Opinions de Dos Banderas Garland
Great food, super sweet staff and the owners are one of a kind.
As always, the food here NEVER disappoints me! Samantha was excellent with customer service! We'll definitely return! We really love all of the updates and improvements that are evident even before you enter the front door. Very upscale, yet cozy comfortable inside and the new windows and furnishings are lovely! Again, the food does not disappoint.
The food is always very good! There is something on the menu for everyone, and the staff has always been friendly.
Highly recommend the brisket chilaquiles! Service was excellent, family friendly vibes and restaurant was very clean. If you are traveling through the area or new to the area, you have to check it out!
Dos Banderas is one of my favorite spots in Downtown Garland! The service is always prompt and friendly. The tester kitchen options are always pushing the boundaries of traditional Tex-Mex food but they are so tasty. The white queso with brisket is supreme! The bar is always willing to try to make you something new. They made my wife an alcohol free margarita when she was pregnant. Just amazing service
Love Dos Banderas! Great food and great service!!! Hanna G was awesome and did a great job making sure we had everything we wanted/needed.
Kyle was a great server. And the owners are almost as great as the food! You gotta come to garland and try this place out
Ask for Chad. Excellent service excellent food and perfect family environment. The bar and dining room feel like separate restaurants and the vibe has been updated through the years so this is like a really nice hidden gem in Garland. Chad is the guy on lunch shifts to ask for and get the best experience.
We loved the food and atmosphere but most of all we loved our server Logan. Her personality and attention to detail was very much appreciated. It's hard to find good service these days but we will definitely be back. The food was delicious as well making our visit an all around, great experience.
Love this place. Chad and Emillio are always good to see. They are very helping and go out their way to make me feel at home. The staff does a very good job at keeping this place clean. I would highly recommend this place to my family and friends.
This is one of my favorite lunch spots for a quick and tasty meal in a quaint downtown area. One thing I particularly love is their homemade salsa — it’s fresh, with just the right amount of spice and zest. They offer a well-sized menu with all the Tex-Mex classics you’d expect. Their lunch specials are a great deal, letting you mix and match your favorites at a reduced price. The tea is always fresh — both sweet and unsweetened options are available. If you’re short on time, their service is reliably quick. And if you visit for dinner, be sure to try their signature margarita — it’s a standout.
So today was their first day doing brunch and it wasn't bad. Being their first day I must day they did pretty good. Over time it will get alot better but will just take some time to work through all the little things that other restaurants have figured out. The food was delicious but was a little on the cold side. But that wasn't a big deal and I think it was just because they were figuring out the new breakfast crowd. Now if you do go here which I definitely recommend, you absolutely must get the queso. It was superb and that days alot from me because I'm picky when it comes to queso. We will definitely be coming back again.
I had a delicious Grilled Chile Relleno with queso blanco and brisket. The beans and rice were good and the guacamole and pico de gallo were above par. Chips and salsa were good too. The atmosphere is casual, but nice. I look forward to trying some of the other Dos Banderas specialties.
Dos Banderas is great! The service is amazing and they have a really good lunch special, and even better margaritas. Ask for Hannah to be your server, she’s attentive, sweet and funny!
UPDATE 1.16.23 I'm impressed with the new menu options (updated menu pics provide). Lots of pescatarian/vegan option. Only one bean side dish has meat. Love, love, LOVE that there are so many dishes that offer veggie or shrimp instead of meat or boring cheese. I love that I can sub grilled veggies for rice & beans. They have really brought the A-game. Looking fwd to eating my way thru the options. Oh, what the hell is a "stacked enchiladas"? Never heard of this. Intrigued. UPDATE SINCE NEW OWNERSHIP: Looking fwd to more true pescatarian options. Several of their sauces {unfortunately} have chicken broth, even the rice. Super sweet owners. He spoke w\ me for some time about the menu & plans. I was saddened to taste the poblano soup was different. Still good, just was better before. PREVIOUS OWNER REVIEW: Have been several times and quite enjoy their food. Margarita was less than average.
