Just drove to Manchester for a business trip, and found this super nice restaurant. There is one gentleman from Malaysia served us, super nice, very good service, food is also very tasty.

The biggest and the best dimsum I have ever had in the UK. Forgot to take photos. Chicken mushroom rice was great too. And yummy sesame balls!

Our 5th time here for dimsum and always consistently good! The durian crisp is sooo yummy and the food is so delicious. The waiters are always refilling our tea without us asking, really great service! :)

Appropriately named “home Chinese”, I felt like I was eating at a friend’s place, but in a good way.. Attention to detail was great, my waitress Amy, was an absolute dream, she gave the best recommendations and she was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I would eat here again, it’s so good to find a place that has good food, good service and good prices. I only managed to take a picture of one thing as I was too busy eating by the time the rest of my meal came through!. Thank you so much for a wonderful dining experience.

Value for money is exceptional. We had the Salt and Pepper Squid, Dim Sum appy, the corn crab soup, and the soup dumplings. Delicious and competitive against the best we've had in Vancouver British Columbia. Service was lovely and the vibe of the restaurant is cozy clean and trendy without coming off as too posh. Will find this place again if we come through Manchester!

We visited last night and really enjoyed it. Probably the best Chinese restaurant we've tried in Manchester. - excellent menu, including for vegetarians and vegans - really varied choice of dishes - dimsum were fantastic - great quality - very reasonably priced One or two minor details could be different (they kept refilling our glasses, sometimes we don't want to drink more), but we had a really great time and we'll visit again.

In my opinion, this is the best Cantonese restaurant in the UK, a great place for tea, dim sum and Chinese dishes. It's even better than some restaurants in HongKong. I come here every time when in Manchester. Great food, great ambiance, and even better service.

Thoroughly enjoyable experience with family tonight. The staff were super friendly, the restaurant has a lovely design, and the atmosphere was light. We ate a lot of dishes and I would not hesitate to recommend any of them: 🔸 Har Gau (Prawn Dumplings) 🔹 Kung Po King Prawn 🔸 Sweet & Sour Chicken 🔹 Szechuan King Prawn 🔸 Roast Duck (Cantonese Style) This is a new favourite spot of ours and we will be returning!

A traditional Chinese restaurant offering a robust menu of traditional dishes. The portions are big so arrive hungry. The service was excellent and everyone was very friendly. We came during the recent holiday season and they offered a set Christmas menu, we opted for menu “B”. And for two people it was a ton of food. Everything was tasty and we enjoyed every bite. We did reserve a table in advance and glad we did. This place got busy fast. Overall a great place for Chinese food. While not a low cost option the food and service make it worth the slightly higher prices.

It's so delicious! Especially Crispy Brown Rice Cheung Fun, which is their signature and must be ordered! The shrimp inside is very slippery. Surprisingly, there are water chestnut in it, which are crisp and rich in taste! The durian crisp was also delicious and I, who even don't like durian, fell in love with it. The Stir-Fried Beef Ho Fun is also very authentic. As a Chinese, I have to say that this restaurant is well worth a try. Will keep coming back!

Delicious, great service, and decently priced! My partner and I visited after doing some shopping in town. We didn't have a booking but it wasn't too busy (at 12:30pm on a Saturday) so it only took 5-10 mins for a table. The staff are very friendly and attentive, we were served right away and we ordered dim sum including char siu pastry, turnip cake, salted fish & meat pie on rice, steamed tripe, cheung fun, mini Shanghai dumplings and pork and vegetable bao. It was more than enough food for 2 of us and thankfully our server stopped us from ordering more! The food came out relatively quickly, and each dim sum was absolutely delicious. We enjoyed every single dish, and even though we were very full by the end, we wish we could have tried more. Everything was well cooked and full of flavour. Overall, we spent around an hour at Home Chinese and it cost £54 for the both of us (including tea) which is actually very reasonable for dim sum. The restaurant itself is very sleek and modern inside but with a comfortable atmosphere. We didn't feel rushed or ignored like how you might feel in some of the other Chinese restaurants in Chinatown. We'd love to come back and try dishes from the main menu too, the roast meats look good.

Excellent value for money. Staff super attentive. Excellent service! Extremely delish. Biggest siu mai dumplings I've ever had and so juicy! £50 for 2 people depending on what you had and couldnt even finish we were so full! Best chinese I think Ive ever had ❤️

My favourite Chinese restaurant in Manchester. The food is really good, great dim sum, and also some that you don't get in other restaurants like the dough sticks stuffed with Prawns, and the crispy cheung fun. They also serve some interesting cocktails which are delicious and unique to them. What makes Home stand out is the staff, they are so friendly and helpful and full of banter. Great place for lunch/ dinner and some fun!

