Tip: Try the carne guisada, which reminds some customers of homemade comfort food. Be aware that the green sauce is very hot.

My favorite restaurant for authentic Mexican food! I have to eat at Olivia's when I'm visiting home!

The chicken fajita Gordita! Delish! Compliments to the chef!
Quick service, friendly staff. Randomly chose while driving through town!
Super breakfast tacos and much needed coffee.
Loved the food its just like grandma used to make staff is very friendly
Best Mexican food in Hondo, and the staff is friendly as they are helpful and courteous.
Food is always good and delicious 😋
Waitress was really good and attentive. Food was excellent and at fair price.
I really like everything I've tried. I always get takeout and it's awesome. Awesome lady behind the register.
The food is so good. Although it is a wait for the food. But it only means it is being made fresh and made delicious.
Best Papas Ranchera taco I've ever had. Cute little restaurant and the owner is just so nice and friendly.
Some of the servers are friendly, and some are not. No smile unless you are regular.
Olivia's has very good food that is served by one of the friendly waiting staff. For a small locally owned establishment they are able to keep the prices reasonable. Overall this is a great place to get a meal. 😁
Small little place, but worth the stop!
Stopped on our way to Corpus, saw the location off over the tracks…..best stop ever for breakfast! It was awesome! From PA and we visit our parents from Utopia Tx and we will definitely be back! Thank you!
This restaurant was recommended to me. I will 110% go back again! Their food was excellent, the service was great and I loved the environment. 10 out of 10 would recommend Olivia's Restaurant if you're feeling some pretty good Mexican food!
Awesome food, really good service, and very reasonable prices. We're glad we stopped!
A hole in the wall eatery. Very good food. Staff is very friendly. It's a small restaurant with limited sitting room so at lunch time it gets a little crowded. Food is mexican and it's homemade, no doubt about that. With the exception of Miguel's down the road this is one of the best mexican restaurants in Hondo. My only complaint - they close at 2pm.
Picky people need to go home and cook there own eggs... If the dish is heated how is your food cold... I travel from San Antonio to eat here with my dad 92, two uncle's in there 80s there has been a good warm atmosphere always and welcome smile... Thank food cooking our food Olivia.....
Food served nice and hot. Very good food and service. Definitely would recommend 👌
Small family owned restaurant, great enchiladas and chicken & beef tacos. Clean facilities, good value, great food and excellent service.Wished I lived nearby so I could eat here again!
Me crazy. But their hamburger and fries are GREAT. Also the mex-food is GREAT, I KNO.. MY GIRL NEVER FINISHES HERS.. IT THAT MUCH. SO I DO.. FINISH IT, THAT IS....
The food is always amazing and delicious!! My family absolutely loves this place! Everything is homemade and so so sooo good!!
Best Mexican food in Medina county, hands down.
Loved this tiny little restaurant. The service was wonderful and the food was amazing. WARNING! The green sauce is super flavorful, but HOT!
Open for Christmas Eve lunch - good super nacho’s! Nice service. Very reasonable prices.
The food was amazing & didn't take too long nor was it expensive. My friend Ruby had a Bob's Special. It came with rice beans, a crispy taco, enchilada, and chalupa.i gmhaf the chicken fajita gordita & ff's. It was super good! Stop by & try it sometime when you're passing thru Hondo..
The most amazing food that I’ve ever had. SO CHEAP for Mexican food. Salsa is the best and chips were perfect
We stopped in for breakfast. The staff was friendly and helpful. Service was prompt. The tacos were delicious. I had coffee. It was good also. The restaurant was clean and well maintained. They had a wide variety of food on their menu. The prices were reasonable. I would definitely recommend this place and would go there again.
We love eating there Tiffany the owner is amazing and friendly..The Carne Guisada is so good it reminds me of my late mom's food..it actually took me back in time...Great place .....
Maybe the best enchiladas I've ever had. And now they're back to being open Monday thru Friday, 8:00 to 2:00 and serving breakfast all day.
This is a five star working class persons Mexican food cafe. The chips and warm dipping salsa were amazing as well as the wonderful Spanish rice and carne guisada. The molé sauce on the enchiladas was delicious. The prices were very very reasonable. We are not locals but will return here to eat when we are nearby.

Olivia's in Hondo texas is good food good service and atmosphere
Slow but good delicious pancakes
Clean...Good Food...Good Service...Good People.
Tried the Olivia’s Favorite, medium rare ribeye was delicious!
Good food. Good service. But they only take cash.
It was good as always, they never serve enough food though 😝 It was my LUV's fav place ❤
Stopped on the way back from Garner State Park and the staff was kind and the food was good
Stopped here on way home the river. Good homemade food. Clean and great service
Good food, friendly service - we especially like the super nachos!
Hard working friendly server. Great prices. Good food. Mexican food. Wish it served beer. Only open for breakfast and lunch. I actually loved the place.
Pros: In general good food is made there. Cheese is good. We usually get the bean and cheese tacos. Cons: Food isn't consistently good. Tortillas can be doughy.
The food was good. Salt, however, was the dominant seasoning in the flavor. I will say, though, this place is better than most Mexican restaurants I've tried in San Antonio. I enjoy and appreciate that everything is homemade right down to the chips and salsa, and the other salsas they offered. Their menu is small, but reasonably priced. There is room for improvement, but I would still come here again.
This is a nice place to dine for Mexican food, but the time that they are open is very short. You wont often find it packed here, but it doesn't take much since this restaurant is smaller than most. The cost of food here is what most restaurants are priced at and the food is great in taste, but don't expect chips and salsa to be complementary.

