Very delicious! You can order what you want, of course, but they will also bring around trays with what's just been cooked. (It's okay to say no thank you to the trays.) Wonderful flavors and textures.
This is one of the best value Cantonese restaurants in the Bay Area. Absolutely love their lobster noodles at only $18.99! It's cooked perfectly with 1 chopped up fresh lobster (about 1 lb), wonderful savory ginger scallion sauce, and el dente noodles. Their dim sum is also great and very reasonably priced. Great option for an authentic Cantonese experience when you don't want to splurge!
The food here is delicious from dim sum to dinner to catering. Gourmet House is one of my top three dim sum places in the Bay Area. They’re popular for dim sum so make sure you arrive early or be prepared to wait. I also enjoy eating the food in the evening off the a la carte menu. My favorite is the salt and pepper fried fish and yang chow fried rice. We also got catering from here for our wedding. They have a lot of vegetable dishes which supplemented my wife’s meat heavy Filipino foods. They even delivered to our wedding.
Staff is very friendly and the food is tasty. Best dim sum restaurant in Alameda County!
Wonderful dim sum. Freshest siu mai I ever had. All food was very flavorful. Service is quick and very friendly.
Food is great and portions are bigger than your usual dim sum places. Usually I would do 2.5 x number of people then round down to order the right amount of food but with this place you can do 1.5 x total persons then round up. Oolong tea used real leaves instead of a tea bag and got plenty strong near the end of the kettle. This is what we got: - Radish cake with XO sauce came out crispy and flavorful. - Hargow shrimp was really good and skin was thicker and flavorful - Shiumai was 1.5x bigger than usual - Steamed spareribs were not porky, taro slices were bigger too so you can actually eat it
Long story short, I really like their handmade desserts, specifically the mango and green tea crispy rice balls. It’s the perfect ending to an authentic dim sum meal.
We had order special menu fish in two ways: fry tofu. Fish ball. Olive vegetable (橄榄菜), lettuce dish, black fungus & locus cordyceps flowed/ vegetarian Portion is big, all dishes are very delicious and even forget to take pictures. I did take pictures for menus This is an excellent restaurant, definitely come back again!
Cantonese food with an authentic flavor (to me). Been there a few times and the servers are always polite. Been there two nights in a row. Last night they had taro sago sweet soup and tonight it was bean curd egg sweet soup. Will try to come back and try their other dishes and dimsum. I also agree with other reviews.
We came here on a whim after shopping next door at Osaka and were SO GLAD we did! The food is absolutely delicious, prepared perfectly, with fresh vegetables and ingredients. Definitely will come here again.
The food did not disappoint and was better than what we expected. The portion to the price is very reasonable compared to to some places that will skimp. This is not that place. The staffs are very friendly and nice too. Will definitely be going back if I’m in the area.
I was invited to dine here and I wanted to check on the reviews to see how good the foods were. The reviews weren't too good but not too bad either so my expectation of this restaurant wasn't very high. I was pleasantly surprised last night … the dishes that the dinner host ordered were soooooo delicious! True, we didn't eat the dim sum, we ordered dishes from the menu and shared with everyone. There was this sticky rice stuffed chicken was exceptionally tasty and good; the coconut, pear, chicken with herbs broth soup was so good also! Overall, I'll definitely come back again! I highly recommend this restaurant.

My favorite Chinese restaurant! I love coming here for brunch for dim sum and occasionally come for dinner or order food to-go.
The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the food is delicious! I’ve come here many times before, and will keep coming! The staff are very professional and courteous, they had an unexpected Monday lunch rush but are handling it very well. My favorites were BBQ pork buns, Mongolian beef rice wraps, beef chow fun, and sesame red seed buns!
ive been here many times, the service is friendly! the food is good, but since theres some bad reviews ill explain my experience so maybe you can also get a better one! my family had ordered fish one day, but it ended up not being very fresh. my dad decided to talk to one of the staff about it. he gave feedback on the fish not being fresh, and how they could “make it better”. (i dont know how to say it im not the best at english) the staff apologized and the boss even gave us a free dessert because of the issue! pretty nice huh, and the next day we ordered fish it was fresh! feedback is very helpful. you can do the same, but obviously dont just shove the complaint up their face. its clearly rude. overall, i’d def come here again, but if you had a pretty bad experience im sorry for you!! anyway have a good day :D

