We were there on a Tuesday around 3pm, so no rush. The locale was very clean and even colorful. It is adorned throughout with painted wood scenes of Mexican lore and folklore. Amazing art! Our server, Mariano, was delightful and helpful. I enjoy my meal more when I can have interesting tidbits of conversation with the person taking care of us. The food is Guadalajara “guiso”, delicious and plentiful. We had different seafood fixings to celebrate my wife’s birthday. The “Salmón Rancho Viejo” was tender and tasty. The “Camarones Tampiqueños” were my first experience with that Guadalajara sauce and I was happy that I went for it. We opened of course with tamales and finished it off with the “Xangos” dessert. They are very generous with their tortilla chips & salsa and their LARGE piña 🍍 colada. All in all, a very nice experience. ¡Viva Méjico!
Great surprise while at the lake. Love it. Bit of a miss on the service during my most recent visit. Waiter didn't check up on us at all. Drinks empty, and it was one of those times where you realize everyone else has gotten their food.. and you ordered before them. First time this has happened, but I've only been 3-4 times.
Amazing spot! Passing through and stopped for taco bell, decided to come here instead, and boy was that the right decision! We ordered the lunch special of a steak quesadilla with rice and beans, and the Santa fe burrito, with an order of birria tacos as well, plus a mojito for her. Everything was cooked perfect, the meat was tender and juicy, the rice and beans weren't stale, the burrito was loaded up, and the birria tacos had lots of flavor (get extra napkins with them though!). Food came out fast, and they were very attentive. For 50 bucks plus tip, I couldnt have had a better lunch out, and We left extremely full. Will be stopping by whenever we pass through!
Ended up visiting this location after catching a movie. The staff is extremely friendly, the food is great, and the Modelo on tap is amazing. Highly suggest visiting this place if you’re in the area and craving authentic Mexican food. They won’t disappoint.
On a rainy & chilly day, we were looking for a place to eat lunch with our dog. I saw outside tables, under cover in a picture on the listing. We gave it a chance. There was a little bit of hesitation when I asked if we could sit outside with our dog, they allowed it. We are so glad! The food was outstanding and the service was extremely friendly. We had the taco salad with chicken. The chicken had a wonderful flavor and the crispy “bowl” complimented it nicely. We also had the Pork carnitas which were cooked perfectly. The whole dish was very tasty. Highly recommend and we will be back when in this area again.

My wife and I went back to Rancho Viejo for dinner, and this visit was even better than our first! 🌮✨ The food was full of flavor, the atmosphere felt welcoming, and our waiter was super friendly. A great experience all around — looking forward to our next visit! 🙌
This place is spectacular. On a rainy day at Conesus lake, my friends and I wanted a pick me up. We came here with hopes and dreams of being able to get chips & queso + margaritas to go, not knowing if this dream could come true. But fear not, Rancho Viejo in Geneseo came through for us! A lovely employee, April, was incredibly hospitable and helpful in our ordering process. We left with our hearts full and heads held up high. Would come back any day, any time.

Order for two and take some home,,,and when your take away is done,,,come back and do it again. Dankidy, dank, dank Mexican at its finest. The large margarita was intimidatingly amazing-but I got through it. The tacos, enchiladas, complimentary chips and salsa were all top tier level. I no longer need to make the trip to Mexico this year. Kiss your server and have your family reunion, wake or brisk here to elevate the occasion. Overall I had fun.
This place is wonderful. The staff very patient and attentive. The food is delicious. I really enjoyed ordering the tamales with salsa verde. The rice was so good and fluffy. My dad enjoyed his pollo con poblano. I loved my cilantro-jalapeño margarita. Order it with salt and tajin on the rim. Can’t wait to come back!
I LOVE this place! It’s really adorable inside. The service is great and the atmosphere is amazing. They import their booths from Mexico and the artwork on them is beautiful! I love looking at them and trying to see each one, they’re all different. The food is absolutely delicious and I’ve never had a bad meal. This is our favorite ‘treat’ restaurant! The prices aren’t too terrible either!

This review is long overdue, given that I have eaten here about 70 times over the past dozen years and have never been disappointed! BEST MEXICAN RESTAURANT in the area. The food is always delicious and AUTHENTIC (my Mexican friend has vetted it). Portions are large. Margaritas are just right. Service is superior AND friendly. Best of all, the colorful ambiance accompanied by Mexican mariachi music is cheerfully welcoming. One of our all-time favorites!
Authentic Mexican food without breaking your budget! If you're in the mood for Mexican food, PLEASE wipe that Taco Bell from your memory and go here instead! For less than $20 per person you can get absolutely STUFFED! You get tortilla chips with 4 different salsas to get you started, and the meals come out QUICK! One of the top eateries in Geneseo for sure!
Amazing food, the dessert and the sauce with tortillas was delicious. excellent service.its decorations is beautiful. I was around for 5 vacations days and this is the the best place in the area. Highly recommended. I definitely will come back. 💯

Overall, this was a pretty decent experience. We were greeted and seated as soon as we walked through the door. We were given complimentary chips and salsa as an appetizer and drinks were brought out fast. I Chose to go with four stars because when I asked to take my drink to go, that costed me $18, they only gave me a quarter of what I paid for in a small to go cup. The cup that came in was enormous. I was not aware a large was that big. I should have been leaving with at least 4 to go cups with the amount that was left. And when I asked to take the chips home they never brought me a to go container for them. Food was brought up pretty fast after we placed our order. The food was decent but slightly overpriced. I paid $70 for two people, which included two meals, 1 soda, and one extra large drink. The $18 for the extra large drink was definitely worth the price. Again, this cup was huge and beautifully decorated. However, the food, was average and kind of simple. While it was decent, I just don't feel that it justified $25 for a side of rice and refried beans, 2 tortillas, lettuce , and meat. Customer service was good and everybody that we dealt with was extremely friendly. I will definitely return because it was a decent experience with a comfortable atmosphere, and definitely for the drinks. Unfortunately, I was highly disappointed that they didn't give me what I paid for when I left and forgot my to go box.
First time here and overall pleasantly surprised. My vegetarian option left a lot to be desired taste-wise. The cheese tasted cheap and I gave most of it to my dining companion for his to-go box. On the other hand the gorditas that were ordered looked phenomenal. Big and fluffy with meat, cheese, lettuce, and sour cream. Came with a side of rice and beans. We ordered fried icecream for dessert and I admit I haven't had it in years but I thought it was supposed to be fried right before being served? Ours was cold and frozen solid. I had seen the dessert on the website and was very excited to order it but sadly let down. The waiter was extremely nice and offered refills on our drinks and chips/salsa without us ever having to ask. Overall it was a nice experience and we would visit again if we're in the area.

I can tell you that they have Great flavors but very small portions, didn’t expect it for the price compare to where I come from and how they serve. I’ve Dined in and Dined out, for the most part customer service is not all that great neither, One time they ran out of rice 🤔 what restaurant runs out of rice. Not even Chipotle runs out of that main ingredient. Personally Not authentic. UPDATE: One star across the board, because they don't have accurate prices displayed online, they offer online ordering on their website but it's never actually accepting orders, and it's been weeks now that the issue hasn't been fixed. Edit: The prices you see in the menu pics they have posted ARE NOT ACCURATE. Everything is two to three dollars more expensive than the menu pics they have posted. This is even more reason for you to offer online ordering again.... so your customers can be informed of an accurate food price. Bump to the Top Edit count = 4
