Buonasera a tutti. Dopo un giro sulla Gardesana occidentale (SS45 bis) e aver percorso la Strada della Forra e la SP38, ho pranzato presso la Trattoria Fornico. Menù fisso: 2 primi (penne all'arrabbiata), 2 secondi (stinco di maiale con patatine e coscia di pollo arrosto con patatine), 1/2 litro di vino, acqua e caffè per l'importo totale di € 30,00. Ho mangiato bene e il personale è molto gentile e accogliente. Grazie.

A sure thing. It's been a few years since I've been back to Fornico, to Trattoria da Marco. We found a renovated, bright, and well-kept environment. The spit-roasted meat is always fabulous. A word of advice: plan on having some options for your veggie customers.

What a fantastic place for a meal. The service was excellent, went above and beyond to accommodate our large group and even served us beyond the opening hours. The food was nothing short of stunning and I highly recommend a visit when you are in the area. The lunch 2 course menu for €15 was great value for money.

We went for dinner as a group. A very cute and welcoming place located in a small village above Bogliaco, easy to get to, but don't follow Google Maps, which takes you through some very narrow streets. Start with the house mixed antipasti with cold cuts, giardiniera, beef tartar, burrata, polenta with zolq and speck...in short, it's so good! Then we had meat main courses, and these were also good and flavorful. The prices are moderately high, but they vary depending on what you drink. A nice surprise anyway...I'll be back. Well done

Absolutely fantastic meal! I had the fixed price lunch for €12.50 including 3 courses and wine and every dish was stunning! Authentic home cooked food. The lasagne in particular was one of the best that I have ever eaten😋

Came up for Lunch and the place was packed. Lunchtime has a lunch menu with 3 choices of entrees and Mains. Wine bread rolls water coffee included. I had pasta gorgonzola with broccoli Which was devine and roast pork with polenta which was mouth watering the pork melted in my mouth. Highly recommend this place.

We had a great dining experience at this delightful trattoria a little off the beaten path. It has wonderful views of the lake. We started with a delicious tartar with burrata and timballo of polenta, Gorgonzola and speck as appetizers. I had a delicious rack of lamb with a hearty mustard crust and fries. Others had beef ragout with polenta and paccheri with fruits de mer. Everyone said their food was delicious. We finished off sharing a lemon sorbet and tiramisu. We drank a very nice gewürztraminer with the meal. The service was super friendly and attentive. All in all a great evening and we will be back.

Posticino carinissimo a pochi minuti da Gargnano con una vista molto bella sul lago, buone le orecchiette con cicoria, pancetta e formaggio di capra anche se di pancetta ce n’era poca, ottime invece le pappardelle con ragù di lepre e tartufo! Strepitose. Tutto a prezzi giusti. Consiglio!

Mi sono recato alla Trattoria Fornico venerdì, ad ora di pranzo, con un amico. Servizio gentile e veloce nonostante le sale fossero colme di avventori. Cibo e scelta ottimi soprattutto se si considera che si trattava di un pasto di lavoro: scelta fra 3 primi e 3 secondi. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo: 15 € a testa. Abbiamo preso: 1 risotto al pesce, 1 crema di patate e cavolo, 1 insalata con tonno e 1 gulasch con polenta...

We love eating here and keep coming back! The food is down-to-earth and excellent. We were a large table and had mixed starters, all of which were fantastic. The steak that followed was actually too much and very fatty. I also like the fat in meat, but this was too much. I still recommend this restaurant without reservation!

Premessa: sotto la gestione di Marco Delaini ero cliente anche più volte all'anno nei miei giri sulla sponda bresciana del Garda. Sempre trattato bene, ottimi ricordi di ospitalità e cose buone. Uno dei miei ristoranti del cuore. Tanto da volerlo inserire in un romanzo e consigliarlo agli amici. Solo una volta (sotto Ferragosto) arrivato da una lunga camminata, ero stato respinto, con mille scuse e con preghiera di ricordare l'accaduto la volta successiva per avere un trattamento di riguardo. Resto colpito, come tutti, dalla scomparsa prematura dello chef e, trascorso un po' di tempo, mi decido a tornarci. Ottobre 2024: trattato poco cortesemente ma comunque servito. Visto che ero arrivato tardi 13.50 (il ristorante chiude alle 14) mi viene proposta solo un'insalata (mista, con carote e pomodori). Poi, bontà loro, arrivano anche delle patate non richieste ma gradite. Cose semplici preparate bene ma servite sempre in maniera che tutto potesse essermi fatto pesare. Non prendo altro perché nonostante mi venga proposto il dolce mi sembra una compensazione. Mi comporto con cortesia e stile (lo preciso vedendo che ai commenti negativi si affibbia sempre una patente di scortesia). Ottobre 2025: arrivo alle 13.30 (sarei arrivato prima ma fuori ho parcheggiato distante perché era tutto pieno, compreso il parcheggio della frazione). "A quest'ora abbiamo già fatto troppi coperti". Buon per chi arriva prima e buon per il ristorante che continua ad essere apprezzato. Sarò stato sfortunato? Andate presto e in compagnia che i single non sono graditi.

