Used to come here once a week when I was in high school. Still a great place for a quick bite and dessert.

I just moved from the east coast and was craving Dairy Queen but unfortunately Fresno no longer has one. However, I came across Fosters Freeze and I must say, the taste is pretty comparable. Customer service was great and my ice cream really was good!

Delicious food. Most employees and very friendly. Neighborhood is a little iffy but is no reflection of this restaurant. I strongly recommend. Typically get my special orders correct.

Sundays are my Favorite for the banana split special. Each night I go Anthony is such a sweet sweet guy. No matter how busy they are he always smiles and greets . Makes each visit a great experience. Ice creams are so delicious!

Had to give the atmosphere 2 stars. Only because of the homeless people that surround the restaurant. Other than that. I give this location a 10/10.

I visited with 15 girls from my high school soccer team. Most had never been to a Fosters Freeze. They loved the food and shakes plus the service was fast, which was great since we were in between tournament games.

Still one of the best places to have yummy thick shakes. Add real fruit, chunky and thick and creamy. Banana- Strawberry or Triple Berry. My favorites. They have a wonderful variety of flavors.

Their chocolate dipped cones are unlike any other honestly! It’s always been my favorite, since I was a kid. Whenever I am craving ice cream, fosters is the first place I think of.

All I have to say is the women at the Drive thru gal I think her name was Priscilla. She always has a smile and greets her customers. It’s RARE to get this. It goes along way. This is why I continue to come to this Foster Freeze. Thank you Priscilla

The food here is gr8. Just remember that when you order here you may wait a little but only because they start cooking it when you order. The young man at the drive thru was polite and our food was hot.

I come here on a regular basis. The food is always great, and the staff are quite friendly. Even when they've been swamped my food never takes long, giving me plenty of time to eat during lunch breaks.

Old fashioned burgers and fries. The hand dipped cones are so good I always get half and half ice cream (chocolate &vanilla) They also have a value menu with hot dogs, fries, cones, etc... The ladies who work at the counter are nice and food is always made to order.

We ordered deserts. The girls had vanilla cones and I very much enjoyed a banana split. It was so good weren't able to add pictures.

I took the grandkids for soft serve cones at FF and they never disappoint. You've got to have to have a goodtime with ice cream!

Still one of the best places to get more for your money. Their hamburgers are larger than most other fast food places and their sides are huge compared to all the other fast food and even some sit down restaurants.

I was really surprised by the friendliness of staff...the young lady also reminded us as to their value menu...Great...the fries and chicken strip were flavorful and crispy. The deep frying was fresh and not mixed with sea food oil...which was a great suprise. Clean..bright...

The young lady at the drive through was very polite and cheerful, which is rare to find in the fast food realm But the place was very clean. We got chocolate dipped ice cream. They were dipped perfectly.

Really cool place that is out the way and really cherishes the 'old school' approach when it comes to their food choices. Plus this place doesnt really get that much traffic so if you dont mind paying the price this place could be a great get away from work or the kids. Their ice cream is the absolute best!

I think they definitely have better french fries than most of the popular burger places. They serve large crinkle fries not thin and they give out larger portions then the other burger places. I tend to order a Happy Meal when i pull a drive thru..but dang...what happened to the fries in kids meals? Fries are barely there...iguess the kids meals needed parental guidance2

A must visit food place! Lets start off with the prices, yes they aren't cheap but what you're paying for is quality! You may have to wait a bit longer than you are used to but thats because they are making everything fresh. Not only that but the workers give customer service that is above and beyond. You can tell everyone employed here loves their job and trust me when I say it shows. They are only open through the drive thru so the wait times are a bit elongated due to that but if you can wait it out then you are in for a real treat!

great customer service very nice employees, but the drive thru mic's need to be replaced. you can't hear them and they can't hear you. It sounded so broken up and choppy while I was trying to order that I just canceled my order altogether. No one's fault except the owners. You can't make any money if you can't hear your customer's order

We were the only two persons in the restaurant. Our food was ready quickly, was hot, and very good. It has a wide variety of milkshakes including my favorite, peanut butter.