We had a wonderful dining experience at Home Chinese Manchester. We opted for the set menu, which proved to be an excellent choice. The portion sizes were generous, and by the end of the meal, we were pleasantly full and satisfied. While the prices are slightly higher than many other restaurants in Manchester, the quality of the food more than justifies the cost. Every dish was outstanding, with fresh ingredients and authentic flavours that really set this restaurant apart. You can genuinely taste the difference in the preparation and ingredients used. The food alone makes Home Chinese worth the visit. If you're looking for quality Chinese cuisine in Manchester and don't mind paying a bit extra for an exceptional meal, I highly recommend giving this place a try. We'll definitely be returning.

Lovely restaurant, went for family meal on a Sunday, felt comfortable there, was seated quickly, and had traditional dim sum dishes along with main meals.

I had a nice lunch here. The restaurant is well decorated and the service was good. I enjoyed my mixed roast rice dish with duck and crispy pork. It was a generous portion and I like that it comes with some veg. Would return if I have the chance.

I am so glad that we found Home Chinese. We have tried Chinese restaurants in and around Manchester city centre and have not so far been impressed. Most seem to us to be tourist traps more concerned with speed and quantity than quality. Home Chinese has changed that. The restaurant is welcoming and spacious and reassuringly full of customers sharing Chinese heritage. This is a good sign! The staff are polite and efficient without being overbearing, there is plenty of room and above all, the food is both superb and plentiful. Every dish has that unmistakable taste of being freshly prepared to order. We ordered one dish and when it wasn't served with the others, we enquired about it to be told that it would be served shortly as its preparation was more complex than the others. Like I said - all freshly cooked to order. We have now been here twice and are already planning our menu choices for next time. We plan on hitting the dim sum menu heavily! Very highly recommended indeed.

How excited to discover this is a sister branch of Leeds Home!! Excellent service, we was given the private dining table as we had booked a large table. We ordered a good variety of dim sum and decided on a full duck . However staff asked if we would like Pei Pa Duck as it's their Special. He then suggested half of each duck and I am so glad I listened. The highlight of the meal was the Pei Pa Duck And the Durian Crisp bakery... Wow full of flavour!! Yam cha is no longer a cheap meal as it once was, and with that it's hard to find good dim sum I really appreciate the flavours, quality of the dim and sum and the great service Thank you for the excellent meal

Good value for money for sure, generous in portion size particularly beancurd skin rolls. But unique options too, like the red-skinmed brown rice roll crispy prawn cheung fen, crispy vermicelli inside, very good! Friendly staff also.

Much appreciated the quality of Dim sum and the nice variety of dishes we could choose from the menu ! Ordered 7 different dim sum and a plate of fried rice, to be truthfully, they taste fabulous, this place probably ranking top 3 in Manchester right now. And that is a conservative take. The service is really heartfelt and sincere, enjoy the time at "Home". Grateful to have a fantastic lunch today, it couldn't have been better. Thank you for the amazing arrangement.

I was wandering around Manchester, having not eaten the entire day. The time was creeping towards 18:00 (important detail) and I searched “best dim sum in Manchester”. I entered this establishment and said “prove to me you’re the best dim sum restaurant in Manchester” The kind host said “we don’t do dim sum past 17:00 but we welcome the challenge!” Admittedly, I had to order quickly but a hungry man knows what he wants. I ordered the salt and pepper chicken, steamed glutennous rice, steamed spare ribs and 4 different types of dim sum. I was blown away by all of them! The waiters are constantly paying attention to your table (I like that), and occasionally pass comments like “that food is ALL for you?” I really enjoyed dining here and I hope to return here soon! I highly recommend Home Chinese Manchester!

Home is the best Chinese in Manchester. I have been visiting so many of them over the past 20 years and there is nowhere as consistent as Home. Menu selection, quality, presentation and service are all spot on. Really look forward to visiting when in Manchester. Make sure you book a table (especially weekends) as it is popular.

One of the best places to have dim sum in Manchester right now (and the best fried rice we have had in a long time). Their other dishes were also very tasty. Glad to see more good quality, authentic restaurants in Manchester. This place can be quite busy. Make sure to book in advance.

The food is delicious, the staff is friendly, and they answer food-related questions with great patience. Nice atmosphere, and the teapot on the table can be refilled with hot water for free—perfect for enjoying tea on a cold day at Etten.

Came here with my family for a meal, it’s the first time we’ve had such delicious dim sum in Manchester! The dim sum was delicate and full of flavour. Highly recommend the Crispy Brown Rice Cheung Fun, deep fried king prawn dumplings, Saliva Chicken and Chicken feet thai style. The staffs were also very friendly and the environment is clean and elegantly decorated, making it very comfortable to sit and dine.

