Opinions de Chuy's Hutto
My family and I finally had the chance to visit this location, loved it and will definitely be back. We loved the salsa. It tasted extremely fresh. We wished they had a spicier option but that's just our personal opinions. The jalapeno ranch was ok but could definitely use more jalapeno. Again personal preference though. I got their chika chika boom boom enchiladas and while they weren't bad they were definitely a let down as they were supposedly one of their spiciest ones but I got absolutely no spice from it. Other than that they were really good though. We also got flautas and while fried to perfection the chicken inside was under seasoned to us. Our waitress was fantastic and stayed on top of it mostly. The only issue we had was asking for a refill of chips twice and never getting it but she stayed on top of the food and drinks so it wasn't a huge issue. Overall it was the best experience we have had at a Hutto restaurant and do look forward to exploring more of the menu in the future.
Came to Chuy’s with some friends for the first time and had an amazing time at this location! The atmosphere was awesome! Food was delicious and hot! Our server, Madeline S was amazing! She was extremely attentive, sweet and hospitable! If y'all decide to eat at Chuy’s definitely ask for her! She truly added to my first experience at Chuy’s!
Chuy’s recently opened in Hutto, and it’s hands down the best Mexican food I’ve had in the United States. The atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming, with colorful decor that adds to the fun dining experience. I tried their Chika-Chika Boom Boom chicken dish, and it was packed with flavor—rich, creamy, and absolutely satisfying. But the real standout for me is their creamy jalapeño sauce—it’s beyond addictive and elevates every bite. From the delicious food to the lively vibe, Chuy’s in Hutto is a must-visit!
Our server Madeline was truly outstanding! Warm, friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. She made our dining experience superb! Margaritas were fresh, food was hot. Loved our evening out. We will be back!
I've been going to one Chuy's or another for close to 40 years. The Hutto Chuy's is new but the food, service and atmosphere is classic Chuy's. We had chicken fajitas. It was good. The only sour note was that the only choice of beans was refried. Something about which day of the week, Friday? Strange.
Jeremy S. is amazing ! We ask for him every time we come in ! Very attentive, very respectful and over all the best waiter. Amazing service! You can see by how he treats and waits other tables, how much he truly loves what he does.
What a great To Go experience! From the moment I walked in, Gabi and Kayla both greeted me kindly. They directed me to the waitress Taijarae who did a great job taking my order and was so kind to help me with my order to my car!! The food was excellent, I ordered Tortilla Soup and the Chicken was incredibly tender! Thank you from the from the front of house to back of house for a great experience!!!
Top notch. It was super busy, sat at the bar and received great service from a busy bartender. In town for a week, will probably go back. Steak burrito tasted great and was visually appealing.
Overall, the experience and food were great. We arrived at 6:00pm and were able to be seated right away. Suggest to get there earlier because between the hour of 3-6pm is happy hour with good prices on some drinks and munchies. Caution, the salsa given at the beginning with the chips was a bit spicy for some but the jalapeño ranch dip was great. Meal was delicious and filling. Good selection of hot sauces Great Tex-Mex meals.
Friendly service! The queso compuesto was delicious. The tres leches cake was a good size portion and delectable. Sat on the patio in the evening and it was very comfortable! I recommending getting on the wait-list online if you're going for dinner.
Update: This is one of my favorites on our rotation. I love the chicken flautas plate. My husband loves the burrito when he's really hungry. We always leave satisfied and the food isn't that expensive. My toddler loves looking at all the fish decorations on the ceiling! I love the interior design of this Chuy's! Its maximalist, quirky Tex Mex decor is so fun to look at. The food and service was good! We had a free queso since we checked it out before it was open and the staff member handed us that coupon. I don't think we think it is worth getting unless 2 or more people are enjoying it. I can't really eat chips due to a jaw issue so just one of us couldn't finish a whole queso. We enjoyed the leftovers at home, too.
This is a good location to enjoy delicious food with family. There are many appealing options to select including vegetarian choices. The customer service was great and the staff is very welcoming and friendly. I would recommend this location.

We always have a great experience at Chuy’s in Hutto, TX! The customer service is consistently excellent, and the wait staff is friendly, welcoming, and attentive. On our recent visit, we ordered the tortilla soup — and it was absolutely delicious! Amanda was our waitress and did a fantastic job taking care of us. She recommended the margarita swirl with mango and strawberries, and it was SO good. Highly recommend trying it! We’ll definitely be back!

