Extraordinarily and impressive service! My sister dropped her drink, but a girl at the counter helped us immediately. She also made another cup for my sis. My family were all grateful for her!

During the Covid-19 Pandemic this location does adhere to the San Mateo County Health Guidelines which include wearing a mask by both staff and customers, social distancing while waiting to order and outside tables to drink your beverage. Ordering by Pete’s App is also available for quick “to go” orders and no money to touch. There is currently no indoor seating at this location until the restrictions are lifted. Tables on the exterior sidewalk area are available on a first come first-serve basis. Located on the corner across from the Wells Fargo Bank ATMs and a few doors down from New Leaf Grocery Store in the centrally located Shopping Center at Hwy One & Hwy 92 and North Main Street/San Mateo Road. They specialize in the sale of Coffee Beverages and Beans.

Peet's is Peet's. Always a reliable roast and brew. This particular Peet's always offers clean restrooms, competent, professional, and friendly staff, and a clean, relaxed environment. It's become a favorite way station whenever I elect to take Highway 1 between San Francisco and Santa Cruz.

After a bad experience trying to customize a drink I came here. Next time I'll come here first the employees were nice appreciative and gave great suggestions. I left happy and content to start my day. the music was peaceful and it was clean and inviting atmosphere. I live the real plants.

This is where we usually go to get our morning coffee. It is good and consistent coffee if you like Peet's dark roasted style. I do wish the breakfast food items rotated a bit more often. Starbucks actually seems to do a better job with this. Other espresso coffee bars in half Moon Bay are a bit spottier in terms of quality.

First of all, extra cred to Gabi! My husband and I love to come here on a weekly basis to either relax or work. The wifi is free and works flawlessly. The place is spacious, cozy and relaxed and has a good vibe. The staff is super friendly, especially the manager Gabi, she's the sweetest!

Great coffee and atmosphere. Great place to hang out and read a good book. This location recently remodeled and I like how they rearranged the merchandise shelves amd tables. With more efficient spacing, this shop added more places to sit.

Yes, it is a Peet's chain, but I honestly have a hard time finding good, convenient coffee in HMB. Located in a strip mall of sorts, it isn't the most picturesque location. However, I like that they have outdoor seating, free WiFi and the service has always been friendly. Last time I was here I asked for two large cups of boiling water to make my Cup O Noodles (sometimes I just crave these!). I offered to pay for the cups, but the nice woman behind the counter didn't charge and I got to enjoy my noodles down by the beach later.

Peet's Coffee is always a reliable place to go for good coffee 🙂. This location is conveniently located in the heart of half Moon Bay near the beaches. Today I just felt like a nice cool fruit tea with pineapple and lemon, it was just right for the moment especially with the warm weather outside. It is also a convenient place to go when camping in the area, just coming to walk along the beaches. I'm just happy that I can find it here 🙂

Again visiting my lovely Peet's Coffee at HMB. Always great to be here. Very good high quality and freshly brewed coffee. My preference is medium roast plain cup of coffee. It's test fantastic... 😊 I like to be here also for the kind and relaxing atmosphere. Seating arround small table enjoying interesting reading and also your beautiful cup of coffee is really great pleasure. Will look for the next possibility to visit my preferred coffee place.

I’m a regular at this Peet’s location whenever I head to Dune Beach, and I can always count on getting a great cup of coffee here. The baristas are always friendly and do a fantastic job—honestly, they make you feel right at home. The coffee is exactly what you expect from Peet’s: strong, flavorful, and consistently great. It’s one of the first places I stop before heading to the beach, and it never disappoints. Whether I’m grabbing a quick espresso or a latte to go, the quality is always spot-on. Plus, the vibe at this location is always welcoming and chill. If you're in the area and need a caffeine fix before hitting the beach or just want a reliable coffee spot, this Peet's is a solid choice.

Stopped for something, before we left town. My hubby loves Peets, so he ordered on the app, which made it super simple. Got our favorites, so it was a great start to the day.

I was surprised to find a vegan/plant-based sandwich at Pete’s! It was a vegan egg, cheese and sausage on a light bagel. Additionally, the coffee is decent. I expected mediocre coffee, but the plain cup of drip coffee was better than Starbucks coffee.

J
Jason S

Spacious establishment with easy parking, generous air conditioning and clean facilities, offering all the usuals including MDB drip brew (thank you). The coffee was served exceedingly hot, so much so that it produced an unpleasant scalding aroma from the containing cup material (think burning grass). It was rather detracting from my general Peet's expectations but easy to fix, as I hope they will. The Blackberry raspberry cream scone made up for it. Very good. Overall, a pleasing stop and nice staff.

The staff needs to announce the names when they complete a drink more robustly. So hard to know when yours is up as the speak in barely speak above conversational levels.

