Love the broth of seafood ramen with just the right level of spiciness! The servers were attentive and I appreciate the cleanliness of the tables and utensils. A side order of fries with cheese and fried pot stickers were excellent! My friend liked his bbq chicken, but I was informed that the other chicken dish is a must to try next time. There are lots of food you can get on the go. This will be my go-to place for Korean fusion in this town.

This is a great casual dining spot for Korean fusion. Venture outside of your comfort zone & try something new each time you visit. Its ALL good. The service is friendly & inviting each time.

Foods were good especially the beef burger. Price almost reasonable. Staff was friendly and polite. Lots of parking spots. I went there twice in my short stay at Fremont.

If you're looking for some fusion Korean food, you can't go wrong with this place. They also serve some bar food like gimbap, which is not often offered in many Korean restaurants around here. I love their spicy pork and the tonkatsu dish. On the TV they usually play sports or some K-Pop. Take your pick :) This place is also good for groups and you can order one of those big bowls of stew which can be shared with many people. Perfect for this cold weather. I usually come by myself so I just order the individual dishes. Another dish that I love is their variety of cold noodles. It will definitely refresh you up during those hot summer days.

Nice little spot. Food was good. Place had a table for us (party of 11) at 8 pm on a Sunday. Got really busy around 930/10. If I'm in the area I would come back!

This restaurant opens quite late (1 AM). Servers are nice. It seems to be Korean family owned / operated. It's good to hear K-pop also

I enjoy doing take-out here, they're always really nice on the phone and were accommodating when I wanted my dishes meat / non-meat to be kept separate. I love to get their kimbap.

AmaIng experience and food. Amazing late night dinner option. Also a lot of good options for vegans. Do try their glass noodles.

Ordered their fried chicken to-go. We had the original and garlic flavor. The chicken itself was well done. The chicken tasted fresh and juicy. The batter was well coated, didn't feel too thick. The garlic flavor was our favorite. The season was just right. The original on the other side was a little too normal, but still taste good if you prefer to not have any sauce. We would come back here for the spicy one next time! Didn't dine in, so couldn't comment on the atmosphere, but walking into the restaurant, it feels like a casual setting.

Everything was honestly great, I have no complaints! The star of our dinner was honestly the fries. The meat was tender, definitely not dry at all. I loved the soup, especially since it is now winter weather.

This place opens and closes late. Perfect for late night dinners. Since it was our first visit we went overboard with orders. We tried the beef bulgogi, kimchi pancakes, pork rolls, fries, KFC, army stew and the drink which is sufficient for the table. All were excellent. Excellent value for money and excellent vibe. My only regret was I hadn't tried this place before!! There is a long wait which is understandable due to the quality and price it offers. Keep up the great business. Highly recommended!!

PSA: they have Dak Galbi here now and its pretty good! I guess tbh it could use a bit more chicken compared to vegetables and rice cakes but the sauce and the preparation otherwise is pretty legit. I would probably normally give this 4 stars but I really love Dak Galbi and its usually non-existent or quite disappointing so I was very excited they had it! Service was really friendly too.

Went here last night after picking up a friend and running 4 miles. I got the bulgogi rice place because I haven't had bulgogi in a while. Pretty good! Waitress was nice too. I'd come back again

Loved every plate. Wings in sweet and spicy sauce are very good, peanuts in the sauce gives them a nice kick. Vegetarian pancake is very good too. Service is good, they forgot one plate but worked on it pretty quick. A little cold ambience for me.

The food and service was spectacular! The lighting could be better during the night but overall, i had a great experience. Started with the bulgogi roll and cheese corn. Both were delicious and fulfilling. Then got the Soo Ja burger with regular fries and it came with their signature sauce that you can basically dip with everything! (Always ask for extra) Lastly, I got the half and half fried chicken with the finger licking sauces, garlic and the sweet and spicy. I high recommend all of these dishes. This is also enough food for about 4 people to share!

Soo Ja offers terrific Korean fusion food and is open quite late which is nice and not too common in the bay. I got the kimchi pancake and fries while my friend got the corn cheese. The kimchi pancake, which is fully vegetarian, was quite filling on its own and can definitely be shared - stuffed with veggies, cooked quite well to have a nice crispy yet firm texture, and presented nicely too. The corn cheese is an interesting concept and not something I've seen before. Fries were as expected, pretty decent. They've got quite a bit of seating inside as well and service was top notch. I'll definitely be visiting in the future for late night eats!

