I was able to get a table without a reservation, but I do recommend making one for the future. I had a really nice experience here. The atmosphere was nice and cozy, and the staff were friendly and attentive. However it was awfully loud. My favorite dishes were the kale salad and the squid ink linguine, both were fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. I’d definitely come back and recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal.
The food and service was absolutely wonderful! I loved the spicy soppressata pizza with extra fresh basil added and the sage advice cocktail was the best I've ever had. It was hard to hear conversation at the table once the restaurant became packed but everything else was amazing.
We have heard such great buzz about them and they DEFINITELY did not disappoint. The hype is justified!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We were a party of four, we all ordered something different, we tried two different cocktails, 1 recommended white wine and 3 different desserts, EVERYTHING was on point, amazing and super delicious!!! Our server was EXCELLENT, very attentive, he checked on us as cocktails/wine came out, our entrée and then desserts. He always made sure everything was good and had good recommendations. The vide was awesome, good music, perfect volume and the pace of our experience was just right. I can't wait to go back and enjoy more of their delicious options!!! 😋
Came here for a date night with my boyfriend for the first time and everything was astounding. Firstly, the pasta is handmade and the texture of the lamb ragu was amazing and addictive. The appetizers are delicious and portion sizes are generous. The environment is more loud than it is calm and quiet but that means business is booming. Also the service was attentive. My boyfriend also said they have the best water he has ever tasted lol I think he had over 25 refills throughout the night. We'll be back and I can't wait to try more of the food! Try the truffle fries! There is a bit of a wait but it's so worth it! Drinks are tasty too!
The food was amazing. I chose a pasta dish and the noodles were so tender, definitely fresh. The sauce was incredible. We also tried the short ribs and a fig appetizer which did not disappoint. Don't skip dessert, a perfect ending to the meal! You will need to make a reservation way in advance as they are extremely popular and it requires a miracle to get in last minute.
It’s one of my favorite restaurants in Fresno. The appetizers are top tier. My favorites are the arancini, burrito and stone fruit, meatballs , and the bone marrow. The bone marrow is not on the menu all the time. My all time favorite dish in the Fresno State Corn agnolotti. It’s literally perfect and seasonal. Restaurant is rustic and beautiful but can be a little loud when it’s full which is all the time. I would like to see the regular drink menu include a few more cocktails. The firecracker cocktail is my go to there and it never disappoints but it does get spicy!
So so so good. Everything we had was phenomenal, they do have some things that rotate on the menu so if there’s something you want to try, I recommend going for it. Had no reservations, walked in around 5pm on a Saturday, were very lucky to get seated at the bar (3 of us). Service was outstanding, one of the dishes was delayed and they gave us complimentary meatballs. I had the lamb Ragu - amazing. Others had the seafood pasta that was also very good, and the bucatini.
Okay guys now, I’m not going to lie…. I’m a picky eater. But this is one restaurant that I will happily visit to dine out! I desire an uplifting yet serene and genuine atmosphere, and this restaurant offers just that! Great people, great food, great drinks and gorgeous establishment, all in all would recommend! Kendall will welcome you graciously, she is so very kind! Micheal is a fantastic waiter, as is Shelby (waitress) and Noah (the manager) will always be sure you are having the desired experience 😌 last but certainly not least.. Trevor will do you up a delicious pizza, just how you want it! (If you wish to take one to go, he will par-bake it for you and leave instructions on the box!)☺️ My recommendation: Margarita Pizza, salad of your choice (they are all superb can’t go wrong!) with a glass of Prosecco 👌🏼
What's not to love about Annex Kitchen? It delivers with delicious consistency every time! I love the atmosphere and the vibe, the drinks are always fire, and the service is attentive without being overdone. The food is all good - the pizza is the best in town, the shirt ribs and melt in your mouth amazing, the appetizers are all fantastic (I almost always have to get the arancini), and the kale salad is so good! My only complaint is that it can be hard to get a reservation because it's so popular and not very large - but so worth it when you can make it happen!
The food and atmosphere are really nice. My favorite seasonal dish is the Agnolotti made with Fresno State corn. My 4 out of 5 star rating is due to last summer's desserts, which did not taste as good as I had hoped. Other than that, all other dishes I've had have been good.
Hands down probably the best Italian restaurant in Fresno. The food is always on point, tasty and never left me disappointed. Service is also good, the only thing i dont really like is the noise. People are extremely loud and make the environment less enjoyable. A little advice, lights are too dim, a bit more brighter will help to read the menu because not all the tables are well illuminated.
