I visited on a Monday night around 11 PM and was seated immediately—no wait, no hassle. The server was fantastic: attentive, friendly, and made sure we were taken care of throughout the meal. Although the drink specials had ended, the all-day happy hour food deals were still going strong and absolutely worth it. The sushi was fresh and flavorful, and the wagyu sliders? Top tier. Rich, juicy, and perfectly cooked. This spot nails late-night dining with quality food and great service. I’ll definitely be back.
This location is on Westheimer. The elevator was out of service. There wasn’t a wait time to get a table. It was very very loud in there as far as the music. You sort of have to yell in order to have a conversation. The ambiance is nice and cozy. Great for a date night with friends or your significant other. The drinks were superb! Food was cold but good. The restroom was very dirty when I went. They may want to have someone check the restrooms every hour and clean them. Overall it was nice.
Christie was amazing! She was attentive and she chose the passionfruit margarita for me which was also amazing! Great experience!
Amazing atmosphere, the ramen was amazing and the sushi too 😊 The service was also great my server Anna was polite and easygoing!! Would return for more 😋
Our server Sadia was the absolute best! She had a very strong understanding of the menu and helped us choose food we loved. Honestly our first impression at the restaurant was not that great. Upon arrival we were never greeted and actually ignored by two employees who were, in their defense, busy. But Sadia saved date night! Great service will do that. The kitchen staff was on point as well because every item was delicious and cooked perfectly. We were out of town in Houston for the weekend but we will be back. Highly recommend
Fantastic service here. Caroline really helped us make selections that turned out amazing. I’m not an avid sushi eater so she really explained and broke down the menu that really helped. The atmosphere is a vibe too. A great place for meeting with friends or a date night. We came during happy hour the prices very affordable for drinks and food. We were able to order a lot plus dessert and get full.
One of my favorite restaurants! I go every year for my birthday (they give rewards on your birthday 😉) and many times in between during the year and I've never had a bad experience. The food is amazing and they are definitely way more than sushi. Great customer service Amazon food. Wonderful atmosphere. Give them a try I promise you won't be disappointed!
We had an incredible time! Our server Caroline was extremely nice and beautiful! She was attentive and friendly. The sushi was great and I dropped my keys on the floor at the high top and a very nice server picked them up for me. Overall 10/10 experience
RA Sushi in Houston (with popular outposts in Highland Village and CityCentre) is the ultimate destination for those who prefer their sushi served with a side of high-energy "club" vibes and neon aesthetics. Far from a traditional quiet omakase experience, this spot thrives on a pulsing soundtrack and a bold, fusion-heavy menu featuring fan favorites like the indulgent, tempura-fried Viva Las Vegas Roll and the zesty "RA"ckin' Shrimp. While the music can get loud enough to require a raised voice for conversation, the "all-day" happy hour deals and creative cocktails—like the Blushing Geisha or their signature Sake Bombs—make it one of the city's most reliable spots for a lively group celebration or a spirited late-night bite.
This restaurant is beyond amazing their food is delicious, drinks are so tasty and the presentation is a 10/10. Customer service (Miriah) was super fast, nice and so gentle this makes the difference in our time here. Music was amazing. Overall the best place in town for sushi, nice Saturday night ♡
This was my first time here, and let me just say… I was impressed. Our server Don and his trainee were absolutely on point—attentive, kind, and genuinely made the whole experience better from the start. Now let’s talk about the drinks: not only were they gorgeous, but they tasted just as good. I tried an Asian-inspired Old Fashioned for the first time, and the bartender nailed it—smooth, balanced, and full of flavor. We kicked things off with the popcorn shrimp appetizer (a crowd favorite, according to my friend), and it definitely lived up to the hype. Then came the rolls… wow. They deserve a drum roll all on their own—fresh, savory, and plated like art. Bonus points for management, too. You could tell they cared—they were visible, engaged, and made sure every table had top-tier service. Will I be back? Absolutely. Already planning round two.
Had a great experience at RA Sushi Bar! The food was fresh and delicious, and the atmosphere was lively and welcoming. Our server, Matt, was fantastic — very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. He really added to the overall experience. Will definitely be coming back!
came here for the sushi happy hour. it was nice! be aware it takes time to get ur meal, especially during busy nights!!!! dumplings were cold, sushi was good. the hot sake is highly recommended! a good amount is given. prices during happy hour is really good so i would take advantage of it! only downside was the cold dumplings, and we couldn’t get ahold of our server for a long while. don’t know if it’s because they were so busy that night, but this is the first time it’s happened so would still definitely come and still recommend!
The service was the best, thanks Chris! 10/10 (very good recommendations and with the best attitude), with respect to the food I ordered a steak milon and chicken, the amount of rice in my opinion was exaggerated and a little past its age, meaning not that fresh, I also ordered teriyaki wings and the flavor was 10/10, some mini hamburgers 8/10 the bread was very thick and dry, I would have liked to have tried more but I am allergic to seafood what I mean is that I did not find much variety of regular dishes, with respect to the atmosphere it was quite pleasant, simply a customer near my table who had had too many drinks but well that is something that is not in the hands of the establishment to control, generally they have valet parking but today I did not find it so the parking lot was full so minus point, another detail to note is the bathrooms could have better potential and the mirrors could have been more polished (personally I am one of the people who loves mirror photos)
I tried three of their bento boxes: (1) Terriyaki Beef (2) Salmon and (3) Chicken Katsu + Tempura. Miso soup was pretty good - not too salty. The rice was middling, the beef cut was almost half-fat, and the chicken katsu was overcooked. The salmon, vegetable tempura, gyoza, and spring roll were solid. I came at 3 PM when it wasn’t busy but service was very much on the slower side. We were seated at a booth, which had a rancid smell.