Came in for opening day (fake snowmaggedon day). It wasn't too busy and we were seated and served quickly. Happy hour between 3p-6p. The chips and queso were $5 for happy hour as well as discounted margaritas. We split Panchos nachos and were stuffed. We did opt for a Tres Leches to go and it was heavenly!
+ The Steak Burrito remains the king of good deals. + Free chips and salsa. + Staff is friendly and quick. + Lots of seating. (Probably more than actual parking.) - The margarita seems to get weaker and weaker every time I go here. - Parking is hard during peak hours at this location.
Just opened a new location in Hutto. So, of course, it's going to be extremely busy for at least a month. We needed a table for 2 and had about a 20 mins wait. Parking is tough. Had to park 1 vehicle in front of the business next door. Very friendly waitress. It seemed like the hostesses were confused on tables when we walked in. There were at least 3 of them huddled together, talking and looking at the menus and the seating chart while people waited to get on the waiting list. But I can understand how that could happen with new people, probably still in training. The hostess who took our name down was very polite and friendly and had a smile on her face from the time we got there til I swear when we were leaving. 😊 I personally like that. Shows she likes her job in my option. The food was really good. Prices are a bit high, but that's how's it has been for the past 4 years. 😬 Def worth trying out. I would recommend!!
Chuy’s in Hutto is a solid spot for delicious Tex-Mex with a lively and fun atmosphere. The food is fresh and flavorful—especially the creamy jalapeño dip and the fajitas, which are always a hit. Portions are generous, and the margaritas are strong and tasty. Service is generally good, though it can be a bit slow during peak hours. The restaurant has a great vibe, but it can get pretty loud, so it’s not always the best spot for a quiet meal. Overall, a great place for casual dining with friends or family. Definitely worth a visit if you’re craving Tex-Mex!
Cinco de Mayo with a party on 10? Not recommended without a reservation. Nevertheless, we arrived at the new Chuy's in Hutto at 5:30 without a reservation. We were told a one hour wait but I thought it was overly optimistic. However, only 45 minutes later they had a table for us! The service was prompt and very professional. Drink orders, appetizers, and entrees were taken and delivered efficiently. The food was delicious. I was very impressed with the overall operational organization and efficiency of the staff. Highly recommended.
A very welcome addition to Hutto. Probably the largest restaurant in the area with both and indoor and outdoor (covered) areas. Great place for families with very colorful themes around Elvis memorabilia with Tex-Mex style. Food was very underwhelming. The party I came with said that their dishes lacked flavor and was very generic. I found the portions to be generous and while certainly not a Gourmet experience, it was no Taco Bell for sure. I tried the Elvis combo (photos) and it was OK, will go for “Tacos Al Carbon” next time though. Service was great, food was served fast and I never had an empty glass, so yeah I would recommend this new restaurant and hope they kitchen will improve a bit so dishes are a bit more flavorful.

I didn't order a meal, just the dessert. Which was the Churros. They were good, and cooked perfectly. Crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. However, the frosting dip that comes with them was served to me cold. I've never had it like that before and our waitress said that's just how they do it. Ok... Other than that everyone else i was with enjoyed their meals very much. Thank you for making our experience good
First time at this location and even though I was seated quickly before the rest of my party of 3 arrived.. that was a plus.. It was happy hour on a Friday.. it got busy quick.. like tons of people waiting inside and outside kinda busy.. We ordered a round of tx Martinis and queso.. arrived quick and Martinis were good.. ordered an appetizer sampler as well.. Then our bill came.. puzzled because we hadn't received the appetizer sampler we ordered.. but ok.. ordered another round of drinks.. all good.. our waitress and another woman kept checking on us.. somehow it seemed like they were trying to rush us since there were a lot of people waiting, they wanted to flip tables quick.. they were too attentive, it was weird.. lol.. idk, could be nothing.. Anyway, ok experience and possibly might come back, however, I live in RR and I frequent that location..
I meet a friend there for a mid afternoon snack and had gone there specifically for their famous jalapeno ranch. The wait staff turned over and information was not passed to the next person so I never received my jalapeno ranch. The server that took my order first had a bit of an attitude and seemed agitated when we asked questions about a menu item as if we were inconveniencing him. My friend ordered a full fajita meal; and I always base my tip off service and not the meal so that they get paid for their time, but they made an assumption that because I was only spending $5 that I would only be giving a small tip.
