My husband and I stopped by to get two three piece catfish dinners around 9:49 pm. The fish was hot and on point. This location has a dream team on staff. It is evident that the staff works well together. Very consistent, precise and timely service. The manager Jacob treated me with the utmost respect, had a smile on his face and recommended many items off the menu. He even asked me how my day was going! Another staff member named Spencer came out to my table and asked if he could refill my drink. I’m happy to see such pride in his actions. This kind of service is why I am a repeat customer! Keep up the good work Chicken Express!

Korey Hardy is an AMAZING Customer Service representative! He was clear, articulate, great attitude, professional, polite and went the extra mile. He was working the drive through at lunch rush and not only did he quickly help me Choose what I wanted, be he offered me options for upsell, like dessert. I am absolutely impressed and he alone made my experience worth it. The fish was good, sides were ok, we didn’t get the roll, but Korey and his smile made it all great. It’s so hard to find employees who care anymore. Korey is an asset and made my experience GREAT!

I moved to Colorado and truly miss great restaurants. I've been hunting for a good chicken restaurant and found nothing close. The first place I went to the first week back in Texas was Chicken E's. I lived on chicken for three days straight. Everyone has their favs, mine is the fried chicken & okra. The kids love the chicken strips & corn nuggets. Their meals continue to be generous and high quality, which is saying a lot today. Oh, their tea is great too. The only negative is that now I'm hungry and they're not not open right now! I know what I be havin tomorrow. I highly recommend you try it soon because you'll be a fan too.

I had one of the best drive through experiences today. The order taker was upbeat and friendly. He asked questions and upsold. He was polite. When I actually got to the window he smiled and made a terrific impression. First time in a while that I have been through a drive-through and my order be correct. I let him know that the experience made my whole day and that I would be leaving a review of my experience.

I'm a frequent visitor to Chicken Express and have never had any issues but I have to say this one really went above and beyond on customer service. The young man behind the counter was pleasant, had amazing manners and overall an amazing demeanor. The food was delicious as always and the overall atmosphere just contributed to my pleasant experience. I definitely will be returning. Keep up the good work!

This is by far my favorite Chicken Express location. The staff are always friendly and helpful; And the food is great! When ordering the fish they always communicate the wait time due to the need to cook them fresh. This is much appreciated. The store is quiet and clean making it quite a nice little sit down spot. On top of all this, their hours are prominently displayed, mentioning that their lobby closes at 8pm (an hour before officially closing). This is another small amenity that makes this location the best in town! Their communication leaves no questions.

Everyone. I chose chicken Tenders today. They are Awesome. The role and gravy are like home made. I chose the Cole slaw. Customer service is excellent. I need to visit more often.

Can't begin to tell you how many times this has happened. No roll or biscuit. Everyone wants a paycheck, but nobody does their jobs. Embarrassed for them..... Update, I really like chicken express but this will be my last time going to this one. The ONLY thing that was hot were the spicy tenders they just finished cooking, everything else was old and cold. I don't know if it's a management issue or the owners who just don't care.

First time trying this place out. Service was great, food overall was actually really good. They have their own style. The mashed potatoes are good, but the gravy definitely stood out. There's the option for a biscuit or a bread roll. Highly suggest the roll. Corn on a cob tho... Not so great... Sweet tea is on point. Definitely worth trying. Place could use some tlc but nothing that would discourage from going back.

They changed the fries they’ve had for like 10+ years to these crinkle fries that are good, but not AS good as the old fries. I went there just to get fries and gravy for a snack for the fam and was disappointed in the change. Just glad they were still decently good

I feel bad giving this place a four star review, because the food was great, as well as the service, but the place is over run by sweaty middle school kids after school that use it as a waiting area/playground. They were very loud and obnoxious to the point where a staffmember had to come out and tell them to calm down and said that he had to do it every day. I feel bad for the employees there.

