Opinions de Proudly Serving Hermosa Beach
Everything was very dope, the perfect lunch +drinks after the beach
Proudly Serving delivers delicious American fare in a casual atmosphere. Their juicy, duck-fat-cooked smash burgers are the star of the show, and perfectly complement their crispy, fluffy tater tots. Don't miss the creative topping options! While the space is small, the friendly staff provides quick service. Be prepared for a wait during peak hours, but it's definitely worth it for this Hermosa Beach gem.
Stopped here for dinner on a very rainy night and it was the perfect antidote. Burger has fantastic, tots were crisp and hot, employees were fun and efficient. Wish I lived closer, would eat there all the time.
My absolute favorite local burger place in the Southbay area. I have been going to this place since they were in Redondo and I’m so happy to see them open their own location. The PS burger is my favorite and the fries are always great. Highly recommend skipping your usual in an out and trying this place!
I’ve waited *patiently* since the day I saw the paint go up for Proudly Serving, chasing them around the numerous South Bay popups… This place is no joke. I seriously consider this one of the best burgers, if not the best, in LA. Smash burgers cooked to perfection, same with fries and tots, and it’s absolutely BOMB 💣 🔥
Moved to Hermosa from the East Coast earlier this year and stumbled upon the Proudly Serving original location and immediately fell in love with their burgers. 6 months later and they moved down the block from me! Matt the owner is a super genuine guy and the genius behind the recipe. Max the natural wine connoisseur is a gem. So excited to have the best burgers I’ve ever had in my life down the block from me! Welcome to Hermosa 🥂
Delicious food, drinks and very friendly staff. They are like a beachside Cheers. Highly recommended!
The burgers did not have a chance and honestly should have ordered two!! I got the Pastrami Burger and it was the best one I’ve ever had! Chili cheese fries were bomb as well!!
Perfectly chill spot with amazing burgers and casual vibe. Craft beer and wine are also available. We can’t wait to come back again soon.
If you find yourself in Hermosa Beach, do yourself a favor and stop by "Proudly Serving." This gem is a burger lover's paradise, where the burgers are so delicious they might just peel your muffin cap back! Each bite is an explosion of flavor, with juicy patties cooked to perfection and topped with fresh ingredients that elevate the experience to another level. The staff here truly enhances the dining experience. They are friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making sure you enjoy your meal. You'll feel right at home as they guide you through the menu, ensuring you don’t miss out on any of their mouthwatering options. And let's not forget about the drinks! They have a fantastic selection of beer on tap, perfect for washing down those incredible burgers. After indulging in your meal, take a short stroll to the beach, which is just a stone's throw away. Whether you’re craving a satisfying burger or looking to kick back with a cold one, "Proudly Serving" is the perfect spot to enjoy the best of Hermosa Beach!
I’d heard of this place for a while now but haven’t had the chance to stop in until yesterday. Worth the hype. The smash burger with chili was awesome, nice spice and great char on the burger. The fries were the crispiest I’ve had in a very long time, I wish I’d gotten a second order lol. JW and Leah are excellent ambassadors for the South Bay and PS. Good atmosphere, tasty food, great people to represent. JW, we will be back ☺️
Order at counter… sat on table on side walk… great people watching..at the beach Great location… Burgers are yummy and cooked to perfection..wouldn’t change anything..
This place is literally top tier - best burgers you will ever have, excellent local beers and wine. Staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Claudia, Bilal, Dave, Lea, Lucy, Fun, JW they are so great that I remembered their names and I never remember names. Stop debating coming here and just do it. You will come back regularly.
These burgers are so good! Amazing smash burger with the option to make it spicy by adding jalapenos. The duck fat fries are fantastic but I'm glad the two of us shared one as they're quite rich. There's a decent amount of seating but we still had to wait a few minutes to find an available seat. There is a restroom. Loved the vibe. Their beer selection looked good and if we hadn't been driving home an hour, I would have liked to have had one. At 6pm on a Saturday they quoted us 40-45min for the burgers but we got them in about 20, which was a nice surprise.
Second to none, the “BEST” Burger I’ve ever experienced. The fries and tots simply awaits for you to dip in the “special sauces”. Claudia and Fun made the experience inviting and and engaging wihich I encourage you to visit “Proudly Serving” burgers at 110 Second St ; Redondo Beach✔️
Great vibes, friendly servers, definitely a local spot. I got the pastrami burger, duck fat fries and duck fat tots. The burger was the perfect portion and held together nicely and the fries and tots were the right crisp on the outside while soft on the inside.
