the perfect atmosphere for chilling with friends or meeting new ones. Even though it's the perfect setup for a bar, I think it's much better suited for a kava establishment. Marty was my bartender (I'm not sure what you call someone who's serving non-alcoholic drinks). He was able to explain the process of making kava , and the difference between kava and kratom, and gave me great recommendations to try. I had the La Hua, a mix of guava and juices with the kratom. Not too sweet and really brought out the tropical vibes. Many of the patrons brought their own games to play and Twisted Roots also had quite a selection. They have game nights, karaoke, live music all available to see on their calendar. I'll definitely be back. There's so many things to try. And it would be interesting to continue to learn more about all the positive benefits of this Polynesian treat. Hope to see you there

I love the ambiance here, the sounds, lighting effects, and the dark feel as if you were immersed into a video game, the owner has to be a set designer there is literally every little detail to view throughout this place, the details are everything and so cool and neat here. I met my friend for coffee and dominoes here, and it was so cool, I had the Exlir instead, and he tried the matcha. I was glad that they had other options. There's games all-over and the crowd was everything. It's really a cool place! Totally recommend.

Twisted is an amazing 'tea bar' and social experience for the whole family. Located on the Hollywood strip around some great food options (which you are welcome to eat here), its calm exterior hides an astounding cultural experience inside. The inside is a cross between a Disney ride and the set of an Indiana Jones movie. It's atmospheric, moody, vibrant and extremely emotionally comfortable. It's always so interesting to watch people wander in for the first experience, and see their eyes widen. A treat for the senses that doesn't ever get old. The tea and drinks offered here are always imaginative, and there are many drink theme nights throughout the year. Halloween is my favorite. They have flavors for all tastes, it's non-alcoholic, but there are some interesting teas! What makes Twisted so very special is the people you meet here. It's a wonderful blend of all kinds of different peoples from all walks of life. There's great music, games, conversation and vibes. It's a family place, and all are welcome, no judgement. This is all tied together by the wonderful staff who you quickly get to know, and they get to know you. They know your name, and they know how you like your drink. If you're having a rough day, they'll pick you up. It's a tricky task for a bar to get the right kind of staff who can juggle a story and a syrup bottle at the same time. Twisted has a phenomenal bar team and it's hard to imagine the place without any of them. Come on by and say hello. You'll meet some great people. x

Twisted roots is the best kava bar I’ve been to in SFL. I live close to an hour away but still make the drive because the community and vibes at twisted roots are unlike any other. Friendly for dogs, to work on your laptop, have conversation or come out for an event. Drinks are super good and all flavored syrups are home made which is hard to find (most kava bars use torani brand syrups). Tom, the events manager is great and always pulling in great live music. Definitely a place I can call home. Thank you guys!!!

Absolutely in love with this place. All staff members are incredibly polite and responsive and always goes above and beyond. Especially Drake (bar manager) his professionalism is impressive. he always remembers everybody drinks. All drinks made fast no mater how busy they are . Which is important. And Zi I would definitely have her raise, because honestly I have never such a positive, kind, bar attender that provide spectacular service. It is a magical place, where you can enjoy delicious drinks and be a part of their entertainment life : because their open mic and karaoke is amazing .

My brother mentioned this place to me and we decided to come check it out off the strength of the positive reviews. We weren't disappointed! From the decorations to the super friendly and helpful staff everything was excellent. Our server Tati was so nice and a good conversationalist. She made us feel welcomed and explained the drink menu to us and answered all our questions. This has become our new hangout spot.

This place is truly unique. The inside “decorations“ coupled with the awesome choice music (and lights) really makes this spot an experience. The drinks were great too, and the bartender was a friendly dude, but the place itself is so outstanding that it received nearly all of my attention. Not the biggest fan of the group of teens that kept walking around without masks since it’s such a small venue but everything else was incredible.

