Tip: Consider the fajitas for two, and don't miss the red salsa with chips. If going for lunch, be aware the lunch special portions are slightly small.

First time eating here, the food was delicious. Perla was extremely friendly. Definitely would come back.
Food was delicious. Priced well. Regular lunch crowd. Definitely going back.
Queso (yellow) came with flour tortilla chips and had great flavor! Street corn and birria empanadas were delicious. My fiance also really enjoyed their more unique combo - quesadilla, San Antonio enchilada, and fajita chicken (added side of corn tortillas). They make tortillas and empanadas in house and you could tell. Great quality. Definitely will return. Wanting to try to birria tacos, fish tacos, white queso, and steet tacos 🤤
Outstanding food and customer service! When ordering online, make sure you're ordering the correct portion size. They will allow you to order a "lunch" portion even well into the evening because they are really nice, but if you're not paying attending, you might get that lunch portion instead of the dinner portion. If you have a problem, they are very responsive, and they make it difficult to stay upset. A well-run business, for sure!
Our server got all our special requests right for our order which is rare. He was polite and courteous. The atmosphere was as expected. Same atmosphere different location. Family friendly atmosphere. There was a graduation dinner party having a great time when we got there. Decent prices by today's standards. We got out of there paying $30 and some change without tip. We tipped extra because good service deserves extra. Great service all around hostess, server, food runner and busser.
This is as good as my mom's food almost but I love this place anytime I go to Houston I make it a point to eat there
Service was great one if the best quesadillas I’ve had, also drinks where good priced and tasted well
We will be going to this location tomorrow Nov 26 and I had called before we will be coming in from Kyle Tx and My husband was asking me do you think they can make my favorite drink? So i called and Sara answered the phone and i asked her if she can ask the bartender if he or she can make the mix drink and Sara went above and beyond to getting our questions answered of saying Yes it can be done. Thank you so very much Sara with 5 🌟 customer service 😊 of going above and beyond for us . Our favorite restaurant to visit when we come down to Houston. 🫶
This place was good. Salsa is served warm. Employees are very friendly and attentive. I would recommend giving this place a try.
In town for work, not familiar with Houston at all. Mamacita's had some good reviews and it wasn't far from my hotel. I grew up with more traditional types of Mexican food and Mamacita's did not disappoint. Their torts are spot on, in fact I can't say I've had a better one since my Granny passed🙏. I chose the chicken mole dish and it also very good. The mole wasn't as sweet and peanut buttery as I like but it was damn good. You won't be disappointed if you so choose to eat here. The house margarita was also tasty.
Food is amazing been coming here for years. The birria tacos and Birria empanadas are really good.
I had an outstanding experience with the food here – the quality is absolutely top-notch. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and clearly prepared with care and high-quality ingredients. From the first bite to the last, you could taste the difference. The presentation was beautiful, and everything was served at the perfect temperature. Whether you’re a foodie or just someone who appreciates a good meal, this place truly delivers on taste, quality, and satisfaction. Highly recommended!
My wife and I have been here twice now, both times very good experiences! The servers are knowledgeable and enthusiastic about their job, which I appreciate. When we came for lunch we let the server know that we would like to be in and out quick, they made sure we were. Great food as well.
Always a great experience here. David made the best tableside guacamole, and Perla's service was outstanding. Love the food and I have never had a bad experience in the past 8 years of coming here.
Awesome friendly staff, beautifully decorated restaurant, fast service... And.... AMAZING chicken fajitas with all the fixings!
I have been here 3x's and each time is a good ecpierence from server to food n place is clean plenty park I ng.
The food and service here has always been great. Due to the great experience we come here 1-3 times a month. If you are looking for a good time, this is the place to be.
The food is outstanding! Great environment! Seated quickly! Wish the waitress was a little better with refills. But overall I will be telling family and friends about this place.
I love this place! The Spencer Enchilada has just enough of everything to fill your Mexican food craving. 2 cheese enchiladas, 2 slices of fajitas, rice, beans, guacamole, pico... great food, great people, and good prices!
Absolutely fantastic. I enjoyed every aspect of dinner. Super friendly hostess and waitress. Salsas were great and the fresh made corn tortillas were the pinnacle of dinner without a doubt! Finished off the meal with some delicious churros. I'll be stopping here next time I'm in the area for sure.
