Poké Prince

I have been on a hunt for poke in the past year in Southern California. I’ve been to many establishments in Orange County, LA, San Diego, and Long Beach. While not my hunt has not yet ended, I must acknowledge that this place is my favorite thus far. The portion size is extremely generous in comparison to other establishments. Highly recommend the Spicy OG tuna, it always hits. Also, recently tried the scallops and was really impressed, very delicious and unique. Last but not least, the service has been incredible. They were out of Salmon one day and gave me a Large bowl for the price of a medium as a courtesy. Don’t pass this place up if you’re on hermosa beach and looking for something healthy, delicious and filling.

We happen to be in the area and my son chose this place to have dinner at. The food tasted really good and fresh, I need to comeback and have their raw seafood, I was only able to have the shrimp since I’m currently pregnant. My son did have the raw salmon and he really enjoyed it. Services was good and quick, I currently have no complaints, I would 100% recommend this place to anyone, the flavor of the sauces was very delicious.

First time trying poke bowls, and we liked it a lot. The guy that was serving me was very helpful and friendly. Definitely worth going here. Plus the beach is minutes from there.

I love the poke. They always give me little tastes and have some new fresh ideas. They overload the veggies and don’t over charge you. I have gone back 5 times! Absolutely recommend.

I’m pretty honest when it comes to reviews and I rarely write a bad one, but my experience here was horrible. With one person in front of me, I waited ten minutes just to place my order. The fish I got wasn’t fresh at all and tasted old. They also weren’t stocked up on a few of the side items, which just shows a lack of preparedness (keep in mind, I came at 6pm on a Sunday) Plus, it was overpriced for what I had received. The most shocking part of it all was when the guy in front of me asked if he could exchange his drink for another drink because he didn’t like how it tasted. Normally a business would do this without any problem, but Pokebar would not. They instead awkwardly asked him if he wanted to buy a new drink or if he was asking for a free drink. Seriously, why would he want to buy another drink??! They ended up giving him a new drink, but put it in one of the tiny free water cups. That’s ridiculous. The staff is undertrained with a lack of customer service.

Yesterday I got overcharged for a small and the food was not fresh, the person behind the counter didn’t seem to have a clue what was even going on. I had 3 bites and gave them back the food. Way too many other good poke out there. Don’t waste your time or money here.

Nice people. The Largest Poke left me still Hungry. Crab meat had no flavor, Ponzu was sugary sweet, not the refreshing flavors you want from a Poke. Atmosphere in the store doesn’t live up to expectations set by the neighborhood surrounding it.

Just went there and ordered a thai iced tea. After waiting about 15 minutes as they served the family ahead of us, we ordered a thai iced tea. As the more aged guy made the thai iced tea, he filled up the cup with ice... a lot of ice. It was overflowing with ice. He then put the thai iced tea in there and was struggling with the ice and milk addition. We made the comment that THAT is just waaaay too much ice. He then started to remove the ice and gave up. He created a new drink with less ice and presented it to us. When we got it, it had gross little white chunks from the powder creamer he used. Who uses powder creamer on thai iced tea? It is normally with evaporated milk or normal milk. Powdered? And then he said it is because he was rushing and couldn't mix it properly. Well, he should not serve something unless it is ready to be served. I had already paid for this so I asked for a refund. The guy then pretended to give the refund and provided the receipt. I returned after realizing he tried to dupe me and said that the receipt didn't say anything about a refund. And then he processed it again, quickly and correctly, and looked at me with a blank face. No apologies. Nothing. Very disappointed. It was a clean place, nice and airy... but the lack of customer service really made this experience so disappointing. I enjoy supporting local businesses... but not when they suck.

After eating my meal: -the rice was hard and crunchy (not sticky and warm) so you know that it is old -fish wasn't cold and fresh -as a local, I'm tempted to call in the health department to check in on their practices

Truly the worst Pokebowl I’ve ever had. Rice was hard and not fresh at all, the server scooped the protein like he had to pay himself for each piece he put in the bowl, tuna was tasteless and hard. With regard to the toppings, there is hardly any choice. In the end, the price I had to pay did not match their prices displayed. The server told me they needed to adjust the boards but hadn’t done that yet. Should have just walked out, definitely not worth the money, never had such an unfresh tasteless pokebowl.