Good things... Good coffee somewhat friendly staff. A lovely coffee shop. The not so good things. As I walked up to place my order I can see that the batista was busy, but she didn't even acknowledge my presence. I feel like I was being intrusive. The power went out(not your fault) and I was in the bathroom and they asked me to go out the backdoor because... I really don't know why. It's the small things that makes people want to come back. :-/ Not the worst experience from a coffee shop, and I would come back to give it another shot if I make my way back around the area again.

I don't come to this location often but it is a reliable place to get my coffee fix when I'm traveling highway 1. The pastries are fresh and the barista usually does a good job on my cappuccino. The staff here, thought friendly, tend to be more laid back than I would like when the place gets busy. It takes longer to get a drink here than it does at the shops in Dublin, San Ramon, or Berkeley that I frequent more often. It could just be the more laid back atmosphere or Half Moon Bay, but still it can get frustrating to wait around when there is only one drink a head of yours.

M

Makes decent coffee so no complaint their especially if all you get is a standard coffee. Its a place to hangout and sit down at a table to socialize with people/friends but that's it. If you come to "get stuff done" then make sure you come with your laptop and phone fully charged because there is only like 1 or 2 wall outlets here even though it's kind of a big cafe (lame😣) and they are almost always taken too. Bathrooms are standard unisex bathrooms finally that are "standard" clean.

Always liked this place, but today I had a bad experience. I took my uncle visiting from Italy to have a latte. As always, cashiers was very professional but this worker, whom, I was told was the manager, came from the back and yelled at my uncle to take his hands off the glass. Well, the 89 years old man doesn’t speak English and was just pointing, not touching anything. It was rude of him to talk to an old man in such a manner. I asked if he had touch any pastry and he answer “no one said he touched anything “. It’s sad for me to say it, but the all female crew is so good that management should keep this guy in the back. Every one in the store apologized, but this guy Even a customer there said she was chocked. I never seen this guy there before but I hope he gets a promotion and a desk job, away from customers. No name tag, but another worker told me his name was Kyle.

The coffee is great, as always. The service - not so much. When my 87-year-old Dad ordered 3 cappuccinos for 3 people, they only gave him one, and he had to repeat the order, waiting for another person to be serviced. When my 83-year-old Mother in Law needed to go to the bathroom, it was impossible to unlock it because she had to wait a few minutes for the code lock to reset after the previous person. And after that, they closed the bathrooms because they were going to close in 15 minutes. There were 3 senior citizens in their 80s inside the cafe at this time! And when we all finally got our coffees, one of the baristas came up to us and said, “we are going to close in 5 minutes”. BTW, we walked in with our service dog, and they said, “dogs are not allowed here.” We explained that he is a service dog, and they agreed to let him in I’ve traveled a lot, across the USA and in Europe. This was the worst service I’ve experienced in a cafe since coming to this country from the USSR 32 years ago.

You know what? This place use to be ok. You've messed up my lattes time and time again and usually I let it go, but not now! I got a simple coffee with room and the coffee was watery. Not only that, but when I politely asked for more milk your baristas were rude and full of attitude. Mind you this is at 3pm and NOT busy. Forget this store! Never again!

Went in for a medium coffee with an add shot which I always order at my local bay area peet's. Asked them not to waste the second half of the shot they told me they would have to charge me for it, never been told that at any of the peet's I've been in before. The two women were very grumpy, bad experience won't go back there ever again.

I ordered an iced vanilla latte and they forgot the syrup so, i asked for some in my drink, which the barista immediately gave me, but then as i walked away i heard her tell her co-worker "that girl is so cheap"! yes, I can hear you, omg she never even asked me to pay for I guess the free syrup?, which, i gladly would have paid for, but instead she insults my character and i actually had left them a $.70 tip, not cool. I was a bad experience and I live in this town :O

Wow, this Peets coffee house, hands down, wins the worse Retail Customer Service award of the year! Here's my story .... I had a customer coupon card that should have given me a free complimentary cup of coffee at Peets, and yes, it's been in my wallet for a while, maybe a long while. When I eventually presented this card to the Barista, she calmly smiled at me and stated that they no longer accept these complimentary cards at Peets, and without blinking an eye, torn-up that card in front of me, threw it in the bin, and asked me to pay. Again ... WOW ... Worse retail customer service ever experienced! What's the point in handing out these loyalty cards for a complimentary coffee/ tea in the first place? ... To gain customer loyalty and brand affinity? ... going out on a limb here ... I think maybe yes? But then, to tear it up in front of a customer and trash it? How does that inspire brand loyalty? ... to be honest here and I'm talking to Peet's Coffee & Tea Corporate Execs ... it causes the exact opposite effect, your customer loyalty takes a nose dive, big-time! ... Me, well I'm going to Starbucks for my next cup o' joe. BTW I ask the Barista to take the card out of the thrash so I could take a quick pic'.