Had a lovely family meal today we were a group of thirteen people, we had a private dining area to ourselves which made it very special. Nothing was too much trouble. We had friendly and helpful service and the staff were attentive at all times without being intrusive. Every meal was of a high standard and the portions were generous, by far the best Chinese food I have eaten in Manchester.For the quality it was more than reasonably priced. I would certainly recommend a visit and will certainly be going again.

Very nice restaurant. The service staff was very lovely and checked on us while we ate. Got a reservation before hand but I feel like we still could have gotten a table without one. The sweet and sour chicken and duck in plum sauce was so delicious. Very large portions good for sharing. Would go there again

Have not been to this venue since it was the Mongolian Barbecue some 15 years ago. I have been missing out. Great food, attentive staff and reasonably priced. Noisy kids' birthday party in neighbouring room but that cannot be helped, otherwise great experience and will definitely be back.

It was amazing! Beautiful food, beautiful staff! I went for my birthday and they put a banner up and balloons next to our table! Sang happy birthday and gave our table a shot drink each and me a little cake! I would recommend this place to anyone! Thank you guys x

Traditional and authentic Cantonese dishes are available here with big portions of a reasonable price. Warm services and pleasant atmosphere here.

A nice Chinese restaurant with a slightly more upscale feel. We visited on a Thursday night and it was quite busy. We shared the appetiser platter, followed by two mains: the sweet and sour chicken and the roasted duck and both were enjoyable

We came to Home Chinese after seeing plenty of good reviews, and it certainly lived up to the praise. The dim sum here is excellent - authentic in flavour, generously portioned, and great value for money. One of the highlights for us was the Deep Fried King Prawn Roll, which came highly recommended by some local Chinese diners we chatted with - absolutely delicious and worth ordering. In fact, everything we tried was really well executed, from the classics to the more unique dishes. The service was another standout. The staff were warm and attentive, and we'd like to give a special mention to Lester and Kai Jie, who made us feel very welcome throughout our meal. If you're in Manchester and craving proper Hong Kong-style dim sum, Home Chinese is a spot l'd definitely recommend.

We came here last year and really liked it and decided to try it again.. it was still good but here is a more detailed review. We had the set menu B. Appetizers - were wonderful Crispy Duck - the best! Sweet and Sour King Prawns - almost the best Sizzling Fillet Steak - smelled divine but the taste didn’t match up with the smell Chicken with Cashew - was not our favorite Yeung Chow Fried Rice - another great dish At one point they must have lost our order because they tried to bring another plate of duck (probably should have taken it) and after that it took over 30 minutes to get the next course and then we weren’t as ravenous. It was Friday night and got busy about the time the second duck came.

Spent a few days in Manchester and met up with people or dinner. This is a lovely high end looking restaurant without the high end prices. Food was pretty good. We ordered the 3 roast meat, silken tofu with vegetables, salt and pepper squid and chicken curry. I do not recommend the chicken curry, it’s more like curry sauce from take always. We only ordered it because my friend wanted curry. The roast meats were tasty, pork was crispy. Squid pieces were chunky. We all liked the tofu dish which was flavoursome. The Waitress serving us was helpful and polite.

Definitely your bougier dim sum place. Nice decor, great vibes & v good service! Food was a little hit & miss though… the stir fried beef ho fun, roasted meats & deep fried prawn dumplings w/ salad cream were my fav!

The standout feature are the excellent, friendly and helpful staff. It's not in the best of areas, but is nicely decorated, especially upstairs. Downstairs a little less so, but still fine, however the passage through to the toilets really let that side of things down - not a big deal since you don't eat your meal there, but it does take away from the sense of quality portrayed elsewhere. There's an excellent selection of food on offer, and whilst it was certainly tasty, my meal didn't jump out as anything _really_ special; just a pleasant good meal.

Good location and online booking brought us there for lunch last Saturday. Didn’t feel welcomed. A bit disappointed with the food. We were given 1.5 hours time for the next guests.

The food was average overall, and the value for money didn’t feel particularly strong. The har gow and spicy chicken was fine. However, the daily soup tasted quite heavy on MSG, which left us feeling thirsty afterwards. 🤧 The sweet and sour fish head was on the salty side. And the squid and prawn cake with Chinese kale felt expensive for the portion. The xiao long bao were a bit dry. As this place was recommended by friends, I came in with higher expectations and felt slightly disappointed this time. 😕 It may simply come down to personal taste.

Had our first dinner at Home after returning Manchester by coach. The sweet and sour pork was mediocre, the pork was not freshly made, very dry and tasted bland. The source was okay. The fish with pickled cabbage again was mediocre, the bowl was half filled with bean sprouts and pickled cabbage was hardly found. The fish used was neither cod nor sea bass. I reckoned that it was not of high valued fish. If a restaurant was good, I would probably think of revisiting again for tasting another dishes. Definitely not this one.