My usual late night, korean food place to go to with my siblings & friends. Food is amazing and their service is good. My younger brother likes their Soo Ja bulgogi burger. Chicken wings are on point 🔥 definitely recommend going with half & half (garlic & sweet n spicy flavors). Spicy rice cakes, seafood ramen, regular or stone pot bibimbap are my always to get dishes. I've had their rice wine cocktails so far, Strawberry & Mango are my favorite, & their regular Mango soju drink☺️. Soo Ja is definitely must try, all their dishes are good and delicious, ambience is nice & good spot to hang out with friends for late night drinks & Korean food.

Korean fusion place that is open from dinner to late night making it a great late hangout or dinner place. Fried chicken ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: the garlic fried chicken is as good as any other Korean fried chicken place. Sweet chili was also good but not my favorite flavor of fried chicken. Kimbap ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: got the bulgogi and pork katsu flavors. I preferred the katsu personally. Rice cake ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: I'm usually not the biggest fan of tteokbokki but this place definitely makes a good one! Especially with cheese on top. It also comes with fish cake and kimchi inside.

My family and I went to Soo Ja last night for the first time since moving to the area a few months ago and everything was DELICIOUS! The clear noodles with bulgogi, the Fried shrimp sushi and the bibimbap 10/10. I want to go back today!! But sadly, I cannot. Give them a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Food was very good and place has plenty of parking. We got the hot stone bibimbap and spam/shrimp fried rice. If you're looking for a late meal then check this place out cause they're open till 1am. They also had anime (Kimetsu no Yaiba) playing on the TV. 🤙🏼

Not at all crowded on a weeknight. The food is always good to great across the board, their Soo Jia fries especially. I tried their peach rice wine cocktail and it was a really nice balance of sweet and alcoholic. Still need to try the tacos and the burgers but it's hard with all the tried and trues.

Ordered to go both times, and surprisingly, even with to-go, I wasn't pleased with their service. The second time being better than the first, but they just seem so grumpy here. With that said, the food, is yummy! That's why I'm sticking with 4 stars. Their menu seems to have a ton of Korean items, so it was so hard to choose. Per everyone's recommendation, I did order the corn cheese the first time, and as a corn lover, I did not like this at all. The cheese was way too overwhelming. So, contrary to what everyone has said, I think you should only order the corn cheese if you REALLY like cheese. Aside from that, the japchae (glass noodles) is SO good..... SO, SO good. I love how flavorful it is, and that their portion is generous. I would come back just for this. Their gal-bi (short rib) entree, gal-bi kimbap (rolls), and bibimbap were all very good as well. I didn't find anything I did not like, and find myself finding excuses to come back. So glad they opened up in Fremont!

Been here many times. This place is legit and opens later than many restaurants in the area. It's great place for a late night snack. It's more of a bar food vs. Korean BBQ. What do get: budae jjigae if you like spice and kimbap rolls you want a fusion. Their cheese corn is pretty good as well. Service is great even with one or two servers. Overall, it's a solid place and deserves a visit.

This is the cursed spot of Fremont/Newark. I've been to every single food business that tried to make it work. I sincerely hope this place lasts more than a year. Came here on a Tuesday afternoon, ordered a bulgogi meal along with Sapporo. The meal came as a dome of rice, bulgogi, and a small salad with dressing. Salad was fine, crisp lettuce, light dressing, and for some reason, 3 blueberries. Bulgogi was pleasant, not at all overly marinated and excessively sweet. It had a good balance of sweet and savory flavor. One small criticism is that the Sapporo is $8, which is on the high side of beer. Korean restaurants are usually slightly more expensive than typical Asian sit-downs, the food quality and service can make up for it. I just didn't expect this to also reflect on the beer. I imagine this to be because did the Sapporo was even $2 cheaper, patrons are more likely to order Japanese beer over the Korean soju, but that's just speculations. Overall, I'm coming back. The food was good, severs were attentive, and they open late.

Came here with a friend who told me they had a good burger. I was doubtful at first but willing to try it... the soo ja burger was a really good burger a worth a try I might come back with some friends to try out there soo ja fries and they did something with the ketchup that it was spicy but good combination of spicy and sweet

I've only really had tteokbokki there but I like it. They have one with cheese and charge extra for it. I prefer it without cheese anyway. I believe they also have some basic gimbap. Nothing too fancy, but enough to get you a happy belly.

