Opinions de Frisella's Roastery Glendora
1'st time back after pandemic and it was as great as I remembered. The food was excellent. The brisket is to die for. Our favorite waiter Henry was still there. Try it out you won't regret it.
Great place to have lunch or dinner and drinks, especially when spending some time in downtown Glendora. I highly recommend the fish n chips!! My wife and I go here at least once every 2 months, and then get ice cream across the street!
What more can I say? One of the best places we ate at while visiting Pasadena and the surrounding area. Glendora is well worth the visit and Frisella’s Roastery is right in the middle of it! Great eats, great service and a really cool atmosphere only made better by both!! Cudos to the staff and cooks!! Win win!!
I have been coming to Frisella's for years, and they never disappoint! The food is always delicious. They do great BBQ, fish and chips, and homemade potato chips. Outdoor seating is a perk as well. Located in downtown Glendora, so lots of cute shops nearby as well.
Pricey for a lunch stop, but pretty good food. Breads are fresh and meats are well selected cuts. Quick and easy if you are doing a midweek lunch. Small in size, but larger groups can be accommodated. Alcohol is served here. Cheers!
Headed to downtown Glendora area for sushi. The smell of this place wafting into the street stopped me and my date in our tracks! Full bar and amazing BBQ chicken, ribs and brisket! GIANT SIZED BURGERS! Huge pile of house made waffle cut fries. We got an appetizer of GIANT SIZED cheese sticks, the best I've had in years! Lots of places do "the big portion thing", this place does it right with delicious homemade recipes! Do yourself favor and give this place a try, you won't leave hungry! Great staff hustle to accommodate tons of outdoor seating, don't forget tip them well, they're working hard!
Great BBQ place at an unlikely location. The tortilla chips with salsa were freshly made and so crunchy and tasty. The Ceasar Salad was great, and my husband and I shared a Specialty Combo Plate of chicken, ribs and brisket (I think originally meant for one person) and even so we couldn’t finish it so be warned, the combo plates are pretty generous. The BBQ beans were especially good, the cole slaw was good, the corn was OK. Service was fast and our waiter was friendly. We were hiking in the area from LA and it was a welcomed find off-the-beaten path.
We love this quaint downtown place. The food is always great, the portions are generous and the servers are kind warm-hearted people. It's a perfect place to go for homemade comfort food and a good cocktail. 😊 This is my daughter's favorite place to go for ribs.
My wife and I split the homemade chips and pico. The pico was really good but the seasoning on chips were next level!! We also split the brisket plate and that was good as well but not as tender as I usually like mine. More like a sliced tri-tip in it's texture. It was good but not great. The reason I give five stars instead of 4 is because the service was outstanding. The host was kind and accommodating and are waitress was the best. Even though it was dinner time and very busy she was very attentive and kind. We will definitely return!!!
My girlfriend and I frequent Frisellas every now and again but I do believe after yesterday's experience we will make an effort to become regulars. We started with the fried shrimp appetizer which was very good. (and on happy hour) Rum and coke was enjoyed by my fair lady and I imbibed in the voodoo ranger Ipa. From there we went on to our main courses, the Olympic burger for my girlfriend and the fish n chips for myself. My girlfriend's order initially was delivered incorrect as she wanted the gorgonzola cheese on the side which it was but they still put it on the burger anyway. Our server made quick work of the mistake and took our burger back so it could be prepared correctly. My fish n chips were frankly delicious I also don't know what seasoning they use on the fries but they were also spot on. The Olympic burger was also well concocted. However I do believe my go too will be the fish n chips as I can't understate how delicious they were. Also It is also worth noting that upon receiving the check I noticed our server didn't charge me for one of the Ipa's I ordered. I assume as a way of apology for the botched initial burger order. Frisella's Roastery has earned itself a couple of new soon to be regular patrons.