I always love ordering fried pickles and Freddy's and chicken express are the only fast food chains I know that make them. Love chicken express and love Freddy's. I've only ever visited once at this chicken express, but the staff was friendly and the drive thru was fairly quick.

Chicken tenders and chicken breasts are really good. Sides usually miss and getting a family fry was just a soft soggy carton of oil tonight.

The chicken strips are normally not that great. The catfish was good. This location is typically hit or miss on quality.

Good chicken tenders and chicken and fries, but if you ask for anything besides that, you have to wait for 10 to 15mins for them to cook it for you. Annoying. They have really good gizzards, but can't ever get em when in a hurry. Kinda disappointing.

I feel like a Chicken Express "connoisseur". Maybe today they were having a bad day. Chicken stripes did not taste fresh and french fries were cold😭. Only thing good was the roll and store bought gravy. Maybe next time🐓

Absolutely appalling how I was treated by the manager after I came back with my meal. I understand places saving money, but I was served cold, old chicken tenders. My gravy was watery and my cheese sticks (2) were fried bread and solid mozzarella in the middle. Wasn't even melted. Be wary if your chicken tastes off, its most likely hours and hours old. What's worse is I call the Corporate owner and have yet to get a call back. I didn't get my money back until I opened my Snapchat and IG livefeed and blast the guy of social media about how much of a prick he was and calling out his bad service ...only THEN did he give me my money. Told me to leave or he'll call the police (ONLY REASON ITS GETTING 3 NOW IS BECAUSE JOSH(MAIN GUY) CALLED BACK AND WAS SUPER BADASS AND FIXED MY PROBLEM)

They can't get it right ever!! The manager is rude and incompetent. Potatoes were cold. I asked for 2 white meal dinners, only had one breast so I asked for liver dinner instead after already paying. Don't go to this establishment. Not sure if other locations are any better run. HV location has let me down 3 times now, no more!

The fish was over fried and the chicken a little salty. The service was outstanding and we got the food fast, but that may be why it wasn’t very good. The side dishes were good though. We had Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and coleslaw.

Usually I give them a five star. But this last time I went and I got my order wrong and gave me the wrong items so they didn’t get a five star this time I apologize. The food was hot. The service was fast, but I did get the wrong items. I did call the manager and he offered to replace it the following day buddy also said that he was having too many mistakes that day.

Fried greasy over breaded chicken. Mostly batter chicken strips. Fluffy rolls and regular French fries.

Had to wait in the drive-thru over 10 minutes for dark meat chicken then the order was incorrect when we got it. Waiting is not a problem but when chicken is all that you do running out at noon is not good.

The ‘’manager” told me I wasn’t allowed to order 7 meals for my family. He was the “nice” manager so he did it anyways because it’s a sale. but all the other managers would turn me down because I needed to order ahead. This was followed by an obvious disgruntled employee who didn’t want to make 7 #1’s. Awful customer service. So essentially if you have a family of more than I don’t know I guess 4 then don’t eat here because they will tell you how you were wrong for ordering a meal that feeds 7 and how you need to plan in advance. Sorry but business doesn’t work that way and I’m so sorry I made you all do extra work today. But don’t worry me & my family won’t come back. Hope this reaches the next large family where you can go to any other fried chicken location and be taken care of with graceful attitudes and mentalities. “Can’t order 7 meals” RIDICULOUS MANAGEMENT

Decent food. But they are notorious for forgetting items you have pre-ordered & paid for. Just go through the drive thru & wait the extra 5-10 minutes for your order.

The larger guy with the red beard that took our order in the drive thru was extremely rude. when we ordered 18 rolls his comment was it might take a while. When we got to the window our order was reader and we said is this -8 rolls he said that’s what you ordered. I don’t think he likes his job!

Ordered a full meal with extra sides. My food was cold; I politely asked for my food to be made fresh. Considering the price and how hard we work for our money… they took my food that had already been bitten from and threw it back in the fryer.. so the already cold food was now rock hard.. will not be returning

Not sure what's going on at this store, but it isn't good. Went by for lunch yesterday - sign on the doors said that the lobby closes at 8pm but both doors were locked. Decided to try the drive-thru, even though there was a long line. When we finally got to order, we were informed that there would be a 15 minute wait for chicken. Nope - we went elsewhere.

