The service is low only because we had a reservation and finally got a spot close to an hour not sure why take reservations if you don't stand by them. Our server was great and he did a wonderful job the food was so good it's like first watch in the way of food
I've been to the Asheville location and today I was able to visit the new Gainesville location and still just as delicious each time! We had the fried green tomatoes and pimiento cheese dip appetizers, and for entrees we got the shrimp & grits, fried chicken with Mac & cheese, and the Sriracha fried chicken and waffles, then banana pudding for dessert. Everything was great. Highly recommend!
The service was amazing. Had a sweet and very professional waitress. Rosie greeted us with kindness. She made the experience amazing. Would have her as our waitress anytime. The food was amazing. Haven’t had anything I wouldn’t come back again and reorder.
Excellent Chicken! Great seasoning! Very Cute place with a large Bar selection and speciality drinks 🍸
What a wonderful time we had, Service was excellent and the experience went up from there. Even the after supper coffee was great.
Wow. Very pleasant visit. I had no clue what was served here. I'm a dasher and was always pleasant to come in here. I had fried green tomatoes, and the chicken finger dinner with mac-n-cheese and crispy rosemary and parmesean potatoes. Man, all of it was good. This is NOT value meal centered. Expect to pay for a lone diner. Was a 38 tab worth it? Hmm, yes. But I couldn't afford this very often. Shout out to Leslie my server. Excellent job as well as the hostess team and to go order team who helps us drivers in that respect. I'll check on that door squeak as I can and help it a little!! 😉
Very cute modern country restaurant. Food was seasoned well and came out hot. Server was super friendly.
If you’re anywhere near Gainesville and appreciate a good bourbon, or let’s be honest, a great one, you need to stop by Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar. This place absolutely nailed it. First off, the bourbon selection is elite. Not “pretty good for a restaurant”… I’m talking a lineup that makes you do a double take and start mentally rearranging your evening plans. Whether you’re a casual sipper or deep into the bourbon game, you’ll find something that hits just right. Now let’s talk about the real MVP, Carlie behind the bar. Friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly knows her craft. You can tell right away she’s not just pouring drinks, she’s curating them. Her Old Fashioned was outstanding… perfectly balanced, smooth, and dangerously easy to drink. The kind of drink that makes you immediately want another. I can’t wait to try her next one! I’ll be honest, this was a bit of a “liquid lunch” situation, so I didn’t get into the food this time. But based on the vibe, the menu, and everything else I experienced, I will 100% be back to try it. No question. The atmosphere is clean, modern, and relaxed, perfect whether you’re stopping in for a quick drink or planning to hang out for a while. On top of that, their daily specials are legit and there’s something for everyone, whether you’re into cocktails, wine, or just a good cold beer. Bottom line: great drinks, great service, great atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back, next time for the food, another Old Fashioned, and to see Carlie again behind the bar! Thank you Carlie for making my first experience here AMAZING!
Had a great experience at this Tupelo Honey! We had a dog with us and they accommodated us so well, took care of us, and showed us the dog menu with a coupon for a dog meal. The biscuits were really good and loved seeing that donations were made for everyone that item was ordered. We forms lot of different items in the family and many were good to amazing! I with the Spicy and Sweet Chicken Sandwich was just less generic but that’s on me for not going with a more recommended item. Would definitely go back here from the service and food being so good!
10/10 really. Place is clean and gorgeous. The vibe is perfect. Service is great. All the waiters we've gotten have been amazing. The food is DELICIOUS. Don't really have much else to say.
Very enjoyable place to have dinner. Really enjoyed my shrimp and grits. Will definitely be returning.
I went here based on a recommendation, and I'm so glad I went! The food was amazing! I ate the avocado melt with the tomato soup and ordered the sweet potato pancakes. The service was absolutely wonderful, Hannah did a wonderful job of making us feel welcome and valued. The atmosphere was beautiful! I loved the floral ceiling along with the look of various parts of the interior. The outdoor seating is very pleasant as well!
