i went here wednesday night with my friend! food was good — our steaks were cooked the way we wanted them. i wouldn’t order the fried mozzarella again, but the strawberry salad and cheesecake were super yummy!! we also tried the chocolate cake and it was delicious. strawberry lemonade here tastes like it’s made with real strawberry syrup. the hosts were polite, and our server was a young guy, i think named Tyler? he was lovely, i’ll ask for him again next time i visit.

Wonderful location right by the beach! Food was amazing all the meat could literally be cut with a fork. Another family member got chicken fried chicken and it couldn't be picked up without falling apart it was so tender and the crust was still crunchy and tasted amazing!

A.B. was our waiter. We’ve been coming here for 21 years. We’ve never experienced more hospitality from a waiter that was willing to go above and beyond what was expected as a customer than from A.B.. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and A.B. treated us as if we were family. You never get that these days. Here in East Texas hospitality is everything! And we found it here at sSaltgrass, but especially with A.B. & Cierrat!!! Definitely coming back to Saltgrass in Galveston, TX!!! A+++ service!!!

Wife decided she was hungry, and wanted a steak. This was the closest place and plenty busy. We were able to be seated in a reasonable amount of time. Our waitress took our drink order and order politely and courteously all the while working multiple parties. Our steaks were done to perfection: my t-bone was great while her sirloin made her happy. The salad was good as well as the sides. The place was very busy but everyone appeared to be having a great time and the staff working were professional and good at their job while maintaining a friendly demeanor. A great end to a great day. No photos of steaks or food: forgot.

Emma was amazing. She is exquisite and lovely. Her demeanor is endearing and welcoming. She is a treasure to this restaurant. Everything she suggested was delicious! Her 4th July spirit was adorable! She had the cutest and most festive earrings. Definitely made our food outing ...an island experience we will never forget!

First time experience at Saltgrass. It was amazing the definitely worth the money. Only thing is if you will go with steak just go with steak don’t order too much because you will be full after the appetizer. The chocolate cake is diabolical.

Great location on the seawall. We went for early dinner and enjoyed the chicken fried steak. Our server, Nick was friendly and attentive.

Saltgrass never disappoints been here several times, good food (try the steak and shrimp) and better service from Rez who was very attentive.

Started a vacation in this area and decided to stop in for dinner. Nick was our server throughout the night was attentive, nice and helpful. We ordered drinks and appetizers. Warm bread with butter was placed on the table free. About 5 minutes later, the stuffed jalapeno with shrimp appetizer arrived followed by all drinks. The appetizer, while fried well, did not taste well together. The fried onions did taste good. We ordered our main course during this time. About 10 minutes later, the balance of our orders arrived. My ribs dinner with fries was presented well. The ribs were the fall of the bone type but were a bit overcooked. The bbq sauce was too sweet to the point of overpowering. The home fries were cooked well. I liked the western theme in the restaurant but the rugs could stand a deep cleaning.

Great service, atmosphere, friendly and water was relaxing. Food and drinks took longer then expected. We had the rattles for to take a picture( they were good) my husband tried a drink with a sliced apple fried,and glazed. It was goid as well.

My wife and I ate at the Galveston Texas location around 2 pm today, Friday, September 5th. We 6os sirloin lunch special and I had a chicken sandwich from the regular menu. We also had a pickles & jalapeños appetizer. We asked for the steak to be well done and it was, but when the steak came out it was lukewarm at best. My wife chose not to complain. I asked for no pickles on my chicken sandwich and you guessed it, it had pickles. The appetizer was fine and the soup was good. My sandwich looked good and it tasted good (when I didn’t take pickle bites) but the brioche bun is too soft and falls apart. The waiter was attentive and did check on us. So overall the visits was okay and food was decent but nothing special.

It's located right on the seawall so you can look at the water if you sit next to the window. They have a lunch menu. Be careful when you order off of it though because the sides are limited. If you want a salad, you have to pay extra so you may be better off just buying off the dinner menu where you get the salad included. Read carefully

The atmosphere was lovely and modern. Our server was decent, though she seemed a bit curt with us, especially given that we were in a group and likely provided a generous tip. While the shrimp was overcooked and the potato soup was grainy and lacking in flavor, the steak and grilled chicken were absolutely perfect.

The food as always was good. The waiting time was more than one hour, however, the also took some time to get to the table. When I was getting charged the lady charged me for something we didn’t want and had asked for tip on top of the tip that was already included which was more than 15%. However, I had no problem on paying the one that was already included. I just felt that the overall experience was just not it.

I have been frequenting this place for a while now, and my partner and I LOVE coming here! Food is always good, and comes out in a timely manner. We also appreciate that even though it’s a chain, everything is made in house and that was confirmed by one of the waiters here. Today however, the service was extremely subpar. The food came out cold, it took a lot longer than usual and it didn’t meet our standards that had already been previously set. The waitress had a poor attitude and looked like she was not wanting to work today. On the way out we were confronted by her and she proceeded to ask “was there something wrong with the service?” I guess our tip didn’t meet her expectations. Remember folks, a tip is earned not guaranteed. Good work will be rewarded. Shout out to the chefs though they deserve the real tip.

We went for restaurant week last night. The advertised price on the web along with the offerings for each course did not match. Too many surprises (like $5 add ons). We felt like we were being rushed to finish up our first course before the next course was delivered and on from there. Although our slices of carrot cake were generous our friends received just a sliver of cake. The cake was delicious though! All in all I don’t think we will come back.