If you go to restaurants only for the taste of the food, you can probably ignore this review — the dishes here were fine. I, however, also value the dining experience: a welcoming atmosphere, respectful service, and a place where my family can feel comfortable. On the last day of our holiday, we chose this restaurant for what we hoped would be a relaxed, authentic dinner. We had our two-year-old daughter with us. After a long day, she was understandably a bit fussy, so we did everything possible not to disturb others — taking her for short walks outside, keeping her calm so no one had to hear a child crying at their table. Apparently, this basic courtesy was lost on our waiter. Instead of appreciating our effort, he treated it as rudeness. At one point, he even told the child’s father to “sit down” in a dismissive, condescending tone — as if stepping outside to prevent a crying toddler from disrupting the room was some kind of offense. His attitude was so unpleasant that it could have ruined even the finest Michelin-starred meal. We left feeling unwelcome, embarrassed, and with a lasting bad memory of what should have been a joyful evening. And just to preempt the usual kind of “management reply”: no, this was not a misunderstanding, no, we weren’t being disrespectful to staff or guests, and yes — we went out of our way to make sure our child didn’t disturb anyone. Io, però, valuto anche l’esperienza complessiva: un’atmosfera accogliente, un servizio rispettoso e un luogo in cui la mia famiglia possa sentirsi a proprio agio. L’ultimo giorno della nostra vacanza abbiamo scelto questo ristorante sperando in una cena rilassante e autentica. Con noi c’era nostra figlia di due anni. Dopo una giornata lunga era comprensibilmente un po’ irrequieta, così abbiamo fatto tutto il possibile per non disturbare gli altri — portandola a fare brevi passeggiate fuori, cercando di calmarla in modo che nessuno dovesse sentire un bambino piangere al proprio tavolo. A quanto pare, questa semplice cortesia è andata completamente persa per il nostro cameriere. Invece di apprezzare i nostri sforzi, li ha interpretati come maleducazione. A un certo punto ha perfino detto al padre della bambina di “sedersi” con un tono sprezzante e condiscendente — come se uscire un momento per evitare che una bambina in lacrime disturbasse la sala fosse una sorta di offesa. Il suo atteggiamento è stato così sgradevole da poter rovinare anche il più raffinato pasto da ristorante stellato Michelin. Ce ne siamo andati sentendoci indesiderati, a disagio e con un brutto ricordo di quella che avrebbe dovuto essere una serata gioiosa. E per prevenire la solita “risposta della direzione”: no, non si è trattato di un malinteso, no, non siamo stati irrispettosi verso lo staff o gli altri clienti, e sì — abbiamo fatto di tutto per assicurarci che nostra figlia non disturbasse nessuno. A volte il problema, semplicemente, non è il cliente.

Let me start by saying that I've been going to this place for years, ever since Marco was there, and I had a great time. Since the management changed hands in recent years, I've only been three times, in the summer, when the tables are always packed, so I'd only interacted with the waitress, who was very kind and professional. This last time, I had the misfortune of interacting with the owner, an unpleasant, over-the-top person who repeatedly made me and my two friends feel incredibly uncomfortable. Before sitting down at our table, we asked if we could have an aperitif outside. He immediately made a comment about my friends being ugly. From there, it was a slow but steady slide toward the most serious manifestations of Italian bar sexism. He immediately began making unpleasant comments, sexist microaggressions, and saying inappropriate things that made us visibly uncomfortable, incapable of maintaining a normal conversation. Obviously, the feeling all three of us have is that he was allowed to do this because we were three young women. When we made him understand that he was making us uncomfortable, he seemed to change his attitude and, at the end of the meal, offered us a limoncello, which we accepted, interpreting it as a sign of apology for the previous incident. At that point, he began making allusions to our alleged homosexuality, making unpleasant comments about a woman passing by, as well as making truly low-level jokes about our being "polyglots" and homophobic jokes. It was a mix of machismo, sexism, and homophobia that the three of us experienced as an attack. When we said, "Those are a bit of a vulgar comment," he responded, "How touchy of you are." Unpleasant, I won't be back even though I've been going there for years. He seemed very excited.
