I’ve always driven by this place and wondered if I’d like it or not. We tried it for the first time the other day. Honestly, fantastic. The food is excellent. The various bowls and options are really neat. But the winner of it all is the sauces, the sauces and the various sauce options are absolutely lovely. The restaurant is nice, kept clean, very pleasant atmosphere, very convenient location as well. And the service was amazing, the staff were incredibly friendly. We would absolutely come back, and we do recommend!
Burning rice is a hidden gem in Frisco for sure! It’s like a Korean Bibimbop Chipotle style, where you can customize your bowl with your favorite toppings. I prefer my rice crispy on the bottom, and the stone kept it hot for a while. The service was fast, and there were plenty of seats available. I’ll definitely be back here!
We came as a family after a good movie all of us feeling hungry. Moment we came in one of the staff greeted us warmly, as it was our first time eating Korean it made the experience much more enjoyable. As we were leaving one of the staff ran out to us to give my mom her purse she had forgotten inside. Loved the sentiment. The food was really good, and the sauces were delectable. Really clean place will definitely come back.
Walked in and instantly noticed the clean environment. Right away, the staff said hello and asked if I needed any help. They have self-serve tablets that are easy to use, with prices and descriptions. The food was delicious but took a while to come out, and it was pretty empty when I went, so that is the only area for improvement in my opinion but it was delicious so worth the wait. Coolest part is that you can put it in a hot bowl! Besides that, I would definitely recommend it, with decent prices, a clean facility, and clean restrooms. 9/10, would recommend.
I recently tried the rice from this shop, and it was delicious—flavorful and perfectly cooked. The presentation of the food was impressive, looking clean and appetizing. One note is that they don’t sell soup separately, only offering miso soup as part of a combo with rice and fried items. On the bright side, I found a great deal: there's a buy one get one free offer on UberEats. Overall, a solid experience!
This was our first time at a Burning Rice and being Korean I was anxious to see what they had to offer. The bibimbap bowl was delicious and I chose kimchi rice, lol the veggies, fish cake and no egg. My hubs and I shared a kimchi mandoo and it was super tasty as well. Don’t know why it took me so long to try the place out but we are glad we did. We wish we had gotten the smaller bowl but we know for next time! Def worth a try and they do Korean food proud. 👍
Loved coming here. Maybe sign od the times. After covid, they removed salad bar and never brought it back (one of my favorite parts). Prices stayed same and have increased.. feels like less amenities and higher prices, so cut visits way down. Still good food.
The food is greasy but the service always takes a while even if no one is in the shop. The atmosphere is nice but it’s nothing I haven’t seen before. But the quality of the food is AMAZING. I love there bibimbap bowls!
I ordered, from a touchscreen, SPICEY PORK, some dumplings, and miso soup with a fountain drink. My ordering process began with some disappointment when there was no option available at the self service point of sale for me to order extra Kimchi. That was my entire purpose for trying this place was I wanted some Kimchi. On the plus side of service, the young lady who served my table brought me a small container of Kimchi when I asked how I could order more. The final result after trying the little portion of Kimchi she kindly brought, was not my favorite. Overall the food was pretty good, but I think I had different results in mind from what was the reality of this dining experience.
Simple food options to choose from. We chow Abundant bowl in hot stone bowl. The food was hot till last bite. Quantity in bowl is good. Portion size for each veggies, protein and carbs is decent. We tried spicy chicken and tofu bowls. It came with Miso soup and dumplings. This is our first time here and everything we ordered was good at expected level. Will try some thing else next time and update this review. They have kids portion too. Drinks were good too. Service is quick and friendly. Place is clean and hygienic.
We were recommended by our frnds to try this place but never had an opportunity . This time just planned to order from this place and food was good. They had vegetarian option food and as instructed it was prepared even to delivery order. We asked to add miso soup but they sent dumplings instead may be not available . But we had to dump as we were not if it was actually vegetarian or had any meat in it . Otherwise the other food ordered were too good.
