Opinions de The Mixer Hopkinsville
The Mixer has a great warm and inviting atmosphere even seated at the bar. The Brioche French Toast from the brunch menu was amazing. Very thick cut brioche, seemed like half a loaf of bread, that was cooked beautifully with flavor all the way through. As expected, parking a larger vehicle in the downtown area has its challenges but it’s not a deterrent. I will definitely be returning for brunch.
This was our first dinner out since moving to the Hopkinsville area and we were not left disappointed. The menu and all our choices- happy hour cocktails, charcuterie board, wedge salad, lobster ravioli, and fried catfish catch of the week- were both more delicious and filling that we had anticipated. Our server Dustin was knowledgeable and attentive, without being overbearing. The atmosphere was nice. The live guitarist really added a pleasant touch to the evening. Excited to return in the future.
We chose The Mixer in Hopkinsville, KY for our wedding dinner with family, and it was a wonderful experience! 💍✨ The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. They took time to explain the menu, offered helpful suggestions for our family, and made sure everything was just right. Our drinks and food arrived quickly, and everything was fresh and absolutely delicious. The sweetest surprise was being given a complimentary dessert to celebrate our wedding—it made the evening feel extra special. 💕 We are so thankful for the experience and highly recommend The Mixer. We’ll definitely be back!
I recently visited TheMixer at 114 E 6th St, in Hopkinsville, KY. My son and I were visiting the area and stopped in for lunch. The atmosphere was great and the wait staff were very good. I ordered a salad and it was very tasty. I would certainly recommend going back for another selection on the menu. No problem w parking.
We love the Mixer. I’d go as far as to say it’s the best food we’ve had in the Clarksville/Hopkinsville/Nashville area. Great variety. Fantastic consistency! You can tell the staff and chefs strive for perfection. The owners are wonderful and strive to welcome each patron as family. Oh did I mention the food! Expertly handcrafted with small town prices! The building is almost as beautiful as the food and they also have a bakery next door that supplies all the Mixer’s baked goods. So you are also getting fresh baked! If you haven’t been you are truly missing out!
What’s not to like - delicious food, great cocktails, and good vibes. If you’re a bourbon (cocktail) drinker this place is great. I had their take on an old fashioned called the Fireside. Very good. Also had the Ode to Chaz, a rye and scotch blend. Also good. Josh, one of the bartenders, will treat you well. Ordered shrimp and grits based on the other reviews and didn’t disappoint. Good sausages, good shrimp, seasoned well. Would recommend you try this place out. A worthwhile visit if in Hopkinsville.
This is by far, one of the best places in hopkinsville. For the first time trying this restaurant, I was not dressed appropriately, but they welcomed me with open arms. Everyone is so welcoming. It is refreshing to see in this town. The food here is so flavorful and beautifully plated. I really didn't except to see such an outstanding restaurant here in town. I will DEFINITELY be sending A LOT of people this way.
Josh was a great waiter and bartender. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was breathtaking. The steak was decent not out of the park but all the other food was great.
Absolutely fantastic place! The food is delicious, great flavor profile, beautiful presentation and perfectly done. I had the catch of the day which happened to be red snapper, my husband had the shrimp and grits. Both dishes were delicious! (forgot to take photos until we were almost finished Lol) Of course I had to try the coffee and holy moly it was AhhhhhMAZing!!!! I had the Cuban which was delightfully delicious omg I need one of those every day! The service was absolutely outstanding! If I could give this place 10 stars I would! Highly recommend!!!
I love The Mixer! Most recently went for Mother’s Day brunch, which was a four-course limited (but amazing) menu. The ceviche was as delicious as any I’ve had in the Caribbean, Florida, or Mexico. The drinks were just delicious (I recommend the spicy Bloody Mary or Espresso Martini). It is not “cheap,” so you certainly get what you pay for! I’ll be back over and over again!
Finally a place like we had in Cali! Delicious food, fantastic atmosphere & good service. I don't care that i had to drive the 25 min from Clarksville/Oak Grove, it was soooooo worth it. The pork chop was amazing and so was the Mushroom Stroganoff with perfect al dente noodles. We will definitely be back!
Great food and service. Will definitely be back the next time we’re passing through Hoptown. Have also had coffee here twice. I look forward to being able to check out their bakery on another trip.
Went with some friends on NYE and sat at the bar. The bartender was phenomenal and did a great job in educating us on different drinks while we waited for our food. Food was absolutely delicious! We really enjoyed the atmosphere. I would definitely come back and recommend it to anyone!
