Opinions de Namaste Dine In Georgetown
Delicious food! We always come and share several plates. The curry and tikka masala are delicious. The garlic naan is some of the best I’ve ever had. I always order some of the chai as well.
Excellent flavors and authentic taste. Spice level on point too. Tastes similar to bengal tiger in Seattle!
We finally went and checked out Namaste last night for dinner. It was legit! We’ve been asking around town and nobody we talked to had actually been there. If you’re looking for authentic Indian and/or Nepalese food, this place is great. We will absolutely be back.
First time here for a family of five. Wow!, totally impressed. I'm fifty and never been to an Indian restaurant. Should have done this sooner. My fave was the Chicken 65 medium + heat. Holy Cow! It was amazing! The naan bread garlic is a must. And then the Chicken Chow Mien in Indian style? No way, this was awesome too.
We popped in for a last minute weekday date night. The food was incredible! We got Saag Paneer, Tandoori chicken and Lamb Madras Coconut. Our service was prompt and friendly. We will definitely be back!
The atmosphere was very relaxed, service was prompt and friendly, prices were decent for the portion sizes and the quality of food you receive. Getting down to the nitty gritty: I really enjoyed the masala chai they had, as well as the mango lassi and rice puddings from the dessert menu. Subtly flavoured with spices that aren't overpowering and the sweetness was just right. We ordered a goat curry (hot) and vindaloo curry (extra hot), and a lamb sekuwa khaja set to share. All the meats in the dishes were tender, flavours were enjoyable with a good balance of spices, and complimented well by rice, poppadoms and naan bread. It's worth dining in as the fresh naan bread had a lovely buttery flavour, the dishes were hot and delicious, and since I do like my curries spicy I can ask for that directly. I do note that there was a buffet option available, but I personally just enjoy "a la carte" so I can have spicier dishes.
My ratings are just about how I enjoyed the experience, not about how I'd compare to other different places. This place was clean and comfortable with just enough plants and decor to add to the comfort. Only one visit here so far but my son and I both decided it was our new favorite small Indian restaurant.
My wife and I decided to step out of our comfort zone tonight. We had very limited experience with Indian food and none with Nepali. The butter chicken was fantastic. The sekuwa khaja set was awesome. The garlic and rosemary naan were delicious. Both owners were serving customers. They helped us with the menu. Adding a bar would be a nice addition to a great restaurant.
Very pleased with this place. We have dined at the lunch buffet a few times and really enjoy it. It is quaint, quiet, and has a subtle Indian vibe. Definitely recommend.
We have had the pleasure of dining here several times recently and have never been disappointed. On the contrary, we love the easy-going and relaxing atmosphere, and the staff are always welcoming and knowledgeable. We find the food offerings delicious, and appreciate their willingness to temper the spices "just right", and make adjustments to suit individual palates . Their servings are generous in the extreme – we strongly recommend Namaste!
WOW! The very best Indian food I have ever had (outside of NYC- that’s hard to beat!) Paneer Tikka masala and Chana Masala were out of this worth. Absolute flavor explosion with every mouthful. The garlic naan was the best EVER! We visited on Saturday afternoon and there was a buffet but we opted for menu ordering. The server was kind and helpful. THIS is my new favorite restaurant! See you guys again very soon!!
Namaste! It's finally here! No more drives to RR or Pflugerville when I'm craving Indian or Nepali cuisine. Tonight I enjoyed the spicy, crunchy goodness of a Lamb Sekuwa Khaja set :P Buffet w/ drinks is priced a little under $19. I prefer to come for dinner so I can bring home leftovers. If you don't want to wait, avoid coming during peak hours. This place has been popular since day one! Looking forward to the day they can open the patio. 🍃
If you're in the mood for a satisfying meal, this spot is definitely worth a visit. The food is flavorful without being overly salty, and they let you customize the heat/spiciness to your liking. so whether you like a mild kick or something bolder, they've got you covered. I went with the chicken boti kebab and chow mein chicken, and both dishes were delicious, served piping hot and perfectly cooked. The service was exceptional, really attentive without being overbearing. Plus, the atmosphere is relaxed; they play their native music in the background, creating a cozy vibe, but it's not overwhelming. It’s also not super crowded, so if you go around 2 PM like I did, you’ll get to enjoy a quieter dining experience. Definitely a solid spot if you’re craving something tasty and made to your preferences!
