Service was close to perfection. Small little hole in the wall with amazing food. We had half a pitcher of sangria, enough to fill 4 cups. We ordered tapas to share. Tortilla - 9 out of 10 Chistorras 9.5 out 10 Pimiento 9 out of 10 Fried Calamari 9.5 out of 10 Chorizo 9 out of 10 this is exactly the same as the chistorras but bigger sausage. Compared to the level of service and the quality of the food this place is cheap.
Friendly environment, food is really tastie!!! The Paella Valenciana is AMAZING!!! The idea of Sangria and Tapas while the Guitarrrist and Dancer perform is better than just going for the main dish. The whole experience is fun and out of the ordinary, the place gets packed so get there on time.
I love this cozy little spot. The food is great, especially the Paella. The first time I went was with a Groupon. But after enjoying the Paella the first time, I was hooked. They have a nice selections of wine that pair well with the food. If the place is full, it may require a bit of patience as the staff is usually only two servers/bartenders. If you are ordering Paella, it take about 45 minutes but it's worth the wait. Don't bother with the Sangria, get a bottle of the Tempranillo and enjoy.
Tasty Paella! Even better than some restaurants in Spain. If you like rice, this will be a great place.
Excellent food and environment. The Paella is done fresh and Sangria is also very good.
Amazing Food, excellent service, nice live music
Best restaurant I've been to in a long time! Great authentic Spanish tapas. Very gourmet, very respectable prices, and absolutely incredible taste. Thursday Friday and Saturdays great live performance.
Didn't know where to eat! Walked inside this tiny spot on a whim. They had just opened for the day, I was their 1st order. Took garlic shrimp, white beans with spinach in red sauce, some eggplant cheese appetizer, & of course bread rolls to go & ate it at a nearby park. Holy moly was I pleasantly surprised! EVERYTHING was SO delicious! I couldn't pick a favorite. Can't wait to be in the area again to stay at the restaurant on a busy night when they have live music!
The best spanish food I've tried out of Spain! The show was great. Rodrigo the guitarist is amazing as well as the rest of the group! Would definitely go back!!
Buleria is a cozy place you can enjoy with family and friends. Make sure to order right away the paella if you wish to have it as a main entree. Go around 6:30 PM or 7:00 PM to enjoy the live performance that occurs some days during the week.
An unexpectedly excellent find in downtown Hollywood reminiscent of an old Madrid style restaurant of which there are too few in the states. True Spanish cuisine with live flamenco music and excellent authentic flavors of Spain.
I loved the Sangria. I also had the artichokes. They were to die for. Maybe it was the sangria but I loved the place. The lady serving us was a sweetheart. For desert I had the crema Catalana. It was delicious.
Awesome!!! Great service from our waiter Alejandro and the meal was delicious!!! Paella de mariscos, pitcher of White Sangria and live music. Enough said!
Great selection of tasty tappas in a fun atmosphere. Live music and traditional dancing regularly. Be sure to try the sangria it's wonderful!
Excellent food and good portions Well decorated and cosy A little expensive Very good service, at the end they we're upset because tip was nota expected and Made us have an unconfortable moment It desde not have parking but you can park un front of the store Specialty of the house is Paella I totally recommend it!
Weekends music, entertainment, dancers.. food is tapas, small plates to share.. Delicious! a bit pricey but take it all in enjoy, stroll downtown afterwards and enjoy a lovely place..
Delicious Spanish food and drinks, great service! I made a reservation for my husband's b-day last night and he loved the place! The owners are very courteous and hospitable. The live music was wonderful too! We will definitely come back.👍 5 stars!
Great ambiance and service. Loved sitting outside listening to the flamenco music and drinking sangria. The food was decent, octopus was maybe a bit mushy but overall everything was flavorful and relatively authentic. The highlight was the creme brulee which had notes of orange in it. Be aware: if it is your birthday they will make you go on stage and dance with them. Fun night, would definitely go back!
Amazing hidden gem. Loved two tapas I ordered. Delicious Spanish sausage and egg plant with manchego cheese. I also tried my friend's fish with veggies. Very flavorful. We enjoyed the flamenco band playing along and the lady dancing skillfully. A must go!
Small tapas resteraunt in downtown Hollywood. We've been a couple of times. They have consistently excellent paella and tapas. Paella can take a while to cook but the other small plates come out very quickly. Great live entertainment. Make sure to sit inside if you want to watch the dancing.
