Ricardo's Tacos & More

I have tried both, Ricardo’s Restaurant and now the patios’ Ricardo’s Tacos & More. Both are extraordinarily awesome! I have no complaints whatsoever. Taste is right on the target, the service is above expectation, and the best part of all is that the actual owners and/or their families are always present to oversee quality and service. All in all, hands down the best service and scenery in the RGV.

I have been coming to Ricardo’s for 7 years now, and the staff is always so friendly and don’t think they’ve gotten my order wrong once! Even if they did - they would correct it right away. They are the best!!

The tacos were pretty good! Homemade tortillas are on point. Eggs were a little dry, but it was pretty good overall.

I’m a regular there and I love the authentic barbacoa and the pork asado is my next fav. Tried their fajita plate today and it was meh. No sautéed onions or peppers and the only sides are rice and beans. Still love it though!

Update..2.27.2022 husband ordered 6 tacos to go. Asked for hot sauce and was told he can only have 2. Husband said well I have 6 tacos. That's not enough salsa. Then the employee said only 2 hot sauces PER BAG!!! What??? That makes no sense. I told my husband to tell the employee to put each taco in a separate bag then!!🙄😬 the prices have already gone up. Should have included $0.10 per taco into the price increase to cover the hot sauce. Going to lose a lot of business not giving out more salsa for those tacos. Love the tacos here. The employees all seem to be friendly. They offer a few different salsas for your taco. I prefer the medium red one. Have been enjoying their tacos for many years. Wish they stayed open later than 2 so I could try one of their plates for dinner. They make your call in order pretty quick. I have run into a problem when calling in sometimes. I get a message saying the mailbox is full. Then I have to order in and wait for my food. I prefer to call it in and pick it up and go. That's the only complaint I have. Because I love the tacos

The chorizo breakfast tacos are usually amazing, but occasionally they'll be greasy. The green salsa is amazing, but occasionally they forget to put it in the bag. The menudo is delicious. Yes, there can occasionally be service issues, but the USUAL quality of the food is good. Would recommend overall.

Yoooo! The customer service was trash, they clearly thought I was white (I'm hispanic) and assumed I wanted flour tortillas, didnt ask me about cilantro, onion, salsa, nothing. I had to ask and got an attitude back. I say this after watching how they responded to others that walked in to order. BUT, BUT, HEAR ME OUT. Worth it. The tortillas were perfect, exactly like my grandmother made, the meat was delicious, flavorful, the verde salsa was spicy and sooo good. Definitely like...advocate for yourself lol, but the food is worth it. Delicious. Absolutely delicious.

I went in with my kiddos to grab breakfast on their way to school. The food was better than a cookie cutter place, but it wasn't the best that I've had. They forgot the sausage in one of my three sausage, egg, cheese tacos and the kiddos kept talking about how greasy the food was. I thought it was more watery than anything, but what does Mom know!?! Lol

I thought that the staff was very nice and helpful, but the food wasn't worth the price. First of all, they committed a cardinal sin by using disgusting canned refried beans on my tacos. They did even try to make them taste better by adding a little seasoning or flavor. The cheese was sub-par and didn't add any flavor; it only added to the texture. The tortillas tasted okay, but even HEB tortillas taste much better. Honestly, I was expecting more from when I walked through the door. Would I go back? Maybe, but only because the choices for tacos are limited in Hutto. Sorry guys, I gave you a fair and honest review here.

Would I eat here again? No. I ordered the al pastor plate and one chicharron taco. The chicharron taco was on point. The Al Pastor was dry and did not taste fresh. Rice was bland. Beans bland as well. The Tortillas seemed old as well. The salsas they have , no hint of spicy or flavor. It was just watery. We only came here because the original place we wanted was closed. Figured we give it a try. The only good customer service we got from was from the young gentleman working the front counter. Definitely keep him. Save your money don't eat here

Corn tortillas are not made fresh store bought. Tacos average to light on the filling/size. Ok place. My opinion may be skewed as I'm used to San Antonio breakfast tacos who make the best.

First time going to this place and had a BIG disappointment. The food was great , no problem there, But the staff needs re-evaluation in customer service. I'm a business owner and if my employees ever behave or act in a manner that seems as if they don't Want to be there or don't care, annoyed, upset or any kind, they will no longer work there. This owner needs to pay more attention to these employees or consider taking a management class on how to keep not just the customers happy but the staff as well. Don't let the employees bring their personal issues to work, or you will lose your customers. The only reason I'm giving any stars is because I did like the food.

I had four different tacos. The only good part of this experience was the tortillas, and that MIGHT only be in comparison to the fillings. The picadillo norteño literally tasted like canned beef stew, and still managed to be the best of the four. The worst, the shredded beef, had zero seasoning, no exaggeration. I will not be returning.

We got tacos this morning and we were left feeling hungry and annoyed. The beans were very very dry and thick. They messed up a bunch of our tacos. It definitely wasn't worth 40 dollars. The tortillas were over cooked. Not a good kind of crunchy. They were just terrible the Carne guisada not only smelled bad but tasted worse. The potatoes were under cooked. We tried it for the first time and we won't be back. 40 dollars down the drain because we couldn't force ourselves to eat them. The employees were very nice but that was the only good thing about this place.