If you haven’t tried Dos Banderas since the new owners took over you are missing out! There are few restaurants that I’ve been to where the owners are actually working to take orders and serve food, but that is what happened today. When I walked in I was greeted by Amber who was so nice a friendly. Since I was alone I sat at the bar. Before I could even sit down good Matt, the owner, was greeting me with what could only be a smile behind his mask. Based on word of mouth I knew that I wanted the blanco queso and the house margarita. Both of these are new/updated to the new owners. Boy was word of mouth right. I realized I was making yummy sounds. I will be back for sure!
This is the second time we have eaten here, and the food was just as delicious as the first time. The chimichanga was awesome. It was pretty busy, but our waiter was very attentive, and we did not have to wait long for our meal to arrive. It is in the heart of downtown Garland, so parking can be tough, but if you don't mind a short walk there are plenty of places around to park. All in all, it is a great place to eat. We will be back.
First time here. It was very busy but the food was excellent. Amy provided great service!
Went earlier this week and was blown away. It was like having a team of celebrity servers serving me. The food was good for the cost and that Reed fellow was a smoking server!
Love that we were created by one of the owners as we walked in! Super open, modern, fresh chips, spicy yummy salsa, great tea, nice server, amazing and cheap lunch specials!! The cheese enchiladas did not taste authentic Mexican. More like Tex mex. The refried beans have a light hint of a strange taste to them. The rice and beef tacos were great!
It was my first time at the place earlier today and I had the most amazing experience! The amount of options for food was amazing and the service was great and speedy. The atmosphere is rustic and very soothing especially since it was raining. Overall great place to have a nice lunch or dinner!
We found Dos Banderas while doing construction in the area. Its a very good Tex-Mex restaurant that we visit at least once a week now. Service is top notch, and they even have a "Secret" menu online. They have brunch on the weekends, although I haven't been for that, as I dont live in the area. But, im sure it's fantastic based on our visits during the week.
The short review is get the brisket tacos. They are amazing. I've been going here for probably over ten years, but it just went under me management. Typically I've found that to be a bad thing with restaurants. My first visit with the new ownership wasn't great. I got the fajitas during their Sunday brunch and they were pretty dry. However! My wife insisted we go back citing their improved margaritas. So we went back. We got house margaritas which we're pretty good for $5. My best decision though was getting the brisket tacos. Wonderful! Best I've ever had. They tasted like a real smoked brisket. My wife told me I had to tell the owner. It turns out they have it smoked at intrinsic BBQ down the street. You can't go wrong with these tacos.
Absolutely the best TexMex we’ve experienced! We will certainly be back!
My husband and I go every Friday. We love all the friendly servers there. I do have to say that Hannah G goes above and beyond to make our experience wonderful!!!!
Went here for lunch today and had a great experience. I mentioned that we wanted queso and our waitress asked if we wanted blanco or traditional. She explained the difference and blanco was what we went with. It was delicious! She was super attentive and beyond helpful. Highly recommended
The New Tex mex chicken fried steak is amazing just ask Amy she will show you t he way to the hidden menu. It is a must try best chicken fried steak in a restaurant ever thank you Dos Banderas
The restaurant was busy because they had two large Christmas parties going on as we entered. We sat at the bar. The hostess, bartender and manager all made sure we were taken care of. The food came out promptly after ordering and boy was it delicious! The blanco queso was like no other and the frozen house margarita had us dancing the whole way home. If you’re visiting the square stop in and give them a try, I definitely recommend!
Awesome food, my wife got the tortilla soup. My kids got the burrito, I got the chimichanga and my youngest got a quesadilla. We all shared from each other and wow, it was delicious. They really up their game with the new ownership.
Ever since we learned that new owners had taken over the business, we have been hearing great things. I am on a low carb diet, so I have to be very careful about what I order. Last night I ordered a Chicken Fajita Bowl with special instructions as to the extra toppings I wanted in it. When I picked up my order to take home and enjoy I discovered that the take out box had more food then you can get in a burrito bowl at Chipotle. They also sent a bag of chips and salsa which I was not expecting for a pick up order. I have a swallowing problem because of my Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy so I have to puree most of my food including this wonderful meal. It was exactly what I was expecting and it had all the important vegetables and protein that I need for my diet. My son and I both enjoyed the chips and salsa. Lots of flavors. I will order from here instead of Chipotle again.