Gainesville brunch run — Tupelo Honey They start you off with warm biscuits, butter, jelly, and honey… and honestly, I could’ve just kept eating that basket. Then came the good stuff: The Mountain Morning Bowl with eggs, potatoes, bacon, salsa, and grits. The Avocado Toast & Eggs with feta and a little kick from that sriracha honey (a bit too many onions in my opinion... but my wife liked it). And yeah… had to try the Chicken & Waffles too. Crispy, juicy, sweet, and just right. Drinks were on point, the service was great, and the whole place has a cozy vibe that makes it perfect for a weekend brunch. If you’re tired of the same usual spots, this one is worth checking out. #RolieEats #FoodUnites #GoodEats #BrunchGoals #GainesvilleGA
Let me start off by saying, we plan on going back several times to try more of the menu! We had a bartender, Annie, take care of us! Not only was she a great server but she was friendly, well versed on the menu and allowed me to try a drink before I purchased it! Even though we had a 40 minute wait for seats, we sat at the bar to avoid that. Then our food was running behind and a kitchen manager sent out an appetizer (Fried Green Tomatoes) Free of Charge for the wait! Super Thoughtful!! Not to mention, I do not like fried green tomatoes and neither does my husband, but when I say OH MY GOSH! I tried them and my mind was instantly changed! Then when our food came out, it was cooked to perfection, Truly!!! I couldn’t stop talking about the place hours after eating there and neither could my husband! We were floored by the food quality, ambience and service! If you haven’t already, give them a try!!!!! We can’t stress that enough!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 What we got: 1. Sweet Potato Pancake, Bacon, Egg Whites 2. Side of Crispy Brussels Sprouts 3. Asheville Hot Chicken and Ranch Melt w/ Tomato Soup 4. FREE (on the house) Fried Green Tomatoes Appetizer
We were excited when we found out one of our favorite restaurants in Asheville is now closer to home. The menu just makes you feel like grandma is in the back cookin up some of her specialties. No one will ever beat my granma's fried chicken but this is close. Brunch is my favorite so we'll have to come back soon. They have a nice selection of bourbon at the bar too!!
Jasper, our server, was absolutely amazing!!! Above and beyond service! The fried green tomatoes, and collard greens were delicious. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and the gravy is the best I have ever tasted!!!! Definitely coming back!
This is a hidden gem! The food was awesome and Carly our server/bartender/manager was wonderful! She knew everything about the food and made suggestions that would go great with what we ordered! I will definitely be back! It’s hard to find good places to eat and friendly knowledgeable employees!
When we arrived the restaurant was warm and inventing. We were greeted by our server and a host. The ambience is peaceful and calming. We started with waters and biscuits. They were served fresh and warm Our waitress introduced herself Rosie and smiled as she was ready and eager to deliver a wonderful and memorable experience. She told us how much she loved the fried green tomatoes appetizer. She genuinely described how the fresh ingredients used in the restaurant made all the difference in taste and consistency. She raved that it was one of her favorites. We ordered and it was brought out on decorative plate. 4 moderate in size perfectly fried green tomatoes on a bed of grits sprinkled with shredded basil. It was very fresh in appearance and taste. Rosie checked in and made sure everything was going smoothly and we told her we were very pleased. As we neared our fullness , we slowed down to prepare our bellies for dessert. We ordered the dessert duo and we went to heaven. I sunk in my chair as I really experienced the wow factor ! AMAZING Banana pudding and Mississippi mud pie. I said all that to Say our service was delivered flawlessly Everything ran smoothly Rosie enhanced our experience by being detailed and present Thank you. We will return
This was a breath of fresh food. What a treat everything was. The shrimp and grits were delightful, the southwest omelet was a revelation, the fried okra and fried green tomatoes were the best I have had in a long time, and the atmosphere was so pleasant! Can not wait to come back.
We love Tupelo Honey, so excited to see them come to Gainesville!! I ordered the chicken & waffles, chicken was seasoned to perfection! The blueberry cold brew was delicious! We enjoyed bunch on their patio, 10/10 recommend! Great service & so beautiful inside! Plenty of parking & kid friendly!
I had an absolutely wonderful lunch experience at Tupelo Honey! From the moment I walked in, everything was flawless. Ashley, our server, was exceptional—professional, attentive, and genuinely caring throughout the meal. She made us feel welcome and ensured every detail was perfect. The food was nothing short of superb. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor, clearly prepared with high-quality ingredients and care. The Chicken Mac and Cheese Waffle was to die for—rich, savory, and unlike anything I’ve ever had. Truly a standout dish that I’ll be dreaming about for days! What truly elevated the experience was witnessing the entire staff working together as a team. It created such a warm and inviting atmosphere, and it’s clear that everyone takes pride in what they do. Tupelo Honey truly exceeded expectations, and I can’t wait to return. Five stars all around!