If you want homemade deliciousness you will find it at Buleria. From the soups to the entrees to dessert everything tastes with a touch of love like Mom makes. The absolute best Lentil soup I've ever eaten out! Prior to choosing a vegan path the paia'a forgive my spelling! and meat and cheese platters were a favorite. The tapas entrees offers an incredible variety of deliciousness reasonably priced. The wine and beer list is admirable. My Lady and I follow a vegan path. The staff easily customized certain dishes to accommodate us. They remember whenever we return. It is a real blessing and man oh man we can eggplant ourselves to happiness Add in a family atmosphere of fun and caring. The flamenco dancing is brilliant! Great place for a romantic evening or a family reunion or a business celebration. One of the jewels in the Downtown Hollywood Culinary Crown!
This is our go to spot for delicious food. The tapas are so diverse and amazing! There's about 20 different tapas. If you don't know what tapas are they are small dishes that are meant to be shared. We always order the octopus, potatoes, beans, and egg plant. We accidentally order tapas that we haven't tried yet, but guess what - they were super delicious! The ingredients are fresh, because you can stuff yourself and not feel sick. They also have a flamenco dancer, but the music get too loud.
Delicious Spanish Tapas and wonderful Flamenco and guitar on Friday and Saturday nights. Have been coming here for several years. Had a birthday party for 29 of my closest friends and relatives on a Fri. Alejandro and Mary handled it beautifully and the total was reasonable.Great date place, something different for an evening.
Went early on a Saturday night, the food was delicious! Bacon wrapped dates, squid ink paella and sweet sherry. The service was polite and attentive. Happy to find this place so close to home!
Cool place... Nice cozy outdoor seating, although it was so quiet that I had to play some authentic Spanish music from Pandora on my phone. There were advertisements for live music and flamenco dancing but nothing the night we went (Tuesday night around 7pm). The paella was excellent and I highly recommend it (be aware that it takes 45 minutes to prepare).
Been here a few times for an early, lite dinner. Always great food, nice staff, good experience. Keep saying I have to get back to see the flamenco dancers. One of my favorite places.
A rather casual restaurant that can swing it as a date night place. Sangria is all the rage so I had one and certainly had no problem emptying my glass. My girlfriend and I got three plates: Spanish eggs, sautéed mushrooms and garbanzo beans with chorizo. The eggs were spectacular, they were a special that night and came in a fabulous red sauce. The garbanzo and chorizo was just okay, and the mushrooms were just not to my liking. That's all kind of trivial though...what really stands out about this place is the flamenco dancers! A man and a woman stomping their feet, dressed in full regalia, a live guitarist behind it all, that was really fun and the dancers are quite talented. That seems to start a little later, and the place fills up around that time.
Unique restaurant with good tapas and paella. The staff was friendly and the service was good. Prices were on the high side for the portion sizes.
Excellent food, seafood paella is superb, calamari, spanish tortilla and caprese salad, just delicious. Perfect place to have small tapas plates to try different things.
The food is good I'm not use to Spanish cuisine but the flavors OMG, service is also nice and helpful, small and cozy place, perfect to talk and share a good time, I would suggest the eggplant tapas You won't believe it, a must in the place
Walked into this place by accident, and decided to see it through. The wine selection nice - I asked the server behind the bar, Temo, for a recommendation of a medium dry, and he let me taste a couple. There was a man playing Spanish guitar in the corner, and the lighting/decor is friendly. One downside is that the portions aren't that big - however, the food is delicious and the glasses of wine are a decent size.
Fabulous authentic Peruvian food. Ceviche was wonderful with mussels, squid, scallops, and beans. Grilled octopus was the best I have had since visiting Portugal last summer. Great portion and grilled perfectly, and served with potato and asparagus. A true culinary delight!
Tapas were amazing! The food is wonderful here. The only reason for the 4 stars was the paella was just a tad too salty. Other than that everything from the atmosphere to the food is just wonderful.
Good food and good music. This was an evening well spent with family and friends. I was able to try Spanish beer, home-made paella and authentic flamenco...
The food was delicious. The paella in squid ink was Devine but the reason I would give it a three stars would be because of the costumer service we weren’t greeted when we went in and the waitress was a bit pushy with her recommendations. We asked for water it wasn’t until the third time that it was brought to the table.