The food was delicious! Service with Cammie was next level! Our hostess checked on us also, the staff was the best. Highly recommend!
Love love love this restaurant! Staff is super friendly! Food is delicious! Atmosphere is comfortable and clean! Loaded queso is a must. I get ground beef enchiladas and ask for the poblano sauce (it’s really soup!) on top. Veggie options are flavorful. Chips are hot and fresh. Salsa is on point. This place is a must!
Really good food!! The salsa has a great taste but it could use a little more heat. I love spicy salsa. This is my 2nd time hear & I enjoyed it both times. The only problem was that my DIL wanted a Chili rellano & it was her birthday lunch & after she ordered it, the lady came & told her that they were out of them. The ice tea has been fresh both times as well!!! Definitely recommend this place.
It was fajita Monday and I ordered combo fajitas with pico, cheese and guacamole, rice and beans. The flour tortillas were warm and the fajitas have a great grilled taste, with onions and bell peppers.Atmosphere was great, believe it was trivia night.Ana the manager was great.Plenty of menu items and drink selections. Will be going back.
Went there Friday night and the food was amazing and the service was great definitely will be coming back with my family sadly I didn’t get to see the kids menu until later I realize they put in on the kids coloring page so if you bring kids do look out for that but I loved it!
It was a little odd walking in here alone as a college student with a backpack on (I’m sure it also startled the employees), but I enjoyed my time and meal at Dos Banderas when I walked around downtown Garland one day last November. I decided to try the “Bandera Sampler,” which came with a diverse variety of dishes. They all tasted quite well, and the total price was much lower than my expectations ($16.24). The employees brought great service, too, so I’d gladly return!
Location is in old downtown Garland and is in a solid location for respecting the history of Garland. There’s construction going on, so parking is kind of tricky. Service was awesome! My man knew the menu and had solid recommendations. When you are in the Metroplex, you will be surrounded by a huge variety of Mexican restaurants. Only a few can stand out. When in Garland…go here! Food was really good! Margaritas…meh. Heavy on the tequila..but..still solid!
Let just say I was very well pleased Sunday. It was like wow with service and all. The place wasn’t pack since they closed early that day. I went Sunday. I didn’t get a photo of nachos. But with every bite I took I wasn’t disappointed. These nachos are 9 out 10 they put everything on the side and asked for no beans 👍. The service was amazing. I didn’t know the owner was talking to us 😃 very friendly and professional. Look at the menu and I am so ready to return to try other stuff on the menu. This place is a good place for family or even a date , friends gathering whichever it’s perfect. Me and nephew were all in all how the nachos came out. Very different but so so good. Chili a whole different way in nachos and perfect with the queso blanco.
Dos is my go to lunch spot! The food is always fresh and fast. Also, one of the few bars that still serves 2oz shots. The downtown garland location is always hoppin.
I been in a count of times and have been waited on by Hannah G . She so worth the wait she’s incredible and treats you like family please go and and have the same experience.
2nd time in, Matt and Amy are great!! The food is amazing, atmosphere is awesome! Can't wait to come back 😎
Great people, great food, good vibes all around. Definitely try the queso.
Dos Banderas was amazing! Wonderful service, delicious good authentic food and amazing drinks! Kayleen was so amazing and patient with our group of 5 energetic boys. The food came out fast, correct and so good! The owner came up and greeted us and made conversation. It’s always so nice to have that special touch within a dining experience. This was our first time and we will be back soon!
My family and I have been coming here for the last 10 years or so and they seem to get better and better every time. They are always very attentive and thoughtful when bring out food or drinks. There is never an empty basket of chips nor an empty drink on the table! The food is usually cooked so quick you don't even have time to fill up on the free chips and salsa! I highly recommend this hole in the wall that's been a staple of the downtown garland area for decades now.
We have been going here for years. So happy to see downtown Garland on the uprise. Great happy hours, great food, very personal ownership.