Tried a bit of everything, the broccoli cauliflower curry was so creamy. The garlic naan was so fresh. The biryani was amazing with goat, vindaloo lamb was ok.
First time visiting and I loved the food and atmosphere! They even have an all you can eat buffet that I have to go back to try some different dishes. The buffet is not available on Mondays for those that want to try it. We had the butter chicken that had an amazing sauce to dip the naan bread in . I highly recommend this dish. The chow mein noodles were also good .
First time here with my wife and kids. Staff was friendly and helpful, restaurant was clean and welcoming. The food was amazing! I ordered lamb vindaloo (pictured), my wife ordered chicken Sahi Korma, my son ordered lamb biryani and my daughters shared the Tikka masala. Everything was fantastic, I ordered extra spicy while everyone else ordered mild. The biryani came out spicier than expected but everything else was as expected. We also ordered Kashmiri Sweet Naan and Ghee Paratha (both pictured), the ghee was good but the Kashmiri was to die for. Topping it off was a masala chai with a perfect blend of spice and sweetness. Excellent experience and we will be back!
I moved to Georgetown back in March and was beyond excited when I found Namaste down the road from Me. They weren't open yet, but I took pictures of what Their hours would be and told Myself I would come back. Yesterday I fulfilled that promise to Myself...and I am soooo happy that I did. I have lived in ATX since 2001 and have dined at numerous restaurants over the years, but it has been some years since I have had Indian food this delicious (there was a restaurant off of Riverside I frequented back in the day). I came in expecting to order off of the menu and was delighted to find out They have buffet. It was the BESTEST way to try a lil bit of everything and NOTHING disappointed. *happy dance* ensued with each bite. They even served hot chai tea and mango pineapple juice complimentary when You get the buffet. I def got more than one glass of the mango pineapple juice. It was smooth and refreshing after all the humidity and Texas heat We have had with these frequent thunderstorms. The ambiance was so cheerful yet calming at the same time. I loved the music, color scheme and decorations. The way The owners have incorporated the natural beauty of the trees into Their space made My *heart smile* I look forward to sitting on the patio. Good news for anyone with back problems and short legs like Me...the booths and the tables both have comfy seating that accommodates all shapes n sizes. The bathroom was super spacious and roomy (which I really appreciate as someone with curves). The staff was so gracious and patient. I witnessed Them greet every customer with the same enthusiasm and how They made sure everyone felt at home and welcome. There was a family inquiring on catering and Dinesh brought out an example of the pans They would be serving in and explained how many people it would feed. He never rushed the family and asked probing questions to make sure He addressed all of Their concerns. Not gonna lie, I came back today to see if They had buffet again and was thrilled to see They did. A few items were different from the menu yesterday (for example, today it was an orange drink instead of the mango pineapple juice) but every item I put on My plate was just as yummy. Sushil recognized Me from Yesterday and remembered I like Dr Pepper with My meal. Today They had the rice pudding and I couldn't help but *cheese* when I fixed My serving. Both days They have been busy and both days They provided excellent customer service. I am so grateful to have a go to place to meet My Indian food cravings with authentic Nepalese cuisine. Ohhh and I asked about Their stage n party lights. Sushil told Me They have events! *clapping hands* Bring on the good times! I almost forgot. Yesterday I ordered the Gulab Jamun separate from the buffet. Lemme tell You...when it arrived, I already knew I had made the Right Life choice lol It was the perfect temperature and was the sweet goodness I have searched for over the years and hadn't been able to find. If You made it this far, *high five* Come with Your Appetite for real for real and if You order off of the menu, prepare to wait for it to be prepared fresh. If You can wait patiently for Whataburger, then You can do the same here and wait in anticipation knowing that it was Made Just for You and hasn't sat all day gathering wonkiness. Each plate is crafted with skill and care and love. Shine On 💛
Just awesome food. This is not your fast food restaurant. Be prepared to wait a bit for freshly prepared delicious food. We totally enjoyed it and will definitely be back. This is owned by a veteran. Anyone who voluntarily gives up part of his life to serve his country, and its citizens deserves to be supported. The ambience in this restaurant says friendly. Everything was immaculate.