Extensive selection of Hong Kong, Cantonese, central china cuisines. Large portions, but generous amount of vegetables mixed with relatively small amounts of meat. We were there on a Tuesday night and staffing was a bit short. The servers were friendly snd helpful. Overall, it's a good, but not the best Chinese restaurant in the area. It offers great value for money.
Usually go there every two or three weeks. Great Dim Sum, and fair price. You can taste lobster with very low price. I took one star off is because the quality of Dim Sum is not stable, sometimes very good but sometimes okay. There is room to improve!
Food is excellent/ amazing! but the service is LOL. Extremely understaffed, the 3 staffs all looked stressed out and overworked with 12 tables and take out at the same time. Multiple customers had to get their own tea, bowls, and plates. During the 30 min waiting for our food, we saw a table arrived the same time as us, got up and leave because they didn't want to wait any longer. Expect to have little to no customer service. You should expect 15 min to have your order put in and another 15-30 min for your food to come. Beware*** don't come with a hungry stomach, you have been warned. To Management, your business is doing well, please hire more staff to maintain it.....
Pretty good dimsum especially the siumai and deep fried shrimp dumbling. Long wait as this is a popular restaurant on weekends. Prices have gone up multiple times recently.
Peking style porkchop is excellent, sweet and sour. Seafood tofu claypot, tofu is good but sauce is slightly salty. Pork with olive and green bean is very tasty. Free dessert is yam tapioca sweet soup. Waitress is friendly. The restaurant gets very noisy when packed.
This place has amazing dim sum and good service. $1 per person for tea, not bad. They also have $24 lobster noodles that I want to try next time. Wish I lived closer so I can come more often!
Hidden germ that I just discovered. I was there for the Chinese New Year Poon Choi on the first day with friends. OMG ... the taste perfectly duplicate what I had in Hong Kong Walled Village. Brought back lots of memories with family and old friends. Owner Norman and Tiffany serve very authentic Hong Kong style dishes for 10+ years in the area. Then the second day, I went there again with another group of friends for year end gathering meal. We ordered Braised Dried Oysters with Black Moss and a few other New Year dishes, my friend from Canada said that he tasted Mom's cooking style during the Chinese New Year and very impressed. He then booked another night for the Poon Choi. This place is now my home favour meal top pick. Will come again.
The dim sum portions were all quite generous, and everything tasted great. It’s definitely worth trying a variety of dishes. The only downside was the BBQ pork bun—the dough was a bit tough and could use some improvement. But everything else was absolutely delicious!
Located next door to Osaka Japanese market, gourmet house is the the latest establishment to occupy this relatively small space. Prices are moderate and the food is pretty good but the definition of good is as always subjective. We came here for dim sum and lunch. We thought the dim sum was done well. There are a fair number of items to choose from and the dim sum appears to be made in house. The steamed buns were excellent. We liked most of the items we ordered. Definitely consider the lobster noodles special. The lobster was fresh and noodles were cooked properly. Its a good deal for $24 considering a bowl of pho will cost you about $16. We didn't go for dinner but gourmet house in Fremont fits the bill if you're looking for a nice Chinese lunch. It may not be cheap Chinese food but its pretty good. For about $50 to $60 I suppose two people can enjoy a lobster noodle lunch along with 2 or 3 dimsum dishes. I think that's a pretty good deal these days.
Classic dim sum with a lot of local customers. Food taste is average. Price is reasonable. Service is a bit lacking. No water refill offered. Not all items ordered on dim sum menu were entered into the computer.
Gourmet House is an enjoyable Chinese restaurant with an all-day dim sum option. The price is slightly higher than usual, but it’s worth it. The food quality is good. The facilities are clean. The staff is professional and offers good service. Best of all, the dim sum menu comes with pictures — for those of us who don’t speak / read Chinese!
This restaurant offers great Cantonese food for good price. Offers multi-course banquet style dinners, lunch plates and dim sum.
Tofu oysters pot is good. Pretty authentic Cantonese food. Free dinner dessert!

