I don’t usually review places but we came to this place and we had tacos and quesadillas at night they were bomb so far the best
Delicious Mexican food! Friendly staff. Not the cleanest place in the world but that's how you know it's authentic.
Delicious food and great service.I love the homemade tortillas
Great place for Mexican food, really good chips & salsa, get the guacamole too, their gordita with chicharon is fabulous. All in all..I love this place for food.
Great food at a great price. I got the Alambre with mixed beef & chicken last night and it was awesome! Wife got the Camerones de diabla and our girls got the beef casadia and loved it. Thanks!!
Chicken Pozole was delicious. Prices were good. Comfy place. Local hangout. Service solid. Will be visiting again on our next Santa Barbara trip.
Best alambre I've had in town, would also recommend the chilaquiles, staff is always attentive and welcoming. This spot can be a little hard to find parking but there are some spots around the corner. If you have Verizon this spot is a dead zone for service.
Ordered over the phone and was quick and easy to find. Would recommend parking by the 7/11 for pick up due to parking. Lots of tortillas for a take order the shrimp and sea food was great!
My friend Ray and I came here for dinner today while we are in town. We both thought the Tacos were GREAT! I ordered two asada and one Chorizo and a Bistek Ranchero, Ray ordered three chicharrón tacos and a wet asada burrito. All , 💯% 💣
Altamiraano's is so, so on time with authentic mexican food. Service is so gracious, food comes the time it takes to make it so so delicious.....juan
My all time favorite authentic Mexican food.Their shredded beef is to die for. I recommend this place to everyone!
Best Menudo in town. I have tried about 4 different menudo places in Goleta. This wins the prize. Hot, fresh, not to spicy. It was delicious. I love in Ventura, and will not driving up here to have it on my days off.
My go-to Mexican restaurant in Goleta that has a decent beer list with a surprising number of IPAs. Ham breakfast burrito subbing rice and beans for potato is the day to go!
A good place for a quick bite. Good Mexican food and friendly weight staff. I will plan on going back next time I'm in town.
Love this place. They are very close to our apartment and everything we've tried has been delicious 😋 The salsa bar is great as well!!
Great place to get a late night bite to eat. They stay open after 9pm. and serve tacos to customers until 11pm.
The food was very good and priced decently - surprisingly, however, none of the salsas were nearly spicy enough for me
If you really want good mexican food you really need to try this restaurant. Everything is made fresh even their tortillas. Food great.
I used to be a regular here, always had tacos de caveza and quesadillas con adobada from their grill out front. Delicious
Excellent enchiladas platter here filled me up and tasted great! The Sopes I had with carne asada per the waiter's recommendation was excellent, the mole sauce here is a treat!
A Goleta hidden gem for fast Mexican food. Very reasonable prices and fast service. Altamirano's salsa bar is on point!
Food is always outstanding Tripas good lord I end up buying extra with a modelo ♥️♥️mmmmmm
Delicious tacos and quesadillas. The homemade corn tortilla is a special touch. The meats are tender and flavorful. The customer service is great. The taco lady is so kind. All the self service sauce bar is good. Its definitely my fav taco spot in St Barbara.
This place is great. Everything tastes fresh, and has great flavor. We order take out from here often for breakfast, everything we have had has been delicious. The salsas do lack a little flavor sometimes but by and large their selection is great.
This is one of my favorite places in Old Town, Goleta. I don't have a TV, so I go here to see the Dodgers. They have been making tacos on a grill right out on the street and they have a cart with everything anyone would want to adorn a good street taco. Their beers are offered in extra large glasses (20oz?) and are well priced. They have tap handles I would not expect from a neighborhood tavern restaurant. There are some great spots to park a bicycle out front and parking is now much better thanks to the Project Connect work in Old Town. I brought my whole family here recently and everyone was happy. Bike on over and order some tacos. It'll brighten your life.
Amazing food! Took a chance and ate here on the first day I moved into town. Will definitely be going back and bringing friends and family. I'm not an expert on Mexican food, but they had all of the staples (tacos, burritos, fajitas, etc) plus some dishes I have never heard of, that I tried and loved!