We’re eaten here so many times I don’t even remember to take pictures This is our go to TexMex place. It’s fast. It’s inexpensive. The service is 100% every time. All of the waitstaff has their craft down flawlessly. Their waits are never really that long. They bus tables fast and clean along the way. I can’t sing their praises enough. It’s my favorite local salsa. When I’m doing Keto, queso and chicharonnes are my go to. Their prices are awesome and food is always satisfying. I’ve never had any alcohol here, but they look outstanding.
It was my first time at mamácitas, honestly the service was good! My server was diligent. Really friendly. We got the queso flameado and it was so good and also birria tacos and beef and chicken fajita. It was absolutely amazing! The birria tacos had beef and they had a habinero sauce to go with it. The sauce wasn't spicy bit definently had flavor. I would definitely recommend. The fajitas were cooked perfectly with a spicy red pepper 🌶
Enjoyed my experience here. The food was great. Prices were fair. The service was excellent. Definitely will come back soon. The Birria tacos were delicious. On a side note, the photo opportunity thing that is inside the restaurant was off putting. We tried it out. The collage picture was free but anything more cost money. The pictures didn't come out that great. And the photos were pretty over priced.
Cannot say enough about how good the mexican breakfast is here. The americana and huevos ranchero. Always steaming. Perfectly flavored. Chips crispy and light. Salsa heated. All was perfect! We drive back from Conroe just to eat it. Enjoy.
A great spot to eat, starting with the chips and salsa to the appetizers and on to the entrées I was truly impressed! The menu was so appealing we had a very hard time deciding what even to order. What we did order was the street corn to start with which was a perfect combination of flavors not over powering one over the other. We followed with the Birria tacos which came with a habenaro sauce (which was amazing) , along with the Nasa dinner which included a Chile con queso tostada, crispy beef taco, tamale, quacamole, and a cheese enchilada (yes a lot of food) and it was very inexpensive! I'm also going to have to say for my tasting this has been the best quacamole I've had since being in this area for sure!! Will be back to try something else on the menu. The atmosphere was very relaxing as well.
Nice restaurant. Servers were good. Tortilla chips appeared to be pre-packaged or from a box. Pre-made. Chili-con-queso was good, but - very thick... Excellent guacamole. The lunch beef quesadillas were prepared nicely, but - the beef fajita meat was lacking flavor. With a few corrections, this will continue to be a popular location.
I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food and service was here. I had the mole enchiladas and it was amazing! One of the best meals I have had at a restaurant in the last couple of years. We drove quite a distance to meet a friend for lunch but I tell you it was definitely worth the drive and I will do that drive again anytime. Service wad great and they never left you with an empty glass. Everyone was so friendly and had a great attitude. If you love great service along with great food, this is the place to be! Food was also very reasonably priced.
The last time I ate at this Mamacitas, I took my Father from his Nursing Home to enjoy one of his last meals there with my Mother. He was 94 yrs. old and was in and out of it during our visit but he seemed to enjoy his meal so much. The Wait Staffed treated us kindly and checked on us frequently! He passed days later but I know he loved the food there! Thanks Mamacitas for always being there! 👍🏼🇺🇸🙏🏼❤️⛄️😂
Mamacita's hosted the rehearsal dinner for my daughter's recent wedding rehearsal, and everyone attending (about 60 guests) all raved about the food and service. The restaurant has a large capacity event room, and they can prepare a custom menu for an event. At our rehearsal dinner, we were served appetizers, a selection of fajitas (grilled steak, chicken and shrimp) with toppings, Spanish rice, beans, guacamole, queso sauce, and tres leches cake for dessert, along with multiple drink options including a bar service. Everyone left full and very happy. I recommend Mamacita's for all of your event meals.
A small faction of my family meets here once a month for a mini monthly reunion/catch-up. We considered mixing it up for variety and then decided ...why!?! We love it here, working our way through the menu we've had all excellent food and service. Fresh, friendly and fabulous!
First time here and is now our new place to enjoy a mexican meal. Best poblano pepper I've had in quite some time. Charro beans and rice were very tasty, even their iced tea is good! My husband had the chimichanga and on recommendation from our server, he put the con queso all over his chimi and loved it! Atmosphere feels like it is family owned and ran! Very enjoyable dinner!!