Several times I've shown up around 7:00 and the lobby is already locked. The people behind the counter will ignore us knocking on the doors. There are no hours posted on the door for the lobby either put 7:00 seems a bit early for a restaurant to close their dining room. although I prefer Chicken Express I'm going to go to canes which is just a few blocks down the road.

The chicken and gizzards were good as normal but the gravy was so thin that I actually thought it was water that had been strained off the gravy. Have never seen anything watered down so much that you were left with only water….

This place is in close proximity to where I live so I have tried it three times. On the first try they had me pull forward and then forgot about my order. On the second try they got my order wrong in the drive-thru and I did not realize they put the wrong meal and pieces into my order. On the third try I was in the drive-thru and when it came time to order by pieces they said they did not have them and and it would be 15 minutes for more chicken to be ready. The business plan for this restaurant is that you can select the pieces that you want, if they select them for you then it is not in their business plan and you are not getting what you paid for. Again not sure why a restaurant that serves chicken does not have or frequently does not have chicken?

We have purchased the family meals a couple of times and every time something is missing. The last time the legs looked more like wing joints. No more chances for this location.

Bought some sides tonight for my at home meal, mistakes were made, I honestly didn't know anyone could mess up on fried pickles... I got friend pickles, breading tastes weird, and the pickles were dry and tasteless.... I wonder if the manager there has any taste buds, this isn't the first time this place had weird/bad tastes.... Always leaving items out of to go orders. Managers are not trained well enough in customer service. I was literally told "we are too busy to check to see if orders are correct". They simply just don't care and they are transparent about that.

I placed an UBer eats oder and they did not include my gravy for the two family sides I ordered. When I called to complain they blamed it on the UBER drive. I ordered from Chicken Express, Uber is just the pick up person. It is Chicken Express responsibility to make sure oder is correct not pick up person. I'm tired of ordering out and the delivery person is being blamed when it is the Restaurants responsibility to make sure the order is correct.

Every time I've been here, I have went out of my way just to ask for fresh food. It's just not worth the effort to pay a premium all things considered. Just to find out that if I want warm or fresh fries, chicken, or corn nuggets, etc.... I have to speak up😒😒 I can say that the management is lacking and the quality control needs real WORK

Ordered in drive through and while waiting in line my daughter needed to use the restroom. I got out and left my wife in the drive through line and went to the front door with my 2 year old daughter. waited patiently by the front door because it was locked but no one came. a truck that had been in the drive through pulled up and told me that he mentioned to the drive through worker that it looked like my daughter needed to use the restroom. the worker told him the lobby was closed and that they were not going to come open the door. the truck driver tried to reason with the drive through worker because he could understand the situation of having a toddler that needed to use the restroom. but the worker refused. after hearing this i walked back to my car that was at the payment window and tried to explain the situation to the worker ( this was at 1130 am on a sunday). the worker stated that he could not open the door because they were understaffed and would not be able to keep track of me when i came in. i told my wife not to give him money for the order and that we were going somewhere else for lunch. we then left to raising canes just down the street where i could take my daughter inside and use the restroom and get lunch. this isnt about food or staffing. its about having common sense and being sympathetic towards someone elses situation.

UNDERCOOKED CHICKEN. There is nothing grosser than biting into bloody chicken. I should have known since the breading was pale yellow, almost white. They must have dumped cayenne into the gravy making it inedible. Prices have gone up and the chicken is miniscule. In the past the food was hit and miss. Sometimes it's tasty sometimes not, depending on the oil being used. But it is a complete waste of money. Even if it wasn't a disgusting meal it has gotten so expensive that you can get a real sit down dinner for the same price.