Best place in Goleta. I just feel like home! And I'm not even Mexican. Food is just amazing, menu or tacos and quesadillas. Everything is perfect. Service is great, staff is friendly and helpful all the time.
Delicious! The tortillas are handmade (I watched her make & grill them). I look for Mexican restaurants that make us think their grandmother is at the stove. THIS is one. Their mole is made in-house. Go. Go try it for yourself. Highly recommend this place.
Authentic vibes and flavors. Very friendly and attentive staff 🙏Our food came out quickly as well. Delicious mole enchiladas and chicken nachos. Nice self serve salsa bar with about 7-8 types + condiments. They have some good beers on tap (and bottled). Reasonable and fair prices. We’ll be back ☝🏼
We looked up restaurants and chose Altamirano's at random. We were pleasantly surprised that the food, service and atmosphere at Altamirano's were superb! The prices were also reasonable. Definitely worthy of five star reviews!
Best mexican restaurant in Old Town. Excellent, quality ingredients. Chef cooks amazing. Feel loved there. Reasonable prices.
Awesome dinner!! We got dinner to go last night and it was excellent!! Food was supper yummy, staff was super friendly and the salsa bar was fresh and awesome. I got the Alambreas mixto with chicken and steak, my wife got the shrimp diablo and our girls got the chicken taquitos all were cooked perfectly. The new parking out front is also a huge improvement. Thanks so much to everyone at Altamiranos we will definitely be back soon!!
This is my friends family owned restaurant, I’ve been wanted to go for a really long time. I finally went today and I’m really glad I did. Food is amazing, my friend is a really nice and helpful waiter, food is fast but professional, prices are good for what you get. Im personally not a fan on beans, but when I tried the beans with the enchilada meal I got, oh my god the beans are delicious. Before today there has only been 1 time I enjoyed beans somewhere and that was my dads homemade beans, but now I can confirm there’s 2 beans I have ever enjoyed. Enough with the blabbering about the 5 star food, if you have time, go here you will not regret it
Genuine and unique Mexican restaurant in the heart of Old Town Goleta -- you can't miss the lady out front making fresh tortillas. Fair prices, big portions and honest, caring staff make this an easy recommendation for a casual lunch or dinner spot with friends. It also appears to be the local watering hole for the workers in nearby restaurants and stores. Keep in mind the wait staff are very busy, so service is fairly slow. Bonus points: this place is open much later than 11pm some nights, so don't write it off unless you see the lights are off.
Really reasonable prices and delicious food! Ordered shrimp tacos with margaritas and it was so delicious! They have their own salsa station that you can try. Loved this place and plan on coming back!
Man, you go out and want to have some food after a couple ciders/beers… this is the place to go. Open later than all the others in old town Goleta, it reminded me of a true Mexican experience. Still closes at 11 pm but that’s 2 hours later than everything else in here. First thing getting in: they offer me a beer. That’s what I want to hear. My wait for the food is worth it. I even asked for a couple more tacos after devouring my enchiladas de mole. Today (Friday) the tortillas are even handmade. I really appreciate this place ♥️.
Super recommended I have not stopped eating there the Carne Asada 🔥 The atmosphere is Chill perfect for a few beers and talk for a while, Nice employees they make you feel at Home I loved it Is the best Mexican Restaurant that is in Goleta since I came to this city this year I have not seen a better one 💯💯💯💯

This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in town. I love a sit down restaurant that serves chips and salsa and combo plates, and Altamiranos is a great option for this. I love their chile rellenos, and their chicken mole enchiladas are amazing! Plus the prices are super reasonable for what you get.
Want home made tortillas late at night this is the spot. Food was great. Except for some reason my last taco was really salty. Dont know why but besides that great food.
Very good Chile Verde, very lean & tasty. Huevos Ranchero just OK. Their margaritas are made with wine. Lots of tv's, Kind of bright lights. Nice server. Parking somewhat difficult.
The nachos are great, they have nice meat and condiments and not too much chips
Authentic family run Mexican food restaurant serving scatch-made classic entrees in a humble yet spacious dining room in the heart of Old Town Goleta. The Chile Verde was tender and delicious with a depth of flavor that left me pleasantly surprised. The beef alambre was beautifully composed and surprisingly savory with the addition of bacon to the usual ingredients. I can't wait to go back and try the homemade chicken mole.

I got Taquitos that comprises of rice, beans, and chicken tortilla wraps. The rice and beans were good. But the chicken was tasteless and the wraps just contain plain chicken without any flavors or veggies.
Party of 6 for pickup. A person called asking for credit card information after online order, told them I was not comfortable giving my information over the phone she then told me that they are cancelling my order if not. After a good minute on the phone, we had already arrived to restaurant. The restaurant retook my order but when I noticed that I was double charged, they told me I would have to deal with my bank. Far too much extra to deal with just to get ok food. A young lady with us bought us drinks and also got double charged at the restaurant for just drinks.
I really don't like to post if I don't have anything nice to say but this place was filthy. The menu's were filthy and had stuff dripping down them. The salt and pepper shakers were filthy and even the ketchup bottle which had nothing in it was dirty. The salsas were sitting open and uncovered by the door. Not sure why I even stayed and tried the food but I did. The beans were OK but the rice was clumpy and crunchy at the same time not sure how they managed that. Didn't enjoy the taco either. Ate there once before and wasn't pleased then either but it was a long time ago and thought I would give it one more chance. Never again sorry to say.

I ordered delivery and specifically asked for a lot of spicy salsa. After tracking the driver down outside I asked her if there was spicy salsa, she told me yes. Came inside and opened up the bag. There are two separate bagels of over salted chips and no salsa whatsoever... Not even a Pico de Gallo. The beans are bland, the taco was over salted as well, haven't even broken into anything else because I'm so disappointed with everything so far and can't even mask it with spicy salsa. Getting in my car to go get salsa from them... Got back to the food and it's now ice cold and everything is WAY over salted. Waste of money. Won't be back. Bummer... I was really hungry and now I can't get the salt out of my mouth.
Costumer service is really bad. The foot just look good on the pictures but it's not good at all. It does not have any Mexican flavor. I wouldn't recommend you to come to this place
No consigas los chicharrones. No se parecen en nada a los que he tenido viajando por América Latina. Se supone que los chicharrones son crujientes y tienen un poco de carne. Eran solo pieles de cerdo empapadas. Don't get the chicarrones. They're nothing like the ones I've had traveling in Latin America. Chicarrones are supposed to be crispy and have a bit of meat on them. These were just soggy pig skins. Gross! UPDATE: My wife is Dominican and used to all kinds of Hispanic foods. She’s in the bathroom throwing up right now after trying to eat just a little bit of that disgusting meal.

The cashier was rude. My first time in, and last time. He asked take out or eating in, then wrote it down on a piece of paper moments later asked if I was going to pay.
