Kizuna Sushi Bistro

We judged this book by its cover and did not realize how quaint, welcoming, and quality the experience would be. The menu is limited but outstanding. The setting is intimate. The wait staff is accommodating, knows everything on the menu and was able to make great recommendations. Just expecting a typical sushi experiencece, we were blown away! Will definitely come back.

My wife and I were looking for a “NEW” all you can eat sushi spot for my birthday dinner and we called Kizuna on a Google search Enrique picked up and told us unfortunately they did not…but recommended that they serve some unique sushi rolls and we should check them out sometime, then ended the call saying “chow” We got some good vibes over the phone and said…let’s go check it out tonight Glad we did because it was on point! Let the pics show proof that these rolls are fantastic and uber fresh/different from your normal run of the mill sushi spot We ordered the edamame, miso soup and 4 rolls (their menu does change so as of this publication here is what we had and in the order of my favorites) Win 🥇 Black Monster 👹 🍱 Place 🥈 Dynamite 🧨 Show. 🥉 Picasso & Garlic 🧄 Salmon 🍣 And to top it off Enrique was a fan of the show “The Office” so we had some laughs and recited some lines from episodes. They did not have a Gabagool Roll 😂

I was in town for a quick weekend and found this sushi spot. I cannot say enough good things about it! The food was fantastic and was beautifully presented. The service was excellent and the staff made me feel like a “regular” right away! Try this place…you will NOT be disappointed!

This was our first time coming into Kizuna, and I’m not gonna lie, I was a little skeptical when it said sushi fusion, let me tell you, it’s definitely worth it!! Very very good service, and even better sushi!!! We enjoyed the Mafia roll so much we ordered a second roll!!! Will be recommending this place and we’ll be coming back for sure!!!

We had a great meal here. Creative and delicious sushi. The spicy miso soup was very good and staff very polite and professional.

Dined in today! Such a delight to be remembered by caring and knowledgeable people. I have complex allergies / food restrictions and they made a fantastic poke salad with many veggies and avocado. Fish quality is great and melts in your mouth!

I wish my birthday cake could be made out of the Black Monster roll! Also good are the Dynamite roll and the Seaweed Salad. I try to leave at least one pro and one con for each review, but the only thing I could say is the chair cushions could be softer.

Excellent choice for sushi :) Gino was of great help , We have had the zesty islander and the tataki roll with sashimi Everything was just excellent Oh and the spicy miso was great :)

Kizuna sushi bistro is our all-time favorite sushi place. Chef Cesar is not only a remarkable chef, he is an amazing artist. His sushi is a feast for your senses. My favorite is the ORCHARD specialty roll. Sooooo good! He has many vegetarian options on the menu, for which I am very thankful.

Amazing. This place is the real deal. In a suburb full of mediocre sushi restaurants, this place stands out. Adding some photos...

Don't be scared by the low amount of reviews or it's quaint size... This place is everything you'd ever want in Japanese Quizine! The chef creates flavors way beyond your everyday suburban sushi place... This is by far one of the best sushis I've had ever. They're only about 6 months so you will not be disappointed with the zest and artisanal creations of the chef.

Fantastic. Our server Enrique was excellent. Recommended the dragon roll with black rice. Loved it. Great experience and food. (Vegetarian Mango Chili roll on foreground)

We love getting sushi from Kizuna. The seaweed salad is delicious, they have a variety of special rolls that are creative and very yummy. Definitely try a roll with black rice.

Recently lucky enough to discover Kizuna. The food and service are outstanding. Here are some recommendations - Spicy Garlic Edamame, Yellowtail Jalepeno, and the See Eel sushi. I also strongly suggest the Karma roll. Looking forward to heading back soon.

Amazing! The shashmi and specialty rolls were amazing. I tried the Medusa roll and it exceeding my expectations! The spicy miso was delicious! We did take out but I can’t wait to dine in! The space looks wonderful! Picture of the Medusa roll! Can’t wait to eat from here again!

Ordered sushi, edamame, and seaweed salad for dinner and everything was delicious! I loved all the unique sauces the sushi came with and really complemented each roll.

Have passed this establishment many times and finally made the move to go in and try it. Cute local spot in Lombard for sushi. Innovative rolls that did not disappoint, excellent waitstaff and awesome ambiance. Definitely go in and try this place, it won’t disappoint!

The waiter said "lake michigan on the rocks" and it took me until he left to realize he meant my ice water. Music was bumping. Which matters the most when you go out to eat alone, but it wasn't so loud I couldn't think or enjoy my food. THE MORE EXPENSIVE FOOD IS NOT WORTH IT. DO NOT BUY Good $7 rolls. Good $16 rolls. Good salad, food, decor, and service.

After driving past this restaurant for the past couple of years my daughter asked if we could finally go. It made her night. Our server Gino was very welcoming and helpful. My daughter's go to dish is salmon sashimi and she was amazed by the quality. Gino recommended the chefs special and I told myself why not. I don't remember exactly what it was, but it had fatty tuna that was almost buttery in texture that it melted in your mouth and did not disappoint. I'm so happy we decided to drop in tonight. We will definitely be going back soon.