I ordered through Uber eats and got nothing I actually ordered. My sausage and beef tacos came meatless. The cheese was burnt and the tortilla was soggy as if it was from the day prior soaking. Will not order from here again and a waste of a 50 dollar meal for 3 unsatisfied customers.

What can I say, very mediocre food. Raw tortillas chewy. Just not put together at all food was cold no flavor. I’ll never waste money here again. No customer service whatsoever not even greeted walking in. All in all 0 stars

We ordered a variety of items. Chips and queso was literally canned cheese that was microwaved. Potatoes in the breakfast tacos were undercooked and hard. Pastor tacos were old and hard, tortilla drenched in oil. Elote was made with yogurt instead of sour cream. Gross. We threw away majority of our food, it was overall nasty.

Paid for avocado and it was not put on, paid for bacon and egg…. Was told bacon was with egg…. It was cut up so tiny you couldn’t taste the bacon and you could barely see a few bacon crumbs! When we called ZERO customer care! We were told that’s the way we make them!!!! HORRID customer care!! Better off to drive into RoundRock! Small business is too smell to care!!! Sad!!

First they got my order wrong. I wanted flour tortillas for all my breakfast tacos, they used corn. I ordered guisada tacos with no potatoes and added rice for an extra charge... they didn't add the rice and left the potatoes in the taco. Secondly, the quality of these tacos were awful too. The bacon and egg, the carne guisada did not taste good at all, and I have never had such a greasy chorizo and egg taco before. And third these tacos were so small, barely the size of your palm. Do not order from here!

I had been passing up this place for a while and finally decided to pop in so dissatisfied. Ordered a chicken and beef fajita plate, rice was dry and crunchy, the meat was dry and poorly seasoned and didn’t even come with sautéed peppers. I had to go home and doctor it up with my own seasonings, the best thing on the plate was the refried beans and even that was subpar.

Overall very mediocre. Waited 20 mins for bland and skimpy tacos. Rude service... as the man who called out the name for the order was very impatient. I will not be returning. Honestly cant recommend anything... just buy the cookies at the counter and go. Also the ambiance is horrible as the restraunt doesn't have any comfortability. Your better off driving to the next town over or skipping breakfast. Trust me.

TERRIBLE!!! The Tortillas weren’t even cooked all the way !! still doughy! Portion size is very skimpy and we found a egg shell in the eggs! This is my 2nd time visiting this place & I tried to give them another chance but I won’t be returning! Save you time and money and go else where - THANK ME LATER

This is the second time I've been to this place. The first time was so good!!!! I literally raved about it to every single person I told everybody that when they go to Hutto they should check this place out. Today I go back, we get three different kinds of tacos the bean and bacon was disgusting, the al pastor was so greasy it had went through the bag and all over my car seat I have a brand new car and that completely pissed me off, and the carnitas one was absolutely full of fatty yucky and I didn't even eat it I gave it to my dog. I'm about to call up there and complain because my seat is absolutely ruined and I know I shouldn't have said it on there but the point is it was so greasy and disgusting I could not have eaten that if I tried. Never going back

I’ve ordered breakfast tacos from here on several occasions & even when putting in the notes to cook the potatoes crispy I still end up with tacos that have raw tortillas & even rawer potatoes. Save yourself the money & the trouble & go somewhere else. Mario’s Mexican Restaurant is 10 times better right down the street!

The staff was excellent, without a doubt. Can't blame them for my breakfast tacos that were the MOST TERRIBLE breakfast tacos I have EVER had. They were taught to cook it that style or technique, but honestly....my breakfast tacos were dripping with grease....NOT worth it...NEVER going back.

The tacos were so greasy that they were leaking oil through the foil before I even opened it and the tortilla began disintegrating the moment I picked it up. Honestly, really foul. It’s almost like they reheated old meat and poured oil over it to try and moisten it up again. My boyfriend ordered beef fajitas and ended up with a massive container full of tasteless barbacoa. Honestly, just avoid this place if you care about your colon in the slightest.

A lady saw me waiting by the door and WALKED AWAY! She saw me closer to 6:40, so I had been waiting for about 5 minutes already. Service is insanely bad. At that moment, I left and got something else.

I really hate the idea of writing a negative review for a local place, but the amount of errors we’ve had as of late warrants it. We used to come here three to four times a month and I always raved about the breakfast tacos. As of late, things have gone super south. They’ve messed up our order every single time for the last few months: pay for beans, they forget the beans, pay for potatoes, they forget the potatoes, ask for sausage, get bacon. My partner says the bacon on the breakfast tacos is basically inedible so that also sucks. This is annoying, but not the biggest deal breaker. I don’t eat meat and on multiple occasions they’ve put bacon in my tacos. They recently did this again and we called to get it rectified because we paid for vegetarian tacos and they were filled with meat. They told us there was nothing they could do right then but to come in the following morning - which we did. Their resolution was for us to buy more tacos at a 30% discount. It’s honestly just really poor customer service and management. Don’t place orders over the phone and check your tacos before you leave the store if you actually want what you ordered.
