Great food. Great staff. Great diner atmosphere.

A local institution! This place is so clearly a part of the local community fabric... the menu is HUGE and everything is prepared quickly and with love. We greatly enjoyed our Saturday brunch (salmon Benedict, veggie omelette), and would happily stop back if in the area again. Great service with a smile!

Tasty option for late night dining. Stopped in after a late flight. Excellent service and solid food! We had dinner fare which was really good and I would bet breakfast is solid.

This restaurant provides the highest of quality food and service. There is no doubt in my mind that if you visit this fine establishment you will be satisfied and willing and eager to return for more. Very good! Awesome!

I love this place! The food is great and there’s always never a wait time to get in. I go to LIU post which is down the road from the Greenvale Townhouse so im here often. For students they also give you 10% off if you show them your student ID.

Greenvale Townhouse Diner has been our "let's go grab breakfast" spot for over 10 years. They recently did some renovations, and now it looks even more welcoming than it already did (if you're super hungry when you get there, after you're full, be sure to take a moment to enjoy the koi fish pond outside the front entrance!). The staff is friendly, personable, professional and very observant (we come with our toddler often, & when they bring us glasses of water they also include a paper cup with a lid & straw for him!). It is always clean (bathrooms included), and the family-orientated staff completely understands the 'time constraints' of having a possibly 'nap-time-looming, cranky toddler' within the hour... they always get his meal out quickly, keeping him content and making sure mommy can actually eat shortly after :-). They are also very aware of people who are dining without children, and are very accomodating as they seat people as their adequate space alots for accordingly. The menu is extensive and diverse, but over the years whether we've stopped for breakfast, lunch, brunch, dinner or late night snacks, the service & food have always been stellar!

My favorite diner to go to. Great quick service but of course it gets busy during weekend brunch time. Their omelettes are delicious as are their banana walnut pancakes.

Always very clean , no long wait , staff are very attentive and nice making sure your needs are met. I’m simple I get the burger deluxe and it’s always nice hot and fresh. Drinks are made to perfection as well

The booths and table settings are very comfortable, spacious and clean. Everything I have is always delicious and if you share a meal, they give you twice the amount at a very reasonable price.

One of the top 20 diners on long Island and certainly within 20 miles. Reasonable prices large portions . I always bring home half for another meal. Try their Greek dishes. The bar is open. Great service. Bring the whole family or crew. Great place to go without reservations. Powerful strong atmosphere.

Compared to NY Diners, this was a classy, wonderful, place to eat! Our omelets were delicious; our Server was classy & a long-time Pro; the decor was classy & upscale. If you're in the area, you won't be disappointed!

Every time we come to LI to see our daughter in college, we come to Greenvale Diner for a few of our meals. We have never had a bad meal or bad service here. It amazes me how extensive their menu is- you can pretty much get whatever you’re in the mood for. Great place & awesome staff! We love Stephanie- she’s a great sever and just a genuinely nice person!

It's been a while since I have been to the Greenvale Townhouse, I was pleased that the food and service are still top-notch. We went for breakfast and our food was ready less than 10 minutes after we put in our order. Our waiter was friendly and attentive.

My friends and I are students at Long Island University, and our dining hall was closed. It was about midnight, so we looked for restaurants in the area that were still open. We found this place, and decided to give it a try- and we're so glad we did! Even though we came in late, everyone was courteous and polite. The food was the best diner food I've ever had, and my friends agree. They even offer a 10% discount for college students in the area! Will definitely be coming more often :)

We LOVE this place. Such a great diner. The staff is awesome. The food is fantastic. What more can you ask for? We moved further away from here, and we keep coming back just to eat the delicious food.

First time going, while coming from the hospital in the late evening with my wife. We haven't eaten anything so I pulled in. We couldn't decide what we wanted so we simply ordered 2 BLT's...They were exceptionally delicious and came with a side of slaw and a tasty pickle. Very satisfying meal... Friendly service at a reasonable price of $15.00 I would definitely go back when I am in the area.

