Opinions de Giovanni's II Hamilton
The people at Giovanni's, in Hamilton, went out of their way to help our family hold a nice wake for our matriarch. They have a large, private banquet room in the back for events, and a couple of dining rooms for the patrons. The food is wonderful, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. All of the employees were very kind and helpful. I highly recommend Giovanni's for your next banquet, or just a nice lunch or dinner!
Pizza is great! Taste like brick oven, not crazy greasy, really good stuff. BYOB a bottle of wine or six pack.
Love eating here when I come through town. The food is always good and hot. So far everything I've tried has been Awsome. Has a daily lunch special till 3pm. Friendly service.
Excellent pizza. Great price. Only downside was they were out of salad.
This was my first time dinning here. The food was great and the prices were in my range. The staff were helpful and friendly. Plan on returning.
We came in very late, 30 minutes to close so ate our salads and waited for our orders to be boxed for take out. I ordered the Aristocrat and mom, the Chicken Parmesan. Portions were very generous and delicious. We enjoyed them for lunch again today while snug in our house during a lovely snow day!
Great service reasonably priced menu items. Food was hot and delicious. Service was great.
Giovanni’s is very family-oriented, they provide friendly service, and offer great food for a good price. The Penne a la vodka, Black Forest cheesecake, and Italian cheesecake are truly exceptional. We will definitely be back!
We ordered the Stromboli and it was fantastic! Homemade with a delicious crust and filling of ham, sausage, pepperoni, onions, mushrooms, peppers, black olives and mozzarella cheese! Not to greasy or heavy! Perfect for lunch! The waitress was super nice too.
The food was great and do was the waitress. Try the stuffed mushrooms! They are delicious. I know some have had problems with staff but we did not. We had an enjoyable lunch. Thanks Giovannis! We will definitely be back.
My first time there but it won't be my last. Great menu, wide selection of all varieties of great Italian food. Service was excellent and the costs were perfect. Left greatly satisfied.
Stopped here close to closing time for them and they had great service! The food was awesome, angel hair with vodka sauce and meatballs is the way to go! The mergherita pizza was so flavorful! We will be here again when we travel through here!
Absolutely amazing dinner last night. Six in our party and every meal was top notch. The desserts were excellent and well worth the drive. We recommend this restaurant. Try the Cannoli 5 stars!
By chance found this place & had the absolute BEST chicken parmisan I've had in years!!!! Waitress was great! I will come back....& I live in Weatherford. The food & service was worth the drive & I will come back at least once every 2 months! YES! It's that good!
Fantastic Italian surprise in small-town Texas. The food here is way better than you would ever expect from a little family spot right off the highway in Hamilton. The Alfredo sauce is rich, flavorful, and easily rivals big-city Italian restaurants, and the meatballs were tender, well-seasoned, and absolutely exceeded expectations. Portion sizes were generous, and everything came out hot and fresh. The decor is pretty basic and nothing fancy, but the quality of the food more than makes up for it. It feels like the kind of place you go for a great meal, not for Instagram photos. What really stands out is that it’s clearly family-run, and everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming. Service was attentive without being pushy, and it made for a perfect stop while charging at the nearby Tesla supercharger. Highly recommend stopping here if you’re passing through Hamilton and want a surprisingly great Italian meal.
We visited here driving through town and were not disappointed. Really authentic type dishes and flavors. The lasagna was the table favorite. Very family friendly, easy parking and easy to find.
Stopped here while driving through. The food and service were terrific!! If I lived closer I’d be back, though I may have to Just make a road trip to eat it again!! Pictured is the delicious bread and the Neapolitan Ziti
Excellent food. The fettuccine alfredo was the best I have every had. Black forest cheesecake was yummy too. Must try! Portions are perfect for 1 person and reasonably priced.
Eggplant rollatini is the best anywhere I've eaten. The home made yeast rolls are extra flaky, and extra delicious!!!!! Pizza is also great!

Great food and customer service! Knowing how low staffed and packed they were tonight, the only waitress they had did and excellent job serving, taking care of her tables, and keeping a positive attitude! Props to the cooks as well, hot food, cold drinks, and the food was more than amazing! 10/10 recommend and I will definitely be coming back more often!
Second time here for take away and the food was really really good. The folks working were so nice and friendly. We ordered the meat lovers pizzas with all sorts of extras and it was perfect .
Seeing the outside of the building left us a little weary however it did not disappoint at all. We had garlic bread, garlic bread with cheese and jalapenos on top, spaghetti and a pizza. All was delicious! Not much to look at but the food is really good 😊