What a cool spot! If I lived closer, this would become a regular spot for me to visit. The decor and overall vibe are really chill and definitely unique. They offer a variety of kratom, kave, and coffee drinks. Vegan friendly, for those wondering. I had one of their Extract Elixirs, The Golden Goruda, it was so good! They offer a Happy Hour 4-8PM and often have live music in the evenings. There was plenty of seating inside and outside. I highly recommend!

Am I at a Disney theme park?!!! WOWWWW! Let's start off with the design and atmosphere of the place. The second you walk in, you get transported to the most charming spot, filled with relics and artifacts from different cultures. Beautifully "overgrown" by vines and flowers, you couldn't really tell where on earth you are. Secondly, the staff; super friendly and welcoming, and very knowledgeable about all their products, which brings me to... Last but not least, well, their drinks and products! (Isn't that what we're all truly here for?). This kava is possibly the BEST KAVA I have ever tried, plain and simple. The kava cocktails are incredibly creative, super delicious, and their presentation is worth like 15 Instagram pictures. I've even heard other people, some now regulars, say they didn't use to like kava before this place. That pretty much sums it up. All of this combined, makes for an incredible time and atmosphere. It truly is like nothing you've ever seen or tasted before. BULA!

This a very unique, different, unusual but awesome place. All the above makes it a must visit on the Hollywood strip. I have never heard of Kava before, so it was interesting as the owner explained it to us. Everyone should try it for the experience. Now the decor in this place is something else to see, you can see the time and effort that was put into it and it pays off. The band that was also performing that night was very good. After visiting for the first time about a month and a half ago, it struck me that the concept of a “Third Place” was exactly what came to mind when I had to try to find the words to describe the venue in which I had spent the last 3 hours in, laughing with friends, enjoying phenomenal beverages, listening to music being played over the speakers that I thought only I knew existed just to look around and see the Bartenders and other patrons singing along word for word, and in total, gave me a sense of belonging. It’s not often I’ve visited many places of business and left eager to return my next day off with friends for a night of memories. And in fact, It has been my single greatest complaint as someone who has grown up locally for the past 19 years that the majority of things to do this side of the county would revolve around being 21+ and involve the sale and consumption of Alcohol, until I found Twisted Roots If your someone who has heard of this place enough to read the reviews, but have not yet gone in and are looking for a sign, here’s your sign 🪧. Twisted roots is hands down the best kava bar I have been too down here. The inside atmosphere is very relaxing and pretty to the eye. Their drink menu has plenty of options for kava and kratom and coffee with different combinations of flavors. The bartender Ari is so sweet and always is happy to see me. Drake the manager is extremely hospitable and has extensive knowledge about the drinks if customers have any questions. Would love to go back here when I am back in town!

What an amazing establishment, so full of life! Tom the events coordinator does an excellent job at arranging really fun events there every week. They've got a great free comedy show once a month, along with live bands and karaoke every week. You're sure to have a great time as this establishment!

On my most recent visit, I met Tom the events manager and Darren the owner. Really nice people and very welcoming to someone relatively new to their bar. The K tea here is on point and the best tasting I have ever had! The Mocktails and Kava drinks are delicious and creative, and I love that it's all served in premium glassware. Every Saturday is live music which is always top notch in quality and diverse in variety. They have great events almost every night in fact. I always look forward to my next visit!

So I've been coming to this place for a couple months now, I moved in the area recently, this is one of the best kava/kratom spots i have ever gone to not only because of the vibes, the live music, the delicious drinks but also for the staff, everyone it's super cool has a good energy and are willing to help you if it's your first time having this types of drinks. Shawn and Simon have always been awesome during night shifts, and a lady named Taylin also was very aprochable and nice the other day i went on a morning. Overall, a really good spot and would recommend to anyone.

It's such a cool spot. You can easily walk right past this place, but if you find it, go in and be prepared for an incredible atmosphere. It's like walking into a pirate hideaway. Their attention to detail is something I really appreciate.