My mom lost her wallet. She called the restaurant and they kept it safe! We happily picked up the wallet. We bought Thanksgiving dinners that lasted for two days! The staff and owners are very nice.

I've been living in this town now for 3yrs and never ventured out because I work like crazy. This was the first time I have ever been here I have to say the service was awesome! I just went to order for take out. The place was pretty busy but they sat me down and when they gave me the menu they said don't rush it's okay. They even gave me a free coffee while I was waiting for my to go order. And the coffee was so good I didn't even need milk! 😎👍

The price is more than reasonable, the service is amazing and food portion was just right. From our own meals to other meals coming out. A quick pop in from out town and couldn’t be more than happy to have stopped. I will be coming back that’s for sure!

I don't write reviews often but this place deserves one. I walked in there last night at 11:15pm. The ambiance was a 10/10. big parking lot, Nice big glass doors... The place was really clean, the the booths seemed very new, and they were very comfortable. Waiter was nice, and I ordered the a simple tuna sandwich with onion rings, they arrived really quick. The sandwich was just right, overstuffed buy the perfect amount, not too much mayo, with right the right amount of SUPER FRESH Lettuce, it gave the sandwich a nice crunch. The bread was toasted just the way it should. The onion rings crispy, those were good... I had a few left over because they give you the right amount of food. There were also a constant orders of pickups, late at night so you know the other food they got should be good.

This place has been around for ever. Si e years back they did a beautiful job remodeling and it was done well and still looks fantastic. The portion sizes are huge and unlike othe places making plates small they keep what you have come to respect and increase price to keep up with this crazy inflation. You always get what you expected . All servers are professional and seem like they enjoy working here . Great Diner!

Me and my friend have yet to be disappointed by this place. Anything I order I am so happy with. Even just a regular salad is good and the portion is so big I take half of it home. The service is great too, I wish more people knew about this place

I’ve been here many times - the food is reliably good. The omelettes are always very delicious, and the service is always great. Today our waiter rushed out just as we were leaving… turns out we left a charger in our booth and he wanted to catch us before we left… very thoughtful :)

We stopped here for a quick bite after visiting a local college, plenty of parking, service was quick and we shared a burger, after mentioning to the waiter that we planned to share our meal, it was brought out cut in half for us and no additional plating fee (I’ve heard of an additional charge at other places).

This place has consistently good service, genuine and friendly, and very very good diner food. In fact, their fish, which we order regularly, is extraordinary for a diner. It is fresh and very well prepared, both broiled and stuffed. They take pride in it, and it shows. Their selection of other diner food includes generous portions and fine quality. Friendly. quick, professional service. Really the best in the area.

We had breakfast here this morning and it was wonderful. Our server Jimmy is the best. He is very attentive to his customers and provides excellent service. Jimmy began working here recently, and were pleased to find out that he is working here now. We originally met him during the pandemic when he was working is a different place. I had the Spinach and Feta Cheese Omelet with egg whites and my husband had eggs over easy with bacon. Both dishes were cooked to perfection. . The atmosphere is very pleasant with quiet music which is very refreshing as most diners have the news blasting. We recommend Jimmy and the Greenvale Townhouse Restaurant highly. Thank you for your excellent service Jimmy, and delicious food.

This is Great place to eat. Very friendly and intent of staff. They have a big menu of food from Munchies to complete dinners. Great prices and big portions.

Big big burgers, meat hanging out the sides of the bun. Omelet hanging off the plate, in a good way. Banana Split, full of large scoops of ice cream, whip cream, cherries and sliced bananas, delicious. Yes, the food is aesthetically pleasing as well as tasting good. I look forward to returning to this establishment, since it doesn't seem to disappoint the Foodie in everyone.

Service was very good as was the food. Typical diner menu and prices in line with other local diners. Turkey BLT club was generous, Belgian waffle was enjoyed by my son. Attentive but not intrusive wait staff refilled coffee and water when needed, asked how we were doing and if we needed anything. Parking lot can be difficult to exit especially if heading North on Glen Cove Rd..... be patient, take your time and be safe.