Great service reasonably priced menu items. Food was hot and delicious. Service was great.
2 of us had the spaghetti and our daughter whom we were meeting for lunch had the lasagna and it was all very good... The service was decent and it didn't take as long to get our food as it normally does.... but it's a shame that the owners don't care enough about the atmosphere or perhaps having a lunch menu or having specials during the week... There were only us and another table for lunch... That's pretty sad 😞
We're on road trip from RGV and heading to California. .tired of mexican and bbq brisket, we wanted something different. Stopped here for lunch although there were 2 cars there, and found that the food was delicious! My husband had angel hair spaghetti with meatballs and I had lasagna, both very tasty! For less than $20, we had great lunch! We will be back!
I was very surprised to find this great Italian restaurant while traveling for work. The food was outstanding, with large portions, and a reasonable price. I highly recommend the linguine with white clam sauce.
Great food. Pass by on my way to Dallas from Colorado Bend. A little disappointed I ordered a pizza that we have cheese and half meat lovers and I got two slices of meat lovers in the rest cheese. However, the pizza was great the lasagna was delicious we had fried cheese sticks and they were good and the service was very very friendly. I will definitely stop back here again
When you enter this little restaurant you wonder what you are in for. There are a few people eating and I was told about the house dressing is pretty good. I would have to agree it’s a tomato vinaigrette and balanced nice on the salad. It could be that it is post covid but the straws were paper. So didn’t bother using them. The main dish I got was the shrimp Diablo and it got a good spice and the pasta was great. The others people in my party got the antipasta salad while others got the triple pasta and lasagna. Now there was a bit of a complaint that it took a while for the forks to arrive but with it being post covid and there was only one girl who was busting her tail. So that’s over looked by me.

server wasn't perfect, but very nice and more than made up for it.
Stopped here for lunch on the way to LBJ ranch. It's a quaint place, bit off the path. The ladies were great with service. The pizza was pretty good as well. Not as fancy as a restaurant but great place for a quick lunch. There was a decent crowd. Worth a visit if you're in the area.

Spent way to long in the drive through due to the man at the window stood gossiping then walked off ! I had to push the door bell button to get help.
Really good portion size so that’s a plus BUT bleeding gums, not so fun… I had the chicken Marsala on Angel Hair pasta! The mushrooms were cooked to perfection and the dark wine reduction sauce was good in flavor. The chicken is just a very THIN SLICE of chicken, not a chicken breast my any means. There was entirely too much THYME Seasoning in the dish. I couldn’t enjoy the dish because each bite was full of so many pieces of large prickly sticks of Thyme, it made the dish overpowering and difficult to enjoy because you’re constantly pulling/spitting out what feel like little sticks out of your teeth/gums. See photos. If the Thyme wasn’t so heavy I would give this dish 4 out of 5 but it overpowered the entire dish. This was my first time eating at this restaurant, I will give it another chance!

Food is pretty good. Building is run down we ate there while the car was on the charger across the street

Very poor service. Waitress could barely speak English and she was by italian! No towels in ladies, told waitress and she said "yeah so" and walked off. Food was average only. Bread was hard. Lampasas beats the pants off this one.
I want to say, first of all, that the food is usually pretty good and the staff is attentive and friendly, this is the only reason I am giving 2 stars. My kids and husband love the pizza and their alfredo sauce is top notch. But tonight they lost my business permanently. I found something brown, that looked like cardboard, in my salad. After telling the waitress, she apologized and went on the three next customer. She didn't offer to get me another salad, which I would have refused because there is no telling if whatever it was would be in the rest of the salad. And when we got the check there was nothing taken off for the "mistake" made. There was no attempt to make out right at all. I have never had an experience like this at any restaurant and hope I never will again!
First the good: Terrific meatball sub, and the closest thing to a New Jersey pizza pie anywhere around the area. However... they are terribly inconsistent with being open per their stated hours. One can never know whether they will be open or not, which can not possibly be good for business. Fortunately, there is a Subway across the street.
Do not recommend. Restaurant was empty. Was not waited on or an uncomfortablely long time. heard a small child crying and sneezing in the kitchen. Food was edible but not seasoned at all. Pasta bowl was half empty for 25 bucks
UPDATED Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice… dad gum it Mike. Are you a glutton for punishment? I went ahead and gave Giovanni’s a second shot today. My earlier review is below. Though the meal was somewhat better and there was more food than the last time, I won’t be ordering from them again. The price vs. the quality was way out of whack. It’s still a 2 Star review this time too. Dang it. I hate giving people bad reviews but I can’t not give it since it was so far below par. To begin with, the lady who took my order was wonderful. She was nice, attentive and quick. My food was to go. So I sat at the table and waited. I probably only had to wait 3-4 minutes before she brought my food out and I hopped in my truck and drove the mile or so to the house. I immediately sat down to eat and my food was cold, soggy, the sauce was watery and I t had way too much salt in it. Worst of all was there was no more than 15 tortellini. So even had it been good, there wasn’t enough food to satisfy a six year olds hunger. What’s sad is I had eaten there a couple of years ago and I thought it was great. Normally I give a place who scores low a second shot in case they had an off night. But I don’t think I will this time based on the amount of food I was served. Even had it been good, it wouldn’t have been worth the price I paid.

