Digitizing an old audio cassette from February 20, 1989, I mention having lunch at Aunt Cookies in Geneseo. So happy to see the place still exists!

The best sub shop in Geneseo by far! This place has been around for over 30 years and has always made amazing sandwiches!

They say they have “the best subs in town.” I concur. Probably even in the county. Very fair prices and always a cheerful staff behind the counter.

The sub sandwiches here are really freaking good and they have an awesome selection to pic from too. Plus their prices are pretty cheap as well.

It is a typical sub shop but the rolls are exceptional. Tender, toasted and not to large that the sub is too bready.

Here in NY, you always hear about Wegmans subs. But these guys blow Wegmans so far out of the water, it's insane. Every sub tastes amazing. I even forgot to add veggies on one of mine recently, and still topped over Wegmans. Service is great, cute little dining room. This is the place to go if you want subs.

If you have not been able to make it to Aunt Cookies, then you truly are missing out! They make THE BEST subs and sandwiches. They always seem to have people there, but that does not slow down service. The place is clean and they are so nice! You need to visit!!!

I've lived in Geneseo close to 35 years, and Aunt Cookies has and will always have the BEST Subs around. Stop in when you're in town. The service is always excellent as well. I give them 5 stars and an additional star for still having arcade games😃

We all LOVED our sub sandwiches, including the buns. They had options that worked and are flexible. We have placed their info in our phones for future reference. Staff was very pleasant to work with.

I love Aunt Cookie's! Great subs, great cookies, and great service. When I went in during the lunch hour rush and they misplaced my order for a half sub, they made it up to me by giving me a whole sub at no additional cost. These people know how to make subs!

I always come here when I work in geneseo and while I'm not big on sandwiches/subs this has become a place I enjoy coming to, the owner and staff are very friendly as well I went in for lunch yesterday and my card wasn't working so I paid cash I only had a $10 on me so I told her to put the chips back she told me to grab some anyway

Aunt cookies has great subs and service for reasonable prices, they toast their buns and it gives the sub bun a little crisp which adds to the flavor. Definitely recommend if youre looking for a great sub!

Great local place for good service and subs. They only serve subs and limited salads. Their hours are very good too. They practically never close. The staff is insanely nice too. They well deserve their tips.

Inexpensive and delicious! My only complaint is how tiny a place it is...not nearly big enough to hold all the people who (rightly) want to eat there. Drinks can be bought from the vending machines inside, subs, chips, and cookies from the counter.

I used to eat at Aunt Cookies when I was in college (1996-2000). I go back a few times a year, and it has stood the test of time. They taste as good today as they did 20 years ago. Worth the drive from Rochester.

Go here if you're in the area! The rolls are great, I had the Italian roll, and they put in lots of meat. It was one of the best subs I've ever had! They are large too! It was truly one of the best subs I've ever had! The whole family loved it!

I decided to come here for the first time the other day, despite going to Geneseo since 2020. I have no idea why I haven’t been here sooner. The subs are so delicious, the pickles are so fresh and crispy and a whole sub is very reasonably priced. It is convenient that you can place an order online so I can just grab it and go. Cannot wait to be back in the fall and have another delicious sub from aunt cookies!

This tiny sub shop in the heart of Geneseo is a perfect spot to grab some excellent sandwiches and cookies. Their bread is freshly made in house and has a great crispy crust and the inside is perfect too, not being too hard or too spongy. Toppings were excellent and my ham and cheese came with a type of mayo/slaw which I loved. Definitely will stop again to try some of their other specials.

They have the best subs in Geneseo, but the only reason for a non-5-star rating is the fact that they changed their bread recently. The old bread was better, but they have hope, yet if they change it back 😎. . Update: They changed their bread, and it's awesome. I love local shops like this, and they're always so patient and kind when I bring my son.