First time eating here and everything was delicious! Our server was nice and the food came out quick! The restaurant is so beautiful! Look forward to dining here again soon! The only thing I could say is they still have the table tents up from the friends and family that says everything is free. So they might want to take those down. 10 out of 10!
I would give Tupelo Honey 10 stars if I could. Great atmosphere-I felt like I was sitting in a relative’s house in Charleston. Great service, super friendly and genuine servers/bartenders/FOH/Mgmt. I ordered Biscuits for a Cause, Fried Green Tomatoes, and a side of Collard Greens. One of the best dinners I’ve had in a long while. I’m afraid I’m going to spend a lot of money here in the near future!
The misses and I don't eat out as often as we used to so when we do, we are picky about where we go. Let me tell you, we are so happy we picked Tupelo Honey for a Tuesday mid-afternoon meal. We started with the beer battered onion rings and if you like some spice, the firecracker dipping sauce is magic on your tongue. Christi ordered the classic chicken and waffles... she has never had the dish before, and for myself, it had to be the shrimp and grits. I have had shrimp and grits in New Orleans as well as Savannah, and Tupelo's was right up there. Christi may have found her new favorite dish in chicken and waffles. Highly recommend folks check Tupelo Honey out. And to top it all off, our server, Mandy, provided great service and was very knowledgeable and helpful with the menu.
Yum!! Some of the best Brussels I’ve had in a long time. Both our sandwiches were great. We were seated right away with reservations. The service was wonderful. It is very cute inside. We will be back!
Tupelo Honey has long been one of my favorite spots in other cities, so I was thrilled when one opened right here in Gainesville. I swung by for brunch before their official grand opening, and let me just say—this new location did not disappoint. The service was absolutely top-tier. Cheryl, our server, was a total gem—attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience that much better. The food? Even more delicious than I remembered! I had the avocado toast with Sriracha honey, and it was pure perfection—savory, sweet, and just the right kick. My mimosa was bright and refreshing, and my dining partner raved about her omelette. Tupelo Honey Gainesville has officially earned a spot in my regular rotation. Can’t wait to come back again (and again).
I ordered the fried chicken dark meat meal with Mashed Potato and Macaroni and cheese as sides. I ordered dip biscuits with blueberry butter and honey on the side to have while waiting for the meal. Delicious
I came in this weekend and had a lovely experience. Myself and my friend both got the chicken tenders with a side of grits and it was absolutely to die for. The service was very fast, and our server Caylynn was very attentive and took great care of us. I definitely would love to come back and bring my family next time.
After a morning full of appointments and shopping, my mom and I decided to go for some grub. A friend recommended we try Tupelo Honey and boy am I glad she did! The weather was perfect so we decided to sit outside. Service was great. Good was fantastic. Our only complaint is that we couldn't try the whole menu at once!! We will definitely be going back.
It was ok, I do not understand what the hype is all about. Our server was very friendly. The food was ok, I just expected more. We also had the fried okra appetizer and it was pretty good with the firecracker dip.
As all of you know Pearl is a service dog. Unfortunately the staff at this restaurant were not familiar with The ADA Act.(they are now). They attempted to seat us outside on our arrival. We did not even make it through the gate when a goldendoodle charged us and literally ran into the metal fencing attempting to attack pearl. We went back inside of which they told us. “I don’t know what we need to do.” I Educated them on the ADA Act and then we were promptly seated. On a positive note, the wait staff is absolutely amazing the bloody Mary that I had and the food is off the charts amazing 10 out of 10 would do this again! I’m going to tell you their peach compote is the absolute best I have ever eaten. Hats off to Hannah, Leo and Christian. They turned a sad situation around into a positive experience. That’s very hard to do. Tupelo honey southern kitchen. Shame on you as a company. You need to do a better job of educating your staff !Your staff members or your greatest asset! Y’all come check this place out if you’re ever in Gainesville, I promise you won’t regret it! It still doesn’t top the Fisherman’s Warf in Cummings but it’s close as far as good service and great food.