I ordered almost $60 of coffee. It was 10 minutes before closing. They wouldn’t let me use the restroom stating it was already closed. I was told to use the restroom at Millie’s. I told them that I was not a customer at Millie’s, rather I was a customer at their store: Peets. I love Peets Coffee, but I will not be giving THIS store my business anymore.

Very bad service!! Rude!! And terrible service!! I was discriminated i came with my family! To have a nice warm drink right after our swim at the lake! And we started to order our drinks, when they change worker to take the other. A younger guy took the order and gave it so wrong. The lady was mad made another drink to someone else after us,, and then she stop making our order. And said she already gave us our order, then we ask for our receipt, because they never gave us one,, and argued with us about the order!!- at the end she went to look at the cameras to see if we did had grab a drink!! We are Latinos, and payed our drinks it’s not like we asked for it for free!! and she was so discriminated! When she finally made our drinks she never said anything nice? Then she made a drink to a white man after us and she apologized for taking for ever for his order!! Really like wow!! So meanwhile my kids waited for their drinks after they where cold !! It’s a hot chocolate!! Not cold or warm!! Everything was bad and upsetting!! Really bad experience’ my husband like to drink cofffe from these place but had better experience somewhere else ! We come all the way from fremont to have a great time here in half moon ! Almost every weekend ! And to have this bad experience!! No so good !! To bad for the great place

My 71-year-old mother in law went to Peet’s Coffee today in Half Moon Bay for a simple cup of coffee and was refused service because she had her small Yorkshire Terrier service dog with her. Her dog is fully trained and legally allowed to accompany her, yet the manager, SARAH, turned her away instead of offering help or understanding. This was extremely upsetting for her no one, especially a senior with a service animal, should be treated like that. What happened was disrespectful, discriminatory, and completely unacceptable. Service dogs are protected by law, and refusing service is not only wrong, it shows a lack of proper training and compassion. Peet’s needs to retrain their staff and ensure something like this never happens again. My mother in law will not be returning, and neither will our family.

For a better accepting coffee shop jump over Hwy1 to Starbucks! The barista was rude and terribly receptive to its customers. I walked in with my actual Service Dog, and she flat out called out telling me how dogs are not allowed in the shop. Meanwhile, a white man and his dog that was not on the leash (but was a very cute and adorable dog) was never told anything about his dog. He even approached me to tell me how she was so delayed in refusing customers with dogs since he had already been I there, ordered his drink and was waiting for it. But soon after and before I even could approach the register she yelled out to me to tell me. Never once asked if my dog is a service dog, or even why I brought him in but simply yelled out at me. I could have started a long try my conversation with that young girl and put her in her place, but I refuse to entertain people beneath me. Instead what I did do was jump over to Starbucks where I know dogs are welcome (service or not). Seems like Pete’s coffee doesn’t know how to train its own workers. Disgusting behavior and never again would I or will I spend my money in a Pete’s Coffee shop. Terrible experience there, and you know it is bad when other customers approached me outside to tell me how rude that barista was and behaved. They did invite me to come back in (the customers) but I am better than that, and decided to take my business to Starbucks instead where ALL are welcome, including dogs. Too bad she behaved more like an animal than all the other two dogs there besides mine. Never again going to Pete’s coffee…maybe they need to learn from city based Pete’s coffee. FYI, none of the questions below are applicable as I took business to Starbucks where I did get a chocolate croissant, Venti Vanilla cold Brew, and Dragon Drink Refresher, which all were great! Thank you Starbucks, Pete’s coffee, learn from the pros!

I have frequented this store numerous times, over several years. The staff has always been pleasant but today I had my first negative interaction. The server was the store manager and I was requesting a coffee refill. I am well aware of the refill policy, I usually have two cups of coffee. Her tone, asking me questions whether I had been in the store, did not sit well. I felt like she thought I was trying to steal a cup of coffee. Her question was perfectly reasonable, her delivery was abrasive, demeaning, and left a sour taste in my mouth. I gave her feedback about how I felt about my interaction and her response was that she was just doing her job. I made a food order and she just dropped it on the counter, walking away, neglecting my request for it to be warmed. This behavior was uncalled for. Customer facing skills are seriously lacking, from my perspective. A smile and a little positivity goes a long way providing a pleasant customer experience. Just a thought…

I’ve had multiple disappointing experiences with a barista named Gaby at this Peet’s location. She is consistently rude, short, and has a very sassy attitude when interacting with customers. On several occasions, I’ve also overheard her speaking negatively about her own coworkers, which feels unprofessional and uncomfortable as a customer. I expect a welcoming and respectful environment when I visit Peet’s, especially since other staff members are generally kind and hardworking. Unfortunately, her behavior has made visits unpleasant enough that I’ve started reconsidering this location.
