This place is amazing. It is a lot bigger than it looks, and is really cool looking inside. The service is amazing, and the staff is super nice. The waiter we got made us laugh a couple times, and was real cool to have around. It has great ambiance, and without even trying the food, you will have a good time. The food here is amazing, everything tastes great, and it was all fairly priced. I honestly think that this is probably the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. I would recommend this place to anyone. Additionally, the food was served super fast.
We have been eating at Asian Garden for 20+ years when we visit family in Grass Valley and it's always great. The Mu Shu pork, Sweet & Sour pork and War Wonton soup are our regulars and are delicious! The portions are generous, the prices are fair and the service is spot on.
Where to start. The most popular Asian food in town, with a lunch specials menu under 10 bucks with huge servings, friendly staff and an unpretentious atmosphere that is right next to work. I don’t know what I would take a star away for, so 5 stars it is! This is the Singapore Curry Noodles lunch special, under $8 for all this food and it’s pretty tasty.
OMG! Absolutely one of the best tasting places to eat in Grass Valley /Brunswick area! Clean, good vibes, very attentive service, loved the mirrors and decor . Best advice: Go from 11:00- 230 for lunch specials or 11:00- 4 30 for Early Bird Specials to give this place a try on a budget! We went with the Early Bird Specials which gives you a great variety taste selection of: soup, Salad, fried shrimp, and fried rice ALL with your main meal for $11.25 ! We tried combo A almond chicken with sweet and sour pork. Hubby had combo C Kung PAO Shrimp with Chicken chow mein. Wonton soup was delicious. Small salad was most excellent and very yummy! I ended up buying some salad dressing to take home! Very generous portions for main meal which was very tasty. They had a variety of beverages to.offer : shirly temple, Arnold palmer, Roy Roger's, Thai tea, beers, wine, pink lemonade and soft drinks. Paid $27.40 for 2 Early Bird Specials, 1 sweet tea.
Went here on a date Saturday and it was wonderful. The food was amazing and so was the staff. Beautiful atmosphere, very serene and well decorated. We had a good time. The food was presented beautifully. There was a carrot in the shape of a rose. Definitely will be back.
Fantastic family friendly spot for your event! Indoor service with plenty of space, as well as take-out and delivery. All the classic dishes, with the Hot and Sour Soup being one of my favorites!
My favorite Chinese food!
Their menu no longer states what gluten free options they offer, but our waitress was very knowledgable about options... so we ordered: GF Sweet & Sour Chicken, GF BBQ Pork Fried Rice, and GF Moo Goo Gai Pan... all amazing to eat!
Very good. Got the 2 person dinner.

So good. Each dish was very tasty. And Hot and Sour soup was excellent.
Enjoyed!! Service was wonderful. Food, excellent!
Beautiful cozy restaurant with friendly service and excellent authentic dishes
Restaurant is quiet, with lovely soft decor, and the food was amazing. Service was outstanding. Will definitely go again!
Service actually tended to us quickly and poured each soup at the table side. The food came quickly and super hot! Happily enjoyed the delicious food and lots of ice water! Would highly reccomend for family dinner! I'm definitely coming back!
We've been enjoying eating here for 30 years. It's one of the nicest Chinese restaurants that we have in this area. Tonight's meal was particularly good, as in better than usual. The wait staff are attentive and have also been here a long time. Friendly faces. We also think the prices are reasonable and with the portions as large as they are, we get at least a couple of meals from it. Good deal for us!

If you’ve never eaten here or it’s been a while since he last ate at Asian Garden then it’s time to revisit. The food has always been good, but just recently the past two times I’ve eaten there the food is phenomenal. It’s on the level of Fats The famous five star quality Chinese Food restaurant from California. We ordered a general Tso‘s chicken combo. The chicken was perfectly crunchy and the sauce was just the right blend of sweet and spicy. The chow mein noodles were full of flavor perfectly cooked and not too oily. Even the fried rice had so much flavor it was burst in your mouth without being overly salty. All of the vegetables and every part of the meal were perfectly cooked crunchy but not undercooked. The prawn appetizer included with the meal was massive and equally super crunchy. They had our food ready in about 12 minutes for four orders of General sows and an order of large soup. By the way the hot and sour soup was absolutely amazing I’ve always thought it was good there but apparently they’ve improved on that recipe as well. I contacted them to congratulate them over the phone and asked if they had gotten new chefs. They said the staff in motion to make the same but there are new managers and these new managers are kicking butt in terms of ensuring the absolute quality at all times and apparently they’ve upped the wages of all employees so I’m sure this is a great incentive to cook better food and you’re like me when food is this good I recommend you tip better to make sure all the staff is happy. Once you taste how much the quality has improved and experience a an atmosphere of excellence and a staff that puts that extra charm upon any interaction, I’m sure you will agree they deserve a nice tip. Take my word for it this is the best Chinese you can find until you get to Sacramento and even then it competes with some of the best restaurants there.
My go to dish is egg foo young this place. The last couple times I’ve ordered has sent me something. That was an egg foo young we take it out order to go.
Overall, good experience, with the two entrees tasty and flavors well mixed. We got sesame chicken and basil eggplant with tofu. No complaints there. The hot and sour soup to-go was scalding hot fifteen minutes after we brought it home. Not great in a plastic container. It smelled rank when we opened it. Inedible. Have had better nights here. Maybe let your soup cool a little before dishing it into disposable plastic. Not sure what was with the aroma.