Was in town for a rodeo and thought we’d try something different in town. Was very unimpressed. Very very run down to say the least, food was not good either (my daughter order the chicken Parmesan and it was more like fried chicken with spaghetti sauce, the salad was so watery the dressing wouldn’t even stick, we ordered fried mushrooms and the batter was almost stale tasing where It was so chewy). The waitress was very sweet, but when we went out to pay they said their credit card machine was down so if you didn’t have cash, had to go find an atm and come back to pay. Their Pizzas looked good, and would maybe order a pizza to go, but the atmosphere and condition of the restaurant was not good.
One of the most bizarre dining experiences that I have ever had. The taste of the food was generally good. A few things were really good. Everything came out of the kitchen, one item at a time. Often really far apart. Several items were just not made. The ticket was not itemized. We had to ask for refills. We were there an hour and a half amd much of it was waiting on them to bring is food.

Food was good. Service was awful. Waiter brought a two year olds drink in a cup with no lid. We asked for a cup with lid, he told the other waitress who stated they should have been more specific. REALLY???? They continued to talk about us during our entire meal. Never asked if we needed anything else. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Will not be returning.
Website says closes at 6pm, sitting outside in the car at 3:50 pm, sign say open, lights are bright, workers walking around in restaurant. They look outside, see me sitting there and they turn out the lights, lock the door and close the business. Thanks for nothing! You saw me getting out of the vehicle, guess they were tired from working!
Mistreated by waitresses cook emypolles. I had a highly allergic reaction to there food today. Nothing was done about it. I used my card to pay for dinner and used cash for tip, got charge on my card 20% tip. I didn't ask for that to happen.
Please update your hours! It's frustrating when it says you are open, only to get there and it's closed.
None of the staff wear masks- not even the cooks. (Yes, you can see them from the counter where you pay.) They forgot all of the toppings on the pizza for our takeout order and don't allow social distancing, but hey, I hear they serve up a 67% chance of contracting a virus that could kill your grandma. Probably worth the risk, eh?
Definitely not returning here. It took 20 minutes just to get our drinks because they had to go get more ice. Obviously they were under staffed because it took another 10 minutes to get silverware after our food arrived because they didn't have any clean utensils. While the waitress was extremely nice, the food was mediocre. And to top it all off, they have a sign in between the restrooms stating not to flush toilet paper. 🤨
Worst experience I’ve had. We ordered sodas that were flat and then asked for teas. The waitress ended up catching an attitude with us the whole time. She wouldn’t give us any refills. We ordered salads that we didn’t eat because the bowls were filled with water. It took over an hour and a half to get our meals, which ended up being cold. We went to pay for our meals on separate tickets and the cashier ended up charging one individual for ALL of our meals after we had told her that certain parts of our party have already paid, and her and the owner of the store refused to listen. We were told they weren’t going to do anything about it because they were short staffed and DIDNT HAVE TIME to fix there mistakes, mind you they weren’t busy when we went. (Our party consisted of 10 people)
We were the only people in entire restaurant the entire time. Two waitresses were there. We were seated at small booth even though there were many tables available. There was not enough room for food to be placed. We had to put our food on booths behind us in order to eat. We had to request additional plates. Two plates given to us instead of 4. Water brought instead of lemonade ordered. Bathroom not clean. Service was HORRIBLE. Food was not good. Requested to see manager before we left. Manager would not come up. Will not return to this place.
They are not open when they say they are and/or don't answer the phone for togo orders. Service is extremely slow no matter what it's Always slow.
Bad smell in whole restaurant, salad brown and watery, they were out of 2/3 items we tried to order, air vents and ceilings dirty appearance. Other tables were left uncleaned for duration of our wait. Waited over an hour for our food. Should have left or never come.
I rarely write a negative review but what a disgusting dive! We thought we were entering a hole in the wall with delicious Italian food. Oh No! the lights are dim for a reason and it's not for the ambience! First, went to wash my hands - no soap or paper towels. I ordered the lasagna dinner for $10.99 with a salad and rolls. Out comes the salad, I pulled my fork out of the rolled napkin, tossed around the salad and took a bite. Took another bite and realized the fork was really rough on my lips. Ohmygosh! I gagged as I noticed the dried food covering my fork, the whole fork! The waitress was not surprised, she just took my food away without offering me a new salad (I would have said no, it was just chopped iceberg lettuce with watery blue cheese dressing) The Lasagna looked good with the baked cheese but underneath, it was very watery, more like tasteless lasagna soup. I had to ask for rolls, the rolls were good but we only got one each. When I went to pay, I did not tip as it was the worst dinning experience I have ever had! We were on a road trip, all paying separately, their experience was horrific as well yet they tipped minimum; it was my first time not to tip, I just couldn't due to the way they handled my disgusting find, etc. I'm not even telling the whole story. The best part of the service was taking away my food. I was not going to write this post until I realized they added the tip themselves. We didn't eat much and felt quizzy for a while after leaving there! 🤮
