Opinions de Amami Sushi Fremont
One of the few places that make their wasabi fresh each day. Decent portion sizes, quick service.
I think this is the best sushi place ever in Bay Area, the taste of the sushi rice is so perfect , doesn't like some other place so wet and sour. And I am sure their fish is as fresh as they catch from the ocean haha. Anyway, their service is excellent with patient. The restaurant is clean and neat. Absolutely a great place to have a sushi dinner.
Amami Fremont just opened a few days ago and our group really enjoyed the atmosphere and food. Chef Henry takes time and care into the food and is such a nice guy. His restaurants are our #1 go to sushi spot in the Bay area. Please make sure to stop by for a bite and be patient as they are not fully staffed at this time. It's worth it!
Stopped by for lunch at around 12:30 on a Wednesday. There was no wait. Water was provided extremely fast. Ordered the sushi regular: 7 piece Nigiri and 6 piece CA roll, and a miso soup. It was delicious. Some of the Nigiri had toppings including pickled wasabi and avocado. Everything tasted super fresh and each piece was plentiful. -No skimpy skinny fish pieces. Even the CA roll was good. Looking forward to coming back.
This was the greatest sushi restaurant I have ever been to the service was great came for dinner and they did not disappoint when we got here they only had 2 miso soup but they were able to get four and we didn’t pay for they ones they gave us this is 100/10 it’s great you should try it
Absolutely amazing first sushi experience for our child. Their Romeo and Juliet roll is very good.
Food was great, bit of a language barrier I believe, so order didn't come out just right. Super friendly staff and delicious food though!!!
With the server speaks both Mandarin, Cantonese and English in wonderful fluent level. I could tell many customers around my table are having a great time. That puts a positive and exciting atmosphere for the night immediately, we ordered lobster sushi, Hokkaido scallops, and sweet shrimp especially by seeing the tempting picture online. It did not disappoint at all with the huge portion of meat. Not only that, their salmon roll became a new favorite for my son who never liked cold food. We truly appreciate the caring female server who helped us tirelessly throughout the evening.
always on my rotation. used to go to the Cupertino one, now this one is slightly closer we only order items on the white board and not the omakase because we know what we like 2 people with our fish selection and a bottle of sake is about $200+
Five stars for everything! Excellent menu and made with fresh ingredients! Excellent service with friendly staff that well trained. Excellent atmosphere with customer made dinning ware! We need to continue to comeback here to try other dishes on their menu!
We went on weekday, and booked the table, so no lines. The sushi quality is good, I also think the cutting skills of this sushi chef is really good. The thickness of each sushi are the same. The oyster is from Japan, they are smaller. If you like the US size, you don’t need to order this. *my visit was 2 weeks ago
We went here for lunch with some friends and it was great. We had a smattering of different things: spicy tuna, salmon skin, rock and roll, and different special rolls. The Romeo and Juliet roll was tasty. I typically don’t order raw salmon for my rolls, but the texture of the salmon was very soft and nice. They also had a nicely priced grilled fish collar and it was a good portion for the price we paid. Service was great. Sometimes when I order hot tea, it’s one cup or they’re slow to refill the tea pot. Here they were very fast to fill up our tea pot.
This is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in town. The sushi is always exceptional, server was awesome! All the dishes were very flavorful.
We called the day before to make a reservation because they were usually busy during dinner time. We ordered some sets of sushi— the omakase was the best among all. Everything else was really good as well. We spent less than 50 per person, and it was totally worth it!
The ingredients are fresh and delicious. I have checked in many times. The service is also very good. I will continue to come!
The seafood cuts here are so fresh and thick and delicious!! We ordered the Chirashi, sashimi regular, beef teriyaki, rainbow roll, agedashi tofu (super yum!), tempura and the monkfish liver appetiser. All the cuts were so thick and delicious and the rice was heavenly! Super in love with the rice! Also, the agedashi tofu looked so regular, but it was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside! Super duper recommend ordering it!!! A cute shop located in an area with low traffic but there was a queue at the time we were eating 6-7pm so there must be really great demand for this place!
It's their grand opening now so we decided to go check it out. The food is surprisingly good! We ordered a Chirashi and a Sashimi Regular from the lunch menu. The fish is super fresh and buttery, the portion is great too. I told the chef that I really liked the white tuna, and he not only explained how he made it, he also gave us two extra made in a different way on the house! The white tuna with monkfish liver is just *chef kiss*. Highly recommend this place!
I'm happy to see a new Amami location in the Bay Area! Compared to the Cupertino one, the interior is aesthetic and the restaurant is overall much more clean. We came here on a Tuesday evening and the staff were quick and helpful. We ordered our usual - the Omakase (10 piece nigiri). Though the quality of the fish wasn't identical to the Cupertino location, the fish was still pretty good and they were generous with the cuts. My favorites were the seared Norwegian salmon belly and sea bream. Definitely a solid place to get affordable sushi in the area!
Located on Warm Springs Road in Fremont, in a small strip mall. This is my new favorite Omakase sushi restaurant, featuring large cuts of high quality seafood on tiny pieces of rice. Their 10 piece Omakase sushi is an excellent value at $46! I also recommend their oyster, uni shooters, which is served on a soup spoon! Delicious mix of flavors, seasoned with fish eggs and ponzu sauce. By the way, they provide freshly grated Japanese wasabi, not the artificial horseradish.

