Possibly the best banh mi sandwiches I’ve ever had, including from Anthony Bourdain’s favorite banh mi shop in Vietnam. also the zucchini noodles as a sub for pho is brilliant - taste delicious and noodle like. Highly reco!!!!!
Today was my second time here. Last time was over 2 years ago. Don't recall it being memorable (good or bad). Maybe a little pricey but justified for the area. But today, I got the chicken banh mi. Dee-licious! 😋 I don't think I've had a chicken banh mi before. It was cooked so well, tender, moist, and very flavorful. Clean and modern space & atmosphere. My only recommendation is that the restaurant ask the landlord to add (slower, Level 2) electric vehicle (EV) charging stations right in front of the restaurant. This would allow people like me to conveniently charge while dining in. There are fast chargers in the same lot but I don't need that much fuel or speed of charge. If I used that, I'd have to get up mid-meal to unplug which is inconvenient. With slower chargers I could gain about 20 miles just while I'm eating. Great for business travelers too. There are clearly plenty of customers here already driving EVs. I spotted 4 right out front. Seems like it would be a great investment and valuable to everyone involved (restaurant, landlord, guests). I recommend contacting local Houston company & experts, Pangea Charging if you decide to explore this idea.
We used to come here for Pho and Banh mi . Price is high compared to other viet restaurants but we come here for quality and taste . This is my first time try shaken beef and egg , a bit salty for my taste but still good . I will they give me more vegetables and bread so I can balance out the saltiness. Next time I may come back to my regular banh mi and pho .
This venue is a great option for Vietnamese food without venturing too far from the Loop. It offers quick, no-fuss counter service and a bright, inviting dining room with plenty of seating. You’ll find all the standard favorites like vermicelli bowls, banh mi, and spring rolls, along with some more unique dishes—my personal favorite being the roasted bone marrow. It’s definitely on the pricier side for Vietnamese fare, but considering the location, presentation, and portion sizes, it makes sense. All in all, a solid choice.
Les Ba’get has been one of my favorite hidden gems in Houston. Every time I come here, I’m blown away by how fresh and flavorful the food is. The banh mi and pho are always on point, but honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. What I love most is that it feels like more than just a meal, it’s comfort food with heart. The space has a cozy, modern vibe that makes it easy to settle in and enjoy. I’m proud to support them and always look forward to coming back.
We LOVED this place. It’s very nice and clean inside, with a great vibe. You order and pay first, then sit wherever you want. Our food came out super quickly, and it was delicious!! We got the pho and the lemongrass chicken with rice. Wow. I wasn’t expecting this but it was the best rice I’ve ever had. Kind of random, but it had really good flavor and texture, with seasonings and little crispy bits. Everything else was also delicious. We’ve been to Vietnam and have had some amazing pho, and the pho here was top notch. We will definitely come back here.
“It’s OK, I’ll just take the leftovers home, and it’ll turn into multiple meals,” I whisper to my wife as she frantically tries to stop me from ordering half the menu. “The math works out,” I assure myself while adding an order of bone marrow I know she won’t like, meaning more for me. The cashier glances behind me, expecting a family of six. I redirect her attention by inquiring if I should order two bone marrows, “you know, just in case my wife wants more.” Let’s start with the dishes I didn’t like: Nothing. Moving on. Tastiness ranking: 1: The beef belly banh mi. Tender, flavorful, and packed with enough veggies to make a rabbit jealous. 2: Egg rolls. So good we resorted to rock-paper-scissors for the last one. I won… which meant she got the last one, apparently. 3: Vermicelli. Solid. Not life-changing, but generous portions boosted its score. 4: Bone marrow. Loved it but sadly during the same meal I was told that my understanding that it was cartlidge and therefore had zero fat in it was absolutely incorrect. Sort of killed the vibe. 5: Spicy butter noodles. A tasty filler dish with A+ portion size. I black out. Next thing I know all the food is gone. My wife built a menu wall between us to shelter from the war zone. Fantastic spot with massive portions and sturdy to-go boxes that I’ll be sure to review next time… assuming I don’t have another “incident”
Visiting Houston for a quick weekend and wanted to try the best Vietnamese cuisine … naturally googled. SO GLAD I FOUND THIS PLACE!!! I’m writing this review two weeks later and I am still drooling over my bahn mi 🤤 Ordered the Royal egg roll (crab, shrimp, pork); the Braised Beef Belly baguette; and some sweet tea thing they had. The egg rolls were crunchy, flavorful, and so freaking delicious! You won’t go wrong with ordering that as an app! Moving on to the braised beef belly…it was perfect! I wish I can have one now!! It’s everything you want in a bahn mi but a twist from the original style. They made it juicier with the beef belly…still retained the bahn mi effect with all the veggie stuffings. Just order it and try it yourself. Btw - I ate by myself and sat at one of their stools on the high tops. It’s a cool place with updated Vietnamese decor and photos. Very casual but super updated vibes.