Every time I visit home I have to stop and get a sub. Haven't found anywhere else that's quite the same. Wegmans sub shop is close, but not quite. Never been able to figure out if it's the meat, the bread, or just the whole package, but they're the best subs around Update (Aug '19): They've renovated the shop. Lighter decor colors and more sitting room. Best part is the subs don't seem to have changed at all. Still the best.

O M G. We took our daughter to SUNY Geneseo for freshman orientation and one of the students mentioned that Aunt Cookies had the best subs he had ever had. He was not wrong. First, it was a good thing we got half subs because they were huge. And the best part? Warm sub rolls! They were such a delicious touch! Definitely go there again when we visit our daughter!

What can I say about Aunt Cookies Sub Shop that hasn't already been said. Their subs are delicious, well made, toasty and just super! They have recently renovated their store, so don't be thrown off by their new appearance. So much bigger and brighter! A must have if you need a sub in Geneseo, NY!

I was passing through the area last summer to make my rounds of my old college town. The sub just wasn't the same. I took it as yet another change to the cherished main street area. Tried it again this month when was in town (maybe it was just that one time I thought)... The subs are back in good aunt cookies form! They have new mgmt this year who know that a sub isn't just throwing a couple pieces of bread and meat together. The specific combo of toppings with toasted roll is back. The manager and the top maker were fun and friendly. Will always return anytime I'm back

My daughter goes to SUNY Geneseo and we were heading out for a hike and stopped at this cute little sub shop. Everything was delicious. The fresh baked rolls were delicious and so were the cookies. Looking forward to our next visit.

I was back in town this weekend for my 50 year college reunion and it was as good as they were 50 years ago. Family owned for all that time and had a great conversation with the owner Joanne. The meat, cheese and veggies have always been top notch but their rolls are what truly sets them apart. 😋

If you should road trip, and want a comforting friendly, music sharing time.... and amazing subs that I dream about sometimes. These people know what's up. Wish I could grab these before boarding a plane and have this roast beef, all the way to destination. I got roast beef with extra beef. Their bread taste so good. ( Cherry on top). We are new to nearby. And they filled us in on everything in the area. Not like people pleaser accommodation. But as equals. I'm going back .

To be honest the last time I ate there it wasn't the best. This was during a transition time/remodel. I'm glad today we decided to try them again. Everyone agrees it was excellent. The subs are better than Wegmans (dibelas) subs. It's clean, the staff are pleasant and it only took a few mins for 3 large (whole) subs. I have no pictures to share since I ate my whole sub.

Very rarely does a sub place get everything right. I live close to an hour away and had a sub brought to me by a family member today. I have experienced these subs 2 times in my entire life. I didn't eat the most recent one until somewhere around 4 hrs after it was made. Even after all that time it still managed to blow me away. The roll was perfectly crispy in all the right places, while still leaving a bit of doughy softness in the middle to give the ingredients the ability to shine. The cheese (Swiss in my case) was an unexpected reprieve from the usual bland commercial texture-based globular filler that we have all become accustomed to from popular chain restaurants. It actually tasted like real Swiss cheese, with that mildly pungent flavor that it is supposed to have. The turkey is on a whole different level. We've all seen that "convince me meme" of the guy sitting at the table. As someone who takes pride in my amateur ability to judge deli meat - I'd sit at that table all day to defend that turkey. Overall - top tier ingredients that all come together in a symphony of flavor, allowing every ingredient to perform their own brief solo, resulting in the grammy-winning finished product. The term "sandwich artist" is wasted on companies who don't deserve to use the term nearly as much as this place. Decades of practice to perfect the art of the long sandwich. The food Network or guy fieri or someone should hype this spot if they haven't already.

First time ordering here after many coworkers have stated it’s the best sub shop around for the area and I have to agree. That was one of the best subs I’ve had in a long time that’s not owned by a chain. Being able to order online and schedule pick up at a later time was a huge help the prices are very reasonable compared to other sub shops.