Good food . Simple friendly setting
Small place family owned. Food is ok. Not much variety. Good value. Friendly.
The portions were good along with the food, but the service was very slow for such a small place.
The staff was nice. The food was good. The food could of been a little hotter. (it was lukewarm) .We will stop by again if we have to leave town because of a hurricane.
Great greeting, had an old school Spanish vibe which we all want when we about to eat Spanish food, great tasting food , I recommend it, great culture great food!! I gave it a 3n a half , reasons being "location" and "hours"
The breakfast food is good, the staff was a bit stand offish. It didn't seem to busy. Maybe they prefer locals.
Fries were soggy not even cooked and service was alittle slow but they were all nice and polite. And 3.75 for Gravy really that's just insane for the small amount of gravy I reseived
It was alright but I was expecting it to be really good. The prices were good and it was plenty of food but the papas looked like they were boiled and the hot sauce was bland. On the bright side the pancakes were really fluffy.
Food is typical Tex-Mex and pretty good. Clean place. The negative is that they cut corners on condiments; no red salsa, no Tabasco or other bottled hot sauce and no sugar free syrup for pancakes. Service was only passable and order came out really slow.
No breakfast. It's too bad. And no breakfast tacos. It's a weird setup but food was ok.
I don’t like this small restaurant. The food is not good, slow service. Be aware, next day I was checking my purchase and there was $2.11 extra charge on my debit card that was not on the receipt. I called the restaurant and was told they did not add the $2.11 to the bill. I called the bank and was told Olivias did add the $2.11 to the bill. I understand the need to offset credit card charges but TELL the customer. Update... I ate here again and the bill was given to me by the waiter. Nothing was itemized, it was just a piece of paper with a total amount hand written. It seemed higher that it should be. I ask the cashier to add up my food items again and the total was $5 less. You draw your own conclusion.

Food was OK but not worth the wait if you're in a rush!
Steaks advertised as ribeye steaks are not ribeye but are standard Mexican breakfast steaks with bones and lots of gristle
Gave this place 2 stars because the people were friendly and the food portion was good. However, food tasted horrible, drinks and salsa tasted very watered down. This place is not authentic mexican food in any way. won't be returning!
The waitress that greeted me was very kind. When I asked if they had WiFi to the other waitress she said yes. When I asked again, waiting for the password to be able to get connected she said “Oh well I cant give you that”. So, instead of letting me know they don’t she made it seem like they did. The food was ok. The steak in my salad was a little tough and the size (though I was warned it was small), surprised me as it was like a side salad w a couple pieces of steak. Overpriced for what it was. It was muggy and stuffy( AC must of been out). Wouldn’t recommend for salads.
Food was good not great. One star. Staff was very polite and additive. Two stars Now when you give a grown man a small plate. For 10.66. He's going to have something to say. Like" ma'am I'm still hungry." Please reduce your price to comply with the portion of you food. 10/21/2020. Sorry mate. My person came into your establishment by itself. I was alone sir. It was lunch time, was looking for a big meal. You serve food that is know for its portion size. Sorry, I expected more of your restaurant. I also don't know the full named person you committed me of knowing. Just don't want any injustice of lunch.

Absolutely the worst restaurant in hondo.
Very small breakfast tacos for the price. The carne guisada taco was not what we were expecting, very little meat.
Went in sat down order water 🥴NO LEMONS OR LIMES... Order a cheese burger with vegetables on the side.. AND WAS TOLD THAT HAD A EXTRA CHARGE 😡😡😡😡 I LEFT
Absolutely horrible!! If you are from out of town DON'T STOP THERE! RUDE. First to get table last to be served and get cold food! If you want Breakfast bring a jacket for the cold you get!
Very slow , they need more staff in the kitchen to get food out faster, took an hour to get two beef tacos with no side just two ground beef tacos
Ordered a nachos deluxe, literally 8 chips with very little bean, cheese, meat... more like an appetizer...smh... not worth the $10.42...👎
Sat 1230 - 13:00. Ordered food with no modifications and waited for 30 minutes with no updates. Dont come if you are in a hurry. Other people arrived before me and still did not have their food. Food was luke warm and nothing to brag about.
Wait staff was slowing bringing drinks after ordering, took over 40 minutes just to serve us 2 breakfast tacos. Had to get up and get some utensils and napkins since none were given to us. Food was good but not worth waiting so long for.
I loved this place, told everyone about it- VERY DISAPPOINTED- had family visiting took my 3 adult relatives, a 8 month old and a 6 year old- they charged me a 25% gratuity on 6 people- not disclosed (I had 1baby who didn’t eat and 1 child) then upon checkout let me leave an additional 15% tip- so this waiter (rude) was letting me leave a $30+ dollar tip on a $64 bill- didn’t bat an eye- I live in this town and support small businesses- everyone in town should know this. We went back and got my tip back since I kindly tipped a mafia level 25% Vic out of principle- I will never dine there again and I’ve notified all my friends and family who won’t dine there now also. Sad. Not a lot options but it felt dirty and gross to do that to a customer and I felt taken advantage of.
Local person here, first visit, very disappointed. Only half of the tables were full when I orderd. Took 45 minutes to receive my order, just one plate. Waiter was not friendly or attentive. He would help people that just walked in, while ignoring those who had already been seated and waiting several minutes. This shows they favor certain people, or that they simply don't pay attention. Either way, not good. Restaurant was very hot and stuffy inside, not adequate air conditioning. Food was not good at all, small portions, full prices. Cheese enchiladas were tiny and bland. Rice and beans tasted old. They falsely listed carne guisada on menu. It's not stewed meat at all. The guisada was simply a thin steak, cut into squares, cooked and coated in watery gravy. Was chewy and tough like a bad steak. Not tender and stewed like actual guisada. First time to ever have chewy "guisada". Overall this place cuts corners, is overwhelmed, and doesn't seem to care or put forth effort. Glad I avoided for several years, will not be back.