First time there. Had a tasty Horchata Kava drink ($10). It was served in a tiki-themed cup. Place has a young, artsy vibe with pirate themed (?) decor. Definitely a laid-back place to hang out with friends and make new friends.

I go here almost everyday. The place is so calm and the bartenders are so kind. Whether its Tati, Xavier, Katie, Simon or anyone else behind the bar are helpful, kind, and always remember you and what you like to drink. Happy hours are great and Sundays you get a student discount. There's always events happening. Overall, this place is awesome.

This was my first kava experience. Kava by itself taste like muddy water. It’s not tasty at all . However the mixed drinks are great. I recommend trying it in its pure form so you have an idea and also trying a mixed drink . Twisted roots has a nice jungle book vibe . Our waitress was awesome very knowledgeable about kava . They don’t have food but they allowed us to order from next door. Overall we had a fun night experiencing kava .

Place is great, great environment, there is alot of care taken in the decorations that are everywhere. There are games to play with friends while chilling, and some cocktails. If nauseous try Golden Garuda, it has ginger in it, if not or after the effects of ginger have taken place, take Jolly Temple boosted. Thank you Simon for introducing me and my friends to the place, Yuani for making me my first teas and Tatiana for all the sweet kavas.

This place is so chilled and i love it. I come here with a good friend to get the best Kratom. They have so many talented people come and perform. Another great thing is that they have a corner where you have boardgames, books, etc., so you will be entertained regardless.

Really nice vibe, lots of exotic and obscure trinkets. Shaun was a great kavatender—very knowledgeable and made a white kratom that was not sweet but still tasted good, just like I requested. It also hit right, so I was able to get a lot done. Minor gripe: the bathroom dryers are really weak. Will definitely be returning if I can.

This is one of the best hidden gems in south Florida. Odd artifacts from all over the world line the walls and shelves. There are also board games and card games for use on one of the walls.The kava is ice cold and there are usually a couple different kinds to try. Drake, the manager is friendly, knowledgeable, and his customer service is on point. Tati was quick to serve and was helpful in making recommendations. If you haven't been here yet, you owe it to yourself to stop in and relax.

I was a regular customer there for like two years and always felt welcome and well taken care of. The bartenders are the best: Simon Mcfly, Chloe, Katye, Dakota, and Sean. I'm going to miss them so much. This place was my safe haven, the place where I hung out with friends, where I made new ones, where I went when I had to study or read. Clearly, the drinks are amazing, but what makes this place special is the people and the vibe. Sadly, I'm no longer in the United States, but I'll always remember it fondly. I was a regular customer there for like two years and always felt welcome and well taken care of. The bartenders are the best: Simon Mcfly, Chloe, Katye, Dakota, and Sean. I'm going to miss them so much. This place was my safe haven, the place where I hung out with friends, where I made new ones, where I went when I had to study or read. Clearly, the drinks are amazing, but what makes this place special is the people and the vibe. Sadly, I'm no longer in the United States, but I'll always remember it fondly. Such a vibe. The decor is so cool! Hung out here for a few hours a few weeks ago after visiting Camelot days. It was a perfect transition. The artist that was performing was excellent and his music really made the space magical. All the attention to detail and little artistic touches around the place that made it so unique were really lovely. I didn't have any kava but the coffee was wonderful. Great service as well! We will definitely be back!

(Chloe,Sean,Katie,Dakota,Tati,Tahile & Simon) Savannah makes the best drinks with her magical process—she’s a real alchemist. I can’t wait to try the coffee she makes; I’ve heard so much about it.

This was definitely a unique place to check out. Happy I went to a place like this before never been to this type of concept before. I wish they had food even snacks for sale. I feel like they are missing out. My friends and I went and tried some of the drinks. They were actually quite good.

