We thought we were going in for Subway. Instead we wisely chose Mudears. Everything was so tasty we went back for a cinnamon roll. Going to try to replicate the cabbage at home. Chicken, Mac n cheese, rice, dressing and gravy and cabbage. (Choose 2 sides) Plus a dinner roll. Very reasonable!

This is a local dive inside the strip mall behind Liberty Gas station. It shares space inside with the Subway. Nothing fancy. Clearly the locals know this place as they come for take out and eat in. Here you will find southern cooking served at the counter. Ribs, very crispy catfish, fried chicken. Southern sides too. Such as Lima beans and corn bread dressing. Very friendly. Generous portions. Great find.

Not the prettiest place to look at, but you're going to get your bang for your buck. I had the fried tilapia to perfection with collard greens and mac n' cheese. Only thing that was missing was hot sauce. I had to power through my fullness to get the cornbread down. They do not skimp on portions. Friendliest people you could ever meet. Next time I'm in Lowndes county I'm going here again.

It's counter service with decent menu that changes what is available daily with good food, large servings, and good prices. A good break from Mexican or fast food, the only other choices for lunch.

Huge portions, friendly staff. Great food! Military gets a drink free! Bbq chicken falls off the bone & is enough to feed an army-I think they gave me an entire bird or 2! Cornbread dressing is just like mama's! Only complaint is the candied yams tasted like they came from a can...And petty alert: no jalapeno cornbread, just standard savory kind. Update: lemon cake is generous & moist, but wish it was more lemony.

If you looking for some good southern flavors, here they are. And, if your like me and have a picky passenger, Subway is in the same location. I had the lunch special with 2pc fired chicken, Mashed Potatoes and Collard greens. All was good. I would have preferred meatier chicken, but I guess you get what they bring ya to cook!
