Best Indian restaurant in Glasgow! Giving 5 stars for their delicious food and excellent service. Cocktail options were great and great atmosphere.
Excellent service, great vibes and authentic food. Even the prices were great, especially considering the luxurious vibes. We tried the tasting menu and enjoyed every bite!
I highly recommend the venue, the food was phenomenal. The service was second to none, friendly, professional, and welcoming. The Pani puri was crisp, flavorful, moorish, and playful. The national street food of India The spicy Calamari was crispy with a lovely dip. The Paroka was moist and enjoyable. The Chicken Malai Tikka was tender, moist, and scrumptious. The Lamb Rogan Josh was the best I have ever had. Cooked to perfection and seasoned superbly. Everyone had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed their meal.
Best Indian restaurant in Glasgow. Everything about this place is fantastic. Food, service, ambience, decor. Wouldn't go anywhere else now for Indian food!
Very nice ambiance, very helpful, efficient and friendly staff. Food was exceptional. We enjoyed, Paani Puri (unique presentation), Goan Fish Curry and Kofta. All really well done and presented.
Pleasantly satisfying experience. Highly recommended 🥂
Excellent food. Efficient staff. Dishes quite generous so be careful not to over order.
This restaurant is awesome! My partner and I love it here. Such a classy place. You are made to feel so welcome. The waiting staff are so knowledgeable and friendly.
Glasgow sure knows how to do a curry properly, and this place is right on the money. A little pricier than some curry places but it’s totally worth it - very flavoursome, not too oily and good portions. The chicken bhoona garam masala is lovely, and cool surroundings too.
I'm not sure how they can charge what they do for the service and food they provide. It's just wrong. Allow me to clarify. Despite arriving a good forty minutes early and being one guest down, we were warmly welcomed and sat at our table immediately. Service is spectacular, and provides some insight into how a well run operation must function. The food is divine. Easily the best curry we've had... ever! Highlights - Bel Phoori, Tarka Daal, Trio of Chicken Tikka. Fantastic place with staff that easily match the excellence of the food. A rare combination of value and genuine brilliance. Would not have been the least bit surprised if it had cost twice the price. Well done!
Very reliable Indian restaurant, good service, great range of Food. Will make dishes to your taste. They have a well stocked and wide ranging bar. Overall, it never fails to be an enjoyable experience.
Had dinner here with a friend on Saturday night. Never had a reservation but they accommodated us. Had the tandoori salmon to start which was great. The curry for the main was also great, would return for another meal.
I think food and service in restaurant is excellent. The only thing I found was that there were a lot of dishes on menu with names I'd never heard of. I tend to order same dishes when I have a curry. I like biryani made with chicken so perhaps I need to study menu before my next visit.
One of, if not the best curry on Glasgow. Fresh and exquisitely cooked with a wide variety of different styles meats and vegetarian options. Eating in is a pleasure and they do collections too. Pricing is average but the food you get is above and beyond. Please don't ever change because you're doing a great thing balbirs! Can't recommend enough!
Nice, cosy and romantic place to have drinks and food. They should maximize the portion and quality a bit and it will be fantastic place. If restaurant can do that I would say it's amazing, would take all of my friends only to that place.
We have had take from you about 4 times in recent weeks and in every respect they have fantastic. I have had the same dish (Ginger Lamb Boona) on each occasion and congratulations are due to your butcher, chef and whoever selected the packaging which is top class! Look forward to my next meal - 😋
We had one of the set menus. Thoroughly enjoyed the variety of food. Much of it not your typical Indian food found in a UK restaurant. Very attentive staff with unusual attention to detail which was very much appreciated. I will definitely be back.
Wonderful service and fantastic Indian food, highly recommend. Classy place offering great value. You can also have half portions for Ha the price e.g. c£6-£8 allow you to experience twice as many truely wonderful curries. The aubergine was delicious as was the mushroom and paneer dishes
The service was the best we've had the entire time that we've been in Scotland. Staff were very knowledgeable about each dish and have some great recommendations that weren't just the most expensive ones. And my word was it cheap! Would definitely recommend.
We had the most wonderful time in Balbir's tonight. The food was delicious and the whole restaurant was impeccably presented. The staff were so friendly and caring and we felt extremely well looked after. We'd like to extend a special thanks to Neki who really made our night. His recommendations were perfect, from the wine to the starters and he made us smile and laugh throughout the evening. Thank you Bilbirs for a very special evening :)
The wife and I had a wonderful meal this evening. The food was top notch and full of big flavours, staff's attention to detail rounded the evening off nicely. Well done all. Till next time.