One of many Korean restaurants in the Bay Area we had to try on our list. This one had a good list of choices and their dishes were pretty big except the chicken wings which always seem to always take the longest to cook. The garlic wings were good but some pieces so tiny that they should not count towards the fifteen pieces. The seafood pancake was good flavor and good size. I really liked the kimchi fried rice, spicy pork and Premium LA Kalbi. The Steamed Egg had no flavor and it had too much soup in it which I thought was weird. We ordered sodas and their Lychee Cocktail for twenty bucks which was a carafe pitcher size. It was pretty good and strong; nothing fancy. We also ordered Bibimap which was pretty big. Choice this Korean restaurant for mom's bday and was satisfied. The prices were on the expensive side. Not a place for a date as it's loud here but good for groups and drinking. Service is ok. They forgot one of our items but at least, they didn't charge us; we did have a big group though. Haha they even told us politely that we had to go as they had awaiting customers. The place is small, and can get crowded fast so I recommend to come early but lots of parking available.

The food was delicious but hard to choose. It was my first time at this restaurant, and I asked the server for advice, but he wasn't helpful at all. Definitely would go back for the fried rice, and the soup was pretty good, but too much for two people. When it was time to get our bill, the server was very short with us and practically tossed things onto the table. I understand they were busy, but it wasn't our fault.

Went here on a Sunday night. We ordered Bulgogi tacos, seafood pancake, and seafood ramen to share for two. The bulgogi tacos came in three and they were huge; a little bit too much lettuce on top to be honest but they were delicious! Loved the broth for the seafood ramen. Pancake was fluffy and plenty of seafood, didn't even need the sauce that came with it. Came here because my usual spot closed early but I think I will be back here again for those pancakes.

Some food taste great, like the chicken wings, bibimbap and pancakes. Some just taste ok or awful, such as the fried squid (very oily and little flavor) and kimchi fried rice (dry and taste just ok). Service is great tho,

I’ve been a regular here and always enjoyed the gimbap, but I was a bit disappointed during my recent visit. I understand that prices have increased due to inflation, the gimbap is now $12~13, up from $8~$9(in 2022). While price hikes are expected, I did notice that the quality seemed a bit different compared to before. I hope the quality can return to the high standard I used to love, especially considering the new price point.

The place isn't even busy and the service is slow. I ordered a beer and it never came; my food came out before the beer. Another table who has been here before us, got two beers as soon as they ordered it. I asked another waiter about the beer and either: 1) she did not hear me because the music was too loud or 2) she didn't understand As for the food, we had seafood pancake, bulgogi rice, and pork katsu. Two thumbs down. All bland.

Slow service. the servers are kinda ditzy and washes dishes facing a wall instead of paying attention to the customers. waited 27minutes for to-go food inside. food was out and bagged, but the servers where too busy doing other things to let me know or bring the food to me. i had to get up and ask for my food after other customers food came out. wont be coming here again!

The one star was for the restaurant billing system. It charges “service charge “ of 18% without mentioned to client. Then listed tip guide for additional tips。Other than the not straightforward billing, the rest is fine. A business practice should be reviewed by the owner.

Tonight there was a terrible smell in this restaurant that I can't imagine wouldn't have cleared out the place. An employee was mopping a puddle in the walkway from the door to the register and I was forced to walk through the mystery stank to pick up my food. Seriously vile. My M-95 mask did nothing.

READ THIS BEFORE GOING: The food and service was alright (6/10), nothing special or exceptionally good. I came with a party of 5 and we ordered 4 OVERPRICED dishes. This is a bare bones, casual restaurant that charges more than jang su jang (which has way better food and the servers check on your table frequently) for the same dishes. When we asked for the bill, we were only given the credit card receipt that asks you to sign. This doesn’t have a breakdown of all the items prices and charges. We signed and gave them a 15% tip as suggested. However, we were surprised at the bill being more than $115 for 4 dishes (cheese corn, bulgogi pancake, soft tofu soup, and wings). We then asked for the itemized receipt and discovered that there was a surprise 18% service charge automatically added. This was not mentioned anywhere on the menu and we were not told/made aware of this until we asked. I’ve been to other restaurants with service charges before but the cashier either tells us straight up or it was explicitly stated on the menu that there is a service charge and what that money is used for. Does anyone know if this is legal? I’ve seen many people complain about this on soo ja’s yelp but not on google. So TLDR: 18% service charge + 15% tip = 33% extra for subpar food and service. I will not be coming back.