Trying to order in the drive through. Male kept interrupting our order so we didn't get all we need and when we tried to finish our order in drive through window they tried to make us go around. So I tried to walk in to order they had the doors locked during business hours and ignored me. Never coming back.

So I love the food that Chicken Express has but this location in highland village at least does not have a chip reader for credit/ debit cards. I my opinion this is absolutely ridiculous as no bank I know of will issue a card without the chip. Seriously get a chip reader.

Not sure I'll return to this location. Terrible problem with air conditioning vent condensation dripping water and mold growing out of the ceiling and vents.

Always count your chickens!!.... we love chicken express and always buy TO-GO, but this location always give wrong count of tenders, less of what is ordered. ALL THE TIME!!! Now we learn to count them before we leave the drive thru window.

Be careful when coming to this location. My sons baseball team had a game and decided to come here after their game. We walked in at 9:05 pm and the store hours state they close at 9:30 but we were informed the "lobby" was closed even though the store had the open sign on. As soon as we walked out they turned off the light and locked the doors. I guess the kids running the store had a party to get to. I am glad they lost out on $300-$400 in sales for the entire team. If they have this kind of customer service they obviously do not care about their customers so I can only imagine what kind of "care" they take with their food.

I initially had a pretty good opinion of this place, but my last experience will ensure that I never go there again. I ordered online for pickup, showed up and gave my name, was told they didn't have my order and ignored my attempts to show them my order. It was only after being ignored for another 10 minutes they asked my name again, and confirmed it had been ready the whole time. I get mistakes can be made, but after it was corrected they acted like it was my fault.

I’m so sorry to say this is no longer on my list of favs. I ordered online and had to wait 25 minutes after if was supposed to be ready. I wasn’t greeted for over 5 minutes when I stood at the counter and the greeting was ‘What’s your order?’ No ‘hello’, no ‘welcome’, nothing. After waiting so long on my order, I double checked it before leaving and there were several things missing. None of the sauces, an order of bone in chicken, no gravy (not for the chicken tenders OR the mashed potatoes) and the bottom of the chicken tenders box was so wet with condensation that it was falling apart. I felt really pretty disappointed paying $70 for chicken and having to deal with all of this. Maybe they are short staffed like everyone but the people packing the bags weren’t moving very fast. The cook was certainly hustling though. He’s really the only reason I’m giving a 1 star - he saved the day by helping the girl take care of my order. Too bad cause I do love their chicken.

Long drive thru wait time, we’ve been sitting in line for a while. Why call it “express”? Only reason we returned is because we bought a coupon book/ pamphlet from a neighborhood kid with a combo special. We also experienced a long wait time last time we were here.

I've gone many times as I used to love this restaurant, but this location is the worst. I keep going back in hope of change. Everything time I go the employees have the worst attitude, there always items missing. Today was no exception I order, went to the window and I ask if I could add some okra. The lady very bluntly said yes and never look at me. $5 later I get home and no okra. Am over this location and will never go back even if I crave it.

I came here for lunch today at 12:00pm. It is a Monday. My chicken tenders and fries are luke warm at best. I asked the guy in the drive thru if I could get fresh chicken and he said “our tenders aren’t that old” and it would be 15 minutes before I could get fresh ones. Even chicken and fries under a heat lamp are warmer than these. What type of chicken place doesn’t even have hot food during the lunch rush? My food is barely edible. Worst $11 I’ve ever spent. Completely wasted. If you only have a 30 minute lunch break, don’t come here. Even if you aren’t in a rush, I would never recommend this location. I wish I had read the reviews first. This place is poorly managed, and the customer service is poor as well. They didn’t even offer me a receipt. I will never come to this location again.I wouldn’t be surprised if it shuts down.

This is the worst Chicken Express I have ever dined at. The older female manager has ZERO customer service experience! There was two very rude Highschool boys working the drive through and really should be trained again on how to treat your customers. After I sat in my car waiting for my order the two young boys brought my food out and said Here is your food and while driving off the young boy with the long hair yelled F,,,,,K You. Will never return to this location.