Business breakfast meeting yesterday morning. Staff and service was great, food came out pretty fast, and they accommodated several custom requests, including adding crushed oreos and extra chocolate chips to pancakes and adding jalapeños and broccoli to home fries. I had the Leo omelette, it was a bit dry.

This is very beautiful for a diner. It has marble on the walls. Marble tables. Quite unique. Only had french toast and well-done bacon, but it was absolutely delicious and quite a large portion. Found wait staff excellent polite not overbearing. Good experience.

Our waiter was a pleasant guy who was willing to make a substitute to one of the meals at no extra cost, which is a surprise in these times. The burger was not your typical diner burger, as it felt freshly made and not from frozen. The size of the meal was also very substantial. All in all, a very nice experience and I'd highly recommend this diner.

AUG2023 party of 1: Food was pretty good although the “Mexican omelette” had a lot of cheese and toast lots of butter. The atmosphere was nice in the early morning very local spot. Service was excellent treated like a VIP. Nice breakfast spot.

DWINDLING IN NYC PROPER, old-school diners often owned by Greek Americans are still popular in the city’s suburbs, I am happy to say. Greenvale has big display cases filled with pies and lush cakes — known in the past as dessert shrines. The menus are as large and thick as a copy of a 1970s edition of the Newsday tabloid. Portions are magnificent, especially the lamb gyro, the service very good, and you can add cherry syrup to Diet Cokes. The loos were spacious and spotless and very chilly.

Huge menu = all mediocre food. Good place for groups who can't agree on a specific type of food lol. An American/Italian/Greek/ assortment of dishes. Typical NY diner with an older aged staff. There's a Koi pond out front so that's a thing?

We were seated right away,waited several minutes before waitress came to take even a drink order. Service very slow. Once we were served, waitress never returned to us. The owners were asked by us 2x for boxes and the check. I won't return there nor will I recommend this diner. By the way the food was just ok.

I've made two separate orders for this restaurant and both of them were missing items. The second time I ordered I even made a special note to please not forget the item which was forgotten the first time, and not only was it forgotten again, but I also got a smaller sandwich and no silverware or napkins. Regardless of how good the food may be, how generous the portion size, and how conveniently late they are open, I won't be ordering again.

I like it but my wife doesn't. Last time we went, she asked for her burger to be cooked medium, but it arrived well done. Same thing with mine, by the way. She sent it back, and the next burger was also well done. The waitress said that happens all the time there. Huh? Prices are a bit high for a diner also. So why three stars? They are open late, the service is pretty good and overall, I have not been dissatisfied with the meals I ordered.

Been back here 2 more times....10/6-dissapointed w food,very bland. Had Manhattan chowder-watery no clams, all potatoes.Swiss,turkey sausage avocado egg white omelet-NO SEASONING @ ALL. Wife enjoyed open turkey, stuff mushrooms-ok. Not sure if different cook???? NOT $70 ENJOYABLE........

What happened to this diner? Are the customers now paying for their new renovation? High prices for tasteless, sparse entrees. Just not what it once was. Very disappointing. I did go back recently and had a better experience. I can only speak for their grilled cheese sandwiches.... much better. Service was good too! I believe in second chances.

A nice diner but the food is a little lackluster. Friendly staff, clean pleasant environment. Desserts looked like they had been around too long so we avoided them. Good coffee & lots of refills!

I got the panini and it said with it comes French fries or potato salad - DASH- tossed salad or Greek salad. So I thought you get both to choose from. I got french fries and tossed salad. When I got the bill, I was charged an additional $8.95 for the salad with was lettuce tomato cucumber with dressing. Not sure why a basic salad was $9 but also why I wasn’t told you only get one side. I just feel like if someone misunderstands the menu during ordering, an explanation should be given.

I been little disappointed about this place to be honest. So it's big place ,pretty clean, and serves was good. Food I doesn't like at all. Eggs Benedict was overcooked, and sauce not tasty at all. Outside place look pretty fancy. I don't think I wanna come back here again.