The temperature inside was uncomfortably cold. The service wasn't good this round. Took a long time to get our drinks, which were watered down by then. We asked and waited for chopsticks/utensils but ended up having to go find some ourselves. Didn't care for the Ramen Soup, but the Sashimi Assortment was good! Tried the Seared Tuna but the sauce it was placed over ruined the flavor of the tuna. Hopefully, this was just an "off" night. Service was better previously.
Recently had dinner here while traveling in Houston for work. I’ll start off by saying the atmosphere of this place is great. I really did enjoy the location and the inside of the restaurant. onto the food. I will say that the sushi which is all that I ate was average it’s not something that I would go ranting or raving about. It did not taste as fresh as some of the higher rated places that I have been to so for that I gave it two stars. service was sort of the same story. It was average. I waited around 10 to 15 minutes before someone came over to take a drink order which is OK if the restaurant was slam packed, however, it was not. The waitress was very friendly and she was nice so I’m not complaining and acting like there was bad service because there wasn’t but there was a couple things that I think could have been better. overall in the grand scheme of things I think a 3 to 4 star represents this place well if I could give a 3 1/2 I would however I’m keeping it at three because it seemed like the place should’ve had a little bit better sushi than what it did have and that’s what’s keeping it from going to four stars. For the level of sushi that is at this restaurant I don’t see how they are able to charge $20 and up for some specialty rolls. I’ve been to hundreds of sushi restaurants across the United States many of them better that don’t charge near as much and I feel like if you command that price it should be higher quality than what it is.
The food, drinks and service from our server was great. His name starts with a 'J' and I hope he reads this review (sorry I forgot your name). He has such a great personality and did an excellent job taking care of us last Saturday afternoon. Was a little disappointed at having to see this dirty table the entire time we were there, I blame that on the Manager on duty as I saw them walk by it many times and the ness was never cleaned up. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly and made us feel welcomed.
Carlos was great. The service was great. Y’all need a new POS system. Clover sucks. We waited for our food forever because our waiter got lost in transactions trying to check out his tables and we had to talk to the manager but overall good experience. Y’all just need better. POS systems or Internet. will come back.
With a name like Ra, I expected a standout sushi experience, but unfortunately, it fell short. The menu is surprisingly limited—especially when it comes to rolls. Shockingly, there was only one raw roll available, and it was overpriced for what it offered. This was my second visit. The first was during happy hour, which felt like slightly better value, but overall the food has been consistently mediocre. For a sushi spot, I expected fresher options and a more dynamic menu. On a positive note, the ambiance is really well done—modern, stylish, and great for any occasion. It’s a shame the food doesn’t live up to the setting. Service was just okay—not terrible, but not as attentive as it should have been, especially since it wasn’t busy during dinner. In summary: beautiful space, but underwhelming food and value. Not sure I’ll be back.
Unfortunately, this visit was a letdown due entirely to management and how an issue was handled. We were there to celebrate a birthday, and while we were initially excited, the experience ultimately dampened the mood of what should have been a fun night out. We experienced an excessive delay with drinks from the bar. Half of our drink order arrived after over 20 minutes (two old fashioneds), and the remaining drinks—two margaritas on the rocks—didn’t arrive until nearly 45 minutes after ordering. This was well beyond reasonable wait times, especially during what was not an unusually busy period. Our server, Mariah, was excellent. She was attentive, apologetic, and genuinely tried to resolve the situation. However, when management became involved, the experience took a turn for the worse. The manager, Tara, was rude and condescending when addressing our concerns, showing little interest in hospitality or accountability. Her attitude turned a manageable service issue into an unpleasant experience and took away from what was meant to be a celebration. While the food itself was good, service and hospitality matter just as much. Due to the way this situation was handled by management, we will not be returning. A disappointing experience that could have been easily avoided with better leadership and customer care.
I would rate the overall experience a 1-star for multiple reasons. Starting with a requested liquor drink that was marked at $15 but the suggested drink from the bartender was marked as $35+ with zero transparency. Bartender When you're a bartender there's a level of transparency that needs to be offered once you suggest a drink, price point was never mentioned. A whole $20 difference when you ask for an old-fashioned is honestly insane. I will never come back to this establishment. Once you lose trust there's no reason to spend your money at a place. Mind you this was during a slow period before happy hour. Manager was extremely dismissive and not helpful at all. To feel like you're being scammed when you're expecting a night out with a nice atmosphere is horrible. To add insult to injury they haven't had an inspection for their elevator in years so honesty shouldn't be expected.
Okay so I came here last night for a friend’s birthday and I was anything BUT impressed. The best part of the experience was leaving. First off the server left us hanging around 20-30 minutes no drinks no waters nothing. I also had ordered a virgin mojito which was still $15! when I asked about it they said “Oh you see here $10 was taken off since it was virgin” meaning the regular is $25? Outrageous! The food is not up to par with their prices. If you are going to be charging a substantial amount- the food needs to be exemplary. As well, since we were celebrating a birthday we wanted to be cute and take pictures of her and the dessert, but couldn’t because NOTHING had been cleaned off the table! As someone who works in Fine Dining this is completely unacceptable. Then as the shot people were coming by the person with the whistle came right by my ear and that infuriated me in itself as well. Anyways, needless to say I will not be back nor recommending.
