This has always been, and continues to be one the best restaurants I have ever been to. My wife and I go here anytime we want a romantic date night with a great atmosphere and delicious food. Rui is an amazing server, and the chef creates beautiful dishes with fresh ingredients.
I would come back to Daytona JUST for them gem. From the authentic Latin decor and ambience, to the delectably sourced and crafted food... this spot is a 100/5 stars. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The owner is the mastermind behind the menu and it shows. Their homemade sauces will ruinnnn you for the rest of your life, since you will never find any to compare. I highly recommend their cassava fries and any seafood catch. Their salads are also out of this world and so uniquely crafted it's well worth the money.
Chucherias passed my expectations! The outside seating is stunning and the inside seating is beautiful and warm. The staff was very attentive. The food…. Every bite was delicious! From the appetizer to the main course, it did not disappoint. I had the steak and lobster tail.
This was the most amazing food I have had since moving to FL almost 3 yrs ago. A pretty penny was spent here, oh absolutely, but imagine that it was worth every single one of them. This spot was found casually, my friend and I were next door drinking beer and I was hungry so we googled something nearby, it was steps away, they only take reservations but we went in there and said what's the worse thing they can say, no? The lovely ladies spoke to the manager and they prepared a table for us 🥹 the service was outstanding, the appetizer pupusas, I wanted to cry, we ordered two because they were so good. Their chimichurri and their spicy habanero sauce (crack) When the entrée came, idk but I think people were hearing how obnoxious we were, like we never ate before lol because this food was out of this world. I had a mojito for my drink and that, I can honestly say it was OK not horrible but idc, everything else was insane. Our server was the sweetest young girl omG I forgot her name but she was the best. I need to be here every so often. Thats all.. Good job Chef Mayra❤️
My husband and I are blown away with this unexpected gem. We got lost looking for another Spanish restaurant but we found ourselves in this place. It only accepts reservations but fortunately they accommodated us.🥰 Anyways, our experience from start to finish was beyond exceptional. We finished our wine and food up to the last drop. Kudos to Chef and service was par excellence! Will definitely come back and tell our friends🥰❤️🥰
Chucherias Restaurant is a hidden gem tucked inside a beautifully preserved historic marketplace building. While the surrounding neighborhood feels a bit worn, stepping into the restaurant is like entering a different world—elegant, warm, and full of character. The food was truly exceptional—worthy of Michelin stars. We started with the octopus appetizer, which was perfectly tender and flavorful. For our entrées, we had the Catracho Beef Tenderloin and the Roast Pork, both of which were absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. Our server was welcoming, attentive, and impressively knowledgeable about the menu, the history of the restaurant/chef, and the history of the building, adding to the overall wonderful experience. I highly recommend Chucherias for anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience in an unexpected location.
A Local Culinary Gem That Delivers Both Service and Flavor! From the moment we sat down, this place had us hooked. The fresh Cuban bread alone deserves its own standing ovation—pillowy, warm, and served with a homemade butter kissed with cinnamon and brown sugar that could convert even the most devoted savory fan. It’s comfort and indulgence in every bite. We started with ham croquettes and patatas bravas, and both were spot-on. The croquettes were crisp on the outside, creamy and savory inside—like a bite-sized love letter to traditional Spanish flavors. The patatas bravas had just the right kick, with a smoky, tangy sauce that made them impossible to share politely. For mains, the Shrimp Machuca was a revelation—plump, perfectly cooked shrimp swimming in a rich, velvety sauce that had depth, warmth, and just the right touch of heat. And the Prime Tenderloin filet? Impeccably seared, melt-in-your-mouth tender, and paired with sides that complemented without competing. Service was warm and attentive, and the ambiance struck that rare balance between cozy and elevated. Every dish felt crafted with care, and the pacing of the meal let us savor without ever feeling rushed. If you’re looking for a place that nails the details—from the bread basket to the final bite—this spot is a must. We’ll be back, and next time, we’re bringing friends. They deserve to taste this.
The restaurant was a delightful surprise! In a world full of bland chain eateries, this gem stands out with its real, made-from-scratch quality food. Dishes burst with flavor, showcasing true culinary craftsmanship. The welcoming atmosphere and passionate service make dining here a real pleasure. It's the perfect spot for those craving a taste of genuine, wholesome food amidst the monotony. Highly recommended for a memorable dining experience!
