We went out for a walk on sauger pine trail and on our way back we stopped for breakfast at Papie's Mex Grill. Nothing like staring with chips and salsa. The salsa took me back to an old restaurant we loved, Fajita Fiesta, just the right amount of hot and spicy, not too hot to stop eating, just the right amount too keep you coming back for more. The stake and eggs were very good. It made the walk worth while.

We landed at Fresno airport and were headed to Yosemite and stopped here for lunch. There weren’t too many options in the area and this place had the best reviews of the food places in the shopping center. The food was actually very good, large portions, free chips and salsa, and the our server was also good. The worst part was all the flies flying around bc they have a big open window with outdoor bar seats that face into the restaurant. My husband and I shared the fajitas for two, which was really good. They only give 2 tortillas per person and there is a lot of meat so we asked for more tortillas and they charged $2.50 for extra tortillas, just fyi. My son got the chicken enchiladas and my daughter got the shredded beef burrito. Both were large and they said they were good. Would recommend.

I generally like this place, good food with friendly service. Unfortunately, I don't like their green sauce which is unfortunate being everything else was good! The enchiladas (verdes) pork was really good & would order that anytime! All in all: Good food, friendly service & good atmosphere.

Our waitress Jessica, was very attentive and took the time to explain the menu. She answered all our food related questions. The food was delicious and authentic. The homemade tortillas were hot and fresh. 😋 Highly recommend Papi Mex Grill.

Happy Hour food was just ok. Lacked seasoning, but was fairly inexpensive. Micheladas were great, and bartenders were pleasant. Would go again for drinks only.

Tried Papi's and it was pretty good. I went with the surf and turf as it seems to be the most popular menu item. It didn't disappoint. The steak was chargrilled and a little tough but the flavor was good. I asked for extra sour cream and it was pretty good. Visited on a Saturday afternoon and they were pretty busy. They offer outside dining and seem to have a banquet room as well. I saw a lot of tequila so would love to try one of their margaritas. The burrito had steak, rice, beans, sour cream on the side and shrimp inside the burrito. They serve with side lettuce I guess for those that want lettuce. It came with salsa and chips. Salsa was strong. Packed with flavor I added to my burrito and it was okay. Outside of the dry meat it was pretty good. I would order again. Wouldn't rush back but looks like a fun place to dine. It's near Yosemite Ranch and Press Box.

I have been going to this neighborhood restaurant for 20 plus years as soon as this place opened up, became my favorite. But it all changed about 5 years ago. I used to come for business lunches, bring friends and family. What changed is the quality of food, and quantity both went down and prices went up which is understandable as food cost have gone up. This review is not as much as for public it is for the owners also. You order food, spend about $25-$30 for 1 person's meal and all you get is one tiny salsa and food quality is very inconsistent. I had brought this to owner's attention and their answer rudely is food cost have gone up. Here is the picture of my most recent order to go. This is 3 chicken enchiladas meal. From this point on I have decided to stop coming here, and found a better place to satisfy my Mexican food craving. Papi's thank you for doing business with you. I prefer not to leave a negative review, but this was imp for me to let the owner and public know.

The photos for the wet burritos looked so good but tasted okay. The best thing out of the 3 was the pollo fries which were delicious. We also grabbed a few margaritas which was a little too sour for my taste. Overall great customer service and attentive staff.

Updated review: the bottom part is what happened on 9/3/23, so went back to pick up my refund and that female manger that accused me of cursing at her, Her manager came out and he was more polite took me to the side and told me im not banned and i never cussed which what i was accused for, but the menu has changed (which i dont believe i ordered same thing 5 days ago and i got a full order not half like todays) so I wont be going back since I always order Fajita for two and now its for one and its $45 bucks. Too rich for my blood to pay $80 for lunch for two😡 that is ridiculous I will try one more time maybe they didnt see they messed up and if I was wrong I will CHANGE THE REVIEW!! Til that day comes this is how i feel Earlier: The manager is extremely rude, they were so busy they didnt realize they shorted our food and she accused me of cussing at her and im no longer welcome to order there and I did not cuss not my style all I wanted was the remainder of the food and i am not even getting that. Very rude. The servers are much more polite then the manager, Bad enough they raised there prices again and they never update the site I had to pay more get way less I thought with Chevys and my other fav mexican restaurants closed thought i had found a new one but the food is great the service 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼 I just ordered a week prior and it was excellent today was terribble What is in pictures below was the Fajita for 2 order, it was less food then before for more 🤷🏻‍♀️

Not only did they ignore my fiance when she first went in and said hi, the girl at the front had poor customer service skills! the beans tasted like fish and gas. The rice was dry, the chile verde was flavorless but salty. The nacho dish was mostly gas/fish taste beans and burnt chips. This place went down hill

I usually come here late for drinks and always have a great experience, but recently it hasn’t been the same. The bartender was not very friendly and seemed irritated when I asked for silverware, even though I understand they were busy. Hello, don’t know how to reply back other than editing the review. The location was on Champlain & occurred last Thursday.

We've given a LOT of leeway to restaurants given their closures and limited recovery but this last visit to Papi's, was terrible. We had a small wait (maybe 13 minutes) after arrival for outdoor seating. Once we for there, the wait for chips and water was too long. We waited longer for our drink to arrive and place our order. The food took the normal amount if time but our main server never checked in. Another server refilled our water once. Main server took our umbrella as we were in shade and nearly took my head off. Quick apology and then she disappeared again. We had to flag her down for our check. The only thing that made me give them a 2 star rating was the salsa. We give as much grace as we can but the mess ups were too many, despite COVID-19!