Food was excellent and it was priced reasonably. They have their happy hour from 2-5 and all the drinks on that menu are only $5 which is really nice. Definitely not the place to go if you're looking to watch a game but really cool place if you wanna have some dinner and a drink. I'll definitely be back, I loved this place
Excellent service nice atmosphere. Outdoor seating is nice and they have heaters for those chilly night. Nice location in downtown Glendora. Food is solid not the best Italian food ever but its very good and the prices very reasonable.
I’ve been coming to Frisella’s since I was a kid. My sister and I used to save our change so that we could come and order a tri-tip dinner. The food is just as good as I remember it being. Frisella’s is consistently spectacular and reasonably priced. Their house made bbq sauce is divine. The extra crunchy fries are so good (even reheated at home), and the variety of options (taco bowl anyone?) ensures you will never leave unsatisfied.
Located in "The Village" of downtown Glendora. Calm atmosphere, outdoor dining, not a whole lot of auto traffic, kid friendly.....Now the food. House made potato chips, yes please! Pulled bbq pork on atrisan bread....excellent. Choice of salads as well, mixed greens, ceasar etc. Beer? Yes'um. Several small craft choices and yeah...the usual light stuff too.
I've only had breakfast here. The butter pecan waffles are amazing. The French toast is great, but very filling! They are a slow paced relaxed atmosphere. Good for a day off treat.
I've been here for breakfast, lunch, dinner and brunch... The food never disappoints! It's the place I bring friends when I'm not sure of their favorite foods! Lots of yummy choices. Portions are generous, BBQ items are fantastic and ingredients are always fresh!!
Friendly staff, food and entertainment is outstanding.
Love their BBQ pork Sandwich and Salad. Nichol is so sweet she brings me food on occasions. She is the best and so is the food. Always good service and food. Compliments to the Chef. Love the purple cabbage salad reminds me of Northwoods Inn. Thanks for the yummy Cookie.
I ordered the chicken and rib combo with corn and coleslaw. It was excellent. Love their food. Everything on the menu is great. Never disappointed. My white wine spritzer and Margarita were also excellent. I've been to this restaurant over 30 times. Always come here when I visit my mom.
It was a great American eatery. Fun dining, wonderful service and a family vibe.
Went here for the 1st time with my sister. The hostess maybe even the owner greeted us. She even recommend food choices. She was so honest about how big the portions are and recommended us splitting a plate. I loved how she didn't try to just get more money out of us. love the atmosphere and the live band. The food was fantastic! I will definitely be back.
The aroma of the meat can be smelled from blocks away and your just drawn in. The service was exceptional. The server was quick to get us drinks. He was attentive but didn't linger. Given, it was not a busy day but they had plenty of hands on deck to help anyone. The food was amazing.
Food was delicious and the service was awesome.
Old review:Awesome Food , Awesome Service, great ambiance. The Brisket is some of the best around. New Review: The place was understaffed, they couldn't keep up with basic soft drink orders. My food arrived lukewarm and a unsatisfying portion. At the end of the meal they trotted out a comment card, which I refused to fill out. If your handing out comment cards, I assume you know what wrong with your product and service. That was sadly the last meal I will ever have there. This place is a stain on downtown Glendora.
Updating my review from 2 stars to 5 stars. I came and gave it another chance two more times and both times were great. The food was great and the service was great. Keep up the good work.
Stopped in for a few curbside cocktails. We had just finished dinner. Peeps next to use had rack of ribs. Huge portions easily shared smelled and looked wonderful. We did get talked into cheese stick and homemade potato chips... Wait did I mention the homemade chips🤯...so good. Great service... Nice to get out during covid-19...felt safe... restrooms super clean.. great job Frisella's
Loved it. Ordered the batter fried zucchini which were very good. The batter was crunchy and the zucchini perfectly cooked. For an entree I got the chicken, brisket and rib and all were perfectly cooked. The chicken which was white meat was moist and the ribs were falling off the bone. Dinner roll was super soft and fresh. Sides were bbq beans and red cabbage. Both tasty. Server was nice and dinner came quickly but it wasn't very crowded on a rainy Monday evening. Definitely will be back.
