Barista was super helpful & very friendly when I couldn't find my typical beverage on the menu. He was patient (as was the other barista) in figuring out what we wanted & making it to order for us. Quick, friendly service - we'll go back when we're out that way again.
Ladies working the closing shift june 18th were really nice, their customer service was 10/10, something that i havent experienced at a starbucks in a while 😊
Small shop near the Safeway. When we first tried to find the location our Google almost took it right past it but we found it. A cold brew and hot chocolate for the road.
Absolutely love this location. They have the best workers. Drinks are well made, and although they can be understaffed at times, they do great under such circumstances. One thing I hate, is the tourists that are completely rude. When there are rushes, they think that the world revolves around them and get upset when the staff can't restock the bathroom. I don't know if those people can see the line of drinks the baristas have to make, but those tourists need to reconsider their attitudes and behavior. Just kindly let the staff know and it will get done when the rush has died down a bit. But yes as for the performance of the staff, they are very kind and awesome workers. I recommend this location.
The 2 staff working did an AWESOME job taking care of the RUSH of customers, mostly parents picking up "breakfast" for their kids on the way to school (what ever happened to oatmeal or cereal for breakfast at home even when you're in a hurry?). We only waited 10 or so minutes for our latte & mocha, but they were both perfect and served with a smile and "have a good day!" Mega Kudos to these 2 young ladies who kept things going and with smiles on their faces and an excellent attitude. Starbucks, you owe these 2 a bonus 😊
We defrosted here after a cold sunset on the way back to SF from Monterey day trip! Nice vibe! Not busy at all!

They recently renovated and it looks amazing! There is no seating here and it mainly runs off of mobile orders and pick ups. You can still order inside through a barista though

This Starbucks is in renovations. This is not your typical Starbucks to go work and sit. It’s really just good for grabbing a drink and running. It’s located in a little shopping center, but parking can be tricky sometimes. This is in one of the less desirable areas of half moon bay
Hey there Cashier in the purple shirt with the smiling eyes working so hard to learn the system and doing a FANTASTIC job, you keep working hard my friend. You will get it. Hey Barista being mean and talking down to someone trying to learn in a fast environment, be nice. You were new once. Life is hard and people are trying and customers are watching. Give grace. Guy in the purple, you will be her boss one day because people will return for your kind spirit, not hers. Drinks are good.

We thought to stop by here while returning after spending good time at shore and seeing the sunset. We were told that they didn’t expect these crowd yesterday and closed the door early. They ran out of milks and sugars too. Had so much of waiting time for our orders. Restroom were out of hand sanitizer too. I felt they should have been prepared well for the weekend. Will think again before visiting here.

Service took over 10 minutes even though there were only 2 people ahead of us that were already waiting for their beverages. Atmosphere is dark and uninviting as well as unclean at the time of service, counters and floors were sticky.
Mobile-ordered a banana bread and a latte in two transactions back to back while standing outside the store . Notifications came in that both orders are ready so I stepped in. Banana bread was there, but not the latte. I told the barista that I am waiting for a latte under the same name but she said that the bread is the only order they have for me. I explained that it was a separate order under the same name, but she still insisted sternly that they don’t have any other order under my name. In this interaction she seemed annoyed and was certainly unfriendly, not an ounce of compassion for the customer standing there confused as to what might have happened. She then started looking around and sure enough my latte was standing there on the side. There were maybe 3 or 4 other drinks on the counter, so really not busy at all. She uttered an apology and turned away. There was no hello or goodbye in all of this, even though I was the only customer in the store. The store itself has no chairs, inside or out, despite a location that would support it. To top it all off, my latte was only lukewarm but I didn’t even dare to go back in to ask them to correct it. This location is not even close to what I am accustomed to from Starbucks in terms of service.
I visited this store to pickup a mobile order, and the order was made in the wrong size. I informed the barista by showing them my mobile order, and the manager did not want to refund or correct the issue. What puzzles me is they offered an explanation as to why they made the drink smaller as the result of a modification I made, in which I asked for less syrup, and they said that means I would get a smaller size. They seemed very inconvenienced by me, when I in truth was inconvenienced by them, not to mention the order was completed almost 20 minutes after I placed it. They tried to process a refund, but couldn't figure it out so I left. I'm not sure why the employees here pay such little attention to detail and customer service, but it's the only Starbucks in Half Moon Bay, so I suppose they can get away with it.