If you have not been into this foster freeze do not let the area fool you. This place was immaculate clean and spotless inside. I was surprised on how clean the bathroom is. The whole kitchen just looks clean and I even cleaned the table extra good before I left I felt bad leaving anything on there lol. The food was even better we even ordered more food for my son who is autistic and doesn't usually enjoy food from these types of places

I had only used the drive-through previously, but ventured inside, and boy, what a treat. Beautifully maintained in a style reminiscent of the 50s era. The food was delicious, and one of my favorites, a root beer shake, was great. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

Went there 09/09/2025 around 6pm. Whoever makes the twisters, there the best here in Fresno. I drive across town cause the other one's don't come close to how these one's are made.

I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, but I haven’t been back here since the 80s. I got myself a boss burger combo when I walked in. PriscillaT greeted me with a smile and she was so happy and it’s so good to see people still love what they do.. Alyssa was also working. Very nostalgic for me. I've been going to this place since I was 6 yrs old. So that's 57 yrs for anyone counting, same location. It has changed over the years. But same great food and staff. Really great hamburgers on Monday 2 for 4 special for a really cheap price. Way better quality then McDonald’s and better taste then in n out. Service was very quick, food was ready right when I pulled up to the window. Only place with crinkle fries

Good food. I went in to place my order and after I did, it occured to me the gal didnt ask for here or to go. Another lady(manager?) presented me with the food and when I said I'm sorry that was to go, she got a look of irritation on her face but proceeded to bag it up and begrudgingly gave me 2 ranch cups- as I had two orders

My daughter & I went & we got candy freezes, chii cheese fries & mikshakes. We bought 2 shakes & got a small shake free, and I had a special request for my shake & the lady was super nice about it & made it exactly how I asked...The employees are super nice there & the food is really good.

I really enjoyed the banana split I ordered. I really like this place. It's a hole in the wall, but it's a great hole in the wall. I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised.

Comfort food for sure, this place has been around forever. I remember going here when I was in high school. Over all the food is always good but it seems to take forever to get your food once you order.

The dine in wasn't open but drive through was. The lady at the window was so nice and smiled the whole time. So friendly. My meal was good. Love the fries and a juicy burger.

Foster Freeze has been around since I was a kid. They have dollar cone Wednsdays which is an affordable delicious treat to combat the summer heat. Authentic decor friendly staff and clean restrooms....what more do ya need. Please...go freeze...Foster Freeze. I love it and so will you

It was really good. The fries are legendary. So amazing. My son had a burger and I had a chicken sandwich. My 4 stars is because this is fast food and it was about 30 dollars for us to eat. That's bananas!

Foster freeze is one of the most expensive fast food. Can't even get a break on a soda.... over $3 for a 16 oz soda.

Their food is good in the classic greasy burger joint kind of way. But, this location especially is always slow.

I am very disappointed with the burger buns. They are too sweet and the burger doesn't taste like a traditional burger. I was a regular. No longer. I'll try In and Out, and Carl's or Triangle.

The food is good but the customer service inside was less than desirable. I was never greeted with a smile. I said thank you when my food was done but no smile no you're welcome nothing.

The place was not busy inside, the cook had a bad attitude. The drive thru was busy, but most were ordering ice cream. If the cook can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen. Next time I will go to a different place.

I got what I wanted but it was nothing special. I actually wanted to sit indoors but the dinning area was closed in the middle of the afternoon on a Friday. So I had to use the drive thru. I sat at the speaker box for about a minute before someone finally asked for what I wanted. So yeah it was good for the general items of what they have but the experience was less then desirable.

Listen, I'm over the whole COVID hysteria. However, one big thing that the pandemic has taught me is to take sanitation and the handling of food very seriously. I will never eat here again. The workers aren't wearing gloves. They handle the register and your food orders as they come in. That's a big NO-NO to me. Two ladies came from the rear of the restaurant and proceeded to touch the cash register and then the food. They only thing I deemed appropriate to eat was my fries and the burger patty itself. The fries came straight from the grease, and the patty wasn't touch except with a spatula. I'll pass on this location for now on.