We've had Indian food from numerous areas I'd say this place isn't bad. I love the fact that this place gives you enough rice (tho I like to use almost 2 bowls, since I'mAsian). Unlike some other Indian restaurants. Don't mind going back here.
Food was authentic and flavorful. If you ask for heat, you’ll get it. My favorite Indian food in central Texas. Give them a shot you’ll leave full and happy!
My oldest daughter introduced me to Namaste, and I’m so grateful she did. I’ve been searching for a truly great Indian restaurant ever since Taj Palace in Austin closed a few years ago, and Namaste more than filled that space — it exceeded it. Kadai is my absolute favorite Indian dish, and I can honestly say this was the best Kadai I’ve ever had. I love my food very spicy and usually go “all the way,” but something told me to choose a level two this time. I’m so glad I listened. It was perfectly very spicy, deeply flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The service was just as memorable as the food. Our waiter was incredible — kind, attentive, thoughtful, and genuinely helpful. We both ordered chai tea, which was amazing, and my daughter had the butter chicken, which she loved. The naan was perfectly done, and I especially appreciated the thoughtful touch of serving water the traditional way in copper cups with a pitcher. The ambiance was lovely, warm, and inviting, making the entire experience feel special. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and will happily travel to Georgetown many more times just to eat here. Thank you so much, Namaste. You’ve earned a lifelong customer

We had been anticipating the opening of this restaurant. My friend and I went for lunch on a Thursday, 2 weeks after they opened, and were very pleased to see the place was quite busy. The decor and ambiance is nice; they have an outdoor walled patio which looked enticing. Although the lunch buffet had plenty to choose from, the flavors were lacking. The chicken tikka masala was soupy and bland. The mixed veggie pakoras and dal were good. Their dinner menu is quite extensive so I will definitely be back to check that out and hopefully get another star on this review.
Good little Indian spot (and I think the only option?) in Georgetown. Their mild is properly unspiced, so safe for kiddos. The spicy has a nice kick but won’t set your mouth on fire. Prices are a little steep for portion sizes, but that’s most things these days. We placed a large order and it was ready in ~25 mins, which was nice. The ambiance is cool — the restaurant has non-traditional layout, is decorated well, and they have a lovely shaded (small) front patio and (larger) back patio. I’d definitely go back!
Definitely had a hankering for South Asian food this day. Luckily, we planned a dinner meeting and got a full spread for the meal. That goat curry was fantastic. We kept the spice levels very low because a couple folks at the table couldn’t handle the heat. Otherwise, food was excellent, and service was friendly. The restaurant wasn’t very full, so they let us stay for a bit to conduct our meeting. I appreciated that and gave them a little higher tip than usual.
The food was really good. The Naan bread with garlic was awesome. The service was great as well. The atmosphere was a little weird. The tables and chairs sat closer to the floor than regular. For being a big dude, getting into the chair was a little comedic. The location does not fit into a restaurant type of vibe. Nonetheless, I will be back to try different foods.