In less than 30 minutes being in this place I am already impressed. The amount of care the staff exudes is genuine and not something you often fine. The server who brought my food was concerned at how it appeared to her and asked if I wanted it remade. I declined and tried it anyway, it was perfect. On top of that we noticed the care they gave to another patron which is difficult to describe because her situation is not ours to tell, but this place is absolute amazing and will be getting our repeated business.
We had the best experience here! My friend and I brought our boys, and let’s just say it was a little hectic and loud at times — but we had such a fun night. Kayleen was an absolute champ. She handled our crazy table with so much patience, kindness, and a great attitude. She never missed a beat and made us feel completely taken care of. The food was fantastic — fresh, flavorful, and came out quickly even with how busy it was. And the cocktails? So impressive. You can tell they really put thought and care into their drink menu. Everything was beautifully made and tasted amazing. Great service, great food, great drinks, and a waitress who truly went above and beyond. We’ll definitely be back!
This is a fantastic casual TEX-mex place. We were greeted with smiles and sat at our seats immediately. The dining room is spacious and well designed. (They are still improving and upgrading everyday *we were told*) These are the 4 items we ordered for our visit today. STREET TACOS (brisket): Great is the only word we heard from our daughter, she was too busy eating and barely came up for air. She mentioned the brisket being flavorful, and easy to chew. Tres Enchiladas: *reviewed by a 7 year old* Chilli sauce is awesome. Beef is tender and well seasoned. Inhaled the rice and beans. He loved the corn tortillas that the enchilladas were made with, cooked perfectly. POBLANO CHICKEN: Tender and cuts with a fork. Perfectly grilled. Creamy sauce that doesnt overwhelm, poblano taste comes through without spiciness and is well balanced with the mushrooms. TEX MEX LASAGNA: Soft and delicate. Beefy, cheesy goodness. Stacked corn tortillas layered with delicious beef, ranchero sauce and three cheeses! The top is smothered with chilli con carne. A few jalepenos on top to give it a kick. This won me over as my new favorite.
Check this place out! Awesome interiors, amazing food and exceptional service. There are new menu items, like this Test Kitchen Tilapia with chipotle cream sauce. The guac is ALWAYS on point. It is extremely easy to eat here if you have gluten allergies or even celiac disease. Most of their sauces are vegetarian, except for the chili con carne.
Celebrated my birthday here with a party of 16! They accommodated us so quickly, especially on a Saturday night. The food was DELICIOUS! Everything we tried (a lot) was fantastic. Elote bites were my personal fave along with the loaded queso. Loved the skinny margaritas too. Everyone left full and happy. And Sam was a rockstar waitress. Everyone's orders and tabs (8+) were correct. We'll all be back. :)
We had the opportunity to visit Dos Banderas for an event and it was amazing. We met Amy (she's a joy) and the full staff were great. The food is good. The atmosphere is energetic and fun. The food is great! Location is a serious plus. After you eat, you can walk it all off by taking a tour around the square! Don't miss out on this Garland gem!
Great place! We had a large group and the staff handled it very well. Very friendly, attentive, and over all amazing service. Food was delicious! And the prices fair. Atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. We'll be visiting here again! The only thing that was negative was the parking. There is not a lot and on the wknd could be difficult to find a space. But I would even be willing to walk a block or two just to eat here.
Dos Banderas in Garland was the perfect spot for the Garland Grow networking event! The food was amazing, the service outstanding, and the atmosphere made it easy to connect and enjoy great conversation. 🌮👏 Highly recommend for both casual dining and community events — they truly make everyone feel welcome! #GarlandGrow #SupportLocal #DosBanderasGarland #CommunityStrong
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We attended a networking happy hour event in the cantina and had a fantastic experience! The appetizers were delicious, the bartender was quick and attentive, and the support staff made sure everyone had what they needed. Amy was a wonderful host, and it’s clear that she and her husband have put a lot of care into updating the restaurant. Their work is helping downtown Garland grow—highly recommend checking it out!
