Coming on here to leave an amazing review. I walked in this morning and this place must have new management bc it’s never been this friendly in the past. The man and women working were exceptionally nice and helpful! You can tell they actually appreciate the customers and enjoy their jobs. You just don’t find that in the service industry these days so it does not go unnoticed. Stop in for the great smoothies and the wonderful service! Cinnamon banana protein smoothie is awesome.

I had a very dining pleasant experience at Duck N Bao last Saturday.The atmosphere and overall setting was quite elegant and enjoyable to experience. I had the Peking Duck and the Beef Bao which were both cooked perfectly, came hot and fresh and absolutely bursted with flavor. I must give a special shoutout to my server Suat who was simply incredible. His service was quite attentive, he was incredibly friendly and humorous and made the excellent recommendations above for me. His service alone definitely will make me a returning customer to this restaurant.

My family and I absolutely love this retaurant, whether we're popping in for a bite or ordering take out. Some of our favorites are the chicken soup dumplings and minced duck lettuce wraps. We are so glad to have such a good spot within a couple minutes drive of our home.

I had the scallion pancake and the chicken egg rolls, and they were honestly amazing. The egg rolls were the best I’ve ever had—crispy, fresh, and full of flavor. I had Peking duck here yesterday and it was honestly really good—tender, flavorful, and served with fresh veggies and great sauces. It was our first time there , went in the afternoon on a Monday , no wait Our server was really attentive ( wish I remembered his name 😔 ) Had the Hot Sour soup which I can say now is a must Had the Chopped peppers little Octopus ( warning spicy reeeally spicy I did use some of the cheese to cut the spice which i really liked ), Cheese puffs were ordered ( because who doesn't love cheese puffs? ) Garlic spicy Edamame ( they were different i couldn't place the taste ) and the pork soup Duplings , which were great Told they make all their Duplings in house every 2hrs ( I really wanted to see it but sadly .. no ) Convenient location and plenty of parking off Memorial Dr , have to come back and try the Duck ( only reason we didn't try it this time was because we had it last week )

One of my favorite Chinese spots in The Heights! The Eggplant with Garlic Sauce and Mala Sichuan Beef Jerky are always delicious. The Dumplings, Brussels Sprouts, and Spicy Edamame make a great entrance full of flavor. Tried the Crispy Spicy Chicken this time, and while it had good spice, the chicken pieces could be bigger, it felt mostly like crispy batter. I’ve had great service here before, but this time it was just okay. The music was also too loud. That’s why I’m giving 4 stars for service and atmosphere today, but the clean space, nice interior, and well-presented food keep me coming back!

This place is really nice! The restaurant has a really nice theme to it & it was very clean. The service was excellent, every once in awhile someone would walk by & check up on me & also pick up any dishes I was finished with. Everyone was very friendly. As far as the food, the food was great too. I get how some reviewers were complaining how the duck skin wasn't as crispy but does it really need to? I've eaten Peking duck numerous times in my lifetime & yeah sometimes when it's crispy the meat is dry. Duck is different from pork. The duck meat here was very moist, fatty & tender. I do agree with some readers who eat spicy foods. I think our palettes are used to hot/spicy foods so eating something like Duck n Bao can be estranged, but it wasn't that bad either. You get to taste the real full flavors & textures that some times peppers can cover over & mask the taste. Also their crab puffs are one of the best I've eaten. I normally don't order crab puffs at restaurants because you can get them anywhere & a lot of times they're very mediocre but these were bomb! I'm glad I ordered it. The soup dumplings were my least favorite. I think maybe it was the sauce that came with it but it wasn't not good or anything. Overall I would come back again & try other dishes on the menu like their braised pork belly, duck soup & vegetable dishes.

I'm still on the hunt for a great Asian restaurant, since my go-to spot permanently closed a few months ago. 🥹 My husband and I decided to try Duck n Bào after finding them on a Google search for the best Chinese spots in Houston. This location is small, cozy and had moderate to low noise. The customer service was good bc we had an attentive waitress. The food wasn't bad. I enjoyed the crispy chicken rolls & my flaming jumbo shrimp dish, but the beef fried rice that my husband ordered was more gummy/mushy than fried. He ate it, but indicated he wouldn't be rushing back for it. Pricing was somewhat reasonable, though my shrimp dish was a little pricey ($22) for 7-8 shrimp with veggies. I may give it another try, but it definitely looks like we're still in search of another spot similar to or better than our former fave.

Came by for a late Sunday lunch. Very nice wait staff and atmosphere. Love the interior design. The Peking Duck was okay. It did not have a lot of flavor, very watery. Wish it had a bit of salt. Skin was crispy and meat was tender. Their plum sauce taste odd, I would’ve prefer hoisin at this point. We opted for the steam buns instead of pancakes. Half order was enough for two people in my opinion. I did not like their spicy garlic edamame. It was coated in a thick sweet sauce while I was expecting something more savory.