Tofu oysters pot is good. Pretty authentic Cantonese food. Free dinner dessert!
Reasonable even with price increase. Egg white scallop rice wasn't as good as before. Egg custard abd mango mochi still very tasty. Both dine in and take out.
Great place for dimsum - very consistent taste and quality throughout the menu!
quite busy if you come on the weekend. Food is decent, but the atmosphere needs some improvement. a little crowded and not too much service.
Dim sum is average, service nice but very slow, it took maybe 20 minutes to get our check and 10 minutes to get my credit card back. The Malaysian vermicelli is good, the pork rice rolls are not very good, the inside had an odd texture, fish balls pretty good. The shrimp and scallops dumpling was average. We kept getting items for other tables brought to us, so maybe go here if you want free food you didn't order. ;-)
The food is good and good portion. however the service really need to to be improved. I arrived right before they opened, one of the first customers got in the restaurant, when I got in the restaurant I thought they were only doing take out( the lights were off, no one greeting at the front. Staff arrived late- I saw them arrive after I sat down, same people who served me) It look more than one hour to get the first dish when other tables arrived at the same time or even later got food before my table. Be prepared to familiar with their menu online before you arrive, don’t expect to have too much conversation regarding clarifying any of your question if you don’t speak Cantonese.
Food was decent given their reasonable prices compared to other dim sum places, but service is of low quality - some of the aunties there can be really sassy and they will try to teach you lessons as if they were our Asian moms 🤷🏻♀️and pick on your actions even if they were with good intention - for example i tried to move stuff out of their way to help them, but then was judged as she thought i couldnt wait to eat 🤣 later she tried to amend her multiple comments by giving my child compliment - come on, a simple apology would just be enough. Clearly I have my own mom to judge me, and i won't come back unless i really need to. I am tempted to leave a lower rating, but whatever…
Tried dim-sum and lobster noodle. Dimsum items did not taste good, they tasted under cooked (I tried many places before so I know to compare). Lobster noodle disappointed. Looked good, lobster was ok, the noodle taste was flat . Rude service. Not coming back there.
I love the fried rice dishes here. Their thin noodle stir fry dishes looked good but it misses the mark for beef chow fun and dim sum for me. Dim sum is okay. Not bad but not great. Beef chow fun was too greasy without good wok chi. The soy sauce flavor was not able to come through. Although not too salty and the beef used is generous and not low quality. Their fried rice has better wok chi and flavor is on point.
They have an extensive menu, and I must have ordered the wrong thing. Their seafood soup seemed sweet sour sauce or sweet chil sauce based. Starch for thickening, tofu and seafood including lobster bits. If they bring you anything to the table they will charge you for it. Small dish of fish was half the price of an entire meal and not that great.
(Lunch, Feb 17th 2025) Food was decent, but was a bit pricey per person (ended up at $40/person).

The menus offer dim sum and regular Chinese items. Food quality is average and priced as other restaurants. Service is slow especially at lunch- inadequate wait staff. Kitchen may be slow also. Noisy atmosphere with chatters bounced from wall.
Service is slow. The food was mediocre If I ordered a drink she would just leave without asking if anyone else at the table would want one. They eat their lunches at the tables in the restaurant and talk so loud you can’t hear the TVs they have on such a low volume. Soup dumplings taste like medicine the only good items were the dessert items and select dim sum. Not a good first experience and not recommending to my friends
While the restaurant is very busy Sat night, it took us (table of 2) OVER an hour to get three dishes. Two of the three are cold for some portion of the plate. If you don’t want to wait a long time and eat cold dishes, I’d avoid eating at this place.
This restaurant sounds very crowded and noisy. Each table so near . My friend said they could get a reservation online, but the waiter said they didn't taking any reservations . The quality of the food is not good, it feels like frozen food. We ordered lobster pasta, which was very tasteless. The noodles had no texture at all , The lobster meat was soft and soggy and should have been frozen. I don’t think I will come back here again.

Wish I could tell you about the food but we’ve been sitting here at a table for 40 mins, being ignored. No food is good enough to justify the lack of service and overall brash rudeness from the people working here, I promise.
We ordered noodle with lobster. That's the WORST NOODLE I have ever had! I doubt if they actually cooked the noodle, because it was very hard and dry. It's like you just get things from the refrigerator, and put the cold and dry things in the dish, without let it soak water or soup in a boil. Then we asked for rice, but it took half an hour to get us the rice. Very unprofessional restaurant and awful taste.
I ordered lobster noodles and the owner told me that the lobster is alive. But the lobster is dead and tastes disgusting. I confront the owner and she insists the lobster is alive which is lying. Some vegetables are rotted.