Great food. Atmosphere is wonderful. Service from Caitlyn was great. She did a great job with recommendations. Ordered a couple drinks made by Drew and they were beautiful and really good. Would recommend.
I am a food junkie and have had the pleasure of eating at a lot of really good restaurants in my life. Not only did The Mixer have the best pork chop I've ever had, it may be the best meal i've ever had! I would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking to eat a REALLY good meal with a fantastic environment. The pricing is EXTREMELY fair! It cost around 60 bucks for my wife and I and she even had a mixed drink. I will be making this one of my regular places to eat and is worth the drive even from Nashville!
Wow! The Mixer has really improved the menu! Wonderful lunch. Exceptional service. This menu is WELL worth thr visit! THANK YOU, Graham, Heather, Chef, and Team for such an exceptional restaurant on a par with any cosmopolitan town or city! The buffalo artichokes, goat cheese brulee salad, and Stuffed Poblano Pepper are fantastic!
Most beautiful new restuarant in the area! Food is fabulous & the wait staff are wonderful! Pastries & coffee are the very best around. All pastries are made from scratch. Atmosphere is casual & very welcoming. At the same time, this is the place for a very special night out!
Not only is the dinner amazing here, but so is the breakfast! I’ve been here a bunch of times for dinner and there’s nothing bad on their menu! For breakfast, they focus more on pastries type foods like scones, muffins, and quiches. We loved their bacon quiche with a latte and a blueberry scone. The scone isn’t overpowering with sweetness but just enough not to taste bland. And it was warm in the middle! Great coffee, great cocktails at night (The Monica is my favorite) and overall great service.
A grand, grand place to go. Been here a couple of times, and there's always something new every time we go. Every last thing has tasted delicious and the customer service is great as well. Will be returning soon.
I had heard of this place, then it was unexpectedly closed, now it’s back open and we’re glad we went:) we made reservations through google and received the table requested:) Skyler our server was knowledgeable and answered all of our questions while giving sound advice. Bacon wrapped teriyaki shrimp appetizer was awesome. Shrimp and grits with celery added to it- full of flavor and loved the crunch. My best friend and I discovered Espresso martinis in Charleston, SC at a restaurant many years ago- always try one when it’s on the menu- this one nailed it- they call their version “the Blue Note”. Delicious dessert cocktail:) Manager stopped by to talk with us too-enjoyable conversation. We’ll be back! Glad the roof was finally fixed from the wind storm-Worth the drive from Clarksville:)
Great atmosphere. Favorite spot for a great steak, lunch, cocktails & coffee. Don’t miss the buffalo artichoke hearts or trying their coffee either in the mornings or for dessert!
The Pan Roasted Chicken is amazing but the side of Brussels sprouts are from other world. I have been traveling to Hoptown since 2013 and now this is my favorite place.
Best place in hopkinsville, i absolutely love that they serve coffee!
This is a beautiful restaurant in Hopkinsville. Both the food and drinks were delicious. Definitely worth stopping by and trying out.
Wonderful atmosphere with great food. Have had many servers here and all have done a superb job.
Went in yesterday evening with 3 adults and a toddler for dinner. Server was awesome and on top of every aspect of our dining experience and made sure include our toddler which is rare. We ordered 3 appetizers including the Buffalo chicken dip with pita chips the focaccia and our favorite the Cajun egg rolls. When our main orders were made we got the Cajun fish tacos, the pulled pork sandwich and the bone in pork chop. Overall a 5 star experience would probably go again if I had the opportunity. Again the server really made the experience!
One of the greatest dining experiences ive had in a while. Our first visit was nothing less than awesome. Shrimp and grits are great. Looking forward to visit again. A great place with great food with awesome service!
Great place, Great salmon, Great atmosphere, saw two stray cats running across the street. The waiter was very kind, and had taken note of my gluten allergy, there are gluten free options other than salad. 👍
Food was delicious and so was the coffee. Very calm and relaxing atmosphere that feels welcoming. Definitely recommend visiting.
The burger special was perfect. The atmosphere was nice with ambient lighting and not a lot of noise. My favorite part was the London Fog. The service was quick and our server was kind. It’s the best I’ve ever had!
Rarely do I rate perfect scores. I'm a chef who got married mid September and couldn't find a venue in Clarksville to accommodate my pallet. I stumbled upon this gem right outside of TN. Cozy, dim lit, affordable that gave a city appeal. (I'm from Chicago). We had a very large party and was able to reserve the upper deck where we were served exclusively. We had space for children, an area for our cake, and great staff who answered every hungry excited guest we had. I can not remember our main servers name, (my apologies) but being in the hospitality industry affords me the ability to enjoy and recognize controlled chaos. They handled us with care and immense patience and we're forever grateful. Love, The Pitts
We came for food and were gifted a whole experience. The ambiance, cleanliness, and service from the moment we walked in to the drinks and food - everything was balanced and engaging of all senses. This isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a craft.