The food was decent but the service and the attentiveness to detail by the waiter as well as the overall expensiveness of the menu was a turn off. I’ve been to Spain before and to other cities in the USA and have tried authentic Spanish cuisine including Paella Valenciana and Patatas Bravas and the food today didn’t knock my socks off (the bravas were not crispy at all and were quite soggy). In fact my friends and I had a few problems. First off, when we ordered drinks my friend never got the drink he asked for at all, he was forgotten about by the waiter. I had asked specifically for two different things, one was Estrella GALICIA and the waiter brought me an Estrella Damm. Second, I specifically ordered a Paella Valenciana for it comes with chicken, sausage, vegetables and seafood and what we got was NOT The Valenciana but just seafood and one of my friends (the same one who didn’t get his drink at first - it was an iced tea for crying out loud) didn’t enjoy it because he doesn’t like seafood and wanted the one with chicken and chorizo sausage. He finally did get his tea later after reminding the waiter who forgot and the paella was not bad but my friend did not enjoy it and I told the waiter that and he said sorry but we spent so much money and didn’t get the best service and got the wrong stuff we didn’t ordered so I am a bit upset and turned off from this place. I hope the manager will do the right thing and contact me directly because I left a comment card there but I’m not sure if they read it so this is why I’m reviewing it here...
We decided to celebrate our family event. But such an awful service made us very upset so we won't recommend this restaurant until the service improves. However, paella and bailaores were amazing.
Not recommended. We came to have a dinner with my wife and baby. But the server said that they are fully booked for tonight. It was kinda strange because more than a half of tables was not occupied. So we ordered the food to go. And we waited around 15-20 minutes. Nobody came during this period. Then we took a food to have a dinner at park next to play ground. But they didn't put any napkins or forks inside the boxes with food. The food itself wasn't horrible. Really nice stuffed peppers. Espanola tortilla - average quality. Experience total: 2 stars
The service was not that good, I had to ask for a refill three different times. The server only came to the table one time to see how everything was, and I had to ask for the check several times. The show was also not what I expected a dog cage is bigger then the stage. The dancer was every good but only danced to three songs. The singer was not that good. As far as the food it was just ok, nothing to brag about for the price.
Food was very good. Wine was acceptable. Had a party of four on a Friday night and despite spending several hundred dollars we consistently suffered the "get out" stare. We arrived with reservations 30 minutes or so before the musicians. They played three songs (with a 10 minute break in between each one) and left. It was a little embarrassing as we brought in friends from out of state and it was not our first time. Our server was rude and mostly sat at the bar eyeing us down. If not for him, if have bought two more bottles for the table. I just felt uncomfortable.
The service here was terrible. They forgot one tapa and another came out when dinner was already served. They messed up one dinner and had to reorder another dinner because it never came. We asked for a napkin, it never came. We had to go to the bar to get napkins. We had to ask for water more than once to finally get it. The entertainment was good and the sangria was decent, but I would never come here again.
This is the worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant in South Florida, Im a person of a few words but I had to review this place. The food is very low quality and their prices are over the top their kitchen is the size of a 1/2 a bathroom. AND THE Service, that was the cherry on top. Full of Attitude, no respect, Sadly I do not recall the name of the male hispanic waiter. I WILL NEVER GO INTO THAT PLACE AGAIN AND NO, I'D NOT RECOMMEND ANYBODY TO GO THERE IN MY LIFE TIME. I took pics of the waiter and posted them. Please save yourself from a bad time.
I went to this place on a Friday early evening and the turned me away because they do not take walk in customers only by reservation and there were plenty of tables available. We were a party of 4 and 1 child. My cousin had just arrived from the middle east from the military. We decided to eat across the street at Kusifay and watched to see if they lied to us. We finished our meal paid and no one ever sat on the table. The man that told us that they serve only by reservation was very rude. It seems to me that they might be a bit prejudice since I couldn't find anywhere in their website that it was only by reservation. By the way we spent $200 plus tip for our meal that evening. They will never earn my hard earned money. If you own a business and is by reservation only you must post it at the entrance or in your website...