I love the food and atmosphere at frisellas. The waitress serving me was a sweetheart and the service was speedy. Their food is also incredible! I got the fried green beans and the wings(which are huge and are only an appetizer). Also tasted their Western burger and let me tell you - this place is delicious. Would recommend to anyone.
Great food, employees all have great attitudes, cool old school downtown vibes. Only downside is the parking situation but that's normal with these type of locations. Highly recommend and if you like burgers the Western Bacon Cheeseburger is a MUST 🔥🔥🔥
Enjoyed the Smoked Angus Tri Tip Salad with blue cheese dressing. Experienced excellent customer service. Very quaint and quiet dining experienced. Will definitely return again as it was our first time.
I know my user name is a bit ridiculous, but this is my first time around Glendora and many people recommended this restaurant called Frisella’s. I was immediately meet by kind servers and helpers. The impression of the furniture really reminded me of the old timey type days. I sat down and I can definitely tell that the owner put a lot of effort into the menus, but anyway I ordered an Olympic burger and fries and WOW did they impress. The burger was massive and definitely tasty and the fries were crispy and salted well. The servers there were exponentially nice. This is definitely a restaurant that local tourists should try. Will definitely come back!
Nice place in the heart of Glendora. Excellent staff and service. Really enjoyed my lunch.
I’ve been coming here for years and so far everything I’ve ordered on the menu has been delicious. They have a big smoker in the back for their BBQ and you can smell it as you drive by. They have a variety of options from chicken, ribs, burgers, sandwiches, soups and a ton of sides. They have outdoor seating which is a plus when you have socal weather and a good drink menu with happy hour. Their service is also great. Your greeted right as you walk in, attentive servers and Food comes out in a timely manor. If you haven’t given this place a shot i recommend you take the leap and dive. You won’t be disappointed.
Food is great! Service is great! This restaurant is my favorite go-to.
My first time at Frisella's, I ordered a cheeseburger for takeout and when I walked in the vibe felt so cool I decided to eat it there. I got a chance to meet the owner and the rest of the staff was very nice. I ended up sitting at the bar to eat enjoying a voodoo ranger IPA on draft. I was watching a couple celebrating a birthday also seated at the bar who both ordered the fish and chips... I kind of wish I would have ordered that, it looked delicious and they were giving it amazing praise. I'll try that next time. There was plenty of parking in Old Town glendora on a monday evening. It was a nice little evening walk to and from the restaurant with the trees lit up beautifully for the holidays. I'll definitely be back soon.
A great meeting appt in downtown Glendora, and we love exploring the menu, but always return to the cilantro lime salad dressing. Look out for their live music nights too.
This place a gem in downtown Glendora! We went to dinner on a Friday evening around 6:30pm and the wait was only about 5 minutes. The food was delicious and the staff was so welcoming and friendly. Of course I forgot to snap a photo of my entree, Fish and Chips, but my husband got the Western Bacon Cheeseburger and it was delicious and picture worthy! Also, the serve ranch with their fries which is just an awesome choice! :)
Stop by here for a quick bite and drink......not even the slightest disappointed! The food was amazing to say the least! They have Claremomt Craft Ales on tap, which I HIGHLY recommend, I had the Tri tip dinner with Cole slaw and bbq baked beans which was amazing! Their bbq food was better than those multiple times I ventured to another bbq joint........can't remember the name exactly but it was kind of like Lucy's or some chain restaurant like that (wink wink). The question....would I ever come back?.....100% I would return again and again!
We love Frisella's Roastery. My family loves it and since it is down the street from my work, I order out often. My favorite is Steak Salad and if your a meat eater, their meat is cooked to perfection! If your a vegetarian, their salads are equally tastly! Here is a picture I took at night, as you can see there is lots of outside seating which I appreciate.