Wow this place is legitimately so delicious!!! They really only have beef pho (so no vegetarian pho options) but the pho broth is delicious and taste just like in Vietnam! I also had the chicken banh mi and it was delicious omg the daikon and carrot was perfect. Even the herbs and vegetables were super fresh and crispy. They even have bone marrow! I used to love that as a kid but as I’ve tried to be more vegetarian based I don’t eat this as much anymore I think the quality of the ingredients is very superior and I can tell they put effort into the freshness and their standards for fine foods. I usually leave these fancy viet modern places hungry but I felt this was very satisfying. The pictures on the wall are very interesting and remind me of what my parents and grandparents went through. The place was full with a lot of Asians- that’s also how you can tell we like the food. Parking lot is terrible :/ hopefully you can find parking . Lots of stores here Came back 10/6 and delicious delicious! Had Vermicelli bowl and banh mi. Please keep up the consistency !! Also the server was so helpful! Thank you !
The Pho broth is really good! I could come here more often if they had smaller size choices for the Pho because it makes no sense to pay $16 for a soup I’ll eat half of. Also, the lean brisket was still pretty fatty. Otherwise a great experience!
Casual spot for a little more upscale TX take on Vietnamese favorites. We come here primarily for some of the unique spring roll and baguette options, specifically their brisket which is unlike other places in a good way, and for the Buddha which is probably my favorite tofu offering around…love their seasoning take. Their noodles are a little thicker than other places which I don’t prefer but I do really like their somewhat jumbo spring rolls which are packed w freshness and the quail eggs are a tasty side option. Some of the artwork is a bit curious for a hospitality oriented space but admittedly most prolly don’t even notice. Plenty of parking and friendly service whenever we’ve dropped in for lunch or dinner. Definitely recommend stopping in here for a menu that has some fun twists compared to many of their competitors.
Best bone marrow treatment we’ve experienced! Lemongrass, garlic, ginger and a hint of sweetness, coupled with pickled carrots and radish, on top of the perfectly crispy baguette. Chef’s kiss! I ordered the filet mignon pho and the broth was the clear winner! Savory, clean broth, no additional sauces needed. Great quick dinner choice for a cold day in Houston.
Les Ba'get in Houston brings a fresh, fun take on traditional Vietnamese cuisine, blending modern fast-casual dining with creative twists on beloved dishes. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is immediately inviting. The restaurant’s interior cleverly merges retro Vietnamese aesthetics with sleek, modern amenities. It’s a playful yet chic atmosphere, setting the stage for an exciting meal. The ordering process is streamlined and efficient: you place your order at the counter, and they give you a number to bring to your table, where servers will deliver your food. It’s a simple yet effective system that keeps the focus on enjoying the food without unnecessary fuss. While there’s no full-service waitstaff, the attentive team ensures your experience is still polished. On our recent lunch visit, my companion and I tried a couple of standout items from the menu. First, we ordered the beef bone marrow appetizer—a generous, flavorful portion that truly hit the spot. The marrow was rich and savory, perfectly complemented by the crispy, warm baguette slices on the side. It's a dish that elevates comfort food into something special and satisfying. Next, we dug into the butter chicken banh mi. The sandwich was expertly crafted, with a soft, yet crisp baguette, tender chunks of butter chicken, and a savory balance of umami flavors. The chicken was rich, but not overwhelming, and the freshness of the herbs and pickled vegetables added the perfect amount of brightness. Both dishes were impeccably presented, which is not something you often see in a fast-casual environment. Aside from the food, Les Ba'get offers a compact but thoughtful bar program. They have a selection of beer, wine, and a few cocktails, including a creative take on the classic pho michelada—a refreshing and flavorful drink that complements the bold flavors of their menu. Les Ba'get excels at offering elevated, modern Vietnamese food in a relaxed yet stylish setting. If you're in the mood for inventive takes on traditional dishes, all served with impeccable flavor and presentation, this spot is a must-try. Whether you're looking for a quick lunch or a casual dinner, Les Ba'get strikes the perfect balance between fast-casual convenience and thoughtful culinary flair.
First time at this new location. Biggest disappointment was their pho (soup) is not offered with round-eye beef slices, only brisket-type meats. I knew this going in however I wanted to give it a fair try. The pho just isn't the same for me with 100% brisket meat. Vietnamese iced coffee was good, not great. Pho (soup) base broth was good, not great. Ordering food was quick and easy. Atmosphere is nicely decorated. Togo boxes, extra utensils, small plates were conveniently centralized as self-serve. Unfortunately, this pho place doesn't dethrone my fav pho spot.
For it being my first time and asking questions, the lady taking my order was rude. That’s an automatic “I’m never coming here again”. Sandwiches were alright.
Don’t waste your money going to this place. I understand you don’t want to drive too far for a banh mi but this is just awful. We at multiple Vietnamese places, been to Vietnam, and this my folks, is not what I expected. The royal egg rolls were good but stay away from the “baguette” banh mi. $40 for two banh mis and now here I am writing this review and still hungry. (-_-) One more thing, they took forever with the food. We walked in to order after picking up coffee at Luce, now that’s a good spot.