Delicious budget and killer fries and tots. I recommend skipping their sauce so that you can really taste the meat. Sitting out back gives a Caribbean beach shack vibe ❤️
Proudly Serving in Hermosa Beach is an absolute gem that blends old-school nostalgia with top-tier burger craftsmanship. From the moment you step in, you’re welcomed by a fun 80’s vibe—complete with a Flux Capacitor from Back to the Future and vintage Simpsons pinball machines. It’s a local spot that feels both retro and refreshing. The customer service is fantastic, giving off friendly neighborhood burger joint energy. Everyone is welcoming, and if you’re unsure about the wine selection, don’t hesitate to ask for a sample before you commit. The beer and wine bar area makes it easy to kick back and enjoy the laid-back atmosphere. For sports fans, the covered patio with a large projector is a prime spot to catch the big game while indulging in some serious comfort food. Now, let’s talk about the food—because it’s the real star here. The burgers are Oklahoma-style, meaning they’re packed with grilled onions, seared into the patty to maximize flavor. It’s not quite a smash burger, but it’s perfectly cooked, juicy, and topped with their own special sauce that ties everything together beautifully. The fries? Absolutely spectacular—thick-cut, perfectly seasoned, and fried to crisp perfection with a lightly battered crunch. And no matter which dipping sauce you choose, you can’t go wrong. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Proudly Serving is a must-visit. Great food, great vibes, and a nostalgic atmosphere that makes for an all-around memorable experience. Highly recommend!
This is the first time I've been to this place and I loved it; the burgers are like homemade.
One of my sons is doing a Burger Blog and is taking it very seriously. I found this place despite living in the South Bay for 5 years. We were all shocked. My burger blogging son gave his PS burger a 9.35, which is a deliciously good rating. My husband gave it a 9+ out of 10. My other son had the pastrami burger and although he really enjoyed it, he would order the PS burger next time. The fries were literally ranked top 4 ever. And all my boys don’t love “thick” fries but these get the exception. Service was great! In and out (no pun intended) in 25 mins! We will be back!
Great food and very friendly staff. The PS burger was very tasty and filling. The fries were AMAZING. Crispy and soft at the same time. The food came out very quick. They have some tasty milkshakes too. We were very happy to find this spot. The only complaint we had was how loud the music was and the music had quite a bit of profanity and sexual themes even with children eating there. Great food and experience 👍
We went on a Sunday around noon and ordered - Pastrami Burger - PS Burger - Brunch Burger - Chill Burger - Fries Pretty good experience overall, one little issue… there was a huge order spike from the online orders which caused a dramatic delay. The estimated wait was 25 minutes but we got our food around an hour and ten minutes of waiting. They provided free drinks during the wait. They also stopped online and in-person orders during that time to catch up. The food was all good but the PS Burger was absolutely amazing and the fries (this is for the basic fries, not the loaded fries) were one of the best I’ve had. I will absolutely return for those two items specifically. For the PS Burger, the smash patties had some good heft, they were not paper thin like some smash burger spots, the cheese was thick, the ratios were very solid. Seating is a bit of a challenge (first come, and very limited) and so is the parking. That shouldn’t stop you from trying this spot if you’re a smash burger fan.
Love the ambiance- casual and cool, and importantly for us, kid friendly. It's counterservice so I only gave it 4 stars for that piece of it. The burgers were rated as "okay" by the kids in our group but apparently they didn't have that "wow factor". The other kids in our group did not finish their food- I don't know if they're picky eaters or weren't hungry but we had a lot of leftovers. Wish they had more menu offerings but overall it was a decent experience. As we were leaving, a woman was setting up DJ equipment which looked like it would be a really fun casual vibe.
I’ve been eating these burgers quite literally from the first ones being served up in the owners driveway pop ups during Covid. I’ve really enjoyed watching Proudly Serving grow into what it is today and it’s a testament to Matt, his staff, and of course his delicious smash burger & fries. His new Hermosa Beach location is a popular place so if you’re coming during peak hours be patient and order a great craft beer or delicious natural wine.
Sweet burgers. Dope vibe. Awesome scene. Definitely a burger spot I would eat weekly if I was a local. Great flavor, sauce, and smash technique. Thanks for making a great experience of the modern smash burger. Buns were also perfect.
Best burger in the South Bay. The potato bun is soft and is way better than it looks. Service was really friendly and genuine. They also have rotating niche wines and beers. This is our new, favorite burger joint in our area.