The portions are extremely small for the prices they charge. My fiance who is from Spain was extremely disappointed. They advertise blood sausage (morcilla) from Burgos and it's definitely not from there. Their croquetas tapas is a joke. The champiñones al ajillo was descent. And I am still in shock that they charge 12 for huevos estrellados. It's two fried eggs with frozen fries. The bread was good. We didn't eat the paella but saw it at another table. That was def not a Spanish paella.
I have ordered the Paella with them a couple of times and I am alergic to shrimp. The first time (in person) I asked if I could have it without shrimp they said "of course". When the food came out, it had shrimp. When I brought up the issue, the self claimed owner (lady) told me I had not asked for it without shrimp and that regardless they couldn't do it without shrimp. After an ongoing back and forth, I told her to forget it. Since then I tried to give them another chance. The second and last time, I ordered over the phone and made sure to reiterate over and over again that I was alergic. When I picked it up, sure enough it had shrimp. I made complaints, but all they could say is "there is nothing we can do".. AVOID! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!
Celebrated Valentines Day here, our first visit to this place. I've eaten paella for 30 years but shortly after we left I felt nauseous and suffered all night.
My WORST reservation experience ever & I work as an event planner. I made a reservation for 18 via OpenTable for my mother's SURPRISE 60th birthday this Friday. I based my decision off of a review I saw here where they handled a group of 29 beautifully. Well I missed the part in the review where they mention they've been going there for years. I myself had never & will never visit this establishment. After making the reservation my father called the restaurant with questions and spoke with Alejandro. Alejandro was extremely rude to my father over the phone. So much so Dad was left feeling uneasy and wanted to cancel but with guests confirmed and the date so close he felt it was better to move forward. Besides, flamenco dancing is what Mom wants & we wanted to make her happy. Alejandro called me yesterday & asked for credit card information to hold the reservation. I was taken aback because there was no mention of a credit card requirement on their website or on OpenTable. Remembering he had already spoken to my Dad and how Dad was treated I was leery of giving my credit card info. I asked why it wasn't mentioned to my Dad a few days before or mentioned on their website or OpenTable. At this point Alejandro became IRATE, RUDE and GROTESQUE. He was yeling, screaming about a 10 ppl reservation and that he was canceling them both. I was confused and tried to clarify my reservation via OpenTable was for 18. Alejandro continued to yell and interrupt me while I was speaking. I was flabbergasted at the level of anger a restaurant manager (Alejandro said he was not the owner but part of the Domingo family) whose business is to serve others would spew over the phone to a complete stranger & potential patron. I gave him my credit card to hold the reservation again worried about Mom's 60th. Spoke to Dad and we agreed, based on 2 different conversations on 2 separate dates, this man was DISGUSTING over the phone. There is NO WAY he could handle a group of 18 (which he himself mentioned) and offer the type of service and experience my mother deserves any day of the year let alone her 60th birthday. I called Alejandro back 5x, no answer. I left a voicemail to cancel (also canceled via OpenTable) and received no return call. When I called my credit card lender, they had billed my card WITHOUT authorization. Long story short, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE based on my PHONE CONVERSATION with Alejandro alone. I could not allow my parents, friends and family to spend a dime in a place that treats people this way. HORRIBLE first & last impression. I had chosen the location based on a review I saw on here mentioning a group of 29 and how Alejandro & company handled it beautifully. I didn't think the most important part of that review was 'Have been coming here for years'. Makes me believe they were regulars or friends/family of the Domingo family (owners) because there is NO WAY Alejandro has any concept of customer service or the power of word of mouth. Luckily we were able to find a location for Mom and the service there so far has been THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE of Buleria's. Thank you Uncle Julio's in Mizner for reminding us what classy & excellent customer service sounds like.
Ended up canceling our food and asking for the bill. We were among the 1st in and after the 2 next to us, who arrived 15mins after us, got all their food and a 7 top, 5 top and a few 4's who arrived after us got their food. We were left with empty glasses and plates after only 2 of our tapas came out. Felt completely ignored!
Service is way too slow and they prioritize smaller tables over their bigger ones dont recommend to take your whole family. Went for my sisters birthday and they took way too long it took 2 hours just for us to start getting food
Very disappointed about the food quality. We have been at the restaurant several times in the past and paella was always good very tasty. Today they only had 3 shrimp, 3 mussels and 3 clams with hardly any chicken and sausage for 2 people in the paella. But if you like rice this is the place to go!