We come for sushi every week here. Its right on a way from our clinic to our home. Many our patients eat here as well. Very good place.
Loved the sushi here - the fish is high quality, price is good for the quality of the fish, and the ambiance is nice: clean, spacious and brightly lit. Highly recommend the omakase: 10 pieces for $46. The presentation of the nigiri was excellent and it was all delicious.

Omakase 4/5: the first white sushi piece with truffle oil was delicious! The rest were not unique flavor and on the fatter side, not lean and marination wasn’t as appealing. Price wise to quality is ok 👍 Chicken karage: 2/5 very salty and chicken didn’t taste very fresh as it was masked by heavy marination Ambiance: 5/5 nice modern setup. Looked clean and light atmosphere Service: 4/5 good at taking orders and bringing the tea and food over.

It’s just ok. Not bad, not great. Might come back if I’m in the area.
just ok. not worth the prices. never seen chirashi served on a plate and probably because it's not easy eating rice off a plate. baked scallop roll had some nutritionally challenged scallops, but flavors were fine. bento boxes were the better items to order than the sushi here.
Generally just so so. Sashimi's quality was not comparable with other restaurants. Sushi was okay, with too much rice. The only good one was agedashi tofu. The service is good and quick. Plates also look nice.

Staff is nice. Hate to write bad reviews but feel people should know what they’re getting into. The udon is inedible. I’ve never tasted a broth so fishy before. Tempura was fried with old, burnt oil. I don’t eat raw fish, but companions stated didn’t taste the best either. However, that’s sushi in America generally. Plus was the bathroom was super clean, but the place had a weird chemical smell.
Not sure what to say…🤔 I carefully read reviews on yelp this time, after all Yelp should be at least 50% genuine , right? Oops…. Well short story, this place is run by chinese , and you can definitely tell it has no Japanese restaurant vibe … zilch , zero… The salad in my bento box told part of the story, and the bland fish … but to top it all at 2:10 sharp ( 20 minutes before closing) the waiters were all communally seated , delicious chinese food and all the trappings of it, right in front of me , and loud conversation galore… in Chinese of course , making me wonder …. Which part of Japanese am i really experiencing here.. oh well …
I’ve come here about 5 times to give this restaurant the benefit of doubt. However the service and quality of care has been subpar consistently. The chefs and food are great! The servers and staff from entry to exit have been the worst. Every visit has often been filled with forgotten menu items ordered, inconsistent billing, and really confusing knowledge of their own menu. Wait times for ordering to food served is also a consistent 50 minute wait even on the most quiet days with one other diner. If they could improve on this, everything else would be worth visiting besides the good food.
This place was probably the worst place I have tried in all of the world. The customer service was rude and just down right the worst. I tried several items that they made for me because I was unable to place a order myself due to the lack of English that they can't speak. All of the items from sashimi, rolls, and specialty items were not good. It was the most bland and tasteless assortment of sushi I have ever had. This place should not even be a business. I normally find the good in most places but this place is horrible Do not waste your time.
1. Miso soup is very tiny, and it costed 4 dollars 2. When we got our Gyoza, it was cold. There was only bottom a little bit warm. We asked a waitress, and she took it for someone inside their kitchen. Then, she asked us wanted to cancel it or re-warm Gyoza. 3. Sashimi is okay, but there was a fresher sashimi restaurant in the Bay Area with the same price. 4. Hot tea before meal is good 5. Service is good

So the food was good, but my overall takeout experience was a NIGHTMARE, and I am very unhappy and disappointed. I ordered takeout at 5:52pm and the manager told me it would be around 30 mins and they will call me once the food is ready. I waited outside for 30 mins and my phone was about to die, so I checked with manager and he said he will check for me. However, he immediately distracted by other dine-in customers so I just kept waiting. At 6:43pm the manager told me my order should be ready in 10 mins or so. Until 7:12pm and after several checks with the manager, he told me the chiefs are making my order. I mean WTH?? So basically in the past hour they didn’t even start to prep my food!!! I ended up having my food at 7:21pm, which means my food only take less than 10 mins to get ready and they let me wait almost ONE HOUR AND A HALF.
I've been a regular here and at their first outfit in Cupertino for years. The fish is always fresh and the place is clean. My favorite dish is the omakase for $46. The fish slices are big and while the rice is always a tiny bit. Just the right amount. The service is usually very good and efficient. However I am posting this review today because of the service I received. Beware of the water flask! At the end of the meal I reached over to the water flask which the server had left on my table for my use. When I popped open the plastic lid, I noticed the lid and the surrounding area like the spout was a pink and slimy. It was mold or mildew just like on the wall or shower curtain of a damp bathroom! Ew. I quickly brought this to the server's attention. I specifically explained to her what the problem was and pointed it out to her. She looked at it and seemed a little alarmed and apologized. Then she put the lid back on and walked away. I waited to see if she would remove the flask or replace it. She didn't. Just stood there waiting for another service order. So I sat for 10 more minutes, paid my bill and left. Not once did she deal with the problem! I don't know if she is going to serve water from that flask again to the next patron. And this set me wondering about the condition of the other flasks and glass. This is disgusting and I'm quite sure a health code violation. I hope they do something about and train their staff better.