We are so happy to have Frisellas as a member of our amazing community. Their lunch and service is outstanding and we are so lucky to have them in Glendora!
Oh my gosh! This restaurant had some of the best barbecue I’ve had in a very long time. I’m not usually a barbecue fan, but my family loves it so we decided to go there for dinner on a Sunday. I got the tri-tip salad. I have never had tri-tip that flavorful and tender ever! So I highly recommend this place. Everything we ordered did not disappoint.
Several friends and I met at Frizella's to have a glass of wine, something to eat, and listen to the band. The servers were friendly and worked to make sure we had everything we wanted. We ordered a bottle of wine, which was served with a glass chiller which was filled with ice. The presentation was beautiful. The food was delious. The wine has a large list of choices, we easily found one that we would enjoy. Water, my drink of choice, was served with a slice of lemon. The server kept our water glasses full. What a fun night out with friends.
Delicious BBQ and great portion sizes. Enough for my husband and I to share. Would come back as it’s great food and service.
Great place for a hometown BBQ sit down or take out. We have been going here for years and the food is great and service fantastic. It is also located in a cute downtown area that is fun to walk around.
Excellent, gourmet-style dishes and superb service in a friendly environment. A bit pricey but everything is pricey since the end of the quarantine. Highly recommend this location.
From the moment we were seated, the experience felt smooth and enjoyable. The tri tip sandwich was packed with great flavor, the fish and chips were a hit with the kids, and the BBQ chicken salad was fresh and satisfying. Attentive service and well prepared meals made the entire visit feel just right.
Frisella’s is truly a gem in our community. The owner is absolutely amazing — so welcoming, family-oriented, and incredibly kind with my son every time we’re there. We recently hosted our Women of Business event, and she set everything up beautifully in a family-style layout that made the entire evening feel warm, connected, and effortless. The food is always delicious, the portions are generous, and the staff is attentive and friendly. Whether it’s a special event or a simple meal with family, Frisella’s never disappoints. So grateful to have them in Glendora!
One of my favorite restaurants. Everything on the menu is delicious. My faves are the Chicken tostada salad, the pulled pork sandwich, the fish & chips, and the roast chicken dinner. I love to eat outside. Frisella's is a Glendora classic.
My associate and I went here for lunch and had Josh as our server. The place was just opening, clean and organized. Josh did a great job servicing our table as we weren't in a hurry. We ordered a lot of food and almost ate it all. The food was prepared with care and was very large portions which were appreciated. When finished Josh wished us a great day and we took off fulfilled and happy. Thank you for having us, we will be back.
It's been a few years since we came here but we were driving through Glendora and decided to stop here for lunch. The service was very good and the food was delicious. I got the tri tip sandwich, my kids got the fish and chips and my wife got a salad with BBQ chicken. Everything was perfect and we will definitely go back the next time we are in town.
I had such a wonderful dining experience. A charming exterior with outdoor seating. Indoor dining area has several different seating options. Open and nicely decorated. A small bar that serves going drinks. Impressive menu with a lot of great selections. I had the fish and chips and they were wonderful. I look forward to going back and trying more food and drink. Staff was very friendly and helpful. There's street parking and free city lot parking.
DESERVING OF 10 STARS- WOW! This restaurant was just amazing! The decor is very inviting with one entire side in brick and they have hung up empty picture frames, completing a rustic look.( see photos) I ordered the 1/2 Turkey Sandwich and Vegetable Soup ( see photo). It was the best soup I have ever tasted. And the sandwich was also delicious. Serving sizes very large, so you get a lot for your money. There is both inside and outside seating available. This restaurant has their act together in every way. They do everything so well, including the little things like keeping your beverages filled at all times. It was very busy while I was there, and the servers handled it like champions. TRY THIS RESTAURANT! YOU WON'T REGRET IT
The only bad thing about this place is that they only serve breakfast on the weekends. Their food is amazing!! Their biscuits and gravy are the best I've ever had! I've been eating here for years and have never had a bad meal or bad service. All the waitresses and waiters are extremely friendly and do their best to ensure you have a wonderful experience.