Great foods, fine service and beautiful ambiance. The outdoor "interior garden" is on point. We had a great time and enjoyed the flavors of our dishes. My fave was the appetizer ( octopus).
Authentic amazing Honduran cuisine. Octopus appetizer is a must. Steak, pork dishes, chicken dishes;salads are fresh; and desserts are really too tasty. A local fav for us. Returned again.
Awesome food, service, drinks, and atmosphere. Can't wait to go back!
The food was superb! Kudos to the chef 🎖 My personal favorite is the seafood, but all of them were great. The atmosphere is fantastic. Thanks to our server Nicole who made our night extra special. She goes above and beyond for an excellent service. The chef gave the newlyweds a dessert which was good of her. Keep it up, guys and gals! 🏆 Definitely need to come back.
We've been doing a food tour of Daytona and surrounding areas. This tops the charts. Food is absolutely beyond amazing - fresh, unique, authentic and delicious. Ambiance is great - small, charming and warm. Service was impeccable. The octopus starter is to die for. The fresh bread and dipping sauces are a party in your mouth. I cannot recommend this place enough. Go. You will not be disappointed. There is literally not a bad thing on the menu. And definitely leave room for dessert!
Absolutely delicious and first class service. We were a party of 8 and everyone was outstandingly beyond satisfied! From the moment we walked in until we left everything was superb. I’ve been here a few times and we brought our friends for the first time and already they are looking forward to coming back. Super tasty and wonderful selection of food and drinks!
Enjoyed an amazing meal tonight with some longtime friends. Have thought about going to this restaurant for years and never have until tonight. Several great appetizers but octopus was our favorite. The pork was really good but I think the lobster dish as well as one of the specials with cod were even better. Excellent service and a fun night. Highly recommend!
Oh my goodness! A huge thank you to one of the owners of the wonderful wine bar, Beach & Vine, Kathy. We are delighted with our dining experience! Rui took good care of us. Excellent level of service in this fine dining restaurant. The food and beverage we chose were excellent! The octopus was perfect! The mussels were the best we’ve had possibly EVER! I have have eaten mussels in Europe and the Americas. The addition of artichokes and asparagus along with onions and chorizo (my husband ate it up) and whatever else chef put in + the turmeric and other spices made the broth worth soaking up with the Cuban style bread. My husband had a tequila blanco, I had an Albariño. An amazing dining experience! Fabulous wine and spirits list.
Food was delicious! My husband had the roast pork and love it. The bread and sauces were out of this world. Our waitress Nicole was warm and friendly. She went above and beyond! Excellent service. We will definitely be back again.
Such a fun find! The grounds are beautiful and the building is so cool! Ask the manager about the history of the building. Food had excellent layer of flavors! The table sauces are delicious! The papusa were so good with the slaw on top. The restaurant was soooo accommodating with special requests. We enjoyed our date night here!
This is a fine dining small restaurant! Delicious food! Excellent service, the waiters and the managers are very welcoming and professional! The place is very romantic and very beautifully designed, you will love it! One of my best dinning experiences. The place has few tables so please make a reservation, you will love the experience! I highly recommended!
One of my favorite restaurants in town for years. I've been following them since they were on Mason Avenue back in the day. They've recently added a lunch menu that allows you to try almost everything on the dinner menu at a very affordable rate. Service is never lacking and the staff remember you. An excellent place for a business meeting, casual lunch, or superior date night experience.
This place was absolutely unreal! It was exquisite, sophisticated, culturally intriguing, and incredibly tasteful in class & diverse flavors. It was my boyfriends birthday celebration and my wonderful waitress did a great job in making him feel special. Quite frankly, every waitress and waiter seemed to have stellar customer service skills. I observed each of them consistently go to their tables and ask the guest if they needed anything and how they could be of service. Next, the drinks. These drinks were amazing and my boyfriend said he felt like the drinks were singing to him. 🤣 and I promise he wasn’t drunk he’d only had one sip. Of course, the food was top tier. It was cooked by an authentic Honduran chef. She kept her plating classy and elegant. Fancy enough that you were in awe but not so fancy that it distracted you from the flavors of the authentic food. The dessert was a perfect balance of bitter and sweet, which is extremely hard to achieve in a desert. A lot of times restaurants make desserts overly sweet, but this Chef understands that you shouldn’t lose your tooth when you’re eating a dessert lol. She was able to perfectly balance those flavors throughout the appetizers, entrees , and desserts. Overall, my boyfriend had a beautiful experience and I am so happy that we had the pleasure of tasting this food. BTW, any of the comments saying anything bad are genuinely coming from pretentious individuals that don’t understand the complexities that come with fine dining. I would definitely tell you to give this a try for yourself because you will absolutely love it. Oh and for fine dining, these prices are wonderful!!!
