It was a cold day n I appreciate a place with warm steaming pho n Thai tea. Check out Home Tours With Su for my instagram post to share this place with a big bowl of pho!
Literally the best pho in the city of Houston. As soon as you walk in the smells of the kitchen let you know you’re in the right place. Full windows all the way around the building with beautiful lighting. The patio, oh gosh! Perfect view of downtown. Go! Just go!
Wow… if you’re looking for some great Pho in the heights area… look no further.. order their beef rib and you will see why! So much to choose from on the menu too.. will definitely be coming back.
Pho-king good! First time ever trying Pho or Local Pho, and I have to say it was delicious. I’m a big fella, and I left stuffed but not feeling gross or heavy. I had the chicken pho and two egg rolls, definitely recommend the chili sauce in the pho. Food was brought out pretty quick, and the lady behind the counter was very nice. If I lived here I would definitely become a regular… now I have to find a spot in Kentucky to fill this pho void. Thank you all… <3
Great vietnamese restaurant in a trending location. The service was great, they bring the food to the table. The aioli in the banh mi was delicious and they warm/toast the bread as well! The grilled pork was delicious. The egg rolls were also crunchy, either freshly fried or warmed up, but nonetheless it was delicious.
We found this place through the community impact newsletter and man are we glad that we did. It's not very easy to find a Vietnamese place that does vegetarian pho and vegetarian Banh Mi and it's very hard to find a place that does it great. This is it folks! Both the Pho and the Banh Mi were amazing! The crispy tofu was very crispy on the outside and super juicy in the middle. And oh did I mention the great views from the patio? The prices were really affordable and great portion sizes as well.
Finally got to try this place during the soft opening. Had the combo pho and Thai tea. Broth was rich and the meat was tender and not overcooked and fatty - with flavor. Highly recommend. Nice owners and a clean new area and a very modern pho restaurant. Something like you've never had in a pho place in Houston. Oh! And if you enjoy the sides like basil and bean sprouts - it is open serve as much as you want!
Local Pho is famous for their pho and Vietnamese food. We ordered the combination pho and some egg rolls. Overall the food was decent and the pho was massive. They have inside and outside seating. The staff is nice and polite. In conclusion the pho was super good.
We found this spot as we were driving around looking for some food late into the day. We decided to stop in and give it a shot. Well, were pleasantly surprised by the food. I ordered the Vermicelli Noodles with Grilled pork and my wife order the Banh Mi - both which were very delicious. We will definitely go back when in the area.
I've been here several times but only for take away. This was the first time I've sat inside and ate. Consistent quality of good food. Clean areas to eat and plenty of room to social distance. Good food and decent value. I usually get a pork bahn mi, which is probably in my top 5 in the city. Their pho is good, but I usually on get that in the winter. Good thai iced tea.
very nice place, clean, neat, organized and built for speed. ambiance is very young and modern. the Pho is ok: broth is good. nothing crazy but deserves to be called Pho. meats are great but kinda lack taste. i suggest the rib combo or at least the combination to really enjoy a good pho. you get a pretty decent pho, but the price is way too high. because of the location I presume. i still liked the experience, i wish them a lot of success
new pho I just discovered few weeks ago. I tried the beef pho and now I'm trying the beef ribs combo at 15. the regular pho is pretty decent but is not as good as other places in Vietnam area. the size of the meat balls are quite big. I would prefer more meat in general, but overall good place I recommend
Came in today and had vegetarian pho. I also ordered a Thai green tea. This is the first time I did not have to use hoisin sauce with my phone. With that being said, this did not taste like pho. I understand it’s hard to mimic the true taste of pho without any bone marrow or spices, but I felt like I was just eating Vegetable soup. just soup, not pho. Also, super disappointed broccoli was a little sprig and not a few crowns. 😞😩 If they wanted to rebrand this as just vegetable soup, and not pho…it would be better. When I asked about the brisket, bánh mì, I thought they would use like barbecue brisket. But they’re just using brisket they use for their pho. Which is flavourless in my opinion.
I heard there was a new pho place in the Heights area, and I had to try it! I saw it was located at Sawyer Yards, a creative campus full of industrial warehouses near to downtown. I've never actually heard of this area, but I saw there were many art studios, galleries, restaurants, fitness gyms, breweries, and there was even a public art plaza! It looks very new, clean, and there's plenty of parking. Okay, back to the pho. The restaurant is actually pretty nice. It has an industrial design, and offers counter service (order and pay at the counter before they serve you). I looked over their menu, and I ordered the Eye Round Steak Noodle Soup (Pho Tai) for $8. My girlfriend went with the Combination Noodle Soup (Pho Dac Biet) for $10. We also ordered a cold Jasmine Green Tea with Tapioca ($3.75) and a Vietnamese Iced Coffee ($4). There is plenty of seating indoors as well as an outdoor patio. They also had a "vegetable station" with unlimited Thai basil, bean sprouts, jalapeños, and limes where you serve yourself toppings for your noodle soups. We sat inside, and our food and drinks arrived pretty quickly. The first thing we noticed was that the pho broth was super bland. I had to add some pepper and a bit of fish sauce to make it a bit saltier. It was a lot better after this. The meat quality of my Eye Round Steak was pretty good though. The Jasmine Green Tea was refreshing, and although it was completely sugar-free, adding the tapioca added a good amount sweet. I thought their Vietnamese Iced Coffee was definitely too sweet for me though. I wish they served it the authentic way, so you could customize the amount of condensed milk in it. However, it seemed pre-made... Local Pho gains bonus points for the amount of parking, location inside the Inner Loop, and being nice and clean. If you're looking for a more authentic Vietnamese experience with better food in the Heights area, you can go to Pho Binh nearby. However, this place is good what for it is. I can honestly say most Vietnamese people wouldn't eat here though (my girlfriend is Vietnamese).
The total was $31 for 2 Pho tais and 2 Egg rolls. The menu doesn’t have any of the Vietnamese names for the pho so we ordered the Eye round steak pho. The broth was pretty bland and a bit oily. The noodles were also a bit mushy and overcooked The meat however was pretty good and was nice and thinly cut it did not look like mystery meat which is a plus. Sriracha and Hosin sauce definitely saved the broth but you’re gonna have to be hefty to get some flavor. The egg rolls had a nice crunch and were shrimp and pork but I honestly didn’t taste either. The sauce for the egg rolls complimented them well and had a good flavor. The staff was very nice.
DO NOT ORDER ONLINE!!! My mother-in-law ordered at 2:50pm and then go there at 3:40pm, I get there and they didn't even know there was an order under my mother in law's name. They go look at the computer and realize they didn't see the order. They didn't apologize and when I asked how long it would be she said 10 minutes. I wait ten minutes and then ask about my order and they took another 10 or 15 to get it out to me. That being said the food was hot and very tasty. If you plan on ordering, call it in. I may be back but I will order in restaurant or over the phone. Thank you for your food and have a blessed Sunday!
This place is horrible. My wife got the beef pho and they gave her a bowl of cooked fat in her pho. We took it back to the worker and she said she agreed she had never seen beef that looked like that, but she was told that it’s beef. Avoid this place all together. Photos of the “beef” added for you to see.
