Excellent, authentic street tacos and tortas at a great price. We ordered food by phone and checkout was quick and easy in-store. Service was kind and fast. Vibe inside feels like a neighborhood Mexican taqueria spot, but with a more modernized, cleaner, and sleeker interior. Highlights were the fajita, trompo, lengua, tripa, and al pastor. Al pastor, lengua, and fajita were some of the best I've had so far in Houston. The salsa verde is flavorful but only mild, so mix it with the less flavorful but spicy red sauce. Street tacos are a good size and they load em up well. Trompo suffers a little in transit for takeout and becomes a little dry so probably best to eat it fresh at the restaurant if possible. Adding salsa and lime helped with that though, and the flavor is simple but great. Tortas were fantastic, just the right size, and toasted well.

We had a great lunch here. Got the Barbacoa, shrimp tacos, chicken gordita and pastor. Of course we got their horchata. Everything was great including service. The only tiny complaint was that their menu didn't have an English explanation for their items which left us a bit confused as tourists.

Hands down delicious! Easily the best tacos I’ve had in the city! The birria tacos are always on point! The consume is mouthwatering and pairs well with anything on the menu. If you don’t know what to order, start there. The guacamole is yummy & I love ordering a side to eat with my food. The sauces are phenomenal. The energy is great! A lot of hard workers who love what they do! Even when they are busy, service is excellent. There is a great system. It’s always a joy to watch them work together to bring us delicous authentic tacos. Thank you for blessing us all with this deliciousness! Peace 💕

The place is so upbeat. Has many chairs for small to big groups. This is only an indoor seating and parking space is shared. The service was nice and fast. They have an open kitchen where you can also see how they make the food, it is like a show. It is nice. The food was good. We savor every bite - the consome was good just feels like it didn’t hit so much the flavor I crave for. But overall it was still good.

Good and quick! I got three birria quesitacos and a lemonada that was perfectly sweet and tart. Also got a single carne asada that hit pretty hard too.

My food was good and tasted authentic. I ordered the birria tacos with consommé and a side of refried beans—everything was flavorful and satisfying. I also tried the $1 margarita, which was decent, though not very strong (but for $1, that’s expected). Just a heads-up: they don’t offer chips and salsa while you wait. The setup is more of a “pay at the counter, then find a seat” style. There was a line when I arrived, but it moved quickly and efficiently.

Good place for some Mexican style tacos etc... Lines are long but they move along at a decent pace and once ordered the food comes out pretty quick. The food was good, not quite as good as the tacos I've had in Mexico but close. While in line you can see them making all the food in the open kitchen, gives you a piece of mind.

This was my first time here , I ordered To-Go today on Sunday Nov 9 . I came inside & checked out the place since I saw some videos from instagram & was craving some tacos . Overall, the atmosphere was good except for all the smoke that was coming off from the kitchen onto the tables where customers were eating . Service was nice & fast but as for the food it was not visually appealing , my tacos had a soggy tortilla even though i only live 5 min from the Gessner location . My wife ordered 2 gorditas which looked much better but since this review is mainly from what I had I guess i'd say i reccommend everyone to order a gordita/gorditas next time instead of tacos , I bought 8 & was disappointed .

Everything we ate was good the only issue we had was the aguachiles. They were completely raw, I brought it up to a worker and he said that that’s how it’s supposed to be. Mind you I have had aguachiles multiple times in different places and never had literal RAW shrimp. Did not eat the plate the manager was supposed to come and talk to us waited a while and never showed up. Left the plate full and not eaten. Seemed like there was no care at all….

The food was very mediocre the meat had no flavor the Tortilla used for tacos are low quality the flower tortillas are slightly better. The California burrito was terrible don’t waste your time getting it. Again I am comparing to Baja style tacos you would find in Tijuana or Ca. They’ll IGNORE you if you’re black. They truly Carter to Mexicans first. All i asked for was a LID to my drink and they kept brushing me off. Yet every time a Mexican customer wanted something they went and got it quickly. That’s racism. I’m over being treated poorly and ignored because I’m black. They only like black dollars, they don’t like or respect black people. I feel so angry to be dismissed like this as if I’m not a human. While watching those same two workers happily and quickly serve everybody else who didn’t look like me. Black. It’s black history money on top of the insult smh

The food is decent, but the customer service from the women working here is horrible. Every time I ask for more sauce, they act like I’m asking for something outrageous. If I order 4 quesadillas for 4 people, why are we forced to share 2 green and 2 red sauces? Each person should have their own, not be told we’ll be charged extra for something basic. The attitude is always nasty, and the hygiene is poor. I come here 1–2 times a week, and it’s consistently bad service when the women are working. When the men are on shift, the experience is completely different—friendly, helpful, and welcoming.