Returning customer after several years, simply due to location. My wife and I had chicken fajitas. Chicken was tender and seasoned well. Refried bean, rice and tortillas were all quite good. Red salsa that is provided with chips, ranks up there with some of the very best we have had. Service was very good. Wait staff was attentive and friendly. My only con, the prices were quite high. When paying $39 for Chicken fajitas or $16-$18 for margaritas I have very high expectations. Food was very good and will likely return, but at their price point, it will not be frequently.
We had my sister in law’s life celebration dinner in the back patio. It turned out beautiful. The three managers Leo, Martin, Yaya and their kind and amazing staff made our event the highlight of the day. The food was delicious and margaritas refreshing. I highly recommend anyone doing a special event to book this place. . This is our second life celebration here at this Mamasitias. Take a look at the photos how beautiful it all planned out. Greatly appreciate the managers and staff. Thank you for everything.
We ate there for Mother's Day and had a reservation for 9 people. We did this because it is a busy day. We showed up and had to wait a half hour almost for them to have a table? Not acceptable. They were not prepared, so what is the point of having a reservation then? The food was good but will not go back.
Quiet. Walking distance from our hotel. Very clean and super friendly wait staff. Appetizer was great.. A little bit of everything. Cheese dip was not hot.. a bit warm. Tortilla soup came with large serving of rice small salad and pico de gallo. Extra amount of zucchini, cauliflower and carrot.
Response from the owner a week ago We follow the protection measures indicated by the norm, the healthy distance is what is required of us to be able to provide the restaurant service Not sure how they are taking protective measures when other diners are less than 2 feet from each other. Restaurant is NOT covid friendly - everyone is seated next to each other with no space in between. Nice TexMex restaurant. Dining area is nice but everyone is too close to each other. Service was quick and drinks are good. (Not strong enough in my opinion)
I forgot the waiter's names, (Jeff maybe?) but this older gentleman with a British accent and his trainee waited on my fiance and I the other day when we went in for lunch and they were AWESOME! So friendly, so helpful, and just all-around good banter! It wasn't that busy at the restaurant so our waiter/waitress had time to chit chat with us for a little while and it was great. The food was amazing as usual, and you can't beat those fresh handmade tortillas! If I had one inkling of a complaint, it would be that as good as the quesadillas are, I wish they would add more cheese! Usually about an inch to an inch and a half all the way around the quesadilla is nothing but tortilla. Normally I would order the quesadilla to go and add my own cheese to it at home to make it a perfect quesadilla, but the flavor is so good and the meat is of such good quality that I still buy their quesadillas here. All in all, it's great food, great service, and great atmosphere!
I've been here on several occasions and I've enjoyed the experience all 3 times. I've had breakfast on a Sunday, and also lunch and dinner. Good food, Good service, Good atmosphere! Barbacoa was the best I've had in Houston so far, and the Carnitas (see pic) were presented differently than most places but they were GOOD! Definitely Recommend!
The food was good, but the service was mediocre. We were seated, given a menu, and forgotten. We had to continue waving the waiters down for things. I think most of it was because they were short staffed. As far as atmosphere... it is nice and quiet. Perfect place for dining.
All looks good. Food delicious. The hostess could smile some. I wanted a booth, she did move me but did appear happy. Great atmosphere. Yum :-)
The food at that this Mexican restaurant is very good. I've eaten here twice in the first experience was excellent. The second time there was a mix-up with my appetizer where I didn't get it before the entree but management rectified the situation and I took the appetizers to go. The servers are very friendly. The management here is outstanding. I highly recommend this restaurant
Walked in the hostees was super friendly and welcoming we went around 1pm on a Saturday no wait at all. Was sitted immediately sat in a both server was in training did not give us a name and no name tag. Complementary chips and salsa the green salsa was so flavorful and the home made chips where so light and delicious. The server took our order we ordered an appetizer and our entree server I'm assuming got confused we never got our appetizer which ended up being fine because the chips and salsa was so good. I order street tacos with ranchero chicken( my chicken was cooler than expected). Umm flavor was there I had corn tortillas they were good as well not falling apart or anything. My husband got beef fajitas with corn tortillas he eneded up with flavor I do not do red meat, but he was not pleased with the flavor at all. Umm I will say unfortunately we will NOT be back.