I love Kizuna. The place is very cute, spotlessly clean. Menu is varied, the omnivores in my family say the fish is very fresh and high quality. They take gluten free seriously, my celiac kid has never gotten sick eating here. For myself, I love that they have thoughtful, interesting vegetarian rolls. 5 stars for everything everyone should go check it out

Great sushi rolls. Excellent service. Very pleasant atmosphere. We tried many many rolls and liked them all. Favorite was Turtle, Monster, Salmon Mania and the dumplings. The sassy but VERY helpful service was great! Love. Will be back.

The best sushi in the area. Moved back home awhile ago, have been trying different places for sushi. This one is the winner. Really good, tasty, etc. The rolls are so nice, I didn't even have pieces of rice in my soy sauce to pick out and snack on. This place is amazing!

We love Kizuna sushi! It is a splurge, but the price is warranted, given the quality of the food. The fish lovers in my family have enjoyed every item they have tried. Also, Kizuna has the most creative and delicious vegetarian rolls of any sushi place I have been to.

The appetizers, the advance options and the signature rolls were all just amazing. Presentation was great too. River beast roll was very different and melted in the mouth. The Caterpillar roll felt like a soothing hug. Overall our experience at this restaurant was just outstanding.

Absolutely delicious, this sushi really exceeded my expectations! Ordered online for pickup and got a California roll, Spider roll, and the Crabby Crab roll. They were all so good but I think the Spider roll was my favorite! The tempura crab was so crunchy, the vegetables tasted fresh, and the California rolls were packed heavily with the crab mix. We will definitely be coming back here soon!

Hands down some of the best sushi in Chicago. ( actually the entire country). I’ve traveled the world and have not had better quality fish. The Toro is to die for… I know…. Crazy for this understated cozy little place. Go for the creative rolls vs the white linen tablecloth tables. You should go now before you’ll have to wait months for a table.

Great little place for Lombard. Very small space but they have a bar area and outside seating. They were extremely busy and unfortunately forgot a couple of our ordered items but they were absolutely courteous and apologetic. The appetizer Spicy Garlic Edamame is a must try. Sushi selections are delicious at average cost.

Good sushi, nice staff, wish the ventilation was better. I was left smelling kind of deep fried.

Edit: we decided to give this another shot and it was much better. Some unique interesting things on them menu and it was very tasty the second time. But I'm a little worried about consistency. Previous review: Interesting rolls on the menu attracted me to this place, but unfortunately it failed to deliver. fish was decent quality, and some interesting condiments could have made this a staple. But the rice was the worst I've ever had in sushi. Worse that gas station sushi. Tasted like it was day old fridge white rice. Crunchy undercooked texture. On top of that, their knife quality control was quite bad. I had two rolls where it wasn't sliced all the way through leading to pieces falling apart when we tried to eat them. Also almost none of the pieces were remotely evenly sized with some pieces being half the width of others. We ordered 6 rolls so this was an expensive mistake to make. This included one made with black rice which still had texture issues.

This place was cute. Our service wasn't the best. We had to ask several times for our sushi and drink refills. The food was very good, but overpriced, in my opinion. The drink options were great. I do believe they felt bad about the service because they brought out a free dessert. That was a nice touch. I would come again, but make sure I was prepared for the cost this time

I’ve been here a couple times. First time the food was excellent. Second time the food was like meh. I took the average so it’s about a 3. Service both times were poor and very slow. It wasn’t busy during both times I went (dinner time). Prices are expensive for the lack of consistent quality. Hard to find a decent sushi place in the area, you’re better off taking a trip to Arlington Heights Miso soup 3.5/5 Caterpillar roll 3/5 Garlic salmon 5/5 Black monster 4/5 Exotic bomba 5/5 Nigiri 4/5 Ocean vinaigrette 3/5 River beast 3/5 Dragon roll 3/5

The food tasted good but the spider roll barely had any crab in it at all. The California rolls were miniature rolls, which caught me by suprise. I would have gotten 3. The edamame had good flavor but was SWIMMING in oil.

Very Lackluster experience. I sat at the bar for at least 15 min after being seated before even my drink order was taken. It was another 10 min before my food order was taken. And once my food was dropped off, the server neck er stopped by again except to drop off my check. The food was meh at best. I did the crispy tuna app and then a bunch of sushi. No rolls. No pickled wasabi, which surprised me. With all of the other options nearby, I'd recommend trying somewhere else.

I hate to leave a low review, but felt I needed to since I went out of my way to order from here with their high regards and was very dissapointed. To start, my delivery was fast but came without soy sauce (specifically requested) and chopsticks, which was pretty disappointing for takeout sushi and left my rolls without that very important element. I got the spicy miso, dragon roll, river beast roll, and bread pudding. The spicy miso was delicious. Unfortunately, the other items were not as amazing. The dragon roll (always my go to) had shrimp tempura that was unfortunately not at all crunchy despite arriving very fast (within 30 mins of placing order). The river beast roll had potential, but the white fish inside was overwhelmingly fishy. The bread pudding was alright, but not my favorite. My order was ~$50 before delivery ($65 with delivery) - given the price, I was hoping for a great meal but instead felt dissapointed.