Amy, Matt, and the team at Dos Banderas are truly incredible — they go above and beyond to make sure you don’t just have a good meal, but an amazing experience. The food, the atmosphere, and the hospitality are all top-notch. We hosted our very first Garland GROW networking event here with around 30 local business owners, and every single person had a fantastic time. The staff made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in and handled everything flawlessly. If you’re looking for great food, great people, and a place that genuinely cares about its guests — Dos Banderas is the spot! Highly recommend checking them out and showing some love to this awesome local business! (Sorry for the blurry pics, google did not allow the video)
We love Dos Banderas! We’ve been going for years and it’s one of our favorites. I always have a hard time deciding what I’m going to eat because I have several things I love, but I went with my go to soft tacos and charro beans and everything was yummy as usual. Ask for Emma and you won’t be disappointed. She’s sweet, attentive and always working hard to make sure her tables are happy.
What a charming place with great atmosphere and an even better/nicer staff! Every staff member was super attentive, my tea glass was never empty my entire meal. Additionally, such an extensive menu which left me asking our amazing waitress, Becca, what her recommendation was between 3 different options. The food was really great, fresh, and I really wish I hadn’t filled up on chips or I would have finished it all! All in all, not one complaint and, even though I don’t live in Garland (I was with my family who does), I hope to be back soon to try the other 2 entrees I didn’t get to order! Also, thanks again Becca for the great service, banter, and recommendations!
Dos Banderas is located on the old historic main Street in downtown Garland, Texas many buildings in the area built in the late 1800's. This Tex-Mex restaurant is well maintained and everyone was very nice and welcoming. The food was very good and came out very quick and was hot and fresh. The sweet tea was great as well. It was a nice touch as well for the owner to come out and make it a point to check on everyone and greet them personally. They have several televisions in the restaurant to help keep their patrons entertained. I would definitely recommend giving Dos Banderas a try. The wait staff did a great job and it was a very good experience.
Stopped by for an early dinner. I ordered the tortilla soup and sour cream chicken nachos. My hubs ordered the cheese enchiladas. They also offered chip and salsa that we enjoyed. Service was pleasant and prompt. I enjoyed the soup and he enjoyed his plate. I wasn’t “blown away” by the nachos but they were still good. We’ll have to stop back in again and explore the menu. Just wanted to stop in and try it since we’re local!

Had the pleasure of having a solo birthday dinner tonight under the new ownership. They were very busy but not on a wait. Traffic coming in was very steady and I can see why. The place is charming…
Authentic Mexican Dining Just Outside the Square I’ve had the pleasure of dining at this gem just outside the square in downtown several times for lunch, and it has quickly become a favorite. Every visit has been a delightful experience, and the food consistently impresses. My go-to dish is the Tortilla Soup—hands down the best I’ve had. It’s a hearty, satisfying bowl loaded with about 3/4 to a full pound of tender, shredded chicken. The broth is flavorful, perfectly spiced, and packed with fresh ingredients that make each spoonful a delight. It’s a must-try for anyone who enjoys comfort food with a rich, authentic Mexican taste. The service is always friendly, and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, making it an ideal spot for a casual lunch. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick bite or sitting down with friends, this place delivers a consistently great dining experience. Highly recommend!
The atmosphere in this place is the best. It feels so homey that when I first stepped in, I almost forgot it was a restaurant and not someone's house. It even smelled like a house! The staff was friendly as well. I got the machaca plate, and it was decent. The pieces of fajita meat didn't have much flavor though, so the meal was good, but it was just average. However, the atmosphere itself makes me want to come back and try something else on the menu. (They also had a table advertising business cards for local businesses, and I thought that was really cool.)
My daughter brought home her chimichanga and was having it for dinner tonight. As she was cutting through it, not one but three toothpicks were found inside.
Nice place. The food is a little too authentic for us. we prefer spicy Tex-Mex, but high quality selections. Very good.
The location in downtown Garland is great, an open (larger dining room than I expected), cheerful, casual, friendly environment. My drink was unsweetened iced tea and it was huge and delicious. I can't remember the last time I've enjoyed iced tea that much. I ordered the two (crunchy, chicken) taco lunch special with rice and beans. There was extra lettuce/tomatoes/cheese, even after over-stuffing the tacos, so I used the leftovers plus the chips and salsa and rice & beans to make a sort of nachos. Delish. The server and waiter and clean up were quick and friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant to Mexican food lovers.