We went for a team Lunch out day and it was wonderful time we spent.. got table with no Wait.. welcome chips complementarily .. food was amazing and very nice vegitarian menu options available and it was liked by my team as few of us are pure vegetarian including myself.. Food was served with good presentation and in quick time .. overall taste was mouth watering and true flavour of Mexico.. since I am from India so this food is very close to indian taste .. beans 🫛 rice 🍚 salad 🥗 tortilla roti stir fried vegetables.. Highly recommended to everyone
Good food and nice atmosphere. My wife and friend really enjoyed the Bloody Marys. The establishment had postings that advertised a karaoke night, if that interests you. There were several hand sanitizer stations and I did not see any of the staff with their make down. It was enjoyable, delicious, and I will go back
We came here with 13 people for a small party and this place was AWESOME! They were able to accommodate use within a few minutes and gave us an amazing server. The food and drinks were fire! Such a warm and friendly experience
It was super fast getting in specially on a Saturday night, they gave us the complementary chips with salsa and they were good and crunchy as many people like them ofcourse we order as an appetizer some empanadas chicken which they were delicious with the cream sauce they gave us and then our our plates I got some enchiladas and I don’t remember my husbands plate and a side of fries for my little one since she doesn’t really eat much. The place was nice and the food was good if you live in the cypress area Ty them out
It was my first visit here, and was impressed enough that I’ll come again to try out other menu items. I got the ground beef mini-chimichanga off the lunch specials menu. I’m not sure why they call it ‘mini’ because it took up half the plate! The food is pretty good, but typical Tex-Mex. The chips were fresh, and I liked their salsa. I was impressed by how attentive the waitstaff was. My ice tea never got below half before they refilled it.
Had a work meeting here and was only able to get the one picture. Felt service was a little slow, but not a big deal. We were off in a side room and I felt it was a little warm, actually sweating, but again, not a big deal. I had the street taco carnitas and they were pretty good! Will definitely be back to sample other plates.
Came here for a birthday, service was pretty good given it was a party of 9. Food didn't take long to come out. My partner and I got Enchiladas Suizas and Chicken Nachos. The enchiladas were gone the second it touched the table, the nachos were not that bad but I will say the chicken was a little dry. I'd definitely come back and try different things on their menu but overall a great experience at this mexican restaurant.
Pros: the restaurant was very clean. The salsa was good with the fresh chips. I had a fried avocado which tasted amazing. And my partner had beef fajitas which were good as well. Cons: the rice and beans were not seasoned at all. The price of the menu tends to be a little expensive because we spent $50 for two people and no alcohol.
We arrived late (20 min to close), and when we got there we were warned that they were closing at 11 in a way that made it seem like we couldn't stay past then. That's OKay, I get that people want to go home, but it was different from most restaurants I've arrived are late. We ordered quickly to go. It seemed heavily suggested that we get drinks, which I didn't really want to do since we were taking it to go, but I did. The drinks were pretty good (horchata) and the food too. The drinks were miniscule and very expensive though, like 12 oz for $6 each... That was just part of the bill though, which totaled $50 before tip. That was just for a quesadilla and chicken with those two drinks. The food was pretty good, not exceptional and I don't feel it was worth that steep a process compared to other Mexican restaurants I've been to.
I ordered chicken mole, it was ok, I had better (La Hacienda is delicious), It needed more chocolate flavor, my husband had the enchiladas & my child had the kids burger. I also had the mojito which it was bitter I think they blend the lime with the peel, my husband had a michelada which he really liked. The green salsa was very good.
My brother and his wife frequently visit this location so when my wife and I came to visit he brought us here to eat. It was around 430. I ordered Caldo de Res, if a restaurant serves it I normally order it. The bowl was a nice size but unfortunately the meat portions were more bone than meat. I didn't want to embarrass my brother so I didn't make a scene. I realize it was closer to dinner and you stop serving this soup around noon unless you still have some left over. For the price I feel I should have been served more meat than bone. This I feel falls on the server. Also, for a party of four only one small tray of chips was served with hot sauce. We had to ask the server to bring us more and he came out with another small tray. Best regards Juan Rivas
I was very disappointed, the first time I was there since they change the name. But the service was terrible all 3 waitress that was working by our table looked so unhappy 🙁 and the one that attended our table. The food took forever he didn't even check on us. But yes they add the tips on the bill so they don't care about giving a good service. The managers should make sure they are doing they job
I recently dined here, and while it might not have completely blown me away, it offered a pleasant dining experience overall. I did call to ask wait time and said that they’ll have a table ready but when we got there they gave our table another party. We didn’t have to wait long until they prepared another tables but we did have to wait more.