The food was good. The Tortilla soup with tender chunks of chicken and queso were delicious . The chili relleno stayed crispy since it sat on top of the sauce so that was definitely a plus. The Mexican martini tasted like a virgin limeade so probably won’t order it again. The service was fantastic, best part of the meal.

Born and raised in Austin and a Chuy’s fan through and through. When we moved to Hutto, I was honestly so excited that a location opened up this close to us. We went in Saturday evening and were told 30 minutes, totally fair for the weekend. We were actually seated in about 15, which was awesome. We had a table of five, all on one tab. I ordered one perfect mexican martini and two small quesos to start. Drinks came out for everyone except mine. No big deal. I was in the service industry for 17 years, so I understand how busy bar service can get. About 10 minutes later our server came back to take food orders. My husband got boom boom enchiladas, I got fajitas for one, the kids got flautas(2 orders)and our friend got a chicken quesadilla meal. At that point I politely asked about the queso. She clearly forgot but went to check and brought it out pretty quickly. Again, no drama. We are all human. Things happen. But by then it had been about 25 minutes and I still did not have my drink. When I asked her about it as she was refilling drinks she said a new bartender just started and things were not up to par. As a former GM of two bars and a restaurant manager, you do not throw your staff under the bus. If something was missed, just own it. When the Mexican martini finally arrived, it did not taste right at all. It honestly tasted like straight sweet and sour mix. My husband tasted it and immediately said it was bad. For a 14 dollar drink, that was disappointing. We took maybe two sips and asked to have it removed from the tab. I did not order another one. But by far nothing like the normal mexi marts at all other Chuys I have had so that was a bummer. Most of the food was good. The enchiladas, fajitas, and quesadilla were solid. The flautas seemed different though. They were super dry, less flavorful, and the batter did not taste the same. Maybe the recipe changed, not sure, but we will skip those next time. That said, I love Chuy’s. The salsa, creamy jalapeno, and chips are always on point. Everyone has off nights, especially with new staff, and we will absolutely give it another shot. If service and the bar just is not consistent for us at this location, no hard feelings, we will head over to the Round Rock location. Still left a fat tip bc that’s how I roll, I used to live off tips so I give back even for service that is bare minimum, you never know what someone is going through. Still rooting for this Hutto location to hit its stride. Loved the vibe of the building and grabbed a couple of the cool shirts you guys had.
First visit was in June for Father's Day, shortly after they opened. Less than great service. Manager compensated us with unsolicited "free queso" coupons. Fast forward 6 months, we decide to give Chuy's (Hutto) another shot. The service this time was even worse. We were seated at 7:10p, we did not receive our food until 7:58p. During that time the waitress came by to "verify" our order, essentially taking our order again. Super frustrating. Most of the order was great however my tortilla soup was lukewarm. The restaurant is not very clean. The blinds at our table were covered in dust and other material. We will not be back. Such a shame considering the tortilla soup is the best.

Service was meh at best. Waited a long time at my table before I was asked if any one greeted me. I ordered queso and it was extremely watery. Our waitress really seemed like she didn't want to be at work. I lave been there before. I have eaten at Chuy's many many times. Food could have been better. It was my daughter's birthday and I really thought this would be a great place to eat. I'm a little disappointed.
This was my second time going to the chuys in hutto. I cannot say I'll be back. There were chunks of black pieces that had a horrible smell in my beans. The soup came out Luke warm and my husband's food was a bit salty. Server did not put my order in correctly and at the end I guess he expected a tip because he stood there after giving me my change. I ALWAYS tip, but it was odd that he was standing there waiting for it. I'll continue to go to the round rock location.
New soup bowls are half the size of the bowls before. Chuy's was sold to a corporation that will slowly milk it until it ends up like Taco Cabana. I have seen this before. No more Chuy's for us after this visit. Not worth it with the smaller portions. Food is great though but price/serving is not any longer. The family that owned it before sold it for 600+ millions and you can tell the difference between corporate and family businesses.
