Sombrero Mexican Food

Really small spot but can still sit and enjoy. They work fast to make u some tasty food. The carne asada fries were very enjoyable and the rolled tacos are made just right.

There's no words I can say this was a awesome place to eat the food was delicious I have literally no complaints this is a 10 plus and beyond

Always a great place for food after a long day at the beach. I grew up on Bean and Cheese burritos from here but also really enjoy the Machaca Torta, Rolled Tacos with Guacamole, and Supreme Carne Asada Fries for sharing

Best mexican take out in IMPERIAL BEACH. loving me some Sombreros. They've been there more than 40 years. Like me.

They gladly go out of their way to accommodate custom orders. Also probably one of a handful of places that have shredded beef a la carte if you are trying avoid bread/tortillas. I'm sure I have more to say, just had a long day.

Excellent meal! Got the adoda burrito and every bite was great. Some shops don’t get it right but this was tasty.

I ordered a Healthy Breakfast Bowl on line for pickup. I decided to dine in and was amazed at how good it was. It was literally packed with tender shredded chicken. Other ingredients not in the description were onions and tomatoes. It was piping hot and very satisfying. I will definitely be reorder in the future.

Fabian our server was awesome! Attentive and gave several recommendations. The view is always great here. First time I come for brunch and it was delicious. Had the steak and eggs and my nephew had eggs and bacon, simple but delicious. I highly recommend coming here at any time of the day. Thanks Fabian. Ooo and thanks for everything Javier ! When they are there On time or at the counter, it is amazing. But they are never own on time, and I've waited at the counter for 5-10 mins for the cashier to arrive and acknowledge I was there. I'm not Mexican, so I don't get the greatest treatment, even though I grew up in Mexico. Really good food, not the best service, but whatever. I'm used to that I guess.

Update: I think their prices are more consistent now that they use Toast POS. They should add a tip option so I can tip the workers! Sometimes I dont have cash They always charge me different prices for the same item... Weird!

Sombrero's is great. The food is fantastic and comes in good portions. Its not the cheapest food around but it is conveniently located on Palm Avenue right next to the beach. My only issue is that they don't tell you the prices of the drinks or even show you them. 711 is right next door.

I drove down from Chula Vista because I didn't want to drive to spring valley for the Sombrero's there. This location is small but clean, fast and fresh. The flavors were the same as any other Sombrero I visited! The tables were clean and the cashier was nice and friendly. ( No problem getting my free burrito from rewards program). Sombrero's will always be top of my list for fast Mexican food.

Several people we work with insisted we get the fish taco and it did not disappoint. The Adobada burrito was freaking massive in size and flavor. Highly recommend.

Average food at best a hole in the wall dive. The doors are almost always open usually with flies. Prices are not the best considering very basic average food. If you're don't have a very discerning pallet and just want a quick convenient bite across from the beach, then you will be content with this place. But, definitely would not recommend going out of your way.

Went to this place a couple times on our vacation here food was great and prices were good. Unfortunately they lose stars from me due to this morning wanting breakfast burritos from a suggestion, they were supposed to open at 8am. Got there a little after 8 and they were closed building was dark no one around. Sat til 815 and still no one so went back to our rental. Called corporate and they said sorry for the inconvenience they are supposed to be open by 830 tried calling still no answer.

If you're coming here to get the Carne Asada, I'll warn you now that it's not fresh. They c use canned meat that tastes very similar to dog food. The taste is sickening. The Pollo and the adobada is pretty good, but I definitely recommend that you NEVER order anything with Carne Asada. It's more than likely the same food you give to your dog from a can

The food there is sitting for a long time. Frys in the oil until you order then they dip it oil again to make it hot. Staff is nice but the food is disgraceful. The worst Mexican food in Imperial Beach. Went back for A REFUND and the poor gal there couldn't refund until tomorrow when The owner is back. I left her my number and I did said to her this is directed to the establishment and they should be embarrassed to serve food in this maner with grease pouring out of the frys and I ask her would you eat this and she replied she wouldn't eat it.. Don't bother going to this place for sure !!

I don't like to give bad reviews, but that was my first and last time at this place. I ordered two large or premium ( I don't remember how they label them) way overpriced carne asada fries. The plates were not even half full, and it was mainly fries than meat. They were really short staffed and very behind in orders. The cashier guy from 7/11 next door was yelling at them for not having his order ready, people were upset. Very chaotic atmosphere. I don't recommend this place.

My husband ordered Carne asada fries, and I had a bean and cheese burrito. The food was okay. The beans tasted too greasy. Green salsa was basically colored water. Red was ok. We wanted to dine in but there was a man, screaming on the top of his lungs out front a bunch of curse words. Will never go back.