Chicken was obviously old didn’t taste right at all. Normally chicken is fresh and hot not this time. Servers were even worse unfriendly handed food through the window and just shut it. I waited to see if there was more she reopened the window said can i help you i ask if there was more to my order she replied no and just shut the window. Lost us kfc just down the road

We ordered 2 #3's. The chicken was very bland. Not even a hint of salt or anything else. We asked for butter and honey for our rolls and didn't get either one. We ordered mashed potatoes and gravy and we didn't get any gravy just plain potatoes. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Mixed with cold chicken pieces, some part too salty some too plain, most skins are soggy , cream corn is not fresh, mashed potato missing in the order.

I placed an order and when I got home they forgot my rolls. So I returned and told the girl at the window they forgot my rolls....she said are you sure...lol. she then shut the window and got my tools.. handed them to me and rudely shut the window. Not even a sorry for the inconveniences. I'm sure it will be my last time there. Oh and the done in is locked so I had to wait to get the rolls they tried to rip me off out of. I understand that mistakes are made but being rude after one doesn't make it right. Be sure to check your order before you leave so you don't have to be treated rudely when they try to rip you off.

I pulled up at chicken Express in Highland Village 10 minutes before closing 7:49pm , The doors were locked tonight, I got out of my car. Another customer got out of his car and he looked at me and I looked at him and he said I guess the doors are locked and I said I guess they’re closing 10 mins early. Maybe they dont want to crank those deep fryers back up, it’s just not convenient for them. It’s Sunday night and so I got back in my car, went to the drive-through was told that they were out of livers, gizzard and chicken breast tonight so I said forget. And left and went down to canes chicken, I told them when I walked, wow y’all are busy, you must be getting all the chicken express customers because they’re telling people their out of gizzards, chicken breast and livers , and the chicken cane guy behind the counter said… I Never really heard of a chicken place being out of chicken breast, liver, and gizzards. That’s what the canes guy said to me, I just said oh well. Thanks Canes was in an out five minutes flat .

Just attempted To come in for lunch. Place looked empty, waited at the front counter for about 5 minutes but didn’t see anyone. I could hear some music and talking coming from the back corner. I tried to call out, knock to get attention but without success. Had to go somewhere else for lunch

Ordered 2 gallons of sweat tea in drive thru. Told me it's going to be a bit since he has to make it. Seemed very put out by the request. When I got the tea home it was extremely weak as if it was watered down instead of making the fresh batch. Tea went in the trash and $12 wasted. This place used to be great, something happened over the last 3 to 4 years. Every experience since then has been sub par. I will no longer visit this location so and take my business up the road to raising canes.

I will not be returning to this location! First the woman at the drive thru was extremely rude and too me to wait in a parking spot for my food. I ordered a family style chicken tender box and some livers. I don’t mind waiting, but I sat there for 45 minutes! I watched multiple customers receive their food who paid after me. I figured they may have been short handed and eventually received my food. When I got home, I opened the box and not only was the box not the quantity I paid for, it was a mixed order of chicken and no chicken tenders! The chicken was also extremely cold. I decided it wasn’t worth driving back and potentially waiting another 45 minutes to fix. The livers did not taste right either. I can only describe the taste as expired. I am very disappointed because I enjoy other locations. I recommend avoiding this location.

Three cars in front of me and it takes 20 minutes to finally get my food and of course my food was COLD and the chicken didn’t taste good. The mashed potato’s and gravy is filled up with mostly gravy and little mashed potato’s. They also wouldn’t take my $1 off coupon not expired. They said they don’t allow coupons at this location. $12 for meal #1 is ridiculous, even more when it’s cold and you had to wait awhile to get it.

Last time I came to get fish they said the wait would be 12 min and it was almost 30 because they forgot I was sitting out there. The young lady was nice when she brought me the cold catfish because her boss told her I could wait. Today I came to try again and No fish will be prepared for the remainder of the day although it’s not close to closing time. I like chicken express but too many bad experiences.