Loved the coffees/mocha. What an amazing experience. I want to have all my birthdays here! I wish I knew enough people to have a party. 10/10 would come back again.
The Mixer is always a great choice for a great menu, quality food and dining experience. They offer one of the better coffee opportunities and the only evening coffee option. Our server, Shelby (i think) was absolutely incredible!!!!!
When I tell you the service was amazing, I mean it. The egg rolls were absolutely delicious and my sister's salmon was fantastic, Not even joking. Our server was so polite and my sister was given a delicious piece of cake for her birthday!!! We will definitely be back because we saw so many things we wanted to try
The Mixer in Hopkinsville has an inviting, laid-back vibe that makes it easy to relax as soon as you walk in. The atmosphere feels warm and social — a mix of modern café and casual lounge, with just enough energy to make it lively without being loud. We ordered two Bloody Marys, and they were dressed perfectly — packed with flavor, presentation on point, and exactly what you want from a well-made brunch cocktail. The chicken salad croissant was outstanding: light, fluffy bread with a rich, balanced chicken salad that tasted fresh and homemade. The Reuben panini had great flavor, though it could’ve used a bit more sauerkraut and corned beef to round it out. The only odd part was the lack of plates, which made eating a little awkward, but not enough to ruin the experience. Overall, it’s a great spot for brunch or lunch, and I’d definitely come back to try their dinner service.
Nice ambiance because of high ceiling. We went there for brunch so there is no a lot of people we have a lot of seat to choose. The coffee they served was great nice combinations and also the tuna crossiant was fantastic taste. I really like it.
My girlfriend and I are enjoyed our first experience at this restaurant; it was very pleasant, warm, and enjoyable, which was shocking due to the amount of hard surfaces. Every single one of the employees were friendly and welcoming, and even though we waited almost an hour for a bar top it felt like only a handful of minutes; very cozy and enjoyable 🙂 With that being said, atmosphere is only a part of the restaurant experience, and unfortunately the food did not live up to our expectations. Let’s get this out of the way first: they are WAYYYYYY overpriced. I’m sorry, but they are. $20 for a French dip for example…In Hopkinsville nonetheless…and it’s not just one item on the menu; it’s everything. I don’t have a problem with expensive food, but only if it wows you to the point of justification, and we were more or less disappointed with the execution of each dish. Tail-on for shrimp and grits? Using a different lettuce for a wedge salad? We just weren’t wowed by anything (except the bill), and it’s not like we’re snobby food critics who have unreasonable expectations. I’m not trying to be harsh…I promise…but I also just have to be truthful. Would we go back? I’m not sure really. The atmosphere was perfect, but at some point you have to eat, and I’m not sure I’m ready to play menu roulette on my dime. The food was not bad…it just wasn’t as good as the menu price demanded. 3.5/5 but I’ll give them a four because of the atmosphere 🙏
Hubby and I visited for a weekday dinner date last night and really enjoyed our visit. Highly recommend the Cajun Sausage and Pepper Egg Rolls and the Bang Bang Shrimp!
The Mixer Went for lunch and had the chicken sandwich, wife had the fish tacos. Most menu ingredients are locally sourced and prepared with Love. Service was friendly and fast. Delicious Coffee. They offer wide variety of beers and cocktails. Handicap friendly!
12/29/22 - Visiting from Washington State and found this place via Google and decide to give it a try. Started with coffees and both were so good. The coffee on the left is a Chai Tea Latte and the other was a Salted Caramel Bourbon. For lunch we had the Reuben and other is a Goat Cheese Brulee & Steak salad. My only request is you incorporate horseradish into the Reuben, it needs a kick. We will definitely go back the next time we're in town.
We love it here. Tasty, nice atmosphere, worth the drive from Clarksville. Perfect date night spot.
Food, service and atmosphere were great! We'd made reservations for a Saturday night at 6:15. It didn't take long for us to be seated upstairs. We tried the focaccia bread and hummus appetizer, then sirloin steaks for our entrees. I subbed the fingerling potatoes for truffle fries and added a side of garlic aoli. Everything was cooked almost perfectly and delicious. Wait time for our food was not slow; we actually enjoy being able to savor our dishes and not feel rushed with plates coming out too soon. We will definitely return to try breakfast or lunch offerings
I was pleasantly surprised by this place! I was traveling solo for work and wanted something nice but casual. Sat at the bar and the server/bartender Josh was really friendly. I had the crispy skin salmon and it was exactly what I was looking for. They also had low ABV and NA cocktails which was a nice option.