I had Sunday brunch here. It was nice because I brought my pup song and we sat outside under the umbrella seating. Staff was nice and beverages were reasonably priced. If eat here again sometime she visiting friends or family.
Tried the sampler. I like that there were so many options, but I settled on pork products only. The spare ribs were the best and I'll probably limit future purchases to these only. Great draft beer value with plenty of outdoor seating. Friendly service.
My wife and I like this place and we will go a couple of times a month. I have tried most of the items on the menu but my absolute favorite is the fish and chips. Nothing against the BBQ, it’s just the fish and chips are so good and you get a very generous portion. My only complaint is (I’m aware this is silly) they have the Fat Tire beer priced as and under the import beer section. Fat Tire beer is from Colorado and is domestic.
Food is very tasty, large portions. The service was ok. The drinks menu does not mention cocktails/mixed drinks so we thought there was only beer and wine. The difference in size from one chicken salad to the other was interesting, and my wine glass was dripping (could've dried the glass).
nice cozy restaurant and bar. the food I've tasted has always been great. I' ve had the tri tip salad, and last visit I had a side salad and the homemade soup. it was great !.
Fish n chips excellent Tri tip salad with European salad mix excellent Waitress was a little overwhelmed A car show was going on so she was busy She said she was alone at the time so it took a while to get drinks and food. Before our food arrived, we saw several waitress. Hopefully she has a better day today. We left her a nice tip. Excellent food and a nice outdoor patio.
Meet friends for lunch today after tour of Rubel Castle in Glendora. Ordered tri tip sandwich with side salad. Everything was delicious. The tri tip was cooked perfect and very tender, The bbq sauce is smoky & sweet, yum 😋 asked for extra for left overs. Subbed salad for chips and a side, crispy and fresh lettuce, croutons tomatoes and carrots very good. Others ordered and enjoyed fish and chips lunch special, soup salad combo, bbq sliders. Everything was delicious. Highly recommend. Service was very good, there were 2 servers when we arrived, at check time just 1, slowed things down. Separate checks make our lives easier, thank you!
We enjoyed a wonderful outdoor evening dinner. Ambiance was lovely and the service was great! Our group had the brisket dinner and fish and chips. The brisket was perfectly cooked and the BBQ sauce was the absolute star of the dinner - perfect blend of sweet and tangy. The side dishes we had were the mashed potatoes with gravy, Mac-n-cheese, and green beans. The green beans were wonderful but the potatoes and Mac-n-cheese were under-seasoned wish was solved by adding our own salt and pepper. Both the gravy for the mashed potatoes and the sauce for the fish-n-chips were too thin for our liking but the overall dinner was great. We would definitely return for the brisket and sauce - it was truly delightful.