Incredible cuisine, amazing service and beautiful ambience! We are from Australia and have spent 3 weeks travelling throughout England and Scotland and this was our best dining experience to date. This is saying something as we have had some incredible dining experiences around these Countries! A must do if you are in Glasgow!!!
Fantastic food, fantastic service, and reasonable prices! This is one of my favourite curry houses in Glasgow - if not my favourite. They have a "street food" menu as well as an a la carte menu, for something a bit smaller or just different. The staff is always fantastic, the food is always good - no wonder it's hard to get a table!
Popped in on a Sunday with my mate for a curry before a gig. The service was great. Food was very tasty and top quality. Portion size was just right. We had a pakora starter which we shared 2 curries 1 rice and a pashwari nan. I'd say the highlight was the lamb pasanda. We both thought it was the best we'd tried. Had a pint each. Was £25 each before we gave a tip.
Relaxed dining with nice ambience, attentive staff and excellent food. Of particular note is the tandoori salmon, which is accompanied by home-made chutneys. We've never been disappointed here, and it's now a first-choice for any family occasions.
Probably the best Indian restuarant I've ever been to. Everything from the moment you walk into this place is first class. As a group of 10 our waiter suggested the banquet. He spent time finding out a bit about why type of Indian food every one liked. He spent approx 20 mins with us, during this period some starters stared to arrive whilst he was finalising the order for the banquet. They got it spot on. There was something for everyone and it was all made to perfection. Would recommend this place to anyone who's really enjoys Indian cuisine. They really go above and beyond to provide the best food and service possible.
Food is amazing. Staff are super friendly. I wholeheartedly recommend the set menus. I have eaten here many times over the years and the new menus are great for having a variety of amazing flavours.
Our favourite Indian in Glasgow and there's plenty to choose from. Food and flavours are great, service is always excellent. Staff have stayed for years so they are great at recommending options based on flavours you like. Gluten free friendly too. Nicky and his team always make your visit unforgettable.
Great place.. Excellent food.. The menus is varied with the opportunity to try many different dishes through banquets and set menus.. Staff will chat with you and make suggestions to fit your tastes. Curries are tasty and use spices really well. Good selection of decent wines. Atmosphere is cheerful and friendly but has sophistication. Staff are attentive and thoughtful. Probably the best Indian restaurant I've visited.
Very highly recommended. The best Indian restaurant I've ever been to. The staff were all super knowledgeable and friendly, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the food was insanely good. They had a good selection of whisky to top it all off too.
The food is very good. I've been here a few times now and I recommend it to everyone. The staff were very happy to deal with the complicated dietary requirements that our table requested and their service was excellent. We met the owner on our last visit and you can see that he treats his staff well which is reflected in the service.
Wonderful dinner here on Saturday 21st of October. We ordered the banquet menu leaving it up to the chefs to surprise and delight us which they most certainly achieved. The food was excellent, the waiting staff friendly and very professional the service was impeccable. Thank you everyone at Balbirs for making our visit exceptional. Will certainly highly recommend and look forward to the next visit.
Amazing, simply the best Indian in Scotland! Restaurant is spacious, food is great quality, very light and healthy. An impressive wine collection, with good recommendations. Was impressed at the quality of the Vegetarian dishes, good selection everyone enjoyed it. Would highly recommend the Lamb Fillet, cooked to perfection.
Simply the best Indian restaurant I've ever been to. The food was amazing, so fresh and tasty. The staff were very helpful explaining our choice of meals. Unfortunately we live outside London so won't be able to visit regularly but will definitely look this restaurant up when we go back to Glasgow ( we understand they will be moving soon but we will find you!) Thankyou for a fabulous restaurant experience and good luck at your new location 😀
What a great night to be had in this lovely restaurant. The staff are very attentive. Social distancing and mask wearing in place. Staff cleaning constantly, very popular but food is top class and staff are very friendly. Great way to start off your night all on one level good wheelchair access . The staff are also very accommodating. Check it out you won't be disappointed.
As always, the food was delicious, the ambience was cozy and the service was superb! I call this my 'kitchen' as I dine here often. I'm never disappointed. I took a friend with me today and she too was impressed and satisfied. The price was very affordable for authentic Indian cuisine. I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a fine Indian restaurant.