TLDR: Five stars for the food (Momos, Malai Kofta, Ghee Roti were excellent); I’d take off 1.5 stars for affordability but the lovely Nepali/Indian food deserves a 4/5! We’ll definitely be back to dine in here. Food, most impressive to least: - Chilli Veg Momos: delicious momo stuffing, tasty tangy sauce with bell peppers and onions; I look forward to getting the steamed momos next time, because I know the stuffing will be excellent - ghee roti: their roti chef needs a pat on the back because that roti was the softest most flavourful roti I’ve had so far in the Austin area - Malai Kofta: flavourful, creamy and nutty, albeit with koftas on the smaller side - goat curry: well cooked with good spices - Aloo kulcha, which is a naan stuffed with potato, was incredibly soft but didn’t pack a punch, so meant to be eaten with a curry. If they turn their Aloo kulcha into an Aloo Paratha, this could be a real winner - the Sadeko Bhatmas/Badam, which is a tangy mix of Split Soya Beans and Peanuts with onion, tomato, Sev etc. Would not get this again with the Soya Bean Positives: - Tasty food, I was not expecting everything to be SO flavourful - Cute dish ware, ambience is fun, great Bollywood music - Timely service considering the restaurant was not too busy (hoping that changes for them soon, with many more people eating there!) Neutrals: The menu is a little pricy Overall: glad we dined here and happy to have a Nepali restaurant (food from the Indian subcontinent!) in Georgetown!
Hubby and I tried the buffet today at Namaste and we both enjoyed it. $18.99 per person all you can eat and included your drink. This is a fair price considering most restaurants you pay that for only one plate. I do have to say my favorite, of what they had today on the buffet, was the chicken curry and the veggie chow mein noodles. The person we cashed out with said they do mix up the menu so they have different items daily. I do like goat meat and he said they had that on their Saturday buffet, I missed it by one day. Hubby liked the tikki masala and rice. We both liked the naan bread, it was warm fluffy and light. We will come back again and we encourage others to try this as well if you enjoy authentic Indian food.

I came here today for the lunch buffet and I was disappointed. The chicken Tikka masala had a few pieces of chicken and fresh naan. I asked for more and they said they would bring it out. They brought it about 20 minutes later. When I was done with my food, I got up to get some kheer. I asked for a bowl and they told me to use a plate. I told the guy I was not eating soup or kheer on a plate. I got my small Styrofoam cup of kheer and lo and behold, there were no more spoons. Wow... another wait. These folks are so unprepared to open a buffet. Seriously!!! If you can't get someone to check the buffet every 5 minutes, you're doing it all wrong!!! Also, I drank my water out of little paper cups. They gave everyone regular cups (see pix). The best things on the buffet were the masala potatoes and kheer. The rest were "ok". I'm not coming back.
Ordered specifically on the phone for to go. Asked for a mint chuntney with my veggie samosas, and the lady over the phone even reiterated that I, indeed wanted the mint chuntney, never got the mint chuntney…. Sent my boyfriend in the restaurant to pay for the food, and he said the service was awful, the lady made it seem like she didn’t want him there. The food is mid for the price and who leaves out the mint chuntney. Felt spiteful. That’s all folks
Review: So food is bit Americanized, - We ordered Samosa chat it would have been spicer , I thought mint chutney and yoghurt was used in lesser quantities - Hubs ate Chicken Wings which were sweet and spicy (he ordered medium spicy) - Veg Chowmein was good. Few points to be noted: - Ask for spicy food when they ask mild ,medium or spicy

Food was not very remarkable (all rather bland). Maybe our expectations were too high? We tried the lunch buffet. It would help if they had a plate warmer and also turned the temp up on the steam tables. Left as is, by the time you get your food to the table, you're not eating hot (barely even warm) food. The veggie pakora was very flavorful but it was cold. The dipping sauces were delicious! The creamed spinach was also very good.

Being one of the few Indian restaurants in Georgetown, it is my go to when I am craving Indian food. The place has potential. But service is slow. If you order take out, the prices increases $2-5 per dish. I would say the only thing I like here is the Naan. Everything is bland! Please for the love of god add more seasoning/salt to your dishes, I know you are trying to cater to the white Americans in town but I cannot eat here anymore.
