Used to go there a lot, since it was near my home. Had food from by ordering both online and in person. The food is great and delicious. Usually I ordered from the "Over Rice" section of the menu. Their gyro over rice is a must try. The best thing is the food is halal. Last time I ordered the falafel and that was also very crispy and cooked finely. I would like to definitely go back.

Best shawarma in HTown, even my dog loves it, I always get his mix shawarma. The Arabic zinger ia a must. I love their pickles and fries, friendly staff

The shape of the sandwiches make this handheld even more easily to eat! The added bonus is they are open late! Great Doordash option!

I have had the pleasure of visiting Abu Omar Halal food truck multiple times during my visits to my sister's place in Houston, and while I haven't had the opportunity to review it until now, I can share my experiences with you. The food truck offers a mix of good and bad experiences, but overall, it has become a regular stop for us. Firstly, it's worth noting that there is no seating arrangement near the food truck, so we usually opt for takeout and enjoy our meal at home. As vegetarians, our go-to order is the Falafel Arabi with fries and garlic sauce, which happens to be my all-time favorite. The combination of crispy falafel, flavorful fries, and the tangy garlic sauce is simply mouthwatering. However, it's worth mentioning that they charge an additional 75 cents for extra sauce, which can be a bit off-putting. While the menu has a variety of options for non-vegetarians, I can only speak to the vegetarian offerings. The Falafel platter and Falafel Arabi have always been delightful, with a perfect balance of flavors and generous portions. On one occasion, they mistakenly served us a lamb Arabi instead of our original order. Luckily, we discovered the error before consuming it, and they promptly replaced it with the correct dish. It was the only time they made a mistake, as our orders have been consistently accurate before and after that incident. Despite the occasional slip-up, the Mediterranean food truck has become our go-to place for delicious Mediterranean cuisine. The flavors are consistently satisfying, and we appreciate the convenience of taking our food to-go. If you're in the mood for flavorful falafel and a taste of the Mediterranean, this food truck is definitely worth a visit.

The location in Cypress is a No, they were out of everything and the flavors of the meat were not that memorable. However the place on Westheimer is incredible!! The cardamom and other seasonings on the beef Arabi are exceptional. I dreamt about that toast beef/burito looking sandwich it was so good! Its all cooked perfectly and a real treat , something fast but fresh and reasonably priced but not cheap. Add a little garlic sauce and its mind blowing! We will be coming back next time we are in this area for sure. I do wish they had a tea, juice or lemonade to drink, currently they only offer water and coke.

We visited this food cart at 12 PM and ordered both chicken and beef shawarma to try. Chicken Shawarma – 5/10 The bread was not traditional shawarma bread, more like a tortilla, which took away from the authentic experience. The garlic paste was also disappointing, as it didn’t resemble the authentic shawarma garlic sauce. Beef Shawarma – 8/10 The beef shawarma was much better than the chicken, with good seasoning and texture. However, it was missing pomegranate molasses and parsley, which would have elevated it to a perfect 10/10. Overall, the food wasn't bad, but it lacked the authentic flavors we expected. A few improvements could make it much better.

Food was not the best it has been. Definitely some consistency issues as well as being overpriced. Paid approximately $14.50 for arabi chicken shawarma with fries. That’s about it. Chicken was meh. Needed more spices or seasoning or something.

Ordered a chicken shawerma plate and a chicken shawerma sandwich on the (I think they called it) "Italian" bread and an order of fries. The shawerma was DRY and had a sour taste (lemon,sumac?) and it also tasted like there was only a single spice in there, not a pleasant flavor. The fries were crispy and I believe they had spices on them. The garlic sauce was terrible. It's overly creamy (I think it's mayo with some garlic in there) and the pickled veg were nothing special, just the regular jarred stuff. The sandwich was terrible. It's more like a quesadilla. I had never in my life seen a shawerma sandwich with cheese in it until today. It had the chicken, garlic "sauce" and loads of cheese and was toasted so the cheese melted. Along with a couple of cokes, we paid $24. Definitely not worth it. Fadi's charges $7 or $8 for a sandiwch and although it's a little on the smaller side, it packs a fantastic amount of flavor. I might come back to try the other items, but will most definitely not try the shawerma again. Also, it took about 25 minutes for the order to be ready and we were the only customers.

Ordered chicken shawarma, no enough mayo layer and zero pickles. Ordered humus, it was supposed to come with pita bread but i just received humus without the pita. Shawarma test worst. I liked it but this time it was not worth it. Successful wasted money

Beef kebab was so overcooked, it’s harder than a shoe sole. Garlic sauce that, everyone talks about, is just Mayo. And they loaded the shawarma wraps with the Mayo so much that you can’t taste anything else. Very disappointing! Yup…look at the picture and you tell me what it looks like…ridiculous 🤣…not the mention how overpriced.

If you order through Uber Eats, you will NOT get what was described in the app. I have attached what I received compared to what the app described. I did not receive olives, lettuce, tomatoes, chick peas, and corn in my falafel with rice dish. Very DISAPPOINTED!!