Cashiers were rudely rushing us when we ordered and yelled to my mom that she's cannot use the restroom because allegedly 'they don't know if we have COVID and they are taking covid tests so only they can use it.' It's ridiculous and rude, I wanted to leave right away. They didn't even wear any masks. Any higher management should look into this, I've never seen anything like this, even in 2020.
I understand everything is slower with COVID 19. However, ordered one simple drink and only 6 people waiting for drinks, 25 minutes later i asked for my money back and left. There were a couple employees working but, not much getting done.
Ordered two grande blonde roasts. Had to wait for pour overs. No big deal. However, it took nearly 15 minutes with nobody waiting in the store, and we ended up getting tall coffees and being told "sorry, pour overs take a long time" as though I'm ignorant enough to not know how to make a pour over or how long it takes. I just set my coffee back down at the bar and left. What an embarrassment...
I ordered a few drinks and wanted to add a large ice water. But they tell you they cannot give you a large ice water. I said I would pay for it. So they charge me for a large e tea and hold the tea. Kinda ridiculous
These poor guys. The store is crowded and perpetually understaffed. It takes 20+ minutes for a coffee and they often run out of supplies. They try but honestly go to Peets across the road. Updated: still terrible
This is another inefficient Starbucks. Three employees, no urgency in their effort whatsoever. My husband and I both had time to go to the restroom (there was only one), and still had to wait for simple peach iced teas. There was one table of people already there with all their drinks and no one in front of us. Another Starbucks in the toilet.
No indoor tables and slow Wi-Fi… not a great place to get work done or catch up with friends. More of a grab-and-go operation. Baristas are OK but could use a refresher training on offerings since they supplied wrong information on drink ingredients and nutritional information.