First time try Dos Banderas. Went for lunch on a Thursday at 1pm. There many open tables at that time. Several waitresses were working so service was attentive. Tried the quesso (yellow). It was tasty. Had the Plablono Chicken. It was good. Rice and refried were better than average. Kind of a loud place and that was at 25% capacity. I would go back.
We came here for trivia night done by the Garland central library, it was a lot of fun! We were seated at the bar, was a little tight due to many people attending this event, with only 2 servers getting all the orders they did a great job at getting everyone served. Overall if there's another event here we will definitely attend. Food was good, great service and the place was clean.

The service at the restaurant was excellent, and the staff was both friendly and attentive. The atmosphere, while not exceptional, was pleasant enough for casual dining. Unfortunately, the food fell short of expectations. The refried beans—usually one of my favorites—were overly salty, and I could barely touch them. The beef also lacked flavor and didn’t leave much of an impression. It was a bit of a letdown overall, despite the great service.
This is a very nice restaurant just off the main square in downtown Garland. Very friendly, helpful and efficient staff. We sat in the bar and the surroundings and atmosphere were great. The menu has some very creative choices. I was disappointed with the food, It was cooked well and was alright but was really bland and lacked seasoning. Mexican/Tex-Mex food is not supposed to be bland. This restaurant really doesn't spice their food well and that was disappointing.
Overall the food was alright… The environment was clean and the staff was very kind. The chips and salsa were good but it was not spicy. The chips are crispy and thin. The food prices are reasonable. I ordered the chicken enchiladas that came with rice and refried beans. The shredded chicken had a good flavor but the beans and rice need some work. The beans do not taste refried and the rice lacks flavor.
This place is nice inside. Service was slow, we walked in and it took about 4-5 mins before we got greeted by someone and walked to our table. Wait staff seemed like they were “just there” if you know what I mean. We got our menus when we sat down and were told someone would be right with us. It took about 10 mins for someone to come and take our drink orders. When the food came out my food was just “warm”,even the tortillas were barely warm. my kids burger looked fine and he said he liked it. Not sure if we will try this place again.
Ordered bean and cheese nachos. Less cheese more beans. They piled the cheese on. And the nachos were soggy And IM STILL HUNGRY serving size was a perfect kid size. Teach me once. Nada mas
We been to dos Banderas before management/owner changed. Decided to give it another chance since we heard some good things Let’s start off We sat in the bar and asked for top-shelf margaritas. The bartender came over and asked us if we wanted house tequila in it. Ummm what? Top shelf means premium Second I ordered beef fajitas nachos and what was served to me can only be described as in edible. I didn’t even finish it. In stead of fajita steak, it’s served with chopped roast beef and was completely flavorless. Chips and salsa were good and the wife said her tacos were good. Also like the queso blanco Anyways another disappointing restaurant experience in Garland.
When we first came in there was no hostess present and once a waiter came to help we hardly got acknowledged which was fine, it’s not his job but a little unsettling. Once we sat down, we asked for waters and for whatever reason our child didn’t get one until we requested it. We asked for a bowl of queso and she offered a white one or yellow one, we picked white bc that’s what brought us to the location. I wasn’t informed that one would be spicy and the other not, when I asked to swap it out the waitress (not originally ours) gave such a dumb founded look as if it were a bother. I also asked if the consistency was the same bc the white queso was very thin, she said they were the same but the yellow one was thankfully thicker. The table behind us on the other hand had the original waiter that sat us and received a perfect explanation about both queso’s and it just seemed like they got better service than my family. The beef fajitas were delicious, the kids quesadilla was perfect, and the chimichanga even though small was delicious. Aside from poor service and bad queso, the visit was okay. I never leave bad tips but I did today and honestly felt like she didn’t even deserve the few dollars I left. The dirty looks in between each experience also didn’t help. The fact that no one cared about the experience either is alarming. Maybe we just didn’t look like their usual customers. We will never be back and never recommend to other people.