This chicken express location has gone WAAAY downhill. The food is not nearly as good. I'm not a hater. I'm only writing this review so the current owners/managers can see and do a better job bc this chicken express sucks now. Every single thing on the menu is worse is taste and quality. Please god fix this chicken express bc I used to love going here.

My husband and I tried to eat at Chicken Express in Flower Mound tonight. It was 8:15 on Friday. We tried to go in and both doors were locked. The permanent hours on the locked door said open hours were until 9pm. No one behind the counter even looked toward the door when we tried to open it. It had been a long time since we had eaten there due to the declining quality of food and service. I guess it hasn't gotten better...

Ordered 20 express strips this time sides and a gallon a tea. They gave me everything but the tea. Last time they didnt give me all the sides. The time before that they forgot a drink. The time before that, they gave us 4 sweet teas, when we ordered 4 unsweetened. They also won't refund you once you've already left. Avoid this crooked place at all costs.

Chicken Express used to be a favorite, albeit a pricier one. Now, they've just gotten ridiculous. They charge about $2 per tender, and now refuse to provide sauces if you get gravy. I'm sorry, but for $2/tender, you can also give a couple barbecue sauces. I get charging if someone wants 10 or some such, but refusing to give 2? Crazy. Won't be back. Hope that 20 cents you saved works out for you.OK. Management seems to be lacking common sense. Our money will go elsewhere from now on. Food was ok.

Arrived at 8:18 (let me preface that I have managed a fast food chicken spot) placed order and was told they were out of thighs and that it'd take 10 minutes for thighs. Ok, I'll wait. There were 2 cars ahead of me, one waiting and 1 at the window. Car at window received their order. I paid for my order at 8:27 per my receipt. Was asked to pull forward, got no drinks. 4 cars came through behind me and received their orders. I'm not upset, they probably ordered strips or pieces they had. The man who was waiting when I got there went to the door and asked about his order. About 5 minutes later he received his food. I pull up and 2 more cars go through behind me. I'm checking emails then realize it's 8:50! Did they forget about me? I back up to the window and everybody is doing the avoid eye contact game. Then I see the shift manager (I hope she's not the store manager) gesture to the cook, then come to the window at 8:55 to tell me that unfortunately there was a communication error with not understanding English and it will be another 3 minutes before I get my order. No ma'am I'm not waiting 40 minutes for an order I was promised would take 10 minutes. She zeroed out the order then proceeded to tell me it could take 3-5 days for my refund. I am keeping my receipts and will not be returning. Simple communication and a culture of service would've gone a long way. I used to love this place but if this is the best they can do, they can shut it down right now and save us all the headache. Sorely disappointed. BTW went just down the street to a competitor and was in and out in less than 5 minutes with hot food and excellent service.

Food is cold Biscuit is hard and stale Server was so rude I wanted to leave The sad part about it is nothing will be done it will get worse do not go to this location you will waste your time and money just the worst kind of service

the people were okay, but i just have to say this place is seemingly unsanitary. first thing i noticed when i opened my box was a hair molded to one of my pieces of chicken, so just be advised when coming here.

Remove original post. Removed stars. 6/19/22 Not anymore. Rushed order taker, rude guy at the window. Sounded a little older. Only a little container of gravy with chicken livers, enough for 1/3 of livers(dipping). They used to provide 2 larger containers of gravy. 2/3 of my lunch goes to the trash now. Not worth the fuel to go back and correct. I’ll save fuel next time by not going back.

Got a #2 that took forever, seemed to be having to wait on the person in front of me in the drive through though but when I got home and bit into my jalapeno poppers, every one was just a shell of breading, there was not a drop off cheese or jalapeno in any of them along with gravy that seemed to be separating or not properly blended. Very disappointed with my food experience.

Service was very slow. Not many people inside but long drive-thru line which was getting priority. Waited about 15 minutes to get 4 tiny chicken tenders and a few fries. Quality, quantity and service have really declined.