Disappointed with their Peking duck and xiao long bao. Xiao long bao The skin of the xiao long bao is too thick. The texture tastes like steamed buns with yeast in the flour mixture. Xiao long bao’s skin should be paper thin. Issues with their Peking duck: 1. Skin not crispy and too small. They should cut the duck skin into larger rectangles. 2. The duck wasn’t cut properly. The skin and meat should be cut and served separately. They could’ve cooked another dish with the duck meat. 3. Their line cooks do not have the basic knife skills to cut cucumbers into perfect juliennes. The cucumber strips are jagged, irregular, and have different shapes and widths. 4. The chefs at the window are Mexicans, not Chinese, which reflect in their food. I had high hope on them after reading reviews and recommendations online. While their food is not bad and I’ll eat it, it’s nowhere nearly as good as their rave reviews.

I have mixed feelings about my experience. I think I went in with too high of expectations based on local word of mouth. The food was generally good, but didn’t revolutionize anything. It felt on par with a fast casual Asian restaurant. Perhaps I ordered the wrong things. Regardless, the service was very patient with my group, which I appreciated.

While the food is presented in Bento boxes, this is actually a Chinese restaurant. Beautifully appointed space in a generic strip mall location. Lunch was a mixed bag, hence the 3 star review. I enjoyed the general Charles chicken, but my lunch companion, and I both agreed that the beef and broccoli was not really edible - soggy and no flavor. That being said, the next time I have a craving for Chinese food I would give it a second try.

So my partner and I just left from there and the 2 kids behind the counter were working I Such a panicked fashion. Like, energetically flailing and there was only one smoothie order that they were working on. I go up and ask for a gladiator with dates. I'm asked to not order dates because they are running low... An predictable exchange of questions happens and I get my dates. Partner order, all good. We get our order. Mine tastes really good! No dates though. Just extra peanut butter and.. Almond butter? Ah this is my partners order but in a small size. Good but not what I ordered. I taste my partners. It's plain vanilla gladiator with nothing in it. Have already left, we now have to come home and fix our 10 dollars protein and water shake. What did I just pay for? This location is basically not worth coming too unless the family that owns it is there.

Ordered via Uber eats. No protective covering, in some random bag so not sure if it could’ve been tampered with, I ordered in a foam cup and received plastic. People are paying too much money to not get exactly what they ask for or being called to see if a change is ok. People think it’s minor but to someone paying, it’s not. I pay $18 for my order on a $7 smoothie. I expect exactly what I ordered or nothing. Don’t think you can make substitutions for people without asking. We’re in a recession and y’all are playing. My smoothie melts incredibly fast and I drink them OUTSIDE! The foam was to ensure I can drink and get my calories before it’s unsafe to drink due to temperature.

Do NOT buy BOWLS !! These two photos are from different occasions. The left being from today that I ordered from DoorDash. Luckily I was able to get some type of refund for it. The one on the right is from when my brother stopped by and dropped it off last week at my job. Both bowls are less then half way full. It’s really disappointing considering their $14 and they aren’t even halfway!! I requested extra PB both times paid for extra and only got the bare minimum. This is the first time this has happed, at the other Smothie Kings I’ve gone the bowls are fuller more then half way! Idk if the staff on Saturdays needs to be re trained on this. It’s so upsetting!

DO NOT BUY THE BOWL!! I wish I had seen the reviews before ordering from this Smoothie King!! I paid $15 for this bowl (added a few extra toppings, which I couldn’t even tell) but the coconut base initially looked like shallow scoops of ice cream, which melted to a smoothie consistency and dwindled as shown in the photo. I paid for extra chocolate hazelnut but somehow got half of the drizzle that I get with a regular serving at other locations. The fruit servings were (at least) halved as well. I’ve had better luck with the smoothies, but I won’t be coming back to this location.

$1 more expensive and they are lying about the size of their smoothies. Went to two different Smoothie King in back to back days. They charged me $1 more for the exact same order plus the cup is smaller and thinner. See picture. Not going back.

Please DO NOT go to this location for a smoothie bowl. My bowl was almost 13 dollars 12.98 to be exact. My bowl was at the very bottom. I get smoothies bowls every week from different locations I never had a bowl that was not even half way it’s all way full. I can’t even mention her name because she didn’t give me a receipt. This location is a rip off.

Edit: I have already left feedback on 2/20/2025, to the website provided in the store owners reply. I selected the option of wanting to be contacted at the end of the survey, this "reply" is the only thing I've heard from them since. Extremely disappointed with my recent experience at this location. I attempted to use my birthday reward through the app, which the cashier scanned, along with my payment. However, the reward wasn't applied, and I was charged full price. When I brought it to the cashier's attention, she simply said "sorry" and refused to correct the error. Despite my request to redo the order, she offered no solution stating they don't issue refunds. This was incredibly frustrating, especially as I hadn't had Smoothie King in a while, and it ruined the entire experience. It seems this location doesn't honor app rewards, be careful.

We tried a new smoothie king, thinking that the service would be better. First of all there was a child taking my order, not quite sure the ages of a child to work but I don’t think he was old enough through labor laws. I asked for my smoothie to be made thick she agreed but poured out some flavor, which intern took away the taste of the smoothie. After tasting the smoothie which tasted very bland, I returned and asked if she could remake it . She took the smoothie and dumped it back into the blender. And added flavor and gave it back, cross contamination at its finest. I will never return, I know the economy is going through but honey customer service should be more important than quantity. I hope your teaching your child more about customer service than making money