Remains one of, if not the best smash burger in LA. Really nice beers on tap too.

This place is Amazing! Best burger ever, no complaints! The burgers are perfectly seasoned and the grilled onions and soft bun topped it off. Don’t forget to try the chocolate milkshake. The customer service was beyond my expectations with this being my first visit. Definitely will return on my next trip to Cali. You guys should open up in Nashville! Fun and Claudia made me feel at home. Definitely recommend trying the great establishment. 😊
So, the food here is very reasonably priced for what it is, the burgers are kind of small but every ingredient in this place is high quality and I can really appreciate that. I’ll be honest, the burgers don’t blow my socks off, but every other item here is phenomenal. The fries are 10/10 and a not so popular item the ps fries is easily my favorite menu item. Highly recommend this place!
Stopped by today for their anniversary menu specials and everything was top tier as always. Everyone always hypes up other smash burger spots in LA, but PS is at the top of my list. They don’t slack in any category…all the way down to the sauces. The burger is one thing, but the duck fat fries and malt vinegar aioli are exceptional. The beach is right across the street so it’s hard for the vibes to not be elite. Cheers to 2 years, $2.00 burgers, and $2.00 beers 🍔 🍻 🤙🏾
Place is new to me, but I loved it. Quick service and good food. My only complaint would be the lack of variety with the beers: they had two IPAs and a lager... but even the beer they selected was from decent breweries and was delicious 😋 🍻
Great neighbor spot. We love stopping here for a burger and tater tots during our evening walks with the dog along the beach. They have some wine options, and the burgers are above average. The tater tots are great and I love them with chili cheese sometimes.

I was craving a greasy burger and my friends told me that I had to try this place. I got the PS burger and we split an order of chili cheese fries. The melted cheese and onions in the burger were amazing. Cravings satisfied! I liked that the fries were crispy and didn't get too soggy quickly. The chili was pretty good. Seating is pretty limited so we just ended up eating in our car.
If you like lots of meet meer and cheese you will love it. I find that burger needs to be balanced with some nice ingredients. Beer was ok. Some band was playing so the tried and asked people to leave. If the artist would be more cool he would enjoy any additional guest that are left at the bar...
The food here is fantastic — I’ve been in several times and always enjoyed it. That said, my last visit was disappointing due to the customer service. I waited in line, but another customer was helped before me despite me being there first. When I asked, the response was dismissive, and when I picked up my order, there was no acknowledgment or courtesy. For $25 for two small burgers (without fries or extras), I expect not only good food but also to feel appreciated as a customer and supporter of a small local business. I hope this was just an off day, because the food really is great.

I came in last night around 7:20pm. I had ordered 2 milkshakes. One of the employees brought out one milkshake and then about 10 minutes later, the second one was brought out. It took 40 minutes to receive my complete order. I think that is completely unacceptable and such a waste of time. I understand it can get busy, but to take 40 minutes to receive two milkshakes, and to receive them within 10-15 minutes of each other is wild. Communication with customers is key.

I enjoy the food, but they consistently seem to lose or forget my order (watch dozens of orders go out that were taken after mine), or undercook grilled cheese (more of a toasted bread with unmelted cheese experience). Burgers are good, but the experience is just generally bad enough that I refuse to go there anymore.
I came here based on a friend’s recommendation and ordered the PS Burger. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype. The cheese tasted cheap, and the bread was low quality. Overall, the burger was nothing special and definitely overpriced for what I got.
Got Uber eats. Great turnaround time. Aussie visiting USA and was looking forward to this living up to thee country that does it best! Unfortunately this was such an underwhelming experience, dissapointing small, lacking flavour burgers that leave a greasy film on the roof of your mouth. Had to add own sauce to get any flavour. Chili cheese fries sauce was too salty for all three of us and the fries were greasy and underwhelming. Our friend got 5 Guys at the same and the burger was so much better in every way, sorry guys 🤷♂️
We looked for a burger place to visit before our flight because Burgers Never Say Die was closed so we chose this one based on a tiktok video to try it out . Food was ok , but customer service is horrible. We walked in and noticed others were greeted but not us . Girl on counter ignored us till we got close to order and she was rushing us . Seemed like racist to us or not sure why we were being treated differently than others . Bad experience made our food not so great . Our order was wrong and when we brought it up to the waiter he politely brought the correct burger out and apologized . Totally different attitude than the cashier taking orders . She was a Caucasian younger lady .