Amazing hidden gem in the middle of Daytona. Really enjoyed the sangria and the roast park. The plantains with the pico de gallo was great. The service was superb and every selection was everything they said it would be. The outdoor seating is great and the breeze from the river las very pleasant
Oh my goodness. What a gem of a find. On vacation looking for a nice lunch. Just stumbled on this location. Our meal was amazing. Upon entering the courtyard to the restaurant you left the world behind and transported away to have a culinary experience with no other rival. If you are in Daytona and want a dinning experience to amaze your senses then you have to come to CHUCHERIAS... No question. If you do not then you have lost out on something truly special. Highlight. Dessert Sticky Toffee and Mussels
My boys are not easy to please, but they were totally happy. Every single dish was perfect. Add great service and a cozy, relaxed atmosphere, and you can imagine why we were simply happy. Highly recommended. I wish we had this fine establishment here in Michigan. Thank you to the hosts for the wonderful experience!
I was visiting the area and stopped here to get some appetizers and drinks. It’s a great place for couples and date night. I did not have reservations but was kindly accommodated. The food and service were phenomenal.
First time coming here to celebrate my anniversary. Dinner was divine. Our waiter was lovely and so attentive. My boyfriend had the lobster tail and I had the mahi which was the chef's special. Superb food. Will definitely be returning!
If this isn’t on your list of places to go in the Daytona Beach area it should be. The food is sensational and the service is nothing short of outstanding. Our waiter, Rui, was personable, prompt, and very helpful with our selections.
The most wonderful dinner we have had in Daytona Beach since we moved here two years ago. Owner wonderful. Servers spot on. Food was out of this world. If you like fine dining and do not mind paying for great food this is the special place. They only have 10 tables so you must have reservations. We did Valentines and it was a winner. We will be back.
Wonderful relaxing atmosphere. Great service. The food was excellent, definetly one of the best restaurants in this County. I wanted to lick the plates after each course. Fantastic flavors, melt in your mouth steak.
First impression: very nice ambience, nice set up. The service very good. Bathroom clean. I did not expect that at all!! Now, I had a Cucumber caipiroshka and it was really good, not too sweet and very refreshing. My husband had the Spanish margarita and it was also really good. The menu clean. Service excellent and the food outstanding. I had the mussels and my husband had the fish tacos. Both excellent. We live an hour away from the restaurant, but distance won’t stop us for coming back.
Very beautiful restaurant! Great tasting food! The staff is pleasantly personable. Our party of 3 sat outside and embellished in this fine cuisine! Make time for the quaint little getaway!
Oh My G-d!!! Stop reading and make a reservation. This place is beyond words amazing. All I can say is that there is so much love, heart and character in the food that you'll fall in love. Our waiter Kai is just as stellar as the food. He is upbeat, knows his menu and makes the most genuine of connections. Chef knows her stuff and makes the best choices that including decor. Both inside and the most enchanting outside. If you're a vegetarian, you've got choices and make sure you order every course. The crêpées are just as stellar.
When we say THE ART OF FINE DINING. The winner goes to CHUCHERIOS. This reminds us the high end fine dining in DUBAI. Lets get started. Walk in we get ushered by the one and only RUI, Rui is a Proffessional & he knows the menu to the T, how you usher and seat guest. Then once settled he introduced himself and asked what we wanted & what was on Chefs special, ingredients & the name of the Chef. Once you choose drinks he waits, then came back to check. Gets our starter and meticulously explains what's in every starter you ordered. Our drinks Old fashined with double oak wodford reserve. Pork dish & Sticky toffee pudding was freaking deliciously good.