I would love to leave a glowing review, but I can’t in good conscience recommend this restaurant to anyone has any kind of food allergy or sensitivity. I have been here twice recently with different family members, and it’s been really disappointing. While the food is tasty for me, my family who have severe gluten intolerance had a very different experience. For one, they have exactly ONE item on the menu they deem gluten-free… so okay, no big deal, this is the item they order. Absolutely no alternatives are offered or suggested - just oh you’re gluten-free? You can get this one dish. But okay, we’re not that picky. I have just learned that on trip one, my family heard them openly mocking that something gluten-free was ordered, overheard from the kitchen. Very rude and unprofessional. I understand that not everyone who claims to have a problem with gluten may have an actual issue, but that’s not for restaurant staff to speculate on. It made for a very uncomfortable atmosphere for my family member. On the second visit, it was much worse. Same treatment as far as one dish only… made it very clear to the waiter that they can’t have gluten, and he obviously understood and recommended the same thing as before. When we received the dish, however, it was presented with fried rice and an egg roll… both very clearly not gluten-free. We flag the waiter down, and enquire just in case, and he tells us “oh yeah, those are not safe” and… walks away??? It’s on the same plate. No offer to comp, replace, anything… just a “yeah don’t eat that I guess” sort of attitude. It’s worth mentioning that this was plated entirely differently than the other visit too… on visit one, they put a side of regular steamed white rice, and no roll. So roughly half the plate my guest could not eat this time. Fortunately, she only has a moderate gluten sensitivity and was able to work around it, though she admitted it didn’t taste very good. Guest one wasn’t crazy about the dish, either. Had it been my father eating there, and had this been presented to him and he’d eaten any of it, he would have been throwing up for hours after, because his issues with it are far more severe. They do not take food sensitivities or allergies at all seriously here, and it’s very sad to see. It is otherwise a nice restaurant and we had previously enjoyed it. A year ago, they did have more options my family could enjoy, and they were excited about eating there again. The lack of consideration will force us to dine elsewhere.
I was a regular. I am not anymore. They have rude customer service, and when you need to talk to a manager they are never there. This is what my money paid for liquidity and watery not to mention they drop my hot package of hot sauce on the floor. I didnt mind it as much because it was still in the container. But the grin on both the customer service face was very rude ! I wasn't going to even write an review. However I have been eating there sense I was a child. This not acceptable behavior from any customer service !!! This post will not allow me to post the picture of what my Mongolian beef looked like.
I haven’t been here in many years. The service was good. Everyone was friendly. The food had no flavor. Chicken tasted like the worst quality money can buy. We will not be coming back.
Alright… Asian Garden has been my FAVORITE place to go to but with all the price hikes and the food changes I was looking forward to finding anything good to eat on the menu… I’ve gotten Almond chicken, pork chow mein, and hot and sour soup many times and since the owner changed, it was good before.. Tonight however it was all bland and the noodles were soggy to all hell yet when I called, the hostess said “oh I can assure you, our food is delicious” very customer service of her.. As well as there was nothing to be done about refund or reimbursement even though it was placed on THEIR online ordering.. …we all know Asian food is not hard to make taste good when you put in the love that is required to make such dishes… Absolutely no love of food was tasted tonight and as I am diabetic I have to unfortunately rely on the correct portions and to have already taken the amount of insulin for the amount of food I know I’m going to eat, yet NOW I have food in the garbage, low sugars, and wasted money because they refused to even consider the customer… I was in love with Asian Garden but never again! Waste of good earned money in this terrible economy and they seem to not care one bit about it. So unfortunate Rest in peace to the first good day I’ve had in a bit