A friendly space to have dinner. The service efficient and our server was attentive to our needs. The food was good and reasonably priced. We had a nice side salad, grilled asparagus and shared a pizza. The dining room was a bit dark for our taste; the shades were drawn due to the setting sun shining directly into the west side of the restaurant.
Arriving at Annex Kitchen ten minutes before opening, we found parking to be a breeze, securing a spot right in front of the restaurant. The moment we stepped in, greeted by the empty ambiance and a warm smile from the server, it felt promising. However, our lack of reservation meant we were faced with a nearly three-hour wait due to full booking. Opting for the drink bar over the pizza bar, we settled into our seats. The staff were exceptionally friendly, enhancing the experience with their kindness. My old-fashioned and my wife's sweet drink hit all the right notes—flavorful without overwhelming strength. The truffle fries, served with aioli and Parmigiano, boasted perfect crispiness and a seasoning that left us impressed. Our main courses, the sliced hanger steak for me and the Mezze Rigatoni with sausage ragu for my wife, were memorable. My steak was cooked to medium perfection, a rarity in my dining experiences, while my wife found her pasta tasty, albeit the sausage flavor slightly dominant. The bartenders shared useful drink-making tips, adding value beyond just serving drinks. Their suggestion to book ahead is a wise one, considering the packed house. Yet, the bar offered its own charm and engaging experience. Peering over at the pizza bar, its allure was undeniable, hinting at another visit solely for their reputed pizzas. Our evening capped off with a delightful Crème Brûlée cocktail, a creative concoction blending Stoli Vanilla Vodka, Ampersand Madagascar vanilla ice cream, vanilla extract, egg white, and a caramelized sugar rim. It was an exquisite dessert drink that perfectly rounded off our dining experience. A reservation is key to fully experiencing what Annex Kitchen has to offer, though spontaneous visitors can still find joy and deliciousness at the bar.
A friend and I came on a Saturday night. It was very busy, which is a good sign. I'm glad I had made a reservation the night before. We enjoyed the rustic, cozy atmosphere. We shared Arancini, Little Gem Salad, Salmon, and Fusilli. The salmon was a bit fishy, and the Arancini and Fusilli were too salty. I was disappointed with the taste of the food considering the high ratings for this restaurant. On a positive note, I will say that the service was very good, and the bathrooms were very clean.
I really wanted to love this place, but I just don’t. If I’m going to spend this kind of money on a meal, I want it to knock my socks off, and this place does not do that. It is nice inside and the people are friendly, so there’s that. We ordered the Arancini for an hors d’oeuvre and it was pretty tasty, but a few of them were cold in the middle. When I told the waiter this, he just responded that he would tell the chef. I expect more from a restaurant like this. We then ordered the braised, short rib and the Tagliolini. They were both fine, but not incredible. And they did not even bring me bread until I asked. I have now been there twice, and I’ve come to the same conclusion both times. I’m done.
The service, reservation process, and environment are excellent. We were there at 5 but our food was delivered at almost 6. Appetizers were excellent. My food was cold and the flavors were not as I expected for the price. I can’t say this is the best place. We stayed a few minutes after we finished and the server never came back to offer water. It was almost like a way of saying that they wanted us to leave even when the food came really late.
We chose to go to The Annex for our 19th anniversary last week after hearing great things from several friends and coworkers. Unfortunately, our experience didn’t live up to the recommendations. The noise level was so loud it was actually painful at times. Our server was friendly and thoughtful, and we appreciated the complimentary glasses of prosecco for our anniversary. However, it took about 30 minutes to receive our cocktails, and when they finally arrived, they were undrinkable — we both took a sip and sent them back. We decided to try cosmopolitans instead, which were better, but those also took over 20 minutes to arrive. The food was clearly made with fresh ingredients but unfortunately lacked flavor. Overall, we were disappointed and are hoping it was just an off night.
The layout of this restaurant was odd. One rectangle dining room, a long bar adjacent to the dining area that took up the whole wall. The dining area consisted of tables, round booths in the center. I had a reservation and I was sat at a table that is right next to their POS system. Almost was bonked in the head by a server and every time I stood up to head to the restroom there was staff at the POS system. They were focusing on entering orders and not paying attention to you waiting for them so you could get by. The server did not attend my table until 20 minutes after being sat, it is also very loud in that dining room hard to have a conversation with someone. I ordered a steak cooked correct but was under seasoned. The salad was okay. I just don't find this place worth the amount of money you pay.