Service is wonderful and food even better. We had the papusas, pastelitos, and plaintain chips for appetizers. I had the shrimp machuca and my friend the chicken breast with rice and beans. Everything was flavorful and beautifully presented. Housemade guava butter! And try to save room for dessert, at least those delicate little cookies filled with dulce de leche.
One of the best dinners I've ever had
With only one opportunity for an evening out in Daytona, we wanted a quality dining experience. I honestly did not realize it would be so hard to find. While in Daytona, my husband and I were trying to figure out a good place to have dinner. We stumbled upon Chucherias and it was the best decision ever. I had poured over reviews from other fine dining establishments and the minute I thought "ok, this is the one." I would then read reviews which described horrible owners etc. We all know to If you are interested in going make a reservation on Open Table and know that they do not want small children in the restaurant (and it clearly says this on the reservations page). The restaurant is located in an odd location as other reviewers have mentioned, but so what? You walk in to a nice little courtyard and there is a path that leads up to the restaurant. I imagine sitting outside is wonderful in cooler weather. The old oak trees with moss hanging from them really compliment the setting. The inside is small but in a nice way. Tables are spaced where no one is on top of another table. The interior is all wood with high celings and glass windows. There is a small bar with seating for about 4. We were greeted when we walked in and then seated quickly. The person who was helping us was not dressed like the waiters (who were all dressed nicely in black dress shirts and bow ties) so perhaps he is the manager or owner? We asked his opinion on a bottle of wine. And he recommened a wonderful blend from Argentina that was priced at $45 for the bottle. It was nice to see that he wasn't trying to upsell us on a bottle that was more expensive (believe me - there are some pricey bottles on that list). Appetizers I had the Pupusas de queso which the menu desribes as a cheese corn cake. I enjoyed it. The corn cake provided a little texture and the cheese was creamy. It reminded me of an arepa but better done and more savory. It was served pickled cabbage and a cabbage salad. My husband had the Pulpo al estilo Espanol. It is octopus. He said it was great. He didn't offer to share, so I have no clue how it tasted. He did help himself to some of my appetizer proclaiming that it was good as well. Mains I had the Catracho aka The Honduran. It was a nicely portioned beef tenderloin served with carmelized onions on top. And all of the fixings one might expect to accompany a meal: plaintains, avocado, refired black beans, and rice. The meat was tender, well cooked (I ordered medium and that is what I got), and well seasoned. I only ate a little bit of everything else because I was very full, but it all complimented one another. My husband had the pan roasted/fried whole red snapper (it was one of the evening's specials). We were advised that it would take longer to prepare so that we weren't wondering where our meals were. And that was fine, we said we were in no rush and enjoyed our time chatting and drinking our wine. The presentation of the entire fish was great. My husband enjoyed every morsel of meat and also helped himself to some of the side items on my plate (do you recognize a trend here). Dessert For dessert my husband chose the sticky toffee pudding. I didn't get a chance to take a pic because he helped himself before I could tell him to stop, but it was pretty amazing. The cake is served warm, and they drizzle the caramel sauce all over the dessert tableside. Again, it was very enjoyable. I had a few bites and the eating machine polished off the rest. Dinner for 2 excluding tip but including a bottle of wine was $198. I feel that is a fair price. I know some other reviewers have complained about the price. You have a choice, you don't have to eat here. You can go spend half as much at Red Lobster, and enjoy the chain restaurant experience. But for us, it was worth the extra money. The service was great and the food was really tasty.
One of the finest restaurants in this area. Highly recommend it!! The setting is beautiful and the food is fabulous. You won't be disappointed. Make reservations if you go for dinner.
An exquisite dinner in a Christmas Wonderland! Don’t miss this restaurant for the holidays! The chef is very talented and transports you with flavors to the Latin and Caribbean countries. All our appetizers and entrees were deliciously prepared and plated with love. The portions are very generous! Our waitress was charming and had great recommendations for drinks and wine. Noone at our table had room for dessert, but no worries, we will be back again… making sure to save room for dessert! If you love cocktails, try the Chocolate Martini and Sangria you won’t be disappointed!
Excellent! You will not be disappointed. Fine dining at its finest. I loved the intimate atmosphere and authentic ambience. The food was delicious and our server was very welcoming, appreciative and provided great service.