This Starbucks has really gone downhill. The staff are friendly. I feel a tiny bit guilty complaining because they sincerely mean well… I’ve been a Starbucks goer for a couple decades and sometimes things go wrong. The temperature is too hot, the coffee tastes burnt, stuff happens. This staff is completely incompetent when it comes to all things coffee. I doubt they even drink it. I’ve had 3 coffees here since the new building remodel and both the experience and the coffee had been horrible. The staff are nice and yet treat me like I’m an idiot. This is not your last cal Starbucks. This is road kill coffee…. Sorry.
They used to be ok before they became a pick up only location. Now you have to wait while the manager ignores you to ask for your order since it is behind a huge plexiglass barrier. They take forever and are very rude. They also often get orders wrong. Go to granolas just down the street, it's a local cafe with great service and delicious coffee and food.
I'm a long-time Starbucks customer, abd this location has gone dramatically downhill over the past couple years. Customer service is non-existent ( including sending paying customers to surrounding businesses to use their restrooms), the wait time is ridiculous, and the place is filthy (empty the garbage, sometime).
Terrible location that took over 35 mins to get my 3 tea drinks. Staff did not make orders based on time placed but prioritized mobile orders leaving in store orders waiting extremely long periods. This caused customers to crowd the pick up area - ex: customers leaning over the clear divider talking over made waiting orders. Gross! When I asked for the women crowding the area to move so I could grab my order, staff did nothing to allow me to get my items in a clean manner. With 5 baristas on staff working, someone should have required customers to wait away from the extremely small pick up window.
From the beginning when the employee gave me a dirty unhappy disdainful look thought the window, too when I attempted to order a personalized drink I felt unwanted and uncomfortable. They were too busy putting away boxes which blocked everything. Pete's appreciated me and made me to feel welcomed
I visited this store on 5/26/20 and I placed an online order from the Starbucks app. I went to pick up my order and the door was locked. I saw employees sitting there so I waved at them to open the door. They just sat there and pointed to a sign that said it was closed. The order went to another store because this store was closed. I did not realize this when I placed the order. So, this was why I wanted them to open the door to let me know how I can cancel this order I placed or give me a phone number to call. They just sat there and kept on pointing at the close sign. This is such poor customer service. There are plenty of other coffee shops out there, so you should be better at good customer service. I will never go to Starbucks again.
Despite this listing, no dine-in is available. Additionally: Poor Service Poor Drink Consistency No place to sit Horrendous music playing No Restroom facility While claiming to have renovated, to focus on pickup only, that fact is not indicated anywhere in the Starbucks App. So, in addition to be a poorly operated store, it's inclusion in the nearby Starbuck's listings is highly misleading. This store does not reflect well on the Starbucks brand or franchise, much less my expectations and experience for decades with Starbucks.
Insanely slow service. I'd suggest going somewhere else if you don't have 20 min to spare just waiting for a latte (when the place is empty and there are 4 employees). They just leave the orders behind the glass and wait for costumers to ask for them. Why ask for our names if you're not going to call when the order is ready?
I want to start by saying usually I will review a restaurant after I've tried their food and dine there at least a couple times when I visited this Starbucks today Not only was I not greeted when I entered I still the counter trying to get somebody to take my order for a full 13 minutes during this time none of the employees even made eye contact with me ironically there was an employee but it seemed they were hiding in the back like they weren't doing anything other than just hanging in the back of the store in the employees only area it would have been one thing if I came in and after a couple minutes they said we will be with you shortly but I was literally ignored and ended up having to leave and not get service sort of a waste of my time and not great service for a multimillion-dollar company
Watered down drink. Asked for light ice and my cup was halfway filled with just ice. About 70% ice and 30% juice. Also paid 1.00 for 3 scoops of fruit and barely received any.
Sadly I keep coming to this store with the hope that there would be an improvement with the latte's that they serve. They have slowly gone from okay to mediocre and now sadly, this morning, unpalatable. The temperature was perfect but the espresso tasted like used coffee grinds. I'm glad if this hasn't been anyone else's experience but this is a major disappointment to pay so much for a treat that makes gas station coffee seem like gormet.
I am very unsatisfied and even though I work and vacation in this town, I will NOT be back to this starbucks, got my order wrong and didnt offer to cange or fix and also didnt offer a refund or to change it. They were obviously annoyed that I dared to ask. I am a regular customer of starbucks and spend a lot of money there on a day to day basis. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION. My paper cup was damaged at the top, so the lid did not fit snuggly, so my mocha dribbled over my good shirt. Not only was my shirt stained, but I had to stop traveling and park to finish my drink. I called the store, and they acknowledged they've been having this issue with many of their cups. So if they know about this issue, why don't they fix it?

Stood there with no one else in line in front of us... Another customer came up and made conversation with us... and the baustistas did not. Even when we got our coffees, when ready, that server didnt thank us, say hello or anything. Basically get your drink & get out... Should have searched out a local non franchise shop. Rude. At least the coffee was good....

Without a doubt this is the absolutely worst Starbucks I've ever been to. Service is ridiculously slow, even when you mobile order ahead. Staff is often just chatting and joking but, not working. Never going here again.
The store didn’t have a printed menu or a posted menu board for coffee items. They asked me to download the app to see the available menu options. Since when has an app become necessary to see menu items? Starbucks sure is going downhill fast.

I think the only thing keeping me from just going somewhere else completely is the Iced Sugar Cookie latte, but even then, I’m frequently let down. If I am paying an extra dollar for cold foam, and I specify that I’d like extra cold foam, I expect extra cold foam. Not a thin layer of bubbles to top my drink. I have the same issue with ordering extra toppings, frequently when I ask for “EXTRA” whatever, I’m not even given a standard amount. If I order a seasonal pumpkin chai I expect to get a chai. not a CUP OF MILK with pumpkin cold foam. I understand that it’s a busy location, and frankly I don’t blame the baristas for slacking off considering the conditions many Starbucks workers have been employed under. But if you’re compromising the COMPLETION of a product, and compromising on something a customer pays EXTRA for? Then I don’t think you should make the drinks so pricy. If you are not equipped to make a drink the way it was ordered, what’s the point. Disappointing.