Came here for brunch on a Saturday about 11am. We were sat immediately and the waitress was very friendly and attentive. The food was very good and the drinks were made right. I had a Bloody Mary, great flavor and the pour was just right. We got the fried green tomatoes for an appetizers, so good! I had the Farmhouse Omelet for my entre, standard issue, but was tasty. I would definitely come back here, they have a lot of things on the menu that sounded really good.
Went here for dinner on Memorial Day with my father. We were impressed with the modern interior with a Southern style food menu. We started off with a biscuit appetizer which came with blueberry jam/whipped honey. The biscuits were soft and delicious with the jam complementing them well. For the main course, we both got the shrimp & grits. The shrimps were tender and mixed with the grits were chorizo bits and house Creole sauce that added a tangy and sweet flavor. For desert, they offered a mini duo of their 2 popular desert dishes which were the heavenly banana pudding and Mississippi mud pie. The portion size for the duo was quite generous and at a good price. A special shoutout to our server Samantha who did an excellent job for us. Overall, me and my dad had a good first experience at Tupelo.
The service was not good (we had a bad trainer who was training someone else and they disappeared- didn’t being utensils or take our orders for a long while) but when we finally got the good it was great! I’ll give it another try for service soon! Food was good. Chicken waffles were great! Banana pudding was yummy and too big for one person.
Food was good but not as good as others say on their reviews, I had very high expectations but honestly they were not met. I will definitely give it another try because they have room to improve. Side dishes were better than the actual main course.
The drinks took 15 minutes and it wasn’t packed. So that was a little annoying. The food was delicious. I got the steak and eggs and it was excellent and cooked as I ordered. Unfortunately, that dish comes with a choice of potatoes or cheese grits - my grits never showed up. Cocktails were on point. I just wish things had been closer to perfect. I would recommend, though.
My husband & I went to Tupelo Honey restaurant on 1/1/26 for our anniversary dinner. Hannah was our server & she was very professional & friendly. The food was great! However, the portion sizes was more for lunch & not dinner. I Loved the trivia & would u rather questions on the TV screen. That was fun!!
Such a huge fan of Tupelo Honey so I was so excited that one is now in Gainesville. Went for the first time for Valentine’s day and was very disappointed in the food. We ordered off the Fixed Valentines menu and the grits was more goat cheese than grits, the grilled chicken breast were dry and the red sauce well that what it was just red sauce with no flavor. We did mention some of our disappoints to our server Christian but he just listened and didn’t react. The staff expressed it was the most reservations they had had since opening in May 2025, so I just fill the kitchen was over whelmed. Will I return of course, nothing is never prefect and am sure the next time it will be.. 💙
We went on Labor Day arrived at 3:35pm sat outside beautiful day. No one came to take our order until 4:10pm after my boyfriend went inside to ask for a server. We came from Marietta and were starving. The waiter came out and went to the table that was the third table sat after us. No drinks yet. Ordered fried chicken and Caesar salad with appetizer of fried green tomatoes and a cobb salad. They finally brought out our salad and chicken but no drinks and no silverware and no dressing for salad. We asked where are the fried green tomatoes? Evidently many servers did not show up for work. Finally asked for the manager who is Austin and he is great. Lovely location and it is beautiful inside and out. I hope they will get reliable servers who want to work.
We have been several times for brunch in the weekend but tried it today Tuesday for lunch and not did they phone it in. Food took forever to arrive and the best thing on the plate was the potatoes. Biscuit was hard as a rock and the wife’s salad was wilted. Waste of $30.
Had reservations at 11:30 seated on time. Food arrived at table in 30 minutes after ordering while restaurant was 1/2 empty. Omelettes good, smothered chicken the chicken was tough, chicken sandwich, nothing to right home about. Meatloaf definitely has a spicy taste.
First time here- very modern and clean with good service. We had the chicken and it was good. - had the Brussels sprouts - ok but just ok. (They were out of several sides) Had fried green tomatoes - excellent. Ordered biscuits ( they don’t come with the entree but earlier reviews raved about them.) Ours seemed old - I only ate half of one. So nice place- good friendly service - food in general - ok.