A bit of a rocky start, but service really picked up and food was very good. It was the first week of dine in and they still have outdoor seating so was confusing where to check in. I asked a passing waiter and he said we can take a seat, who we do. A few minutes later, I see another server asking others if they had checked in and would get them a table and looked our way. After a while I realize no one knows we sat ourselves, per instruction, so I went inside to talk to the waitress I saw attending to others. She might have been the hostess, but was also waiting tables so it was a bit confusing. Once I let her know what happened, she told me she would send out a waitress with menus. From that point on, I think things went much better service wise. As for the food, it was mostly delish and portions were huge! We ordered the House specialty Chicken, rib and brisket combo with chicken tortilla soup and red cabbage. We also ordered the mozzarella sticks. First off, they split our meal without letting us know and then they brought out the first tray. I commented how much food that was ad she pointed at the tray and said she would bring one more. I assumed it was an extra “plate” but found out it was another tray with my half of the food!!! Crazy. The mozzarella stick order was huge too! Delish too. Crisp on the outside and sheet goodness inside. The marinara dipping sauce was awesome too. As for the rest of the meal, chicken and ribs were on point with chicken as the standout of the entire meal. BBQ sauce a perfect compliment. The brisket was a little dry but had great flavors. Cabbage salad on point. Tortilla soup had promise. Was outside and cold, so the soup got cold very fast which didn’t help but it needed a kick of some kind. They don’t have salsa or tapatio (just tobacco), so we decided to pack it to go along with the ton of leftovers to enjoy later, which we did. Definitely worth another visit, but I do have to admit I did go for the hope of roast turkey with mashed potato’s and gravy, which was no longer on the menu. I guess I’ll wait until the menu gets back to normal or I crave that chicken.
We ordered the Managers Special- an awesome pulled BBQ pork sandwich with their amazing fries. This place is "seat yourself"- we got a couple funny looks when we were standing around waiting to be seated before someone pointed out we could sit anywhere. That lost 2 stars for me. It's been recently remodeled and was clean inside.
Frisella’s Roastery is a nice casual place, service is excellent, prices ok. Food, not so good. We had a combo plate of ribs, chicken and tri trip with a salad. The food was not very warm and the tri trip was dried. I only enjoyed the salad, the salad was very good..
New ownership. Sorry but we tried to eat near the windows. Flies were everywhere. We moved. Our waiter was great! I had the spare ribs, they were awesome! Sides were just ok. Bbq chicken salad was good. Tri tip was dry and should have been given to the dogs. I remember last time I came in I had the brisket. It was the same, dry ,old and not worthy of being on a dinner plate. Someone needs to keep an eye on the meats before they come out if you want return customers.
We like this restaurant very much. It's one of our favorites. As places are opening more and more some still haven't returned to normal. The menu here has been shortened. No turkey to make great tasting dinner plates and sandwiches. They are still attracting some loyalists. I miss the roast turkey. It was like having Thanksgiving whenever the mood struck. They say maybe in the Fall. The nice thing about Frisella's is it's good quality food and you don't leave hungry. Breakfast has been eliminated for the time being. But there are plenty of those in town. We prefer The Vault and Ed's Place. Frisella's is one of the best places to eat lunch or dinner. There's a bar as well.
Haven't been to Frisellas for over a year and was unhappy to see how the atmosphere had changed. Like most reviews had said the food is still good but the atmosphere was no longer comfortable to eat in with friends. It has now changed to somewhat of a noisy bar place to gather, drink, and listen to entertainment that is way too loud. It was not a place to enjoy talking with family and friends while enjoying a nice meal. No longer are you greeted when entering and taken to a table. You just need to find a place to sit before being greeted. Prices and the amount of food served was good but we most likely will not take the time to return with friends and family.
Food was amazing, but sadly the service was disappointing. The server gave me a broken copper cup that caused my Mule to leak through. Trying to get the attention of the server was a task itself. When i asked for a container for my left overs, they failed to bring me a lid. To be frank I’d like for the server to spend less time doing her Harley Quinn make up and instead focus her energy in providing better hospitality. Coming back is definitely something I’d have to think twice, again the food was amazingly delicious but the service could be improved.
Good Tri tip! Update, visited today for lunch and order calamari and got 15 pieces of 4big cut and all were small calamari for $12 which was a bit expensive and they add ranch dressing to make the container look full but very disappointed. I understand everything is expensive now but don't make it look too empty.
Tasteless Tritips, over priced meat. This Barbecue restauran is located in the historical old town of Glendora. The building itself is very unique with the red bricks and old wood floor. It is spacious inside with the view of the street through the open glass window. However, the Barbecue meats they serve were quite disappointing. For example, the Tritip beef was totally tasteless. Plus, they only gave me three small pieces of beef for a 37 dollars dish. Even though the ambience was good , but the meats were rather tasteless and over priced. I certainly will not come back to this restaurant again.