Nice restaurant and clean. The food has no flavor , I got the two enchilada plate. I’ve never had to use salt on enchiladas but both the chicken and beef enchilada needed it. This is below subpar tex mex. The chef was nice. Our waitress attitude was very bad she wasn’t pleasant at all.
We were excited to try this place, and our experience started off okay, the chips and salsa were decent, and our waitress was polite. We ordered a burger that was also decent, but the taco trio was a big disappointment. All three meats were extremely dry, no flavor, and honestly not enjoyable. My husband took one bite of each and couldn’t bring himself to eat more. Our waitress noticed he hadn’t touched his plate and kindly asked how everything was. We didn’t want to be rude but let her know the tacos weren’t good. A manager later stopped by with a very quick, surface-level “Everything good here?” but didn’t seem genuinely interested in hearing feedback, so we didn’t repeat the whole thing. Overall, the taco meat was dry and tasteless, and there was little effort made to make the situation right. We ended up paying full price for a meal we couldn’t eat. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning.
It was bad. I took $120 of food to go and it was bad. They gave me a wrong dinner that had mushrooms in it and I can’t eat them. The chicken was overcooked and the veggies were non existent. I’ve been going here for years. It’s been declining, but I’ve always given it one more chance. Last chance and we are done. I wish them all good luck but it was that bad. The chicken dishes were $16. I threw one out because of the mushrooms. And the other wasn’t worth it either.
Meh, we gave this place a second chance and came away unimpressed. The loaded queso is good. We prefer queso blanco but they have yellow as well, and the loaded extras were great. Chips were a little oily, but the second batch came out better. Salsa is good too. Tequila lime chicken was recommended by the server claiming it won taste of Garland. A little char on the chicken was good and I did like the glaze but needed more of it. I was not a fan of the squash/carrot veggie mix. The rice and black beans were bland. It has potential, but it wasn’t quite there. Wife had shrimp enchiladas and was also unimpressed. The poblano sauce was ok, but there didn’t seem to be anything in the tortillas other than unseasoned shrimp. Just tasted like something was missing. The elotes has an interesting bbq flavor. No cream, very little cheese, not spicy. It presented well but I wouldn’t have guessed elotes if you hadn’t told me that’s what it was supposed to be. Took a sip out of the sangria and it was awful. Extremely bitter somehow. Server was pleasant but seemed to have too many tables. Saturday night should have the A team. Overall disappointing. Queso wasn’t enough to save it and it wasn’t cheap enough to overlook the lack of interesting flavor. Not sure we would come back.

Some of the worst Tex Mex I have had in Texas. I'm sorry but this is not the place to go for good food and top of that the prices are on par with the top rated restaurants. Floors and table were EX…

This all happened in November 2023 for the record. I am unable to select that date at this time. Please note: It’s taken me this long to write this review as myself and my husband have both had majo…
The food was not good. Their taco meat tasted old and dry. Was way over salted. Nobody in our group liked their food. service was so so and not friendly. We all said never again.
Have been wanting to try this place very disappointed boring atmosphere good service tasteless food the chicken was tough dry and no flavor chicken fajitas The queso was Bland chips were stale oh well still looking for a good chicken fajita place
I’ve been a customer for several years. My friend and I recently met for dinner. They have changed their ingredients. The white blanco queso was not white and was not the same. It didn’t taste like real cheese. When we questioned it obviously being a different ingredient. They gave us a long explanation about it turning a differently color when heated. That was not true. My friend and I both cook and know food. It wasn’t the same product. Period. I’ve been going there since I moved to Garland and always get the white blanco queso. Never again. I was insulted that they didn’t just tell us the truth. Just tell me that ingredients were changed. It's obvious. Disappointed!!!
I had a disappointing experience with Dos Banderas. I placed a pick-up order and was told it would be ready promptly. However, I ended up waiting an additional 30 minutes after arriving. The staff was not only unhelpful but outright rude when I inquired about the delay. To make matters worse, when I got home, I discovered they had given me the wrong food. For the time, frustration, and lack of care I experienced, I cannot recommend this restaurant. There are plenty of other places in the area that value their customers and deliver better service. I suggest trying them instead.