While there are a number of positive reviews for this location, we won't be adding to that number. After giving it a few days before the "grand opening," we decided to give them a try for lunch. There was a short wait, but nothing out of the ordinary. Our initial feeling was that this location wasn't all that different from other Chuy's locations in the Austin area. The decor is very similar and the staff was great. But the noise level was a problem. It was so loud that it was hard for us to talk or even hear the staff at times. Sadly, the main issue was the food. The chicken tortilla soup was almost inedible. Besides being far more watery than the same dish at other restaurants in the area, it was overpowered by cilantro and black pepper to the point where that was all you could taste. The same overpowering taste of cilantro affected the other dishes we ordered. Despite the staff being understanding and advising we could request "no cilantro" the next time we visited, that is concerning since we have never encountered this issue at any of their direct competition in the area or at other Chuy's locations we have patronized. Despite the positive experience with the staff, the negatives we encountered made it an overall unsatisfactory experience for us, and we won't patronize this location again.
The food is always great but their to go order team is terrible. They mess something up every single time I order and it is crazy. I order from here almost every other week and without fail it’s wrong. For years I ordered from the round rock location with zero issues. I bring it up to their management and it just seems to me their team is getting zero training. For example tonight I ordered a taco family kit that comes with an 8oz creamy and was given a 4oz. It also normally comes with salsa but didn’t get that either.

Do not pick up to go or online orders. They totally skimp on all the sides compared to other locations and they have since they opened. I’ve never received a rice/bean combo (can barely say there are beans in the photo) or only one small salsa and creamy for a taco plate, soup, rice, and an a la cart taco. Everytime we order we go “Welp! You think we will actually get sides and dip this time?” One of the main reasons we go to Chuy’s is because they are pretty generous with the servings. Dine in only here.
This is the worst Chuy’s I’ve ever been to. I ordered my meal with no beans and when it came, sure enough there was beans on the plate from where they just scraped them off. It took over 30 minutes to get a new plate, so my wife ended up eating g her meal cold. They didn’t have milk for my grandson and were out of ice cream so my grandson’s meal was not complete, and did not offer to substitute anything else. Never got refills on our drinks either. Waitress could not have given a single care that I was obviously annoyed. I should know not to come to Hutto and expect the same seevice you get in Austin or Round Rock. Never again.
We ordered online and chose to pick it up curbside. They gave us a time it'd be ready and we got there one minute prior. We waited 30 minutes over our given time! When they finally got our order out to us, the only drink we ordered was not with it. We also didn't get some sauce that was said to come with certain orders. The curbside person went back to get the sauces and the drink but when he came back we still didn't get the salt or olives that were supposed to come with it as claimed on the website. We were home within 10 minutes and one of the 4 orders were cold while the other three were just warm. The receipt showed it was ready by the given time with a "0.00" hold over time. This leads us to believe it was ready the minute we arrived but wasn't taken to us for 30 minutes and was just sitting somewhere. Also, the avocado was not very fresh and wasn't worth the upcharge for it. (Photo disclosed) We were excited to have a Chuy's so close to us and have been in the area for decades, using the one on IH35 in RR and even in Austin and this was the worst experience. We're never going here again.
I typically don't leave bad reviews, if the service is bad I simply don't go back. But, this goes beyond bad service. I ordered a pickup order for 6:45, arrived on time after receiving my text that my food would be ready and waited for 30 mins to get it. While standing in the doorway of the to-go area I saw what can only be described as utter chaos. Food prep workers handling orders without wearing gloves. One girl ran her hands through her hair and then packed tortillas with her bare hands. When my order was packed it was spilled in the bag and handed to me. By the time I got home the bottom of the bag fell out from the moisture. Definitely not worth $70 and will not be returning.
This is a scroller - I am sharing this only in the hopes that management will learn from this. Yesterday, we called ahead to join the waitlist for a party of 16 at 6pm. We understood reservations weren't an option, so next best bet. We arrived at 5:50, checked in, and I explained we would now only have 14. While the restaraunt wasn't crazy busy (there was a couple and one small group ahead of us), we expected somewhere around a 30 minute wait. At 6:35 I asked the host to change our group to first available if it would be faster. She said she could do that and then explained they had already blocked off our section, but they couldn't seat us until they cleared the table. She then explained that there were other guests still at the table, but their tabs had already been paid for some time now and she expected them to leave any minute. I said, awesome, thank you. I went to the bathroom and saw the table had indeed finished - boxed food, signed tabs, empty glasses, and they were just talking. Around 6:50, and many other tables sat, we checked back in and were told the guests still hadn't left, and we would just need to wait a little longer as they were regulars and did this all the time. At this point a few of us grabbed a drink at the bar, talking about the delicious creamy jalapeno. Another member of our party went to ask again about sitting in another area, and even spoke with management, and were told again that they had our section assigned, and we would just have to wait until the regulars had finished talking. It was roughly 7:10 by this point, with no signs of them leaving, so we decided to go to Rio Grande instead. Half of our group called en route, and the table was already set by the time they arrived. The rest of us finished our drinks at Chuy's and left a little after 7:15. It was then that the table of regulars were finally standing to leave. Now, I can understand and appreciate not wanting to disturb regulars, but if your establishment has any kind of wait time for dine in - you turn that table. Tell your loyal regulars that while you greatly appreciate their business, it is a busier than usual night, and you've had a large party waiting for over an hour. Offer them a free appetizer for their next visit, or a drink at the bar so they can finish visiting. Or, plan ahead - if you know these regulars are prone to occupy a table well after they've finished dining, don't plan on seating anyone in that area until they've left and operate as if you are down one table so other guests are able to support your establishment. What you don't do is turn away 14 very hungry and very thirsty guests while allowing 5 regulars to just sit, when they had finalized their tabs more than 40 minutes prior. Hopefully, this will be a learning experience for management to improve upon.
