Opinions de Thai Chili Houston
I am surprised that this place is not crazy busy!! The food is super delicious & authentic Thai food. Trust me!! I’m Thai! Can’t be more happy to finally discover this place! The server is a very beautiful lady, polite and nice. The atmosphere is chef kissses. The price is affordable for these amazing dishes. Definitely recommend and will definitely come back. 🫶🫶
Bold, favorable Thai cuisine!!! If you love Thai food, then you need to check this place out! Close to Midtown area and it’s super quaint…blink and you may pass it! The food is amazing and has lots of flavors. The soup was clean and full of richness. If you love seafood, then you need to try the crispy shrimp. Looking for spice, then they got you covered!! Come check them out solo, date night or with friends!! Chow Chow Time!!
UPDATE: I tried the Jun Pad Poo and the crab meat was marvelous. I really enjoyed this dish, all was perfectly balanced with a sweet and salty touch. The crab added a subtle richness that blended beautifully with the light sweetness of the sauce. For dessert, I had the sticky rice with black beans, which was an absolute treat. The combination of the creamy coconut flavor, the sweetness of the rice, and the earthiness of the black beans created a perfect balance of textures and tastes. — I tried the Beef Pad Kee Mao. It was absolutely delicious! The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the beef was tender and well-seasoned. The portion size was generous, and the staff was friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed, perfect for enjoying authentic thai food. Overall, it's a great spot for anyone who enjoys well-prepared thai cuisine in Houston!
We had quite a bit of different dishes but the best was probably the kao moo daeng and the moo krob(crispy pork) also their Thai tea was very good. Like very very good, anyone who comes here should definitely try the Thai tea. Highly recommend.
If you're looking for an exceptional, truly authentic Thai dining experience, look no further than Chalong Thai Eatery. This place isn't just a restaurant; it's a culinary journey, and it stands head and shoulders above any other Thai food I've had outside of Thailand itself. Seriously—this is, without a doubt, the most authentic Thai food I’ve ever tasted. From the very first bite, I was completely blown away. Everything we ordered—from the fragrant curries to the perfectly balanced noodles—was bursting with complex, fresh flavors. The dishes are expertly crafted, hitting all the right notes: the heat is vibrant, the herbs are pungent, and the sweetness and sourness are in perfect, harmonious balance. You can tell that every ingredient is chosen for quality and prepared with care. The kitchen here isn't shy about flavor, and that's a beautiful thing. But what truly elevates Chalong Thai Eatery beyond the phenomenal food is the incredibly warm and welcoming atmosphere created by the owners. They are some of the kindest, most gracious people you will ever meet. They take obvious pride in their restaurant and their heritage, and their passion for sharing authentic Thai cuisine shines through in every interaction. They make you feel less like a customer and more like a cherished guest in their home. In short, Chalong Thai Eatery is a must-visit. If you crave the real deal—food that transports you straight to the bustling markets of Bangkok—you have to come here. The food is incredible, the flavors are unforgettable, and the lovely owners make the entire experience an absolute joy. Go. Now. You won't regret it!
Amazing food, can't wait to go back and try more. Unfortunately they ran out of esarn sausage! But crispy pork and thai BBQ chicken was delicious, and Lao style papaya salad was really good too. Early dinner so we were the only table so service was nice and prompt.
We can’t stop coming back here again and again!! This is the perfect date night spot tucked away in the city. Authentic flavors that make you salivate just thinking about it. We got the Shake Chic Chick (spicy crispy chicken), Chalong POKPOK (salted crab papaya salad *my fiance ate two in one night by himself) and for our entrees I got the Thai BBQ Chicken (so succulent and juicy my gosh!) and he did Southern Thai Crab Curry. These dishes packed a punch so prepare yourselves! We even went three times in one week if you can believe it. Paired off with white wine or a crisp beer (I put a lime in mine). You won’t regret stumbling upon this gem!