Nice upscale restaurant. I would give 4-5 stars for the ambience. For an appetizer we had the Buffalo Artichoke Hearts. I liked them but my wife did not like how tangy the sauce was. I had the double cut pork chop, very good. It was served on a spiced apple chutney, I don’t like apples but it tasted like spiced apples. The smoked Mac and cheese was good. I also ordered the Coconut Brussels Sprouts. I was hoping they would have been like the roasted ones that I’ve had in three other places. They were not, the were sautéed and had a peanut butter taste. My wife had Mixerburger, it was two smashed patties and had no real flavor. We will try it one time later, after the menu changes again.
It’s good. The Cheesesteak had a good flavor, was well seasoned. The Chicken Sandwich was messy but tasty. There was a lot more bun than chicken. We had the chocolate croissant which was unrecognizable. We also had the cinnamon roll, which was tasty but not memorable. Other chocolate croissants we have tried have had a better flaky texture and buttery taste. The boys had grilled cheese and chicken tenders. We were hoping for standard grilled cheese: white bread, American cheese, however there was a orange and white cheese. The server said it was cheddar but it tasted like an aged Colby jack or possibly cheddar with Gruyère. I should have asked before but I wish that restaurants wouldn’t try to elevate and kids grilled cheese and just left it classic. That said, it was tasty to the grownups. We will be interested to come back for supper.
Last Friday evening I met my former classmates for early dinner. I’m visiting from Arizona. My friend had made a reservation for 10. She arrived early, told the hostess she had reservations for 10. Hostess asked where everyone was. She told her they were on the way. Hostess then said I’ll seat you when more of you arrive. That’s fine but she had attitude. We all arrived shortly thereafter. Our waitress was fake friendly, could tell she was not happy to have this table. We placed our drink orders. I was so surprised to see Sonoran Sunset on the menu, that’s so Arizona so I ordered just to try. I must say it was better than some served here in Phoenix. Groups are tough to deal with I know, but also know your spot has to be accustomed to groups. My steak with goat cheese and beets salad was delicious. Everyone was satisfied with drinks and meal. The service was off-putting. We were a group of African Americans and we all got the feeling, we weren’t really welcome there. The look of surprise from other patrons as if we were intruding their spot. I say all that to say this, if your establishment is “Whites Only” post that. Trust and believe we prefer to know that and can certainly dine elsewhere. This is 2025, your staff reflects the owners and service is your industry. Hopkinsville is long overdue for an elevated dining option, but your service needs to match your food and drinks if longevity is your goal! LMB
There were 4 of us. 2 ordered an 8 oz sirloin, well done. 1 ordered a sirloin rare. And 1 ordered the pork chop. All 3 steaks were cold and extremely tough. The pork chop could only be cooked medium, according to the order taker. All meals had good flavor, but that's it. When a party of 4 waits almost an hour and spends $165.00, including tip. The garlic butter should be melting on their steaks, not sitting like frozen butter on top. A professional restaurant should know and be capable of cooking all types of meats and thicknesses, according to the desired customer. If you have to make an excuse, about how the meat must or will come out, then you have the wrong cooks and or equipment. I visited this place with my family, because of a personal great review. My family and I were sadly disappointed. I will visit again, on a more professional level. And for a more enlightening review to the public. The flavors were wonderful and the waiting staff were extremely professional. The bartender never missed a glass and the young lady with the brace on her foot, never slowed down. Thank you for allowing us to observe your place of business...
We drove all the way from Clarksville, Tennessee to try this restaurant out get there at 5 to 9. They take their time cleaning a table for us. They said they’re gonna put us by the bar never notify us that the full menu wasn’t available by the time we sit down and they said oh we’re just on a late night bar menu with appetizers and stuff. What a place. Next time tell people they drive all the way up here to go to your restaurant. Bad business.
I went there for a large group dinner. The atmosphere was about what I expected, and so was the service. It appears to be a bar that's trying to be more.......but it isn't. The prices were, in general, too high for what you get. They botched a few orders in our group, including mine. The salad was too dry. My main course (steak) came out 45 minutes late. The majority of the group had finished their main entree at that point. The potatoes were tasty, but soupy. The steak had obviously been cooked on too high a heat, probably trying to play catch up, because it was burnt on the outside and very rare on the inside. It was unfit to eat. I just gave up and sent it away. It was almost 9pm at that point. Never again.
