Pleasant and warm ambiance. btw, Israeli cooking made just as it is done in Jerusalem Great food made to our likings. Cooked very fast as well. They have the liquor bar too.
An amazing food! Great atmosphere and service. Reasonable prices but the food is amazing. Can’t wait to be back.❤️
Always a great experience at Rothchilds. The food is delicious. The service is excellent. Have eaten here many many times since it opened.
Cute place, great service and delicious food! The highlight was the hummus and mushrooms surprisingly! I don’t usually order mushrooms but it paired so well with the hummus. The hummus was creamy and delicious with the warm pita bread!
You won't find better food anywhere. The food is fresh and delicious. The dishes are well composed and quite appealing. The service is quite good as well. Highly recommended. Update...went there again. It was as good as ever. Everything I said still stands. Highly recommended
I had such a great experience here! The staff was incredibly welcoming and made us feel comfortable right away. Service was quick, but never rushed—they really know how to take care of their guests. The highlight for me was the roasted red pepper appetizer—absolutely delicious and bursting with flavor. It was tangy, garlicky, and perfectly seasoned. I’m still thinking about it! Every dish we tried was fresh and full of vibrant Mediterranean flavor. If you’re looking for a place with great hospitality, fast service, and unforgettable food, this is it. I’ll definitely be coming back!
A Must-Try Restaurant in Great Neck! Rothschild Restaurant in Great Neck is truly a hidden gem! The service is outstanding, and the owner is the most generous and kind person I have ever met in the restaurant industry here. The food is absolutely excellent—fresh, flavorful, and incredibly delicious. It’s the only place where my husband actually agrees to eat fish because it’s just that good! What makes this place even more special is the authentic Israeli flavors that bring a real taste of home. If you haven’t been yet, you’re definitely missing out! Highly recommend!
This Middle Eastern gem has drawn us back twice within the past two weeks, and each visit has impressed us more. Having traveled from Manhattan to Great Neck via the LIRR train from Penn Station, we found the journey to be relatively quick and convenient, setting the stage for our delightful experience at Rothchilds Coffee & Kitchen. Recommended by locals, the service was excellent, with friendly and attentive staff. What We Tried: Roasted Beets with Labneh: A vibrant medley of flavors. Hummus and Chickpeas: Smooth and rich homemade hummus served with warm pita. Grilled Salmon: Moist and flavorful, served with cauliflower cream and lentil stew. Minute Steak Skillet: Tender rib-eye steak with a mix of sweet and regular potatoes. Syrian Kebab: Bold and aromatic, served with tahini and majadra rice & lentil. Desserts: Carrot Cake: Perfectly balanced in sweetness and texture. Halva with Ice Cream: A unique and indulgent treat. Rothchilds Coffee & Kitchen offers an exceptional Middle Eastern dining experience in Great Neck. The journey from Manhattan is well worth it for the delicious food, warm service, and inviting atmosphere. We highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to our next visit!
My boyfriend and I went there for our one year anniversary dinner. It was his first time trying authentic Middle Eastern/Mediterranean food, and Rothchilds did not disappoint! We ordered hummus with pita bread, a shakshouka, and the Syrian kebabs. Our meal also came with a complimentary side of bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The shakshouka is only served in during brunch hours, but they were kind enough to still make us one when we requested it. The hummus was deliciously creamy and the pita bread was warm and fresh. Even though it was only an appetizer, my partner and I agreed that it was the best dish we've eaten there. The shakshouka was hot and tomatoey. And the Syrian kebabs were well-spiced and pair nicely with lentil rice and Israeli salad. Overall, the portions are huge so we left satisfied!
We had the kabab and the schnitzel and finished with ice cream. The place is beautifully done, very pleasant, with good background music. The food is great and was above expectations. The service and personal attention was above and beyond and the owner, Shir, is one of the nicest people we had the please to meet. We will definitely be back for more.
Enjoyed this local gem for it's simple menu and classic Mediterranean fare. Shashuka was excellent, while strange it didn't come with pita, we still had some leftover from another dish. The cauliflower and eggplant appetizers were delightfully light but filling nonetheless. It was my first time here and there's limited outdoor dining on the sidewalk. Get there early if you want a spot outside, otherwise, the indoor seating is comfy and spaced out safely.