Chalong Thai Eatery is truly the best Thai restaurant I’ve ever been to. If you love real, flavorful Asian food, this place is a must-try. The taste of every dish is incredibly authentic, just like homemade Thai food. It’s clear that the chefs know what they’re doing and care about the ingredients and traditional flavors. The food not only tastes amazing, but it also looks beautiful when it arrives at the table. Each plate is colorful, fresh, and full of delicious aromas that make your mouth water even before you take a bite. I especially love how balanced the flavors are — spicy, sweet, sour, and salty all come together perfectly. The atmosphere of the restaurant is warm and welcoming. It’s clean, cozy, and nicely decorated with a modern Thai touch. The staff is friendly, polite, and always happy to recommend dishes if you’re not sure what to order. Some of my favorite dishes were: • Grilled Chicken – so juicy and flavorful, with a perfect smoky char that made it unforgettable. • Yentafo Soup – rich and savory with a unique sweet and sour broth that was both comforting and exciting. • Stir-Fried Noodles with Pork and Peppers – full of tender pork, just the right amount of heat, and fresh veggies that added a nice crunch. Everything felt like it was made with love and care. I’ve eaten at many Thai places, but this one truly stands out for its quality, authenticity, and presentation. I highly recommend Chalong Thai Eatery to anyone who enjoys real Thai food or wants to try it for the first time. You will not be disappointed!
This was our first time trying this restaurant. The food was amazing and truly authentic flavor. Every bite was packed with fresh herbs, perfect spice balance, and that homemade taste you only get from Thailand. As a Thai person, highly recommended!
This was certainly worth the wait. If you are seeking some delectable Thai cuisine in Houston, this establishment should be on your list of places to visit. Having opened just a couple of months ago, it is a true hidden gem. The service was excellent; Pye attended to our needs and was both informative and helpful. She even provided us with a small dessert that perfectly concluded our meal. I would highly recommend sampling their BBQ chicken, and if you enjoy pork, their crispy pork salad is also worth trying. Both dishes were exceptionally flavorful, and the sauces truly enhanced the experience.
I’m originally from Thailand, so when it comes to Thai food in the U.S., I’m super picky. I’m always chasing that authentic flavor that reminds me of home—and I finally found it at Chalong Thai Eatery in Houston. Let me tell you, every single dish my friends and I ordered was amazing. Not one miss. Everything was packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. I was seriously blown away. It felt like a little taste of Thailand right here in Texas. If you’ve been looking for real, authentic Thai food, this is it. I’m beyond happy and genuinely satisfied. Chalong Thai has officially become my go-to spot. Trust me, you won’t regret it.
I am Thai and of course, I love Thai food. I’ve been dining at Chalong Thai Eatery since the second day of its soft opening, and I’ve already noticed significant improvements with each visit. The owner and staff are incredibly attentive and eager to help, which makes for a welcoming experience. The flavors of the food are truly authentic, transporting me straight to Thailand with every bite. The crispy pork is definitely a standout, and the spicy & garlic crispy pork is hands down the best I’ve had – a solid 10/10. The Po Takk, a seafood basil soup, is absolutely amazing, bursting with fresh flavors and perfect balance. I’m excited to keep coming back and see how this gem continues to evolve! I hope you continue to serve our authentic cuisine and share it with everyone.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Chalong Thai Eatery is a GEM! From the moment I walked in, I felt completely welcomed. The staff was incredibly kind, courteous, respectful, and generous — you can tell they genuinely care about the experience they create for every guest. The vibe in the restaurant is beautiful — it has such a peaceful, balanced energy. The feng shui is perfect, making it feel like more than just a place to eat — it’s a space to truly enjoy. Amazing food, amazing service, and a warm, calming atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a spot that feeds both your body and your spirit. 💛
First time trying Thai food and it’s genuinely delicious. I tried the garlic udon dish and it was splendid. Definitely coming back here with other people!
I give this place a 20/10!! From the food, to the atmosphere, to the service, everything was great! The restaurant was very clean! I tried a few dishes because everything sounded good and it was. The crispy garlic prawns may be one of the best dishes on the menu. This is now my favorite neighborhood Thai restaurant and I highly recommend!

