I drool over the dumplings and noodles at Golden Dumpling House. This restaurant has been around for a while. It had a new owner recently. They finally allowed sit down dining. I was so glad the prices are still reasonable.

Great home style dumplings and noodles. Counter serve and minimal decor but relatively low price at $8-10 an entree. They now take credit cards..

New place for me and my dumpling appetite. Menu short and focused, dumplings the starts of the menu. Alternative item is noodles and simple cold plates. Faves for today : Pork shrimp veggie dumplings (10) Dumplings were bigger than normal for me lol and were tasty Scallions pancake also bigger than usual , soy sauce needed. Note: Self searing style Condiments like soy sauce and hot sauces of to the side of the cashier Same with utensil and napkins They offer free hot tea🙌

I went there to order frozen dumplings (pork and shrimp, pork and leek) for takeout. Also, I dined in and ate wonton soup with noodles (was okay) and scallion pancakes (very oily). You order from the front and help yourself to the water, utensils, napkins, and sauces. Make sure to get some of their homemade chili oil. The takeout boxes are also there for you to take if you need it.

Edit 10/26: The place is back to normal operations with dine in option. Unfortunately, the quality of dumplings went a bit downhill. The potstickers don’t taste as good as they did… and also too oily. The service took a bit long as well. Sep 2023: All dumplings are freshly hand-made in the back room and you can even watch it. And accordingly, they were delicious! Had pan fried and boiled. Would recommend beef filling and pork+shrimp. One of the best dumplings I had in Houston! New favorite dumplings place. Will definitely come back Btw: they also sell frozen dumplings for home for a very good price!

We tried the pork with veg, chicken with veg and shrimp w pork dumplings. The owner even gave us an extra bowl of soup dumplings because our order was late. Overall I would say it was a pretty good experience.

There's a lot to like about this place. It's cheap, it's fast, and the dumplings are tasty. If I had to criticize the food, the dumplings were a little bit doughy, but you really can't beat the prices. A couple of things to note would be that it is cash only and the beef soup dumplings are not the kind of soup dumplings most people would expect but instead dumplings inside of a broth. While this was a bit disappointing, it was still a pretty good dumpling at a great price.

This is an OG dumpling place in Houston but I honestly think they’ve fallen off a bit in quality in recent years. Their dumplings are still good flavored and the pan-fried ones are nice and crispy, but I think recently they’ve become a bit too oily for my taste. Still, ~$6-7 for 10 huge dumplings is such a great deal and very hard to beat in Chinatown. Ever since COVID they no longer offer seating inside so it’s a take-out only restaurant, which unfortunately can lead to some very long wait times as they usually make all dumplings from scratch. Sometimes they won’t start making them until you’ve ordered them so be prepared for a potential 20-25 minute wait time. Also, the scallion pancake I tried was way too oily, it was practically dripping with oil.

Currently only take out is available. The price is super affordable paid $23 for all this. The dun dun noodles were very bland. The dumplings were okay , they have a lot of dough compared to the filling. The pan fried dumplings tasted better than the steamed. You get a lot of dumplings for the price but in my opinion I would pay a little more for better dumplings. If you are looking for super cheap dumplings this is the place.

Delicious dumplings, but the Dan Dan noodles are rather mediocre. For $25 you can feed 3-4 people which is rather impressive. However you have to get your own water, napkins, sauce, etc. If you are looking for dumplings, come try this place! That's about all they do is dumplings and soup. It's like a 3.5... I'm looking forward to coming back and ordering differently and it might move up to a 4.

First off they used stock photos which aren’t representational to the actual establishment. The dumplings are extremely oily. The balance of filling compared to shell is off. I feel like I was eating doughy dumplings. Dumplings should be light and not covered in oil. Also when did people start adding corn to dumplings?

The dumplings were just bad. Frozen dumplings far out perform this place... Although the dumplings were huge, and the price low - I will definitely not be returning. The dough was thick and chewy, and the meat looked and tasted of poor quality.

Well I was really excited about trying this. My wife and I came in August 25th at 11:08am. The food was terrible. The pork dumplings were slimy and undercooked. The steamed chicken and veg was horrible and in no way did it have flavor. The boilded beef was the only appetizing dish, yet still fell short. The beef noodles were so bad, we only ate the beef, the noodle was gross. The beef from the noodle was unseasoned. My wife asked if the fried pork was cook all the way, they said yes (refer to attached Pic and you decide if it was cooked through) pink means raw to me. But the staff here have a different interpretation. It's not a bad business, the food just sucked. The waitress seemed nice but possibly color blind. She asked another employee who also said it was cooked. In conclusion, nah this was not a good experience. We left alot of the food on the table and left. We feel sick.
