My new favorite restaurant in GR, and the best Indian food I've had in the last decade. Staff was incredibly nice & generous. Not much to say because it was solid all around. Will be returning.
Best indian restaurant imaginable, my favorite place!! I have the tea and mango lassie in picture with an assortment of the buffet foods. Extremely good and exceptional service everytime.
The once a month gluten free buffet is like a dream come true!! It’s so special to have a dedicated gluten free buffet that I can safely eat at with my celiac disease. I 100% recommend checking out the once a month gluten and dairy free buffet. They announce the dates and menus on their facebook.

I can't say enough good things about Indian Masala. They have truly earned our loyalty, not just for their incredible food but for their outstanding character. Recently, we ordered via DoorDash, and the driver mixed up our order. After failing to reach the dasher, we contacted the restaurant, fully expecting a complicated resolution. Instead, the owner immediately and graciously offered to remake our entire order at no charge. They went above and beyond to make things right, showing incredible integrity and care for their customers. And oh, the food! The Butter Chicken is absolute perfection. Rich, creamy, and beautifully spiced. The Tikka Masala is equally fantastic. Every dish we've tried has been fresh, flavorful, and authentic. Indian Masala has without a doubt become our go-to for Indian food. We will be customers for life. Support this amazing local business!
I was staying in the Sheraton, Grand Rapids and looking for some good vegetarian food. I am so happy that I found this place. The food was excellent. The quantity size was great. I would definitely recommend this place if you’re vegetarian.
Stopped in on a snowy Saturday night looking for Indian food that would be tasty and have a good burn. I have struggled finding this recently. Not only did they make my dish with good spice, but they also gave me a side of a green sauce to help add to the heat if I wanted more...It was PERFECT. Will definitely be returning more regularly going forward.

Every dish came out hot and perfectly cooked, and the portions were very generous. The menu had a great variety, with options for different spice levels and dietary preferences. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure we were comfortable the entire time. Service was quick without feeling rushed, and they were happy to answer questions about the menu. The atmosphere was clean, warm, and inviting, making it a great place for both casual meals and special occasions. Overall, this is easily one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve been to. I will definitely be coming back and recommending it to friends and family.

I never post reviews, but this place was so impressive that I had to. Blown away by the spicy chicken korma with garlic naan. They have an indian market next door that if you show your receipt they'll give you 10% off. If youre looking for good indian food in GR you won't be disappointed.
Indian Masala has been our goto Indian restaurant for years. We love their recipes and the quality of their food has been consistent and excellent. Their vegan and dairy free options are as delicious as the regular ingredient options. We enjoyed their lunch buffet this weekend (avail Fri - Sun). There were lots of options, with the hot foods including 10 options. There were also salad, cold options, dessert and chai tea. Pricing is reasonable and service is friendly.
The Sunday buffet was excellent! All the dishes had great flavor! (Didn't try the vegetarian options though)
Had an Awesome experience today @india Masala. Goat curry and tandoori chicken, fish pakora were excellent. Lots of veg items too. And the customer service is top notch. Special thanks to Anudeep for making yummy veg fried rice for me. I wish I had taken some pics, i was so focused on my food😊
I tried the buffet today, which was topnotch with lots of veg and non-veg options. Lots of grilled chicken varieties and fish too. The pongal and in desert double ka meetha, they just nailed it. Service was attentive and pricing is good, compared to other restaurants in Grand Rapids. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Great customer service and amazing food! Since it’s Indian cuisine, there are plenty of vegetarian options, and everything I tried was full of flavor and absolutely delicious. I ordered a chai tea to go, and the server was kind enough to offer it on the house, a really thoughtful gesture. Highly recommend!
Nice little place with great Indian buffet. Really enjoyed the chilli chicken and butter chicken as well. Not as much of a selection as some other places, but they do not scrimp on the taste. Would recommend for those Indian food lovers.
Stopped by to try the lunch buffet. Everything was delicious! I enjoyed several chicken dishes as well as some vegan options. Great experience, I will be back! The buffet is currently available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for lunch.
We went walking from our hotel to find dinner on a Sunday evening...every place was a chain with processed foods & no atmosphere! Then, we found this gem - Indian Masala! Genuine northern Indian food and families enjoying dinner together! Naan was freshly made to order. Lots of vegetarian options! Enjoyed our evening with excellent freshly made food...
I am a huge fan of Indian Masala Restaurant when I was living in Grand Rapids, MI! I used to visit weekly and loved their exceptional service - they always remembered my extra spicy order! Their Chicken Tikka Masala was outstanding. Unfortunately, I haven't found the same flavor in Virginia. Highly recommend this restaurant for authentic Indian cuisine!
South Asian cuisine is quickly becoming one of my favorites and I have tried a little bit from so many restaurants, but Indian Masala is the gold standard. The chicken is always so tender, the daal so creamy, naan so soft and buttery - everything is so flavorful and executed so perfectly. Every time I am in Grand Rapids, Michigan this is my first stop. The staff is so friendly and helpful (as much Indian food I have eaten, I don't know a single thing about it). If you are unsure of what to order, stick with samplers on their menu, it will give you a wide spread of appetizers and mains that are most commonly ordered. I would recommend Indian Masala to anyone that already loves South Asian Cuisine, and all of those that are hesitant to try.
One of the best Chicken Tikka Masala dishes in the USA; at least compared to Chicago, Ohio, Indiana, Florida, other parts of Michigan. The rice is uniquely fluffy like mozzarella or coconut shavings. The sauce is creamy and prepared at the perfect spice level and flavor. Portion is big enough for 2 adults. Plain naan was a balance of chewy and crispy tenderness. 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Great restaurant! $11.99 for buffet as of Feb 16 2019 is not too bad! Decent variety of Indian cuisine. They have vegetarian and vegan options too and the great thing is that everything was labeled! The butter chicken curry was delicious including other things in the menu. I definitely recommend.
Came here during my short trip to Grand Rapids and have to admit that the food was more than delicious and service was awesome. It’s an open kitchen restaurant and very clean. The bathroom was clean as well. It has highchair for kids and the staff was very friendly to the kids. A must visit whether you are living in MI or visiting.
Had the lunch buffet. Excellent selection of both vegetarian selections and meat selections. Each selection was very flavorful and made with love. Wish the iced tea was fresh brewed non brisk tea, but that is just a preference for me. Great staff that was attentive and friendly. Pleasant experience overall and one of the better Indian Buffets I been to nationwide for quality and flavor. Next time I am in town, I will return for sure.
Nice place for dine-in. Food tastes very good. I ordered Goat karhai but it had more veggies than goat. Overall not bad
We walked in on a Saturday night and noticed plenty of empty tables only a large table and couple other were occupied. To our surprise, the owner rudely asked us to leave because there was a private party, speaking to us as if it were common knowledge and we had deliberately ignored it. There was no sign posted, no courtesy explanation, and certainly no hospitality.