This is LITERALLY THE BEST THAI FOOD IN HOUSTON!!!!!!!HANDS DOWN!!!!! If the Spicy&Garlic crispy pork is available GET IT!!!! Absolutely incredible dish. We also got the ribs!!!! Oh my gaaaaawd!!!! They must have some charcoals back there because it was sooooo complex in the flavors.!!! For starters we got the Beef Salad as well... it hits sooooo good because the acidity of the dish helps with all the richness of our other two dishes. Now they've only been open for 2 months and the place is small but very well designed and built... I highly suggest gling NOW because once the word gets out I can Absolutely guarantee it's going to be booked solid. For dessert we got Mango sticky rice, and these are absolutely high quality mangos right here. The presentation was beautiful as well. Look if yall going on a first date I would absolutely recommend this place. Or even a night out with the wife, I promise yall will not regret it. We left very very happy and satisfied customers. Service was absolutely awesome too, we got a gift from the kitchen tonight. Lol. I will be bringing family and friends next week. My goal isbto try out everything on this menu. Oh and did I tell you about the thai tea? My fiance got the thai tea, and I got myself the lemon fresh iced tea. It reminds me of an ice cold glass.I tried while I was on vacation in thailand, YES THIS IS THE REAL DEAL FOLKS!!!!! HOPE TO HEAR ALL YOUR REVIEWS SOON!!!!

Chalong continues to impress with dishes that are both comforting and exciting. The Crispy Garlic Shrimp is a must-try for anyone visiting, and the Udon Noodles are a great choice for those wanting something hearty and flavorful. Great service, great flavors—I’ll definitely be back.
Had some very great food today at Chalong Thai Eatery, I had the Kao moo daeng while my wife had the moo krob or crispy pork. Out of all the places we’ve tried the crispy pork this place has the best! The sauce of the kao moo daeng and for the crispy pork was very good. The service was amazing also Moss was very helpful about all types of food and very good at making us feel refreshing, her customer service was amazing. Highly recommended for anyone who loves Thai food. Great place, great service and great atmosphere!
Went here last Friday evening with a group of friends. Service was fantastic. Atmosphere was good. The food was star of the show. Very authentic, Thai beef salad was the standout. Don’t miss the crispy pork too. This place will quickly become your regular spot
I have been coming here a few times now. I try to avoid coming to downtown due to congestion. This small charming place has one of the best tasting Thai food in town. The place is clean and comfortable. Parking is plenty. I frequently ordered their fish. Multi-stage preparation may take a little longer but it is worth the wait. The water must be RO water because it tastes great!! No tap water! The pork dishes are mouth-watering. The price reflects their premium ingredients and chef's skills. For Thai food lover, this place is must. The staff are attentive and helpful. I will always be back.
Came here for HRW lunch before HRW ends. Started with crispy spring rolls, then a small portion of Pad Thai, and ended with a plate of sticky rice with black beans. I loved all my food. They were cooked well and flavorful. The dessert was a little too sweet for me, but it still tasted good. The restaurant is fairly new, and the staff is friendly. The restaurant is good for small groups, as it is small. Parking is easy in a big parking lot.
I just found this cute little restaurant in the heart of downtown 😍 Everything I ordered was great, but they’re all too salty for me. But I love the flavors tho: spicy enough and flavorful. The spotlight is an off-menu item: Sassy Shrimp - a must. The other two was great, but not as impressive as the Sassy Shrimp. The Sizzling Thai Sukiyaki (under Chalong Signatures) is my friend’s favorite, she likes the juiciness but on the other hand, I would prefer drier 😅 The Mango Sticky Rice is the best one ever! The sticky dried was not too dry or overcooked, the tangy mango paired well with the sweet coconut milk. Additionally, the price is really affordable, $72 something for all 4 😍 Tips excluded. I will be back to try more dishes, please adjust the saltiness level!
Chalong Thai Restaurant was a decent spot for a casual meal. They open at noon on Sundays. We arrived at 11:50 AM and waited until 12:02 PM before anyone even showed up to open the doors. The service was friendly but a bit slow. The standout dish for me was definitely the Spicy and Crispy Garlic Pork—perfectly cooked, super flavorful, and had just the right amount of heat and crunch. The Pad Kee Mao was tasty and had a good mix of veggies and spice, though it could’ve used a bit more depth in flavor. The Pad Prik King was solid. The medium spice level was pretty spicy and I can eat really spicy. Overall, it’s a good place if you’re craving casual and quick Thai food.