If you’re in Long Island (Syosset / great neck ) and want to have an amazing Israeli food experience go to Rotchilds coffee and kitchen . Everything we ordered was amazing . My fave was the grilled aubergine/ eggplant. My friend is obsessed with their shakshuka. Majadara was nice too.
The best food in NY is in Long Island! Everything on the menu is spectacular, we had the special ceviche with the preserved lemons and blueberry and the beet salad and the salmon tabouli salad, everything was fresh and delicious. A must go place an definitely worth the trip from Williamsburg to Great Neck.
TLDR: Neighborhood spot in Great Neck. Middle Eastern fare with some creative twists. Brussel sprouts caesar, chicken schnitzel. Wandered on a weekend and was pleasantly surprised. It's a small neighborhood restaurant in Great Neck. The brusell sprouts caesar was crispy, a bit of saltiness with the caesar but the dried canberries was a nice touch. Fried cauliflower was good as well, bright acidity and lots of flavors. For mains, the burger was a good size portion and it's cool how you can mix both regular and sweet potato fries. Schnitzel was my favorite. It's a very large schnitzel with mashed and definitely ask for some schug. The chicken was tender, breaded well but a good size. I especially loved adding the schug to the chicken and the mashed too. By the end I was dipping the chicken in the mashed with the schug. Definitely will return.
My friend and I decided to check out this restaurant one Friday late afternoon, and while the food was exceptional, the overall experience left much to be desired. Located within walking distance from public transportation, the absence of parking at the front was notable. Instead of a warm welcome, a “We Support Israel” sign greeted us, setting an unexpected political tone. The lack of a traditional greeting from the waitress, who promptly handed us menus and divided our table, felt impersonal. Nevertheless, the culinary journey began promisingly with a delightful appetizer of hummus with mushrooms, followed by a savory Syrian kebab as the main course. The molten chocolate cake served for dessert was a sweet conclusion to the meal. Accompanying our selections were a ruby red grapefruit cosmopolitan and a fresh fruit margarita, both of which were refreshing. However, the service shortcomings became apparent as we progressed through the evening. The absence of cloth napkins and the provision of only one paper napkin each were disappointing, considering the price paid. Additionally, the need for specificity in ordering, such as requesting ice water with ice, highlighted a lack of attention to detail. Attempting to capture the waitress’ (Stella’s) attention proved challenging, as she was often engrossed in conversations with other staff members or acquaintances. Despite periodic check-ins, the overall level of attentiveness fell short. Upon receiving the bill, we were surprised by an unexpected price increase for the main course, attributed to a post-4 p.m. billing policy. While the waitress kindly adjusted the price, this discrepancy should have been clearly indicated on the menu. In conclusion, despite the restaurant’s culinary prowess, the overall dining experience was marred by subpar service and unexpected pricing policies. While I would rate the food and drinks highly, I urge the establishment to prioritize improving its service standards to ensure a more enjoyable dining experience for future patrons.
Will return. Awesome bread, and fresh salad - a side to the falafel. Clean decor. Good service and good food. At brunch, there is a party occupying two tables at the back, making the small hall very very noisy. But I didn’t mind, given the decline this town has been experiencing, I’ll take the noise. We need a little buzz and noise, don’t we? I was going to order the spicy cucumber cocktail but one of the ingredients - syrup stopped me. Shakshuka is ok, will try something else next time. I took the leftover bread home - they’ll throw it away, right? The sweet busyboy even packed in a container of olive oil + balsamic reduction (sweet). Thanks 😊 Street parking.
Very clean and new gem in Great Neck. The food is awesome, the salmon and steak were cooked to perfection. Great flavors and excellent seasoning. The service a little lacking even though it's a small place with a lot of staff. I really don't think you need 2 bartenders in the middle of the day on a weekday.
Found this local gem in Great Neck, on Middle Neck Road, and easy to find parking on Sunday, either on the street or there is a public parking nearby. 5 of us and waited for 5 minutes and we were seated. Surprisingly they use Stumptown coffees in this place and not too many found in Long Island and it’s a big plus to me, the coffee lover. They have many choices in the breakfast menu, and we ordered Rothschild breakfast, the pesto, the olive paste are yummy and I can ate them all with the ciabatta, egg Benedict, avocado toast, steaks & eggs, and eggs & salad. They served the ciabatta instead of regular toast and they are so delicious, matched perfectly with the olive oil & vinegar. I will go back again to try lunch and dinner.