Interesting place, decorated very heavily to be a mix of "exotic" places like Nepal, Polynesian Islands, kind of gimmicky but cool. Looks like a bar but has a coffee shop vibe. Very good service, the bartender got my daughter a limeade (I think so she wouldnt feel left out). A lot of cool items on the menu, but maybe kava just isn't for me lol.

i love this place to bits they have amazing drinks and great people here but they always put the music so loud like it is a concert. I can’t even talk to the person sitting next to me and i always walk out with a throbbing headache.

EDIT: I used to love coming here, but there is a gentleman with glasses (usually in a crop top with glasses and a hat) - he always has a nasty attitude with me. Not sure what the issue is. It seemed like they were kicking someone out and I was a little concerned - but he seemed to be taking his frustration on guests. I wanted to take my time to thank Brent and Alexis for their premier service. Not only did they make great drinks, they were really knowledgeable and answered all my questions in regards to Kratom and Kava. Definitely the place to be in Hollywood. On top of that, their ambiance is out of this world (a little magical I might add.) Thank you guys!

Use to love coming to this place, I live a little far so I always make sure to grab a gallon or a couple every time I make the trip to Twisted Roots. The last time I went the gentleman gave me a very clear tea (which I never seen the tea this way) I was unhappy as they assured me it was still the same strength as I questioned it. When I arrived at my destination that I had my cup it was literal water. I called back and the gentleman that assisted me when I was there had me speak to Max the manager. Max apologized and appreciated my feedback as he mentioned they did have to change the leaf, whatever the case may be and offered me a free gallon plus $25 off. He really wanted to make my experience better, even offering to deliver to where I was. I told him when I travel back down I’ll pick up what he offered. He assured me he will leave a note by the register and I believe my account for the $25 off. Before making the trip I decided to call and make sure everything was all set prior to my arrival. The girl that worked the morning of 10/09 was beyond DISGUSTING. When I called, I explained the situation. I started my call asking for Max and she immediately responded with why was I asking for him. I asked if she is familiar with Max (questioning myself now, if I mixed up his name) she responded with, of course I know who Max is he is my manager………. In a tone as if I was stupid. I told her ok, just making sure I didn’t get his name wrong as you sounded clueless when I asked for him. I explained my situation and she said there is no note and she never heard of anyone receiving a free bag. I asked if she can please check the area he mentioned and offered to give my number so she can possibly locate my account and see if he added it there, she was completely argumentative didn’t want to check saying she would know and she never heard of anything. I asked if I can speak to Max and she said he wasn’t available it was to early. I mean this girl was NASTY. I asked what time I can call back she said afternoon. I asked her to be more specific and she took a deep breath, I asked her name and she hung up on me. I called back 3x in which she didn’t answer none of my calls. I kept calling and she answered with a completely different tone and stated she spoke to Max and he told her what I said was accurate and I can come. I again asked her name, she said I’m the only one here. I was about to go, but honestly this offering was offered to me due to poor service received and for me to lower myself after being treated like a total idiot by this girl whoever or whatever her name is made me really stick with my decision to just stay away from this place. I appreciate Max’s effort but it’s not worth my peace, time and money if I am going to be treated like this by an employee. I believe a lot of employees forget the customer is what keeps their paycheck afloat. If your going to treat a customer with anything less than value you shouldn’t be in customer service. All this could have been resolved with I am not aware of this situation but I will find out and call you back.. no instead she argued, belittled me and hung up on me. Whatever your name is I hope you find peace, and hopefully whatever your personally going through in life you learn not to take out on others. Kindness goes a long way. UPDATE: owner responded with : This review genuinely surprises us. You reached out about a single cup of tea valued at under $10, and even though it came from a batch that had no other complaints, we took your feedback seriously. As a gesture of goodwill, we offered a replacement plus a $25 credit, a resolution worth over $75 for a $6–$9 drink. Me: I think you have me severely confused. I did not get one cup. I never do. I purchase GALLONS when I come as I don’t live near the bar and made this known when we spoke Max. I always spend over $100 when I would come. I have NEVER purchased just A CUP! And is it your employees protocol to be rude to customers? If this even made sense, why would you offer so much for a value of a cup?