Nice inside and friendly staff. Food isn’t that great, however the portions are big. I’ve been here with friends several times and can say it’s nothing special. It’s more of a place to hangout in than it is to eat. Typical diner food, so I suggest getting pancakes or other fried foods. My friends and I agreed any of the dishes with bread (sandwiches, quesadillas, etc) have not been that great. The bread is just hard or too crusty.

Decided to take family out on Saturday after having a great experience with a client on Sunday breakfast. Must have had different cooks altogether or a manager from Sunday. It really shouldn't matter, right? Greeted by a lady at the door and was pleasant and conversive. Server was fine if we wanted our questions answered in "yes" or "no" format but thats not what you look for when you go out for a meal with family. You judge a diner by how they make the home fries but this was made by back up cooks not the ones works on Sunday. Didn't appreciate the canned corned beef, not expected from a well established diner such as this one. It's like going to Balthazar and getting Sara Lee's pre-packaged croissants. I will stick to coming here on Sundays only

Nothing special here. The food is okay, but not really good. Certainly not great. We were there for breakfast, so I am only commenting on that. But it was not good. The cheese omelet had a very metallic taste to it. Weird.

My sister and I went here and the food was just...edible. The coffee tastes like they're using the same grounds over and over. I could only take a sip, really gross. And it was way over priced, especially considering it wasn't good.

Came in for lunch, sat us in a corner in the restaurant, no one was seated there thus resulting in horrible service. Had to walk up to the waiter to ask for the check because he was busy on the other side of the restaurant (where everyone else was eating). Food wasn’t great either…

It's a beautiful restaurant inside. Unfortunately the food is not worth your time. My steak was under seasoned. Home fried potatoes were mealy and bland. Spanish omelette was overcooked and tough egg with a strange sauce that was more like sweet marina with lots of celery added. Cooks need to learn how food is supposed to taste before being let near a kitchen again. Wait staff is excellent, polite, and attentive. I feel bad that they have to carry mediocre food around all day when they deserve to work at a better establishment. Biggest tip I've ever left for bad food!

I ordered the home fries and I took one bite and immediately stopped eating because it tasted off and kinda like bacon, my dad took a bite and said “yep that’s cooked in bacon grease.” It was really bad. I’m also vegan and haven’t eaten most meats before in my life so when I got home I got very ill. I’m not allergic or anything but if I was that could have been very bad. Overall it’s a nice diner and the staff is very nice as well, they just need to work on their cross contamination. Maybe have a separate area for cooking veggies.

Food was good, however service was lacking during a recent visit- it was not busy inside, but I was handed a menu rather than being seated. When the waitress brought the food there was a mistake in the order. She then brought the correct food but was unapologetic and seemed irritated. Not sure what was going on as in the past service has been great with other staff.

Dead flies came out of the salad I ordered. The new salad they replaced were not washed properly, so stones came out. The waiter didn't understand the menu I ordered. Don't want to come back there!!!!

The first clue should have been the fact that we saw a waiter stir the mud in the coffee pot with a fork. However, we were hungry. So out come the potato skins, 2 potatoes for 4 people to split, except the waiter only brought 2 plates. We won't call them old, but vintage like the decor is a good description. The bacon was so hard it nearly cracked a tooth, and was covered by a Kraft single. But wait, there's more! 3 of us ordered burgers of different temps, which all came out the same unidentifiable shade of gray. My friend got the chicken francais, which tasted like vomit and was a nauseating shade of yellow. Oh, and my cousin ordered a cherry coke and got a shirley temple. To top it off, the waiter threw the food on the table, amid other unpleasantness. After receiving a poor tip he chased us out of the restaurant! I would say don't go here, but judging by the number of empty tables, I'm pretty sure people already know to avoid this place!

THIS PLACE MAY HAVE THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE OF ALL TIME. We all decided to sit at a table. It was clear that the waiter did not want to serve us. Within five minutes the waiter came up to us and yelled at us to get out of the restaurant and go over to KFC. He started screaming at us to get out and told us to tell Colonel Sanders hello. Never going back here would give 0/5 if I could. Just to add on there we’re two other people in the entire restaurant and even they said why what are you doing. Clear they did not want our business and will never go back.