We had a terrible experience here tonight. Our server was very uninterested in being a server. The food was not up to the standards of a normal chuys restaurant. Also, a male server was leaning on a trash can in between the bathrooms on his phone when I went into the restroom. It was strange and I was very disappointed in this location. I will make sure to go to the Round Rock location from now on.
I've been 3 times now , we've sat at the bar each time, took 10 min or now each time for bartenders to greet us, pain to get menus, when food is brought out another ten minutes to get silverware, never offered chips and dip. It's a different bartender each time, they move EXTREMELY slow considering there's only like 12 seats and always a service bartender handling the restaurants drinks
Average chuys food-wise and from the aesthetics of it all. Service is horrendous though. The curbside pickup is a genuine joke. They don’t even acknowledge you and will gladly make you wait half an hour past the scheduled pick up time. If you try to walk up to their door they’ll treat you like a nuisance for being curious as to why you’ve been waiting 20minutes. I get it, it might be a busy night, but I know I see 5 people standing in a line twiddling their thumbs on the other side of the glass door. At least have the decency to say hi and let me know I’ll have to sit here and wait.
Waited 20 minutes for 3 to go margaritas. I showed up and watched 6 cars get their full meal orders who showed up after me. Their excuse was I had to wait for these orders to go out because they came in first online. So I was literally waiting for other people to show up to the location to pick up their meals before I could get my 3 margaritas… what sense does that make?
I’m very disappointed with the service during my recent visit to Chuy’s. From the start, our waiter was extremely inattentive to our table and seemed far more focused on their other tables. I had to ask for my drinks AND WATER twice that didn’t arrive until after our food was already served, which is unacceptable for any sit-down restaurant.(bar was had two guest so was not busy ) To make matters worse, there was this sticker my taco bowl that was revealed after mixing it all together, which completely ruined the experience. this visit was all around bad and I regret going out my way from round rock to come to this location to give it a shot for it being new.
The fajita Combo in my opinion is too expensive for what you get, some may disagree. My two complaints are, I never received my 4oz queso. I also added two scoops of guacamole. I was given a table spoon if that. It was Funny to actually see that they woukd serve this and actually charge me for.... that is not a scoops. Tried calling a few times and no manager ever picked up the phone. Poor serv8ce by not fulfilling my order completely and REALLY being that selfish with a scoop of guacamole??? Get it together
Disappointing. Order was missing almost $20 in items (Queso and Tres Leches cake). Hard to justify a $99 bill when the best parts of the meal don't even make it into the bag. Check your bags before you leave this location.
Chuy’s has alway been our favorites and I was extremely excited they opened a location closer to us. However, We will never order delivery from this location again. Our food was cold, my child and husband’s order barely had any meat in them, and I was missing all the sides to my meal. The only positive thing was fast delivery. One recommendation moving forward would be to use different To-Go containers. The current thin plastic ones are horrible at insulating the food.

If I could leave zero stars I would , first of all the wait time was extremely long for mediocre at best service and food , there should have been no reason for me to put my food ordered in and wait almost 45 mins for it to even come out (I watched people who sat down after us get food before us ) I had to ask the server to go check on what was taking so long , when she did finally come back with the food there was no apology given , fast forward to checking out I handed her $80 bucks and tell me why the receipt said I gave her $60 that questionable I was so over the whole experience at the point . NEVER AND I MEAN NEVER WILL I EVER RETURN TO THIS RESTAURANT!! DO BETTER !