Oh God please go to another restaurant.. should of know by the area.. cold food.. undercooked fries.. overcooked onion rings and hot dog.. for 30 bucks you would think I could get some hot food. Haha management said that's the way it goes.. lousy

It smell like homeless people live there it was dirty and the food was nasty and they didn't have real chicken strips like the other locations The area was bad and the workers didn't too much clean up nothing and the bathroom was disgusting and the tables were dirty

Been here since 8 (in drive threw) ordered a banana split and a twister. It has been 15 minutes they asked if out order was "such and such" we say no and repeat our order again. Female employee laughs and says oh it's just ice cream (window left open) worst service. Will drive a father distance for better service.

Terrible, ordered a Sunday without vanilla, just chocolate and strawberry ice cream. After an half hour wait was given an all vanilla ice cream Sunday. I was asked if i wanted her to redo it, i said no. I don't want anyone getting angry and do something to my food. It was awful. No taste, I don't like vanilla ice cream, threw it away after two bites.

My wife ordered a strawberry & banana smoothie at night around 9:30pm & she noticed it later it had a big WAD OF HAIR around the cup, hidden by napkins just AWFUL

This place has to be the worst Foster Freeze in town. Waiting a half-hour for two grilled cheeses? Within that half hour I seen them mess up two peoples orders, not even including my friend who ordered after me. They charged him for extra bacon and didn't put bacon on it and than tried to charge him again for bacon. Very unsatisfied.

First time trying Fosters freeze and my last. To be fair I didn't get to eat it because I only received fried and a shake with no burger. The shake was just ok. Friends that got their burgers all said they were dry. Had to try it once

Not only is there turn over high, so are their employees. And oddly enough, their buns and food are terrible after that family dollar behind them closed…. Definitely don’t recommend them. They’re too expensive for the food they have. Better deal by going to Colorado Grill.

Always come here drive thru but today decided to eat indoor. On the table we sat we notice about 7 Flys just sitting on the table, As we got our food Flys kept coming not. Letting us eat. Their was so many to the point we couldn't eat and it was unpleasant. Service is good but seeing that many Flys we saw today in a restaurant. I don't think thats sanitary seeing many Flys.

It's unfortunate that as prices increase the quality of food seems to have an inverse relationship at this Fosters. I ordered the chili burger and there was just enough chili to cover bun and layered thick enough to barely even know it was a chili burger. Got hamburger as well and that was ok. Point is that the quality has gone done from previous times and boy is it pricey. I don't mind the price so much if the foods good, but this visit set me back 22.00 and it was definitely not worth it. So much so that I don't think I'll care to go back. Reason being that I'm sure they feel the impact of prices going up to, but they made a calculated decision to lower the amount and how they prep the meals is not what it was. To give an example if u go to the Foster's off Ashland and 99, i ordered the same thing 2 weeks ago and it was night and day. Now i understand prices going up, but if that's the case don't increase and decrease the quality and quantity to make sure u take home profit. U did take home some profit but u also lost a customer and eventually u will get it, then again u'll have no choice when customers just stop comimg. Wishing u guys luck and hopefully u do make it through these tough times...

When I'd visit this place is was always through the drive thru and it was for their Wednesday special on their ice cream cones ( just once, I decided to get a chicken sandwich, which was actually pretty good)! One day, my mother and I decided to go in and order, low and behold...I saw no glove usage, cash handling and assembling burgers with their BARE HANDS -no handwashing in between cash handling and making food, the employee wiping her hands on her jeans. Everyone making the food just looked dirty! The owner was helping us at the cash register, the other gal was working the drive thru...I was acting funny and the owner noticed, my mom mentioned to her what I had saw and her response was...."well, you don't have to eat here. Gloves aren't a requirement"! Okay...so we dipped and to never return.

Food is definitely not like it used 2 be..burgers are sloppy too much sauce..fries are greasy .and banana split is definitely smaller and sloppy whip cream runny oh and they let homeless ppl stay inside and bugging customers.definately won't be back