This was probably the most bland and spiceless Indian food we've ever had. Ordered online for delivery, and food was delivered quickly. Butter chicken, saag paneer, somosas, breads, dessert. Nearly flavorless sauces. They offered no options on grubhub to specify spice level for each item like you normally see, so we assumed it would be medium or a little lower. Both were zero spice, and the flavor barely registered. The chicken pieces were very small 1/2-inch cubes, like it was out of a bag of frozen cubed chicken. Samosas were crunchy, not soft. The dessert tasted stale. Nothing seemed fresh, other than the naan - which was ok, not great. The food containers didn't help the situation - rice was in flimsy styrofoam boxes, leaking in the bag everywhere. Naan was not fully covered in foil, so barely warm. Then everything was stuffed into a single undersized bag, barely fitting. Maybe our bad experience was just a fluke.

If you order take out, the prices increases $2-5 per dish. I would say the only thing I like here is the Naan. Everything is bland! Please for the love of god add more seasoning/salt to your dishes, I know you are trying to cater to the white Americans in town but I cannot eat here anymore.
Genuinely horrible experience. I had to send back my cup because there was still lip marks on it. The floor was dirty and the air smells like old grease. If this place was bulldozed and turned into a grass field, it would better serve the community.
I really wanted to have a hidden restaurant gem nearby but this wasn’t it. Water is served in a copper pot and copper cup. Makes the water taste like it’s full of pennies. Garlic naan bread was $5 compared to $3 for regular naan. And when the Garlic naan came out, it barely had garlic butter. The worst part was the one music track on repeat. The same song over and over every 2 minutes. 2 curries and rice, 2 naan, 2 waters, 1 mango lassi = $52 On the upside, the decor is nice.
Unfortunately, the wings were extremely over cooked and tasted like they were old and from the previous day. Butter chicken sauce was amazing but the chicken was dry and tasted old. Service amazing but I believe they used the previous days food. Second time trying it and won't be going back. Tarka is ALWAYS on point.
Ate there a month of opening, it had a super wired vibe, food was tasty, but not delicious. Tried it out a second time about 4 months ago and food wasn't as good and tasted frozen or something off. Vibe has 't changed. Hope they get it right, because a the dishes have potential since there's other cuisine lime it in the area. Won't be coming back anytime soon.
I had one of the most frustrating dining experiences here. I called ahead to confirm they were offering the buffet, and was told yes. But when we arrived, there was no food coming out at all. We sat there for over 20 minutes with empty trays and no refills, completely ignored while the staff focused only on à la carte customers. To make things worse, we still ended up paying over $40 for basically some bread and sauce. If you're not going to actually serve food for the buffet, then don't advertise it. This was a complete waste of time and money.
Not worth it. $20 per person weekend lunch buffet of scraps. We arrived at noon and the food looked like it was sitting there since this morning and was never refilled. While we were there for an hour and a half, they never restocked food and had to request which took forever to come out. When it arrived they gave us a small bowl with 2 pieces of chicken. This place is pretty much daytime robbery. Highly not recommend coming here unless you want to waste your money.

The staff was friendly, but the overall food quality was below average. The prices were high compared to the portions. The biryani was quite oily and had frozen vegetables, which detracted from its freshness and flavor. Most of the other dishes lacked taste, except for the vegetable momos, which were the only highlight. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this place to others.
I hated the way they serve the customers will never visit again! There is a girl server i didn't get her name but that girl is rude and doesn't know anything about service! And guess what she started flirting with my boyfriend. No shame! I dont call smiling and giving good compliments flirting but she started asking for his number and goes you deserve better! I just stood their because the food was good. Everything is good except for that one girl server. I'm 100% sure her name is shruti or shri sth! Have a look at it.