I rarely write reviews for anything, but felt compelled to after enjoying our first anniversary dinner at Chucherias. The service was wonderful and the meal was one of the best we’ve had in years. My husband said the lobster was the best he’s ever had, and “best” anything is rare feedback from him. Highly recommended Chucherias to anyone looking for a great meal in the Daytona area.
An excellent experience in every way. This is the gold standard for dining, Spanish cuisine or otherwise. Our waiter was so friendly and inviting without being overbearing, he makes you feel like an honored guest in a beautiful setting. I never had to wonder about what a dish or appetizer was or if I would enjoy it, because he explained everything so well. When he said that he'd like to have us again, I really believed he meant it. The food was as good as it gets. Fresh ingredients, great flavors, and perfect execution. Many fine dining establishments lure you in with fancy labels and big price tags, only to be disappointed with a lackluster product. That isn't the case here. You're getting what you pay for and then some. The setting is intimate and beautiful. Outdoor or indoor has a wonderful Spanish flair that makes you feel like you're in Spain. It is small so you may need a reservation on a busy day, but I don't count that as a negative. I will surely be coming back any time I'm in the area.
Always a pleasure. This is the greatest dine possible. The perfect match of coziness, attention and fare. From the moment we walk in it is a pleasant experience. The knowledgeable staff knows the menu, and the food. Doña Myra gets it right. Every. Single. Time. Not just right though, like tear in your eye right. We started with the octopus, we didn’t want to be inappropriate but were definitely scraping the bowl. Then I had the grouper over curry. I don’t know how she gets that perfect crispy outside without burning it whilst keeping the inside tender and juicy. Wish we would have taken pictures but I am sure they get enough positive reviews, definitely a 5 star restaurant, 3 Michelins and whatever other award that could be offered. Shout out to Sergio too who always adds to the experience as a wonderful MC. PS: There’s a secret item not on the menu, the whole fried snapper, also highly recommend. Thank you Chucherias!
This is one of the best meals I've had in a long time. We had the steak both the traditional and the thin cut and we had the pork and chicken. All 4 of us had to share a taste of each other's food! The drinks were well done and we splurged on desert and coffee! I'm looking forward to another visit! Thanks!
Just fabulous! Began with highly recommended corn cakes with two great sauces, chimichurri, and habinero. Also cabbage salads that were very tasty. Best fillet ever! Love the refried black beans with rice that is perfectly cooked. To top it all off we had the sticky toffee pudding, PERFECT!! Thank you to the chef and Rui for making this a wonderful experience!
Excellent choice for our Christmas Eve dinner! Everything from octopus appetizer, to Caesar salads, to fish, pork, shrimp and chicken were delicious. Atmosphere is intimate and warm. Service was outstanding. Will return.
This restaurant is second to none. The food is exceptional every single time. I drive from Jacksonville just to indulge in Chucherias. If you want to be completely blown away by a meal this is where you go. Pure Magic! Every single time.
We chose Chucherias based on reviews and the fact they had delicious vegetarian options. We were greeted by a friendly staff. Upon our request, we were seated outside in the beautiful courtyard surrounded by gorgeous landscaping and lighting. The food was impeccable and so was the service. Even the presentation of the food was gorgeous. I will always remember this birthday dining experience.
The staff and atmosphere are very good. My husband thought his thin sliced steak to be perfectly cooked. I tried the shrimp machuca. I probably should have listened to our server’s description more closely. I don’t care for sweet and savory in a dinner dish. Unfortunately, my stomach is still paying me back a day later. If you like plantains, I think they are probably quite good at cooking them and they seem to be a part of every meal they offer. But if plantains are not your thing you might try somewhere else.
Chef tried to get to fancy with the menu! Lobster tail should remain in the tail! I’m not a child and need my lobster cut up for me! The Octopus appetizer was to complicated! Just cook it in garlic butter wine sauce and not with all the other crap
I came in thinking this place had delicious food. I ordered an appetizer it was the octopus my waitress said it was fresh but it didn’t tasted fresh had more potatoes than actual octopus very disappointing. For my dinner I ordered pork. Such a small portion and some of the meat was dry and had no taste. It was served with white yellow rice and canned black beans. This was very disappointing for the price. The total came out to $87 will not be back again. The waitress was amazing though.