This was a really nice place to eat. I ordered the tofu as my protein. This is the only meat substitute. The food was good. The service was good. The restaurant was clean. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is because tofu was the only meat alternative option. Otherwise, good place to eat.
Overall this place is good. The prices and portions are not bad. $10.00 for bulgogi bowl, $2.00 or $4.00 for additional meat, depending on the portion. The dumplings were pretty good. Wings were ok, very spicy. Also, it was not crowded and pretty clean, but the person taking the orders wasn't very friendly. If you are craving Korean food without the hassle of cooking, or paying almost $30, this is the place to go.
Pretty good food. The Hot Stone Bowl is just a fancy thing. I'd rather stick to the regular bowl. Also, first time visitors please note that you have an option to ask for all toppings as part do the order. I would definitely recommend the Pork or the Chicken. The Beef tends to be a bit on the chewy side. The Thai Tea is also decent if you don't crave for a Boba Tea.
Update: 1/4/24: They changed everything about this place. They got rid of hot stone bowls(at a place named BURNING RICE!) and the free salad bar and soup. I can no longer recommend it. Unfortunately the leadership running this company seems incompetent with some of their recent changes. Previous review: If you love dolsot bimbimbap you must come here. If you don't know what that is, it's basically meat, Korean style vegetables, rice, and an egg in a hot stone bowl. I've been a huge fan of it for a few years, but stopped eating beef a few years ago. I was delighted when I saw they offer a version with chicken here, so it's become one of my go to spots to go to when I decide to go out. The cool thing about Burning Rice is they let you individually choose what ingredients you would like in your bowl. Don't like japchae or fishcakes? No problem here! A free all you can eat salad and soup bar is also included with purchase. I highly recommend the seaweed soup! They also have a few Korean drinks like milk tea and standard sodas like coke. For dessert they also sell moon pies. They've also recently started allowing BYOB so you can bring beer or wine if you like to have with your meal.
Be sure to double-check your order against what’s served. Items were missing from ours, and the portions were noticeably reduced (we ordered extra chicken and didn’t receive it). The staff came across as very sneaky, and the food wasn’t hot. I do not recommend this location. The one on Preston in Frisco is much better.
A Plea to Burning Rice: Please Remember Where You Came From We were once loyal regulars at Burning Rice, visiting your very first location almost weekly. Back then, the experience was something special—fresh flavors, a unique concept that lived up to its name, and thoughtful extras like the salad and soup bar that made your meals feel like a complete, satisfying experience. But somewhere along the road to expansion, something changed. The heart and soul of what made Burning Rice great seem to have been lost in the pursuit of growth. The food no longer tastes fresh. The signature hot stone bowls—once a highlight with their satisfying sizzle and crispy rice—are now drowned in oil, missing the very element that made them exciting and distinct. To make matters worse, prices have gone up, yet value has gone down. And sadly, the once-beloved salad and soup bar is nowhere to be found. What made Burning Rice stand out is now gone, replaced by what feels like just another fast-casual chain trying to cut corners while charging more. We haven’t been back in over six months. And that’s after years of being loyal customers. It’s not out of frustration alone, but of genuine disappointment—and concern. We miss the old Burning Rice. The one that cared. The one that didn’t just serve food but created an experience. We hope this serves as a wake-up call. Rapid growth is impressive, but not if it sacrifices quality, integrity, and what made your brand beloved in the first place. Is anyone else feeling the same?
It hurts to write a negative review at a place that used to be one of my top spots. The food used to be spectacular here and had lots of flavor, but since coming back for another visit tonight, I was extremely disappointed in the quality, display, and taste of the food. They now give out plastic wear instead of the normal ones they used to use. Additionally, they don’t have all of the toppings anymore, and overall it’s just not the same. I didn’t even touch my food because it didn’t even look appetizing. Got a full refund on my family and I’s order. There was even plastic in one of the bowls we ordered. Not coming back here unfortunately. Used to be my favorite place. First three photos were taken tonight, last one is previously before taking stuff off the menu.