Excellent local sub shop with great food and friendly staff. They toast all their buns (unless you request them not to) to keep them fresher. I got a full/large sub and ate half for lunch one day (fresh from the shop), put the other half in the fridge, and then ate the second half the next day for lunch. So good!

The subs are absolutely terrific. Toasted Italian sub roll with lots of meat and the proper amount of lettuce, mayo, oil and tomatoes. Turkey, ham, Italian and roast beef subs are all great. Fast friendly service. College town sub shop atmosphere. And yes, the cookies are very good too.

When my boyfriend said he wanted to drive 45 for a sub, I was skeptical. How could a sub be different, unique, and amazing?? Well it was worth the drive! I think the main thing that sets them apart is that they slightly toast the bread prior to putting anything in it which gives it a really nice taste and texture - I don't know any other sub place that does this. Plus they don't skimp on the meats or sauces, and the quality is really good. Definitely the best sub shop around!!

I was a first time visitor to the Central New York college town of Geneseo on Monday September 9, 2019. I was hungry and it was lunchtime so I went exploring this charming village looking for some food. I had just walked out of the pizza place across the street because the music was obnoxiously loud and then I saw this sandwich shop. Apparently this business is the oldest one in town. The restaurant was quiet and comfortable. I had an half Italian sub, toasted with yellow mustard. Delicious. The staff was friendly and my Discover Card was accepted. I recommend Aunt Cookies when in Geneseo NY.

I came in with expectations a little bit too high from what I had heard. I'd definitely stop again but maybe not go out of my way.

I went to aunt cookies in 1980 when I was at geneseo and had to visit again now that my daughter is there. Still amazing subs. Not the same feel as when I was there but still great.

Disappointed. I’ve been eating at aunt cookies since I was a kid. Drove 30 mins for a sub got there about 8pm aware they close at 9pm. Was told we couldn’t eat there because the dinner room closes at 8pm. Everyone knows the subs are better hot. Update your hours on Google if you have different dinning room hours. I would have stayed home.

The subs used to be a lot better when they toasted their buns more. That is their whole slogan. And yet when you get your sub it's barely even warm, and when you asked them to toast it twice it's barely browned like it used to be. If they toasted their roles better I would give it a four and a half Stars.

After hearing so much about this place, I came in got 2 subs one was a toasted cheese sub other was a turkey not toasted. It was $32 dollars after a $10 dollar tip. The turkey is great quality,but the reviews about how soggy and wet the subs are were not lying. I just didn't care for it being that wet. Gonna stick with my previous place for now.

Not enough meat on subs. Not enough mayo on subs. Customer service is not up to par. Basically you get college kids who really don't have a clue how to treat their customers. Lacking skills to deal with the public.

I've eaten alot of subs in my time but never have I seen them made like this. laying out the cold cuts and toppings on a dirty cutting board that probably hasn't been cleaned since the morning while the rolls are toasted in a beat up toaster that takes 10 minutes to toast them all the while looking at all the food on the floor can't imagine what's underneath the counters time for a health inspector possibly.

14 dollarsfor a ham N Swiss sub asked to have it toasted but parts of the subs were burnt. Soon as I took that first bite all I could taste was burnt soggy bread and blah. Only 4 slices of ham that was sliced to barely exist barely any tOppings

Called my order in. The rude lady put the phone down so she could talk to somebody else about her weekend plans. Finally took my order and told me 15 minutes. We showed up in 15 minutes and we had to wait another 20 minutes. We finally got our food home. It was nasty. We couldn’t finish it and then we spent the rest of the night and the next day in the bathroom. Aunt Cookies is not the old Aunt Cookies who were polite, courteous, and respectful. Will not be going back there ever again just nasty

I ordered a veggie sub expecting to get varied vegetables and requested no hot peppers. I was asked if I wanted the condiments in red and I said yes. I received a sub with 4 small slices of tomato and lettuce. Since it was to go I didn't realize right away. It should not be advertised as a VEGGIE sub! List it as lettuce and tomato.