I got the Mamacita's Combo plate as it was my first time visiting I wanted to try a bit of a few things. It was good but for my taste buds it lacked a bit of flavor. Nothing a bit of salt can't fix I suppose. The service was okay again for what I'm used to it was a bit lacking. Could possibly be due to we were there close to closing & they were ready to wind down. Price range is typical to most places & a good value for your money. Gratuity is already included. Our party of 11 for the most part enjoyed our Friendsgiving dinner. I would visit again just to give it another try.
My first visit to the Cypress location and we were seated in the section of a very inexperienced server. We were not properly greeted, and I had to ask the server his name. We were not given a drink menu and he seemed annoyed when I asked for one. When he finally returned to our table, we were rushed to place our order. Not sure if the manager recognized there was an issue, but she handled the remainder of our visit with so much professional that I will give Mammacita's another opportunity.
I went here with my son for dinner to give this place another try. The food was mediocre. Nothing spectacular, to me that stood out or changed my mind of my first impression. We ordered chicken fajitas for two to which I was surprised didn't come with sour cream and cheese and wasn't under the impression I would be charged $2.25 for a spoonful of sour cream and cheese. Not at all confident I will be giving this place another try for a third time. I have enjoyed better for a better price.
The food was delicious, but wasn’t a good experience. They gave me the smallest portion of refried beans ever. The raspberry Mojito our waiter suggested was disgusting. Also our waiter took forever to take our order and almost never checked on us. Luckily the manager was always near by and was able to grab her for us every time we needed something.
My family and I have pasted by several times and thought we should try it. Tonight (11/28) we decided to give it a try rather our normal "bigger" chain Mexican restaurant. My kid loves the fresh flour tortillas and when we asked for some, the waiter said an order comes in a set of "3." I thought this was an odd comment but didn't think anything of it. We were going to get fajitas for our dinner so getting charge didn't cross my mind. We get our bill, and noticed we were charged $2 per order for some small tortillas. I think we got "1" order free with our fajita meal. We were trying to get back on the road to head home so I wasn't going to waste time speaking to a manager about it, even though our first order only had "2" but again just decided to not deal with the hassle of it. Food was OK, nothing special, better fajitas at a number of different restaurants, even a couple that aren't Mexican restaurant. Staff was friendly and helpful so that was a plus but hope the day never comes when they charge for chips and salsa.
I got there the host was nice but everyone else was terrible in fact we never got a chance to order anything because we never seen a waiter. I felt a lot of racism in the restaurant people of other races came in got drinks and they were ordering there food after 4 minutes so we got up and went to chuy's and got great service
Waitress seated us and brought us chips and dip and never returned to our table. Other people came in after us were seated, brought drinks, and waited upon them as we sat for a while being passed up. So we got up and left bad customer service
Went to this restaurant with high expectations, we were seated fast, our waiter was good with drinks and chips and salsa, but not much for checking in on us, the biggest thing missing from there was Flavor! the food was so bland that the only thing that was good was the chips, The enchiladas had zero flavor, the fajita beef was tough, absolutely nothing good to say about the meal. Money down the drain, with all of the good restaurants so close by please choose one of the others.
Absolutely disgusting the food had no flavor at all! They took almost 30 mins to get it out then we went at least 15 mins with no refills on drinks. Not to speak on leaving the place with hungry kids still. The women’s restroom only had one stall and that one stall didn’t have a lock. Please save ur money and DO NOT waste it here!
Food is so-so. Dry. Not flavored, not saucy when it must be. Enchiladas were dry with dry shrimp inside. Beer is overpriced around $7. Embarrassed myself inviting my friends to eat there
Towing the patrons of nearby and adjacent restaurants makes this a pretty petty establishment. We were your patrons too but not with that management style. Well within your right? Sure. Patron friendly and considerate? No. We would rather support local businesses that don’t do things like this to their shared patrons causing financial hardship and inconvenience.
