I was craving Mariscos and happened upon La Maria in Haltom City. The greeter at the door was very friendly and found a table for me. My waitress promptly introduced herself, brought me a menu, brought a bowl of fresh chips and warm salsa. She wasted no time in taking my drink order I ordered a Michelada and since it was a little chilly out and I chose a bowl of sopa de pescado. I was not disappointed! The Michelada was not overbearing and had great flavor. The caldo hit the spot! The portion was large and seasoned perfectly. I can't wait to come back to try other entrees.

This place was awesome. Great customer service, price is decent. Food was bomb! No tex Mex seafood here. That’s was as close to Jalisco as I’ve gotten here in the U.S this is my new fav Mexican food place. Edit - I first posted 3yrs ago. We had fun then have been going to eat here since then and this was the first time we celebrated one of my family bday and wow!! They went way beyond! Made us feel vip status for sure. This is a must try place for sure.

La Marea has really good food! We came with a large group of 11 and they sat us immediately. Carolina was our server and she was friendly and served us quickly. Lovely atmosphere and tasty drinks!

Came here on a Friday night for dinner and it was super busy, the entrance hall where you walk was super dirty and the women's restroom needed attendance, papers and stuff were flowing out of bins. We got sat down quick and as soon as you walked in the music was blaring (the DJ? was kareoking)you couldn't even have a conversation with the person beside you though, it was that loud. I get it people are out having a good time but adjust the music so we can talk! The insides is huge and had a lot of places on the floor and at the bar to sit at. The waitress was nice and attentive despite her having a lot of table which was good. The menu did have a lot to choose from and sounded appetizing. We ordered our drinks and food and ethe drinks came out first and then the food. Everything was good, the food had an okay flavor and the presentation of the plates were nice, nothing sloppy. They then brought out a show of a woman dressed like Jenny Rivera and she was freaking hilarious, she had us cracking up. Definitely made the mood way better than the DJ that was blaring his music.

Came to try out La Marea in Haltom. I’ve been to previous ones before. The location is nice and open. Good for a night out. Brought our family out for a meal and although the service was good I wasn’t impressed by the food. Ordered the spicy shrimp but was expecting bigger shrimp. These were small cocktail shrimp.

The drinks were good. The atmosphere was nice. Marcela waited on us. She was very attentive and offered plenty of options when I was indecisive. Our drinks came out fast considering we were here on a Friday night. I ended up ordering the stuffed catfish. It was okay, I think the stuffing (shrimp) was missing seasoning. Originally it was supposed to have a red sauce but I asked for it in the side. Glad I did, it’s basically enchilada sauce and I don’t feel like that belongs on sea food.

Music too loud. To go otherwise very good seafood with the flavor of Mexico. Served hot have to order and not too expensive. I noticed they updated their recipes, very tasty.

After having a fantastic dining experience at the same restaurant in Irving, TX a month ago, I was eagerly anticipating the same level of quality and flavor at the location near my hotel. Unfortunately, my recent visit left much to be desired. The food, which I had previously raved about, fell short of expectations, especially the oysters. Unlike the fresh, generously-sized oysters served with a variety of accompaniments at the other Irving location, these oysters lacked freshness and were disappointingly small. Furthermore, they were served with just a splash of lime juice, lacking the flavorful extras I had come to expect. Additionally, at the other Irving location, they use a knife to scrape the oyster meat from the bottom shell, making it easier to enjoy every last bit. However, at this location near my hotel, this practice was not followed, making it difficult to fully enjoy the oysters. While the overall ambiance and service were satisfactory, the lackluster quality of the food was a letdown. Hopefully, the restaurant can address these issues to maintain the high standards it's known for.

I've been driving all day for work coming from Chicago and all I wanted was a nice dinner from a local Texas restaurant. I asked for suggestions on something local and light because I'm driving and I didn't want to waste food I wasn't gonna finish. The platter suggested was not light at all. Also, I got the food, I ate some of it and had to save some to give it away to a homeless person. One thing that could not be eaten at all was the STEAK. I've never had to say no to steak and this one was really disappointing. It was so salty that I felt my tongue tingle. Everything else was edible for the most part. I was disappointed that the server at the bar did not offer anything to make up for me having to give back an entire steak(the main star of the dish), not even an apology. The one thing I would say was good out of this entire "experience" was the security guard, he was alert, yet polite.

This has got to be one of the biggest restaurants I've ever been in. The place is huge. The menu is huge too. As are the servings. They're not overpriced. That's the best thing I can say. They don't make their chips in-house. They're salsa is literally just tomato sauce. I had a beef dish that was very salty and just a mess. Too much mushroom and onion on top. Way too much cheese. The beans and rice were pretty flavorless. My girlfriend had a shrimp dish and all the shrimp was overcooked. It came with a garlic bread that looked like a hot dog bun with garlic butter on it. It was chewy and gross. Chicken nachos were okay but the chips were chewy. Give this place a miss.

Food was meh!, I was ok with our server at the beginning since she had a good attitude but after that, our drinks and food took for ever, they ran out of silverware and gave us plastic ones. The food took almost 30 minutes, we asked for some tortillas and it took another 20 minutes, I just wanted to go to the kitchen and ask for some. I don’t know if they were understaffed or who’s fault was it but as a 1st time customer, I won’t be back at all.

First time eating here and man it was pretty disappointing. My shrimp stuffed chicken was over cooked and had a whooping 3 shrimp in it. The empanadas were undercooked. I don't think I'll be going back.

I was there 2 weeks ago with my cousin and her daughter, we left feeling like we just wasted our money. First of all, the restaurant was freezing. I understand it was hot outside and gets hot inside when it's busy but there were maybe 3 other tables being used. We asked to move because the air was blowing straight on us. First time visiting and we were seated quickly...then we waited...and waited for a server. They sat a family next to us and within 2mins there was a server at their table. Then another server brought them chips and salsa. We sat there thinking we would be addressed and no I was wrong. We got up and walked out. My family took me to this restaurant to celebrate my birthday and was not happy with the experience. My food was was extremely salty and the below picture is what my wife found on her crab legs while eating her meal. In addition my kids complained about the soda they ordered…the Dr Pepper tasted like an off brand cola with cherry flavoring. The experience was more in line with what you would find in a lower cost neighborhood establishment but the cost of 4 of us exceeded $140 so I definitely expected more.