This was my first visit here and I bought out of town guests with me. We all ordered the fried chicken. Everyone commented that the coating was dark like the cooking oil was due for a change or it was cooked at too high a temperature. The flavor was not great. Otherwise the meal was good. The biscuits were delicious.
If you have a party of 6 or more you’ll be in for a long wait(over an hour) even if there are lots of empty tables in sight. 10:30 until 1:30 to finish breakfast! Shrimp and grits would have been a lot better had the grits been hot. The kids were soooo hungry they didn’t care if it was hot or not. But as an adult that’s not acceptable. Our server was okay but just keep telling as our food ticket was next in line. After asking quite a few times we finally got our order. Over all this was such a let down especially after eating at the one in Asheville (FABULOUS!)Maybe our expectations were too high. Between breakfast and drinks our bill was over $160! Don’t mind when it worth it. Won’t do that again!!!
We went around 1:30 in the afternoon they were already out of potatoes for the day (dinner guests were just out of luck). Ordered meatloaf which was eh’ at best. Tomato soup was barely room temp had to send it back to be reheated and Mac n cheese tasted like it was out of a plastic container you buy at the grocery store. Ordered the daily special martini but yet were out of the ingredients to make it so…. No cocktail for us! Husband got the honey dusted fried chicken which was fresh, hot and cooked to order he also enjoyed the Brussel sprouts!
Restaurant is ice cold. Everyone had their winter coats on while dining. Server took way too long to come over and greet us. Had to ask for refills. Food took longer than expected to hit the table once it was ordered. Scrambled eggs were not fresh and were overcooked. Potatoes were delicious. Bacon was fine. Toast isn’t a breakfast toast.
I would like to add the disclaimer that I absolutely love Tupelo Honey in Asheville and Greenville and have traveled to Greenville multiple times for the sole reason of eating multiple times at Tupelo Honey during the day. We have tried the Gainesville location multiple times (6-7) and our experience has been less than stellar every time due to service and it shows in wait times versus their sister locations. Waiting 20-30 minutes after being seated without being tended to by the wait staff is not acceptable for a business that is looking to thrive when other options are available. Serving the initial drinks and not following up for an empty refill is also concerning and seems to be a consistent issue. Management needs to reconsider how they do business and what their expectations are going forward. This location has almost destroyed my love for my favorite restaurant.
Bland food. Bland service. Bland management. It was a very “unseasoned” experience. Left out to go get seasoned food at Don Pedro’s ….. oh and we drove over an hour to be served whipped cream with crumbled toppings of what appeared to be vanilla wafers on the “heavenly banana pudding “ which the manager said she doesn’t eat anyway….. we will NOT be returning !
We have eaten at this restaurant at least once a week since it opened and had become regulars at Table 11. It began as a great place to eat but now within months of it opening they have changed the menu from the original and made changes to meals that are silly changes, such as the chicken and biscuits with gravy for breakfast is now just Chicken with gravy. The steal and eggs have been cold three out of four times I ordered and the only time it was hot is when the manger monitored the meal. The appetizers have been changed to items that are specifically not for someone of my taste although my wife enjoys them. But we are not going to eat where I can't also enjoy. More to the point no onion rings or for that matter nothing I would eat. This area will not support a restaurant that doesn't have consistencies in their meals especially for the prices. Believe me others have tried. I am also concerned with the turnover in the restaurant with the wait staff. It appears the corporate office has waitresses and waiters waiting two weeks for their tips left on a credit card so if you eat their leave them a cash tip if possible so they can pay their bills. I'm afraid we will not be going back without changes. So you are losing two to three meals per week from this.
Came here Saturday morning before the big football game for a good breakfast. When I asked the hostess for a booth she points to this miniature seating spot. I asked again for the larger booth since there were 2 or 3 open, and again she declined. I said, " are you discriminating against me, because I'm one person? What's the issue, and then asked to speak to the manager. As the manager came toward us, the hostess then said, "We have a reservations for that table." Didn't say it first, but, now says it. Blantantly lying to my face. Manager was tongue tied. Enough I said to myself. If they'll lie about a simple seating arrangement, would they lie about the food - the cleanliness, who knows. Out the door I went. There is no place in this world for people to lie to you face! One thing I've learned in this world. If they'll do it once, you can be sure they'll treat you the same way again! Tupelo Honey - You also should remember this name.