There was hair in my food and the waiter had no clue what she was doing. She ignored my table, didn't even bother to give us a bread basket. Went there because of good ratings, they were lies, food was terrible.

Worst food ever, even worse service asked my server for Earl Gray tea and was told I don't know what kind of tea we have ordered a cheeseburger and fries cheeseburger was cold bun was stale Also ordered a chicken wrap and potato salad there was hair in the potato salad When I brought it to my server's attention I was told by my server really there's hair in there that's the 2nd time today turned my stomach overheard the table next to us having problems with their orderS as well. only came here because of Google reviews clearly they were mistaken absolute waste of my time and my money Cost me $25 and still hungry Beware don't believe Google reviews this places got 4 stars and more clearly it is a lie!!!!

This is mine second time here. First time 2005, second time November 2016. Place looks nice, but food doesn't taste so great. And friend of mine had a coffe and it tasted like warm dark water,reordered coffe same result. I don't recommend this place (

Beware: I strongly believe my family got food poisoning here from the potato salad and Turkey. I called the restaurant and got the manager and informed him. He was nothing but rude and dismissive. I wanted to give him a heads up regarding the incident and he was very dismissive and shrugged it off with “whatever”. So much for trying to help them and their other patrons out...

the inside is nice, but the food was not that good. we waited a while, and there was barley anyone in the dining area, the food tasted off and multiple items that were ordered were forgotten.

Mouse was running around on the floor and owner treated the people that seen the rodent just to make sure they don’t report him to the board of health. Very nasty old man that owns the diner and treats his workers like selves. For your own health do not eat at that diner.

06/07/24- Me and my spouse walked into this establishment in the morning and we were greeted with “ oh you scared me by the female waiter. That’s a strange way to greet customers but I decided to make nothing of it. Later when making our orders she shared the same comment again that we scared her and claimed that she is deaf from one ear and has trouble seeing. This was not the sentiment she shared to white guest who came in after us whom she welcomed and served with neither of these comments. That is when things started to become uncomfortable. Still I ignored this lady for the sake of my spouse and our enjoyment of breakfast. Finally, when we went over to the counter to pay, she claimed that she could not tell if we had paid or not after she swiped my card. She had the receipt in her hand that said “Paid” on it. She even held my card after the fact because she couldn’t “see” if we paid. Still we provided with a cash tip with this treatment. This no longer became a matter of coincidence but rather her prejudice mannerism as we are men and women of color. I do not recommend this establishment to any one of color. Disgusting waiter. Disgusting overall experience.

My first time in the area, and sorry but the home fries were burnt. They replaced them with another set of burnt home fries. I wouldn't recommend this diner..sorry

Place is beautiful but food and service was horrible. No seasoning in anything. And my waiter had to lean over the table and talk 2in from my far the entire time. Had an issue with the bill and in stead of explaining why he charge me extra for something he walk away and left us sitting here. I do not recommend

Grand reopening isn't working for food or service . Fries were cold and soggy , tzatziki was nothing but sourcream ...terrible. Wait , it might be better ...not worth the cost.

Do. Not. Go. Here. The French Onion Soup and Roast Beef with Au Jus were overly seasoned with salt, rendering them inedible. The Sprite lacked carbonation, and the dining area was spacious but marred by the pervasive saltiness of the dishes. Additionally, the Roast Beef was dry and unappetizing in its presentation, as evidenced by the accompanying photo. When I raised my concerns with both the manager and the waiter, they acknowledged that the saltiness of the beef was unintentional but defended the excessive seasoning and usage of liters of salt in the French Onion Soup as part of their recipe. As a seasoned food critic, I found this response concerning, as my experience dictates that French Onion Soup should not be overwhelmingly salty. Ultimately, this dining establishment fell short on multiple fronts, and I have decided not to patronize it in the future. There are numerous other dining options available in Glen Cove/Greenvale, where one can enjoy a superior meal at a more reasonable price point.