Every time I have been here has been a positive experience, however the other day my girlfriend and I were there and both got very sick after eating there. This is the first time it's happened. I am only leaving this review to let the staff know there may have been expired or cross contaminated food served to us.
We have been going to Friselas for over 15 years. Excellent food and service. It has been our traditional location to get meals to take home for Holidays and special occasions. I went in today to order our Mother's Day dinner and was caught by surprise by the menu change. Unfortunately, their prices have doubled. And the meal options have diminished considerably. I just stared at the menu for quite some time. Made the difficult decision to not make a purchase. I asked the staff when the changes were made. Was told within the last two months. I am writing this in May, 2024. As I was leaving I also noticed that it was not at all busy. Very unusual for a Friday afternoon at lunch. I truly hope that this establishment remains successful. Great food and wonderful staff. But with this significant price increase I do have concerns. To a certain point I get it. The cost of everything has increased. But to double the cost and limit the selections ? Seems a bit extreme. But I am not crunching the numbers. While they are now out of our price range for Family meals I am Truly pulling for them to be successful going forward. Class operation!
It’s was just ok for us. We ordered the Smoked chicken and ribs for two for $31 for lunch. Coleslaw was just ok, potato salad was good, ribs were good, but a bit dry. Chicken was good, but I had the breast, so a bit dry too. Service was average. If you had an itch for smoked meat, you could definitely get it scratched here.
Location: Good, Parking: Decent, Service: Okay, Senior menu: No, Outdoor Dining: Yes, Food for price paid: Decent, Overall: This was a first time try as it has been a bit since I have been able to review due to back pain. I did enjoy the Calamari, but I did not enjoy the sauce that came with it. Very bland. The tri - tip sandwich was pretty good. The ribs also were pretty good. Flies were a bit of a bother and the fact that I had to ask to get another drink was also a let down. I would like to come back to see if they can make some minor adjustments to enhance the experience. Until then 3 stars...
We heard that this place had good bar b q, so stopped in since we were in the area. The service left a lot to be desired. I asked for a drink menu and had decided on a beer. When the waiter finally came to take our food order, he whisked away the menus and didn’t allow me to indicate my beer order. Ok, so I’ll drink water. My chicken salad was very good…but the beef that my husband go was SO dry…we needed the water. Don’t think we’ll be coming back here again.
We liked it... didn't love it... the server was really nice .. and the place is nice inside. The food was ok... but not great. We had some appetizers, chips and onion rings., they tasted ok.. but very greasy... big portions though. The salad was good... and we might try ot3 again.... it might have been a bad day... but I do know it was very greasy food.
On what planet is happy hour only .50 off for beer?! Also, I have never had bad fried zucchini. I mean, that's a crazy easy dish to make right? Wrong! My fried zucchini had sooo much water in them, they were absolutely inedible! I do not reccomend this place, despite their awesome location.
This USE TO BE a favorite of mine to go to but after today l was deeply disappointed. I purchased a Rib Eye Steak medium rare and they brought it out and it was medium well. It was as good as a steak at Dennys and not very savory or tasty. The mash potatoes were barely warm and the tiny piece of bread was stale. The wedge salad was ok. They offered to take it back and make another one but l was so hungry and they took Forever in making it with hardly any customers there l declined so they gave me a measly 10% discount off my order. My mom's ribs were Tough and dry. Baked beans were good but the mashed potatoes were also barely warm and a piece of stale bread. My friend's Kale salad which was 13.00 looked like something out of a bag. The only things going for this place was our nice server and the music. I will NEVER go back again sad to say.
My first visit to this place. I ordered the Tri Tip dinner. The meat was tough. The sides (corn and potatoes) looked and tasted like school cafeteria food. I wold not recommend this place.