Excellent restaurant, meal was brilliant and fresh-best chicken dishes I've had in a long time, even managed an Indian sweet. Really lovely place, would highly recommend it to all. The history was explained by the manager and this added to the experience. Many thanks to all the staff and management.
Fine food eaten in fine surroundings served by pleasant staff would recommend.
First time at spice route 77 and to be perfectly honest, Indian food is not my thing. I can't complain about the food though, I tried most of the dishes I ordered but I just cant handle the spices and heat! The dishes without much heat were tasty. The staff were all lovely and helpful. This is a place you must try if you like Indian.
Delicious, delicious food. If you love Indian food then hunt out this gem of a restaurant. It's a bit off the beaten track, right at the bottom of Byers Road but it's well worth it. Nice modern decor, lovely staff and some of the best Indian food I've eaten. The chicken tikka karahi is off the charts! The rice was dry and under seasoned, for my taste but otherwise the food was top notch.
Average for the price. Our waitress was grumpy also for some reason. Food was good but not any better than other Indian restaurants in Glasgow. Can't recommend.
After been meaning to try here for a while finally got round to it. Interior is very nice and feels more ‘up market’, sadly can’t say the same about the food. Despite paying much higher prices than other Indians around the west end the food didn’t match up and was just average. Not to mention quantity of food and sauce for the price was also poor
Good experience overall. Place looked fantastic, staff were welcoming. Tried a little bit of a few different dishes which were pretty nice however curry was too westernised for my liking. Will go again though and try a different curry but will definitely ask for it to made desi style (traditional)
The staff were very helpful and patient dealing with so many dietary requirements. The building was beautiful, the upstairs toilets were lovely and there were lots of casual seating areas with big couches dotted around. The food was ok, nothing special and I found it expensive compared to what I'd pay in Merseyside. I suppose I was paying for the ambience, location, staff (which was excellent) and it's city prices.
Staff were all lovely, but sadly felt our curries were not the best we have had! Sauce was basic not rich and seemed like they do not use fresh herbs etc. However their pakora was delicious! The garlic bread was not very garlicky and warm not piping hot. Disappointingly if you use less than your gift Voucher they do not give you another voucher to remaining value, or even cash, I felt this was very poor taste as it was a birthday gift from our daughter whom had paid the full value. I understand no cash but the offer of a voucher for remaining sum would be fair even to buy take away pakora at a future date.
It was okay. Expensive for what it is. Better Indian places in Glasgow. Though the No. 65 chicken was brilliant!
We booked this place for a family meal. Unfortunately, whilst the atmosphere was excellent, the food and the service were substandard. The food is geared towards westerners and not to the level one would expect in a traditional Indian restaurant. Sorry but this night was very important for me and this place did not do justice to the food. The service could do with some form of synchronising. We were a table of 10 and the food came out of the kitchen in dribs and drabs over 25 minutes. Some had finished eating whilst others were still waiting for the food. This was not acceptable despite pointing this out politely to the management.
We ordered 2 chicken butter masala, from the menu. When the waiter arrived with our meal he said 2 chicken chasni, We said no butter masala he said oh yeah iv seen so many currys tonight they all look the same. The menu we ordered from was picture 1, it never mentioned it was hot. Picture 3 taken from there Facebook menu 2017 says the Chicken butter masala (1/2 Hot) So please bear in mind when you order. The Garlic nan bread was tasteless. Also when we arrived there was a bike parked right outside the main door, when walking in the entrance we could only just get into the restaurant as 2 delivery guys were standing with their bags taken up most of the floor space.
Myself and a few friends tried to eat here on Saturday night around 8pm. We did. It have a booking so enquired about a table for 4 people. The main room of the restaurant was almost full, but we noted as we walked by the second room was set up for guests and basically empty - with around 10/15 free tables. We were advised that the restaurant was full and we would have to come back later. I enquired as to what time, and was told there would be around a 1.5hr wait for a table. We decided to go elsewhere. What a disappointment, and what an embarrassment. My friends and I are all heavily tattooed, but just wanted to have a nice meal together as we had not seen each other in a good few months. We were not being loud, brash, obnoxious or any other possible reason to be denied a table . I can't help but think we have been judged, literally, by the colours of our skin.
Food is like worse in quality , oil which he has used is really of cheap quality. I have a stomach upset. Never recommend this restaurant to any one. Vegetables are not at all fresh most of them are frozen and sauces used were really of low quality. Spoiled my holiday entirely.