We went for brunch. For the price, the food was mediocre. The service was painfully slow. They only had one server and nobody helping him. Maybe we just picked a bad time, but we were highly unsatisfied after dropping $150 for four plates. Also, the bathroom floors were sticky. Poor presentation. The street seating, however is pleasant during good weather.
Things are tough all the way around. But when a customer asks a nice question about how long it may take to get food after ordering, the first part of the response "it could be 20 minutes" is totally fine. Except you had to add "but I am not carrying my crystal ball" which makes the response unnecessarily sarcastic. Too bad. The ratings are decent but it isn't like your food is $22 per person after tax and tip minimum.
No reply from Frisella's - Just makes me sad..... Our family has enjoyed Frisella's for many years. Unfortunately, our last few visits have been so disappointing that we will not be returning. The lack of service throughout the entire experience was unacceptable. Once seated we waited and waited and waited until one member of our party finally got up, went to the back, and inquired if we even had a server. From the rest of the experience, it became obvious that there was NO one who had been assigned to wait on our table. Three different times someone had to leave our table to ask for drink refills, items that were missing from our order, ask for assistance, ask for a check and finally pay. We watched other parties come and go (apparently they had been assigned a server?) and still we waited. There were never any apologies, only excuses. One of the best lines was when our daughter went to track down the individual who had taken our order. His response was, "ummmmm, where are you sitting?" Obviously, he had no idea we were even there! The "service" was inexcusable, the food was mediocre, and the attitude was offensive. We were treated like an annoyance rather than patrons of the establishment. Sadly we will not be back. How unfortunate that Frisella's has become a place we will not return to.
A family member gave us a gift card to use . After the meal was finished, they told us it was no longer valid, they switch systems and no longer take this card. NOTE: this is the second time in the last few years this happened. Not only is this terrible business, I also believe it is illegal. Either way, lost customers and friends forever, even though the food is good.
NEVER AGAIN!!! We had been loyal customers for several years, even through COVID. But since the ownership changed a few years ago, the quality of the food has been inconsistent and the service spotty, depending on the server. Tonight we, a party of 6, arrived at 4:20 pm before the dinner rush. Noah greeted us at our table and took our drink orders, then brought our drinks and took our food order. That was the last we saw of Noah, or any server, at our table for at least 45 minutes, never receiving our food or any drink refills. In the meantime, other guests were arriving, ordering and receiving their food. We finally got Noah's attention and asked him when our food was coming. He said they were really busy, part of the order was ready and he wasn't sure when the rest would be ready. We asked to speak to the manager or owner and he stated that he was the acting manager. We asked him how he would feel if we left the restaurant. He replied that he wouldn't like it but he couldn't do anything to stop us, then he walked away again to service other tables. We waited a few more minutes then got up and left the restaurant and had a wonderful meal down the street. Wouldn't a good manager be apologetic and go to the kitchen and push things along? This is not the first time we were disappointed with the service and decided to give them another try, but no more. The only reason I gave one star is because zero is not an option.
I used to enjoy the Frisella's in La Verne, so was excited to come here. The place is charming and I am sure the cocktails are great but the food.... the food was nothing of what I remembered. No strawberry lemonade, though the website says they do, was the first let down. I ordered the brisket sandwich with coleslaw and my daughter had the roasted chicken dinner. We were served promptly but my brisket was not brisket. I believe it was tri tip either way it was chewier than the bread. Plain, no seasoning or flavor other than the bbq sauce I poured on it. The coleslaw was drowned in dressing. My daughter's chicken breast was lukewarm to say the least but she enjoyed the corn and beans. For the price, it definitely wasn't worth it. Needless to say we wont be coming back here. Save your money if you want real bbq.
Only 1 person working there. Absolutely horrible to do that to your employees. Since my food was probably sitting around for so long, it was cold. I just gave up and went somewhere else. What a waste of $22
